Yucca Bowl

Yucca Bowl

Reviews Summary

The bowling alley receives mixed reviews, with many praising its friendly staff, affordable prices, and fun atmosphere, especially at the bar. However, complaints highlight outdated equipment, technical issues with lanes, and some rude employees. Cleanliness and family-friendliness are noted positively, but maintenance issues like worn chairs and broken facilities are recurring concerns. While some love the vibe and return often, others are frustrated by poor service and management. Overall, it’s a decent spot for casual bowling but could use upgrades and better customer service consistency.

I went there for the USBC Citrus Belt Mixed Doubles Tournament. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, from the lanes to the restrooms. Everything was clean and well maintained. Don't let the location fool you, this is a great place to go bowling. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable also, it was my first tournament and I was expecting to be a little nervous but it felt just like a league night, a lot of laughter and great vibes throughout. I'll definitely be back for the next tournament!

Visited with a family of 5 while in town to hike Joshua Tree. This place was LOVELY. Very clean, well maintained and affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I've never actually seen a bowling alley successfully keep the bowling balls organized by weight and finger size ?? Highly recommend if you're in town ??

We Had a Blast! Snack bar burger combo and pretzel bites with cheese was yummy and hit the spot and the orange blood beer from Nick's Bar was delicious! We Are Looking Forward To Coming Back.

Been bowling here the past 3 years. Love the fact its not as crowded as other bowling places down the hill. I'd suggest u leave your strong balls behind as the lanes are lightly oiled.

Absolutely love Yucca bowl. It's a great family spot to take the kids out for a night of bowling! They have plenty of new arcade games to keep them busy if they choose not to bowl. The Staff is always friendly and accommodating. The prices are reasonable and you can purchase adult beverages from the newly established FULL bar located conveniently inside the bowling alley. It's a place where both young and old generations can co mingle and have a great time. Hungry? Well dominos pizza is right there just ste

Yucca Bowl had a remodeled done. So beautiful & everything new. Including shoes, bowling balls, screens, etc. What a big difference!! Amazing ?? Lady behind the counter had a great friendly service. We will go back there again.

Really great energy in this place treated our party of people with awesome service. The lanes were great picking different themes for the animated score board. The bar serves top notch Pina colodas. They also serve pitchers of beer if thats your thing. Great bowling experience!!!!!!!

So I will start by saying this building is very old, but all things considered, it still operates pretty well. Some of the lanes do have ball return issues, but as I said this place is old. The $1.25 game nights (Tues & Weds) are a good deal for large groups. They do have a full bar inside as well as pool tables in the bar area. They have no food offerings and only allow you to bring food in from the Dominoes pizza next door. The staff that works here has been here for a very long time. They are all pretty

Had a blast here with my family! We got a little tipsy with the bar being right there but it was so fun, we played there from like noon to close lol.. good times

Imagine, the parking lot a covered fencing, unseen from the passing traffic, a security post at the entrance and the protection of sitting in your car in the parking lot and getting a .... The towns make-out spot. Legally.

Great place to go bowling Great customer service the employees and owner have really done a great job the prices are worth it will be going again soon love the updated floor and addition to the equipment installed. Best bowling place in town !!

Updated since I was here last. Very nice lots of familiar faces

Our family bowled here and had a terrific evening ! The service was excellent, the music was perfect and really added to the atmosphere of the place. Prices are reasonable and it was nice to see several families enjoying the evening. The painting on the wall behind the pins was colorful and we all loved the old school feel of the place. What a lot of fun we had thanks to the staff and service.

