We had my Granddaughters ?5th? Birthday Party here It Was Magnificent She enjoyed her self so much she stated she had the most fun Ever the rides the games was really Wonderful. The food was Great Everyone loves Pizza. We will be returning very soon for her just to enjoy herself without it being her big day!!!!!Staff Was Great And Pricing Was Right??????????????????????????????Kudos A Job Well Done!!!!

My family likes to play here every once in a while. The prices are a little steep. We have had a lot of fun with putt-putt, but this last time around it did seem a little run down. It's hardly spring, so maybe they just haven't updated them yet. The games are fun, but it gets really crowded sometimes.

Visited in June while driving through to Wisconsin. I had not been back since just before the pandemic in 2019. A real special and fun place. Well run, the go kart tracks are fun, and the atmosphere was festive. We will be back.

SUCH a fun place!!! We took the kids their because my husband used to go there as a kid himself and in 1 hour we got so much done we didn't want to leave!! ? So many fun things to do and I even found the secret way to get so many "tickets" they are card based arcades which is great but I think most old school 90-20s babies love the nostalgia of tickets either way in an hour we got almost 1k tickets and the kids will hopefully remember it. It's definitely going to be a staple of our future trips here! ?

I used to love taking my kids here, but this place has become a money hole. I understand that you have to pay to play, but 1 dollar games are cheap ones now. A lot of games do not work properly. I think I'll pass next time.

The Wife and I don't have any Kids, but it doesn't matter because We are both big Kids at heart. We enjoy the miniature golf courses, 2 eighteen hole courses with lots of side features. We also love the the Space Invaders game which You actually sit in seats next to each other and fire huge guns into a big screen and work as a team to win as many tickets as possible. We always have a blast! Lol! Try the Pizza and desserts too. Oh by the way, They also have Alligators!!!

The manager, Katie, went above and beyond with less than an hour?s notice to save our field trip from cancellation after the amusement park we were headed to was closed due to power outages. Katie, and her staff, were incredible! They went above and beyond for our 8th graders, allowing them to celebrate the end of middle school with a memorable, fun experience they'll cherish forever. I'm a forever customer after today. THANK YOU!

We came here for a little family hang out time. It was a disappointment. Bathrooms were dirty, floor looked liked it hadn't been vacuumed in 3 weeks... Tables had food on them, games were old and dirty and the staff... Well there were a LOT of staff members. Almost all we're on their phones. There were literally 4 girls behind the ticket station on their phones the whole time we were there. I saw a guy outside cleaning the cart track... He was probably the only one "working". I did like that there was an on

Fun place to spend the afternoon. Food was priced right, the attractions were a little high. The mini golf was the hardest I've ever played. The course is warped and the holes are in tough spots, but it's just mini golf so putt and move on. Kids loved the vr games, overall spent about $170 in food and games for 2 adults 2 kids.

If you can talk your kids out of the arcade this place is great! A $20 game card doesnt go very far... just an FYI we have 3 kids so we try to go for special occasion ?? We really enjoy the mini golf, the batting cages and the Lazer tag!

Prices are kinda high, not the best variety in arcade games, but great atmosphere, lots of other fun options. Pretty fun spot for a date night, family night, or some fun all by yourself. Batting cages are a blast

Cool place, unique and fun mini golf course. Pizza is really good so is the beef sandwich. Lots to do there especially for the little ones. Owners are great people!

Eh.. every worker was just on their phones, card machine broke but that was quickly handled by I'm guessing someone in charge (?), games are priced to what one would expect with being the only arcade around here. The bread bite things we got were hot and crispy and delicious. We (yes our family will be the black sheep here) do not like the pizza though. Prices on food are equivalent to just about everywhere else.

Outstanding! We had 9 people and I couldn't stop thinking that as a deck renovator I'd love to redo their 1/5 size houses and castles they have...and climb up an in them at the mini golf course

Fun place for families to go do mini golf, arcade, go karts, and laser tag. The pizza is great too. Nice for birthday parties. They also have batting cages.

Super fun environment and lots to do. Absolutely the place to go on a nice summer day with friends and family.

The blue course can be played (to a degree) in a competitive fashion. The red, being the lesser of the two 18 hole courses & late in the mini golf season, is not. Especially if it's wet. Don't go after recent rain. The red is simply unplayable with any level of precision. But we imagine a resplendent 36 holes during the sunnier seasons. There are large scenic pieces surrounding numerous holes on the Blue course. Almost none of the holes demand luck and all is mostly legal throughout the course. A couple

My father was an avid proper golfer. I am not. My boyfriend and I came here on the occasion of his first heavenly birthday. Well it may not be pebble beach, it's very lovely here, lots of fun, and even a bit challenging at times!

