Really cool spot. Lots of retro arcade games but also video games!! Haven't played rock band in years and it was so nostalgic getting to play it again. They're open late too (2 AM on weekends) which makes it a great spot to hang for a date night or even with friends. It's an older crowd at night (they do BYOB after 9 I think) but definitely kid friendly during day/into the evening. Can't wait to go back!
Awesome place! So many old arcade games, pinball machines, a pool table, table hockey, even chess and checkers! They also have comfy, expensive couches & TVs set up with old & new systems and a wall of games to choose from! Prices are super fair. Like $9 an hour and you can play whatever you want. There are also drinks for sale if you get thirsty. They give you a wristband and you pay at the end. Paid parking right out front is $2.50 an hour. Alex was super helpful, he had great customer service! On top o
This is a must see, if i were a local i would spend all my time here. Every generation of gamer has something nostalgic inside. All games are free upon paid entry!! No need to worry about game cards or tokens!!!
Great experience with a 7th birthday party for my youngest daughter! Place was clean, party coordinator was kind, helpful and always asking if we needed anything. Food was served with gloves on and care taken to keep everything sanitary! Kids had a blast and so did all the adults!! We chose the three hour package and it allowed a lot of time for the kids to play, eat and then play some more! Will definitely visit again!
I love Yestercades! This is the second location I've been to, and I have no complaints. All the machines seem to be working fine. The price point is fair, and the bathrooms are clean. We were there on a busy Saturday night, and there seemed to be enough to do for everyone.
Great experience at this Yestercades. This location was super clean and very well-maintained. All of the machines were working. All console games and accessories were neatly stored in their respective places. In my situation, this was a perfect way to kill an hour with unlimited access to all kinds of games for the reasonable price of about $11. Lots of options including retro arcade cabinets, pinball machines, pool table, DDR machine and a variety of gaming consoles ranging from the old Atari consoles t
Visited this weekend for the first time. My son has been there before, but this weekend was a family day. First let me say the staff is friendly, kind and informative, made good eye contact and were a pleasure to deal with. Second the facility is very clean, including the restroom, however I would have appreciated towels instead of a dryer, but that's a me issue. The variety of games, arcade, pinball, video games is ridiculously large, they have almost all the original gaming systems. They also have ai
My 1st experience was the Yestercades in Redbank, but when I caught news of the Metuchen location, I had to stop in for a few, and of course, I had a hard time leaving. The vintage arcades and pinball machines made me get back in touch with cool memories ??. Yestercades also have a number of older game systems you can play. They combined an arcade feel with the comfort at home play. Prices are super fair, hourly rates and an all day pass are available. Definitely super cool.
So thrilled Yestercades has opened a location in Metuchen!! It's a wonderful spot to hang out and game with some friends. It's always impressive how clean it's kept considering how active it is inside. Staff is friendly and helpful. Huuuuge selection of games from arcade cabinets, to skee ball, pool, and video game consoles.
Fantastic arcade! Lots of excellent retro games, all the consoles, and classics. Staff was kind and helpful, the store was clean and comfortable. I'm excited to go back!
Had a birthday party here for my 8 year old and it was perfect. So many games to keep the kids occupied and everyone had a great time, including a lot of the dads!! Everything was clean and the workers were all very friendly and helpful. Booking the party was such an easy process and they were willing to answer all of my questions. Looking forward to returning here just to play games in the future!!!
Right off the Metuchen train stop and right across the street from a pretty good pizza shop. Yestercades was awesome. I went during the weekday and was about $20 an HOUR! GREAT PRICE!
My group came here for some arcade fun after a meal. Conveniently located on the main drag. Excellent collection of retro to modern games. Particular fan of skee ball, old school shooting games that takes me back to mall arcades in the 90s, NBA, guitar hero and mario kart. 10/10
Had my child's 10th birthday at Yestercades. Both kids and parents had a great time playing a wide variety of video games, skee ball, air hockey & pinball. Our party host, Jaden, was great! He helped set up, serve the food and made sure everything ran smoothly. He went above and beyond and even helped get our belongings in and out of our car. The place is clean and well run. Highly recommend this location!
It's a great arcade because they not only offer arcade games but video games. GameCube, Wii, etc. They also charge by the hour instead of per game.
Awesome retro arcade experience. Not just arcade machines, classic consoles like atari colecovision I think I saw intellivision too. Rates are hourly and not expensive. the main street has lots of food options with a few blocks, too. You have the arcade with the French cafe across a street. If that isn't a great date, I don't know what is.
Great place for arcades of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Definitely worth the price to play. I will come back again real soon.
Went for a birthday party. The selection of games, old and new, is impressive. Definitely going to have to go back for a few hours.