Recent visit was a date night for us and it was so fun! We went after opening on a Monday and it started out slow but we enjoyed the relaxing environment. By the time we left the place was getting busy. Had a few cocktails while playing and those were delicious! Our lane did give us a little bit of trouble but the staff took care of it for us and even offered to let us play another round if we wanted to. Courteous staff, clean establishment and a great place for a fun night out! You can tell the owners real

Such an awesome place with friendly staff

Response to Owner: Very cool of you to straight up lie about refunding me. I went back and checked my statements and the charges were never refunded. We were given another lane but we weren't given any extra time. So we lost time on switching lanes as well.** Terrible experience. Spent 20 minutes of our hour with the lane being broken. Very glad we didn't pre-pay a second hour. I do like their ball selection, but that doesn't help that we didn't get to use them for 1/3rd of our hour. Food was also awful, $1

I really like coming here. The snack shop is currently closed for renovations but they had awesome chicken strips and fries when they were open. The staff is always friendly and when there's a problem with the lanes it's quickly fixed. The discount nights make it affordable for me to bowl pretty often and they even have large sized bowling shoes for those of us who need them.

really cool place, wonderfully friendly people. pretty cheap also, $3.50 shoe rental, $16/hour lane rental. retro arcade machines and old school lane computers!

Friendly staff, fair prices, clean facilities. Yucca Bowl is a terrific spot to have some fun in the JTNP area.

this place only gets better every time I go. they got a nice bar and you can bowl by the hour.

I really appreciate having a place for recreation in this small town. My husband and I were happy to see the improvements that have been made to the establishment. However, the parking lot is in serious need of proper lighting. As a woman I do not appreciate a dark parking lot. Customers should feel safe leaving at night. Employees normally have to park farther away as well and they also should feel comfortable walking out to their cars in the late hours after closing. As much as may be being invested in th

We had our son's bday party here and he had a blast! The staff was awesome and the kids had a great time. Plenty of fun arcade games too. The place was clean and cool on a hot day. ?? A++

Tonight it was a free for all after 6:00 p.m. All but 5 lanes were occupied out of 24. As many as 6 unmasked persons per lane.

So we went here this weekend. We had reserved two lanes . The first lane was with numbers for the kids and the other lane was for the adults. We paid by the hour which was a bad idea because we spent more time going to the desk to get help with our lane not functioning properly than we did bowling. The customer service / cashier claimed to me that when we reserved our lanes that were were told to pay by the game and not the hour because if we had problems with our lane they would not compensate us or extend

Since I don't bowl, I can only rate Nick's. Kipp is a great bartender. He's attentive and makes a very good drink. He's very friendly and personable.

Friendly staff. Clean well maintained lanes. Excellent prices. Great atmosphere.

Great place to go and get out of the heat. They have nice pool tables the bar is real nice friendly people. The staff is excellent. The bowling alley offers specials you can't beat. They have food you can purchase. And the music is good. Went bowling had fun great place to go and get out of the heat.

Loving the way it is getting redone. People are nice.

This was one of my favorite places to bowl especially on a Sunday for $2 a game. Then I came in today. And now I will reconsider driving all the way from Hesperia because of the piece of work at the front counter is ugly and gross and radiated disgust and laziness because she didn't even smile. She provided no friendly welcoming customer service. It was only 12:30 and this person acting like she tired and she don't even want to work. Shes bothered. Your job ain't HARD! Do you want a promotion for smiling?I

I went to nicks bar today in the bowling alley and Kipp was wonderful!! I love this place and the drinks are delicious and affordable ?? this is my favorite spot in town I will definitely be a regular thank you Kipp!!

Pretty much a new bowling alley with new score keeping cartoons easy scoring racks are working pretty good and the lanes are good and oiled and the price is about half of everywhere else just a wonderful place even got a snack bar in a bar and pool tables okay I'd love to get a Pro-Am tournament started there you're welcome

It's not good at all. ATM out of order. Cash only. If you have kids don't expect the bumper to go down when it's your turn. My opinion is to tear it down and put a brand new bowling alley with new management. Lady?s tend to be a bit snappy and don't know how to talk to costumers.

Really nice bowling alley. Very clean. The bar looks cool, but was there for son's little league team party. The lady who works there was really nice as well.

I thought it was nice...and the shoes cracked me up....I dont mean any disrespect...it just took me by surprise...velcro!...what happened to laces....it was great...everyone there was having a great time...it was nice to see so many family and friends laughing and enjoying themselves .keep up the good work yucca bowl! It looks great...nice remodel!