Went here with my dad on vacation, definitely a fun place to visit while in town. The mini golf is far better than any crazy pins of other putt putt locations, and the arcade had a good selection of fun game that aren't overpriced to play.

Went a few months ago, kids loved the huge game room, we all loved lazer tag ( a first for all of us). Oh and getting to feed the gators was iceing on the cake. Can't wait to try everything else.

My kids love this place! Pizza is good and games are fun!

Loved every min. Took 13 yrs old for birthday!

I love this place! The miniature golf course is my favorite part. The 18 holes offer an extended fun time outdoors for families and friends. It's a good value at $7! The go-carts and arcade are also a lot of fun. They recently put in a few new games in the arcade like ax throwing and hungry hippos!

Kids had fun. Not too pricey. Fun for the whole family. It was cold so the coaster and go karts were not running yet

Great mini golf course. We did 18 holes on blue (there is also 18 red). Also had fun in the arcade! Wanted to get food but the wait for pizza was 1-1.5 hours.

Sad to see but this place is getting worse. I entered the establishment when they opened. There were food spilled on multiple game screens, trash was all around the floors and they just opened... A handful of games were out of order. More importantly, one game posted Error after paying. I went to the front desk and politely explained what happened and the girl behind the counter, rolled her eyes in disgust and walked away and never came out to address the problem. I never received what I paid for. I may hav

Don't get the good reviews. Thia place is ran down! The newer games are ok but the prices are a bit high for how run down this place has gotten. Also they started charging just to have the card before you put money on it! Seriously! Money grab!

Great times again while on vacation! Thanks again ,as it's much better games ,and even cheaper than Claw games here in Springfield, OR. Thanks again??

Batting cages, Lazer Tag, Go Karts, Classic games and Skee Ball. We spend hours here! This place is a great place for the local teens to spend time. The pizza is considerably better than most big box pizza. 15 minutes from deep River Waterpark makes it an awesome venue for the city of Valpo. Music piped through the facility makes the ambience a plus. Great Times!

We went miniature golfing there. I was fun but it doesn't take long to play the 18 holes. We picked the Blue course, the other one was red.

This place is awesome!! My husband and I discovered it along our trip to Indiana Dunes. Always on the hunt for a cool mini golf spot, we had to stop. This was one of the best we've been to. Batting cages, putt putt, an awesome arcade, go karts, and food...what more could you ask for?

I took my Grandkids here for a back to school send off. They're 12, 10, and 8. They had a great time! We did the mini golf, go carts and the arcade. We also had a pizza for lunch along with soft drinks. The pizza was delicious!! Hot and cheesy! The kids loved the arcade, which has a variety of games that award you with tickets to purchase items at the end of the day. There are many games for all ages. There are claw machines that award you instantly, if you are able to pick up a prize and drop it in the dra

Amazing facility for all kids activities. Tried the cars, mini Golf and even the arcade. Do your self a favor and skip the Cafe.

Fun place to visit. Sometimes the lines can be a little long, but that's to be expected. Kids seem to love the go carts the best. Only giving it 4 stars because we read that they had bumper cars and it turns out that they don't and because the mini golf area is in need of some repair. It's neat to see the little alligators. :-)

What a disaster of a mini golf experience. My husband and I have never been here before. We get out of our car and had no clue of where to go for mini golf. There are literally no signs out front. So we walked into the door for the pizza place and we were immediately greeted by smoke. There needs to be a better ventilation system in there for food because it was gross. We walked all through the arcade area looking for anyone that worked there. Still no signs for mini golf. We finally found a random counter

This place is a lot of fun! Batting cages, arcade, mini golf, go karts, a restaurant and gators! My husband and I had a wonderful day date here. The mini golf course is a lot of fun and has a lot of great decor!

Great place to bring family events or groups with younger people, the food was great the pizza was one of the best I've ever had and they serve alcohol, (beer) too! Moni golf was 7 bucks a person not too bad had a great time

Such a fun place!! Loved the mini golf, both courses are fun. Never tried batting cages prior to coming to Zao, it was pretty neat.! Can't wait to go back when they reopen, as they are seasonal. Great place for everyone. Highly recommend.

Fun place for all ages. Really enjoy when they have live music. Pizza is delicious! Baseball cages, go carts, Mini golf, arcade, tiki bar, etc. Years ago, They used to have an outdoor golf driving range- would be cool if they brought that back.