I went there June 7 and my friend had motion sickness they kicked him out told him to go home he wasn't drinking or anything I was very disappointed that the guy at the register told us it's part of their policy that anyone who throws up outside isn't allowed back in whether there sick or drunk now that is not okay i understand you want everyone safety but there was no need to kick my friend out just because he had motion sickness
Closer to us than the location in Red Bank. A nice time and a nice place to have a birthday party. The town was fun to hang out in afterwards too.
I have been to Yestercades in Red Bank, but this one and its location in downtown Metuchen?. Perfect in every way. Love taking my brothers here
They had a great variety of video games, pinball, skeet and every home console ever invented!
Clean place, friendly staff. Console systems are well maintained and the staff loads up whatever you want to play pretty quickly.
So affordable and so much fun. There is something for everyone .
Super cool. Old and new, it doesn't matter. Every detail is amazing. Having old consoles on display like the Virtual Boy makes me happy. Having arcade cabinets, pinball machines, and retro consoles, it's just good for an outing. 10/10, would amazingly recommend.
This place is amazing, for $10/h per person, you get access to tons of retro arcade games, pinball machines, air hockey, ski ball, and consoles across all generations. There's so much variety here, from Pac-Man and Galaga to beat 'em ups and fighting games, to racing games to even DDR, it's actually insane how much they have. After 9 hours of total time there (you get a punch card to track your hours) you get a 10th one free, which is a cool deal, especially if you plan on coming here a lot. It's prorated
Cool place, it's pay hour to play. Played Area 51, 1943, and a whole bunch of other classics that I haven't played in years. Even the fighting games sticks were worn like back in the days!
Awesome place! Have a bunch of console and arcade games, and pretty fair pricing for the amount of time you can stay there! We had an amazing time!
Newer "old" games, all in good working order. Good selection of games. Wish they move the pool table though, in the way and was worried someone would get hit with a cue. Overall, it was a fun way to spend an hour or 2 with the kids.
Yestercades is the best! This particular one has a slightly cramped layout and could maybe use better lighting. But so many great games! The pool table and chess board are nice, as are the console couches. Please though, remove or mute the speaker right above the DDR cabinet; it makes it really hard to play DDR!
Great selection of retro video games and pinball! Staff is super nice and helpful. A great way to spend an hour (or two) !
I must say I was expecting Yestercades to be cool and like any typical arcade nowadays, with mostly newer games. Yestercades Metuchen definitely is not the average run of the mill arcade, you're immediately greeted with major retro vibes (as demonstrated by the classic VHS tapes, playstation consoles, Sega Genesis in the display cases while walking in). The atmosphere is truly reminiscent of an old 80?s / 90?s arcade. As for games, they have almost all of the great classic, typically most arcades miss one o
Throwback after throwback of awesome arcade games and pinball machines. Areas for console play. Chess. Checkers. Even a pool table. It is an incredible place for fun and could see it working across all ages.
So happy that they opened a new location! Took the wife and kiddos here cause the kids kept nagging. Went here on Sunday and my mood has definitely improved since haha! Recommend this place to my closest loved ones. Love this establishment!!!!
Not sure what to think of this place. We asked a worker about the empty couch if it was free. Worker said yes, and that one of us should stay at the couch and another should go to the games to look. Then the worker came back over and said someone else was waiting for it. Are you supposed to put your name on a wait list or something for a couch here? You don't have to do that at the other yestercades? A few mins later we played the car racing game. One seat was stuck. Vibe was messed up from the beginning
AMAZING experience. Very nice staff and games.
An amazing gaming experience. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extremely clean and a really great environment. It's fun for the entire family!
Came for my sons birthday party. Amazing experience! They really took care of everything!
Really nice place get a lot of my childhood memories back with all those arcades defenetly coming back they have a nice pool table too
Fully enjoyed my visit. Only criticism is I wish they had some older, analog pinball machines.
Excellent choice of games and friendly staff. Went on opening night, and was impressed on how smooth everything was. Highly recommend!
Good place for adults and kids
What a wonderful place- not only is it a fun family outing (for adults too)- the customer service is top notch!
Nice friendly staff. Clean place. It was great
First time going to this location and it was so much fun. Staff was super friendly and my friends and I had a good time
Nice concept with the old time video games. Good spot to hang out for a couple of hours.
Hella fun ... And im old
First time at this location but love them all. Great place and I hope this lasts forever.
Very cool place and concept
Great variety of games from the past. Definitely nostalgic. Fairly priced.
Pro sterns & classic machines
Awesome experience. Will definitely be back with friends
Awesome spot. Happy to see there 3rd location. Great lay out.
I have waited for this to open ever since it was announced! Great place and a fantastic staff
The only Yestercade I've been to that doesn't allow Sake in.
Best place to hand out
Excellent birthday party option!
very fun and caring arcade :)
Amazing place to hang out and try!
Fun place and excellent pinball and video game selection. Great hours in a nice location. All Yestercades are a fun place for people of all ages.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