Good little place to hang out. Decent prices food is ok not the best. The bar is awsome and they let you bring dominos inside ??. However Kelly at the front desk is very rude!!! Not welcoming at all and seems like its burdensome to work there. Im glad based on previous reviews ive read many others feel the same.

So happy this place is finally open again! We had such an awesome time. Had most the family there and taught my kids how to bowl too! Only bummer, they definitely need a quarter machine for the arcade games.

I am appalled with the service I received here. The lady behind the counter, Kelly, was beyond rude. It started with her yelling at my 7year old kid not to throw the ball in the gutter.. nextly, she did the same to my 8 year old nephew. I understand they have the gutter guards up and it makes the ball stick but they didn't do it on purpose. Then it moved to her arguing with me about the vending machine giving me two incorrect drinks (I just wanted her to be aware) Lastly, argued about the pizza we brought i

Honestly, if I could .. 0 STARS. the workers are horrible. FOUL attitudes. Never will you catch me here again. THE NERVE, of this PRETENTIOUS woman. Blonde hair and tie dye shirt I believe. Smells weird btw

Decided to visit the local bowlarama (it was my friend?s 21st). Unfortunately didn't get a bowl as the wait was 30 minutes and we had to get home before or dark or mum would have cracked it. Not Yucca Bowl?s fault it pumps on a Wednesday!!!!! Great vending machines. Fantastic Dr Pepper.

This place is amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the prices were good. $16/hr on a Saturday night or $10/hr on Friday night. Yeah it's an older bowling alley that has its quirks but I'm super glad it's still around and bringing joy to people who live here and those who visit.

For starters I have been coming to this bowling alley since I was in my mother's womb, I recently went for a birthday party and was just plain appalled by the neglect. This place needs a renovation desperately....sad to see the that the owner invests ZERO amount of money and time to do repairs. Only one stall in the women's restroom worked. The chairs are so worn they have holes and are black with filth. The carpet itself is such a tripping hazard, begging for a lawsuit. I understand vending machine prices

Very poor experience, the lane we paid 50.00 dollars to play with our kids for 1 game froze 3 times in 15 minutes, management moved us to the next lane over. Problem is you pay by the hour so halfway through our game (after being moved) lane shut down and required additional payment. When informing the manager/owner that we lost our time in dealing with the technical difficulties in the beginning he said in short you can just leave and refused to let us bowl any more at that point. Horrible place and even w

Amazing Experience, haven't been in there in FOREVER and I felt nothing but love, Shout Out to Kip the Bartenderizer for the bomb drinks, and all the rest of the staff for the hospitality!! Can't wait to go back.

Clean and well run bowling alley. The place is well lit and is incredibly family friendly. The cost for a lane for an hour is fairly cheap about 16 dollars. The bowling alley is cash only and offers an ATM inside so plan accordingly.

Adore the Alley. Especially since the redo during lockdown. Come here all the time with a group of friends. Bar and Snack Bar is great too. Always fantastic service.

Honestly I went into this bowling place expecting only the best. The people who own this place are rude as can be. They are beyond expensive. Same price even if you bring your own ball. Owners drinking while working and have the audacity to come to tell me that "how much i was paying for and that I was bowling wrong and as well saying I'm a child. This place IS GARBAGE!also assumed my boyfriend was a marine .. we saved all are money to come here.. chairs all broke. Outdated machines molding ceilings and not

Had a blast bowling and playing video games, with my grandson. Real nice people here. Fair prices, clean facilities. I definitely recommend this place for fun.

Good family fun. Good place to bring children. With a small place for quick bites and Dominos right next door. For the adults there is also a bar with pool tables.

Great renovations and super sweet customer service! Sally is a doll!! Tues special was $2/game! What a fun find after hiking joshua tree!

Awesome place and amazing employees!!! Very fun and lively people!!! They make is a fun place to bring your family!!! Will definitely be returning there many more times!!!!