A place that has massive potential to be the next six flags great America ???? i am currently working on a free add for them my family had a amazing time. I feel that they need to invest into growing towards roller coasters next and adding a second lvl to arcade building indoors. 10=10

Staff was xtremely helpful and very polite i'd recommend this unique place to anyone and everyone what a great place for families to have fun and enjoy themselves.

Always a fun time for the family. I'm glad they redid some of the holes so that they're not so run down. The arcade is way too hot and some of the games are either broken or too expensive to want to play.

We came here for the friend of our family who was having a birthday party for their 11 year old daughter. The place was awesome! There's a full bar, restaurant, batting cages and a pretty cool arcade as well. We spent about 2 hours here and that was plenty of time to use up all our gaming cards in the arcade and grab a few drinks. I would definitely recommend!

Thus has been agreed on by many as the best pizza in town. We love bringing our little here for the duck ride and mini golf, and always keep a card with some points on it to play a little while we wait on pizza whenever we order. The games can a little pricey, but it's a nice place. The games that don't give tickets are free on Thursdays, which is nice. At times, they have live music, and they allow school groups and make for a good place to host a party.

Looks cool. But the one roller coaster doesn't open until late may. They should tell you that.

Got love being able to take your kids out for the day, go carting, mini golf, arcade and food all in one place!

Great place to go to be a Lil outdoors and rite in town of valpo! Great pizza for the type of gaming place it got busy into the evening on Friday which is expected to get parked and order food early

My only drawback is to pay attention to how you walk in the laser tag. It isn't padded and hurts when you trip or land on your foot odd. Sprained my ankle here

Great wedding venue. It's very new. Air conditioning was too much, and I'm not usually one to complain. I usually run hot and prefer the air, but it was very cold. The venue is gorgeous. The actual amusement part of the island is a lot of fun. Go karts, mini golf, arcade. Lots of fun.

I love this place always fun to bring family and kids. Pizza is awesome, go carts are fast, mini golf is an interesting course with new obstacles that I haven't seen before. Always will be back.

I'm pretty disappointed with this place these days, unfortunately. The mini golf course was flooded, and the food service was extremely slow even though the place wasn't very busy. The staff didn't warn my party about the mini golf course either, which isn't the end of the world but a sizable amount of the course was like this or covered in debris.

Food a little expensive but it was good even though waffle fries could be a little more crispier seemed microwaved

We always have fun here. There's a lot to do. Laser tag, mini golf, go karts, batting cages, an arcade. My kids and teens always have fun. We like their pizza too. One star off because it's a little pricey and their bathrooms need air conditioning.

I celebrated my son's 12 birthday here and it was the best.the pizza was great, the beer was a little pricey but all in all we had a great time

Very fun lots of games to play and in the summer there are alligators which are cool. Mini golf is also fun.

Super cute place, great atmosphere. Really feels like you're on a boardwalk. The mini golf was really well done, except for a few dry water features. The guys working the go karts were not very interested in doing their jobs- after another driver spun me and my daughter out it took a few minutes of yelling and waving my arms for anyone to notice. So the rules of "no bumping" definitely aren't enforced. The arcade was super fun. The cards were a very handy way to keep track of everything. We're out of towner

It was my first time there with my two daughters, it was my youngest daughter?s birthday. I asked the front girl if there was a deal for games and food package , she said no then I asked to buy two cards for my daughters I asked the girl how much should I put on each card ? She said $20 to start is decent so I bought two with $20 on each, within minutes these cards were done , some games were $2 and some was $5 then I filled them again with $20 each and a third time again . So I spend $120 within half hou

Don't come here often, but when I do it's always fun. Really enjoy how clean and hassle-free my visit have been each time. Not the best food, but the games atmophere and convient location are all a super huge plus!

Pretty fun! We found this place in a brochure from our hotel when we went on a vacation to the Indiana Dunes. It was a bit far to get to, if you're heading from the Portage area/staying close to the Dunes. The drive is just not an easy way?you'll definitely need a GPS. But it was fun to take the kids to do something else besides going to the beach. We killed 2 hours during the day. They mostly stayed in the arcade and fed the baby alligators, which they loved seeing. The food was pretty good too. We had piz

They offer laser tag, games, putt putt and batting cages for the kids and adult beverages for the adults, if that's your thing. Great place for bday parties, gatherings, or just a way to kill time with the kids for an afternoon.

Nice miniture golf but kind of run down. Go carts are reasonable for the ride you get. Slide was too much for one slide down

My friends and I took my son here for his birthday, we had the best experience! I only got one name, Olivia she was super sweet helpful and soooo sweet to my little one! The rest of the staff was too! Will definitely go back again!

