This place is such a hidden gem! We visited Zoocade about a month ago and I'm still thinking about how cool it was. Imagine walking through a zoo filled with lifelike holograms of animals from around the world?lions, sharks, reptiles, even dinosaurs! That is just naming a few! It really feels like you're traveling from Africa to Australia without ever leaving Austin. My stepdaughter was obsessed?she couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had and asking when we were going back!? And honestly, I was i

We had the absolute BEST time at Zoocade! From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming, and the space was clean, fun, and family-friendly. I brought my 6 and 2 year old, and both of them had an amazing time ? which can be tough to pull off with that age gap! There's a great mix of games for all ages. My son was obsessed with the racing and shooting games, while my daughter loved the kiddie rides and interactive light games. I really appreciated how easy it was to load play cards ? no loose tokens

?? **Zoocade Review: 3D Dinos & Family Fun!** ???? We recently visited **Zoocade**, and let me tell you?it's not your average arcade. It's part game zone, part prehistoric adventure, and 100% worth the trip! The **3D experience** was the star of the show. We were transported straight into a world of dinosaurs?think Jurassic Park, minus the screaming and running (well? *mostly*). The visuals were super immersive, the sound effects rumbled through your chest, and my kids were fully convinced a T-Rex was abo

What a neat experience..... I was given Zoocade tickets for Mother's Day for me and my 8 year old. It was so much fun. My favorite part of it was the hologram interactive room. You also got to be really fun pictures and videos. They had an arcade with many games. I would suggest if you get motion sickness easy maybe take a Dramamine beforehand but it wasn't too bad at all.

Very nice people running the place. They are very eager to please and go out of their way to make one feel at home. It's in the old Golfsmith factory so it's very roomy and comfortable. I owe a special thanks to Arthur for making our granddaughter feel special, but I'm sure he treats all kids like they're special.

My wife, son, and I traveled from Center Valley, PA to Austin, TX to experience Zoocade in early March. We had a fantastic time! Reva and Colleen were great hosts and answered our various questions about the business. Best wishes to Reva, the team, and Zoocade. A truly wonderful experience. Definetely worth the visit.

We love the Zoocade! Such a fun, unique experience for kiddos in our area. The squeals of delight and surprise are still ringing in my ears. The photo booth is a must and the arcade is a blast. But the stars are the experiences themselves. We saw the Australia version and loved it. My mom friend and I even were shocked enough to jump back and scream. Good times!

We had no idea what to expect...and it was so cool! We've done a lot of kid places in Austin, and this was most unique. The Australian experience was awesome. (Hard not to love a palatypus.) Next time I'll bring my son to do the dinosaur one.

We had the most amazing experience celebrating my daughter?s 5th birthday at Zoocade on 4/27/25! From start to finish, Colleen and her staff went above and beyond to make the day special, fun, and stress-free. The level of care, organization, and enthusiasm they brought to the party truly made it unforgettable for both the kids and the parents. Colleen was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure every detail was perfect and that my daughter felt like a star. The staff was warm, professional, and fantast

What a fun experience!!! Took my daughter last weekend and we had the best time laughing and screaming. Totally recommended, best part the funny action photos in the Photo Booth.

My family and I had a lot of fun here! Took my husband and kids and we loves the dinosaur exhibit as well as the underwater interactive games. Great way to spend the morning or afternoon!

We went last weekend and it was phenomenal. The experience itself was so cool and the staff was so helpful and on point. We spent over 2 hours there and my kid had an absolute blast. It was really fun as an adult to experience it with him. My kiddo is a tween so this is great for older kids too. He loved it so much he wants to have his birthday party there in August. The value was superb as well. It was only $50 for both my kiddo and I to attend and again we got 2.5 hours of entertainment.

Worth the money. My son and I spent a nice afternoon at zoocade. Our admission came with the hologran zoo which consisted of 5 laps, vr game session, photo ops, and a souvenir. We tried Australia and my son immediately wanted to go back and see the other exhibits.

Zoocade is an incredible experience for the whole family. I took my two daughters, and we had a blast exploring the Africa and Dinosaur tours. I highly recommend checking this place out.

What a fun and unique experience! We can't wait to go back. I honestly did not think that this would be that cool but instead something we could do to kill a little bit of time. But the zoo experience as well as the hologram game took over an hour, so we definitely got our moneys worth. Also, the staff was really helpful and kind. They made the experience that much better.