It's your basic bowling alley. You won't see theme nights or hear thumping techno music played to a laser light show. It's just for bowling, sharing a pitcher of beer, and eating a slice from Domino's (located on the premises). Except for the alley itself, it's quiet. No colorful theme lighting, or atmospheric elements. A few old arcade games and a full bar. It could be more, but it is, as they say, what it is.

Pins fall out of machine. Pins won't stay up. Balls get stuck. Spent 30 minutes and 12-14 trips to the front to report it. Refused discount. Offered more time. No thanks.

I haven't been in since I was a kid and the new updates are nice. Staff was friendly. Now they just need to fix the air conditioning ????

The lane kept getting stuck, but friendly service overall. Only up to size 14 shoes, so if you are a bigfoot youll have to be prepared.

New owner ship I'm guessing since last yr ? horrible , rude, attitude.. have been coming here for yrs , no longer will, as a local that is something sad to say . Very disappointed in the staff here now .

Very nice. Glad its Remodeled. Burgers are super good and priced. We try go every Saturday eve.

Definitely nicer after the remodeling from last year. Quite a bit cleaner now with some decent frozen patty burgers.

Clean, friendly environment. Nice bar an pool table area.

Always fun and the snack bar will be open soon.

Decent, old school bowling lanes. Furniture in need of reupholstering. Reasonable pricing and clean bathrooms. They allow pizza carry in from Domino's next door.

What Bowling Alley Is Closed On Sundays! The Weekend Is The Time Families Want To Do Something Together And This Place Would Be Perfect IF IT WAS OPEN! NO WONDER THE PLACE LOOKS DUMPY YOU DONT LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!

We had a birthday party at the bowling alley. $60 for 1.5 hours of bowling with 6 shoe rentals, large pizza, and a pitcher of soda. Had a good time.

I go for the Tuesday night discount with several friends and we have a BLAST ! Just wish they served food . Good drinks and nice poeple that run the pkace

Visiting my daughter in Yucca Valley. She actually lives near here. Fun place to go and prices were reasonable.

Pretty outdated. Doesn't accept cards, cash only. Made it to the 10th round. Was 3 pins away from winning the game. Suddenly, the game shuts down and I can't play. Was so disappointed.

Fantasist Bowling Alley. The shoes I rented were ripped and didn't offer much support when trying to bowl. But great staff and great place!

Great Gig with Desert Arc disabled family.

Visited Nick's Bar/Lounge Good atmosphere, people playing pool. Quiet. We ordered pizza from domino's..pizza was awesome ????

iF YOU WANT "OLD SCHOOL" This is a throwback to the 70's! just bowl I say-sure there may be "technical" issues-like lane #9 with a loose synthetic panel 8 feet beyond the foul line, or bad spots from pinsetters after the first ball is thown, but it is fun to bowl and exercise. Come see the Seniors bowl Wednesday Morning at 11:00 AM, it's a hoot! FIGHT ON!

Great time. We had 29 people bowling. Great employees and fast service. Thank you for a great time.

My friend bowls there it's a cool place to go

The front desk gAl Mandy is just great she has a bubbly personality personality and just never stops working hard.

I always have a blast there! Sure there are problems... But we weren't in a hurry! Don is a great person!

Like the people that work there they're lik make you feel like family

Awesome place. Great staff. Fun for the family.

Love the new look. Great place to meet new and interesting people. Staff is great.

Reasonably priced, kids had a blast!! But they cut us off right at the end of our game

A friendly place. Kipp and Kellie are great people. Truly worth the 5 stars.

Very clean and a great place to bowl. I would definitely go back

Open Sunday to Saturday, Wednesdays till 3pm then closed for league night.

Best price around...great helpful and friendly staff....Newly remodled ...this place is an institution...a landmark!!! GREAT!

New screens and a complete makeover

Good family fun. Could use a lil updating but still all around great place.

Clean location and friendly staff. The snack bar has the classic: onion rings, hot dogs and frito pie.

It was fun the staff was friendly

Good place to bowl. They now have a food place inside as well as a bar.

It was great. Staff was really friendly and the place was well kept.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