My wife and I decided to take our kids to Zao?s Island today. In celebration of their last day of school. First off, I must say that Zao?s is a very special place to visit. I would highly recommend Zao?s to anyone of any age, they have attractions that are geared towards kids and adults. Secondly the food is top notch! Which typically isn't the case at fun centers/arcades. Zao?s is worth visiting for the food alone! Something else that really separates Zao?s from the pack, is the fact that Zao?s is a real

Games are way over priced. The batting cages are $2 a round. I would rate higher if the prices weren't so obnoxious. Prepare to spend a lot if you want to have any fun. Cool atmosphere though.

Arcade is good. The laser tag is fun, but there are some issues with my equipment not working correctly. They switched out my best and allowed us to replay our game. The mini golf has some really cool holes, but some need to be repaired.

I love this place so much it's the best I would recommend have fun!

It's always fun for the kids to play with hundos of dollars on the zao island world.

Had a Great afternoon the staff was helpful and courteous was so thankful they helped get out stuck pirate card out of the machine

I enjoyed the go-carts and the mini golf. I was happy to see the arcade game room but disappointed about the variety of games.

Had my son's birthday party here on a Saturday. It was busy, as expected since it was the weekend, but everyone had a great time! The pizza was delicious and my son's dad getting the party package with the play cards made it so much more fun for the whole group. Adults and kids were able to use them to do different attractions (we did the go-karts, and laser tag, while some went off to do mini golf.) The experience overall was great, and also more affordable than other places with birthday party packages. ?

Such an AMAZING time! The social distance Santa idea was amazing. We had such a great time, and you could tell they truly cared about the families coming in. Thank you for being amazing and having such a cute setup to boot!

Cool place to bring the kids and they serve beer and wine for the grown ups.??

We took grandkids and had a blast. Will definitely visit again

Great place to go if you want something to do with the kiddos or a nifty date idea. Most of the attractions are outside with the game room being inside. I don't eat the food there but when I had it in the past they were decent (pre-Covid) An ample amount of games, fun attractions (go karts, batting cages, and more) plus an entire mini-golf course.

This place was okay. The pizza was good, but most games were $1 for about 1 -2 minutes. My son did like the laser tag and the batting cages.

This place is great, between the golf course and the game room kids can have fun here for hours. The food is basic, but it's OK and most of the staff was very helpful / nice.

It's a great place for a fun time. So many things to do. Ranging from arcade games to go karts to mini golf. They even have little alligators you can see before you start your round of mini golf. The only bad part is getting stuck behind alot of people while mini golfing. But when the sun goes down and the lights come on it all looks great!

This is a really great place for kids. I bring my daughter all the time. Tons of games, mini golf, batting cages, laser tag, and go karts. The only thing that I don't like is that they don't have live aligators anymore like they used to.

The arcade is great, wide variety of games to play. It was pretty pricey and they didn't use a credit system which I find to be easier. There were also kids running rampage around the arcade which wasn't fun. Go Karts seemed like they had a lot running Mini golf, seemed confusing because there's two routes to choose from and very little signage. Most other customers also seemed confused. The course also was dirty and run down and unprepared. Definitely better choices for fun in Northwest Indiana.

We enjoyed ourselves. Nice game room. We rode the go carts and slide.

A lit of fun, but the courses were very dirty. The numbers by each hole extremely faded. No benches to sit on or writing surfaces to keep score. And to top it all off, the 18th hole on both courses was closed for maintenance. We were told at the end to choose another hole as the 18th. Still, I would visit again, but they really need to do some basic upkeep.

Very nice family oriented place, good prices, pretty good pizza.

Great place to take the family for fun!

Nice place, golf course needs a little work but it was a nice lengthy course. Food was good and arcades were good for what it was. I would definitely go again.

The children had a Blast!.... Very nice environment!.. Will Most Definitely visit here again!!

Zao Island is awesome! Miniature golf, go karts, batting cages, and the best arcade around! Fun for everyone! Prices are fair and affordable. Try their pizza too ??

Great place to be at. Many games of all types. The only downside I had was that when i was in the batting cages, a ball hit my finger, and it swelled up real bad. Besides that, overall, it is very great.

Gosh, we really love this place, but they're a teeeensy but pricey on their games. I did just find out however that they have a winter special - 1/2 price Tuesdays :) the other thing is I think the last time we were there my daughter lost credits on a game but didn't get the play and there was a claw broken on one of the claw machines. Truly if not for those things I'd give it 5. This still remains one our favorite family past times :(

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