I very much enjoys the 3D museum. I was a little worried when they described jumpscares. But my 2-year-old enjoyed it. There are glasses you need to wear obviously. There are a few well-anticipated jump scares

We had fun! Arcade was our favorite part. The user experience is a little weird? you need to be standing in a specific spot for the holograms to work, so the screens are constantly showing you these big STOP and GO icons to usher you around. Whereas a regular zoo you can relax and walk wherever.

What a whimsical and delightful time we spent at Zoocade! Walking with dinosaurs, dodging swooping pterodactyls, saving sea turtles from seagulls, jumping into the ocean to swim with starfish. All felt so lifelike with our Zoocade goggles!! Perfect for a rainy day or when it's too hot to be outside. The staff was stellar, including giving tips and offering help with one of our party who had special needs. It's almost impossible to describe the hologram experience but it's easy to highly recommended for all

We had an amazing time! It was better than expected. We laughed, we jumped, we pretended to pet animals. Arthur, especially, made sure our entire visit was wonderful. The whole team took care such good care of us. Highly recommend.

They are still in start-up, so there were a few hiccups, but the staff handled everything very professionally. Neat experience.

Zoocade was a very fun experience. First time i have ever been there and the staff was so nice and very helpful. For what we did it was very affordable and reasonable. The pictures and videos at the end make for great souvenirs after doing the exhibit.

Absolutely loved this place. We did the Dinosaur tour, rebuilt Frankenstein's monster and staked Count Dracula. Wonderful and friendly staff. Great customer service and fantastic price for what it was. Have already recommended to our friends and will be back for the African and Australian exhibits.

My sons and I had an amazing boys' day at Zoocade! What an incredible experience! We were reaching out to the animals, dodging fireflies, and even trying to keep up with the stampede of elephants! It was fun for both the young and the young at heart. Plus, the place was spotless, which made it even more enjoyable!

Zoocade is so much fun! My daughter and two friends went there for a day off school and screamed their way through the Dinosaur exhibit. She won't stop talking about it! Such a cool concept. It's a great 2-3 hours of entertainment. Go!

It was a wonderful and unique experience! The dino experience was fantastic! We also did the bundle and got the interactive underwater experience which the kids had even more fun with! Ending it with the arcade, was a great bonus!

Fun place to go! Super cool! Did the dinosaur tour! Will go back to do the Africa one! Everyone was super friendly and nice! I would suggest to do the interactive game room as well!!

What a great experience! Very reasonably priced, making it great for family. Wish the arcade area will expand in the future. I can't wait to go again

The staff are great but the technology seems old and I wouldn't call it realistic. It felt like one of the 3-D movies from my childhood. The kids were bored and didn't want to finish what we paid for. Personally I don't think it's worth the cost.

This place was really fun! The claw machines were really fun, we even got 3 stuffed animals! The holograms were so detailed and great. Amazing place ??????

This place was so neat. The 3D was pretty impressive, the games were fun and we loved the greenscreen photobooth. We picked tge Dinosaurs this time but will definitely be back for the other choices.

Booked a birthday here for our 8 year old. Worked out great and was very turn key for a good mix of kids. Recommend!

Brand-new place!!! We had a birthday there! The staff was awesome!!!enjoy the video!!!

What a fun experience!!! Took my teenage daughters and we laughed, screamed and had a blast. Totally recommend. Took some funny action photos in the Photo Booth, great memories.

Hard to imagine being entertained here for more than 60 minutes or so. It is not bad per se just exceptionally lackluster and a little depressing. It is also a little on the pricy side. I would go to cidercade instead

Zoocade is a terrific family-friendly Austin adventure. The hologram zoo is awesome, one-of-a-kind, and informative! And the arcade games are fun for all ages. Easy parking, great atmosphere!

Did not live up to the marketing pitch. I was expecting an immersive experience. Instead, we saw short 3D video clips of dinosaurs. Calling it a holographic zoo is misleading.

this Zoocade has no 3D illusions. The glasses are itchy and hurt your eyes terribly. But again the zoo is completely unrealistic. It would be better if they left it 2-D.

Your staff is excellent! Thank you for such a nice time. Your staff should train other businesses on friendliness and professionalism.

Very Awesome 3D zoo. Amazing

We had a great time at Zoocade! The staff was awesome and whole experience was so fun! We will be back!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
