Reviews Summary

The venue offers a mix of experiences with many praising its fun atmosphere, diverse activities (bowling, arcade, karaoke, bar), and good food, especially pizza and cocktails. Positive reviews highlight it as great for dates, friends, or family, with attentive staff and cleanliness. However, negative feedback cites long waits, broken arcade games, poor service, strict ID policies, and occasional racial insensitivity. Some find it pricey or overly security-focused. Great spot for a date or family time. However, if you're a real bowler, It's not the place. The balls wont ?hook? perfectly. They have great selection of appetizers - Pizza, Wings and fries. Cool bar area with lots of T.V.?s to watch the sports games. Pool tables and other fun games.

Favorite place in Little Tokyo, great ambience and perfect for hanging out with friends, family or your partner ?? Food options vary and the bar is always a refresher. Billiards and bowling sometimes have a wait time but just go on a weekday and you won't wait so long. Plenty of games to choose from, staff is ALWAYS friendly and so is the security. Place is also ALWAYS clean so shoutout to the cleaning staff 10/10 Been coming here since I was 19 ????? So this place will always hold a special place in my h

Irresponsible bar staff served my wife a regular Corona instead of a non-alcoholic one. Naturally, she took a few sips. She is 5 years sober and this is the first time this has ever happened. Please educate staff on the significance of serving NA when it is ordered. It should be treated with the same level of care as not serving peanuts to a person with a peanut allergy.

Went on a weekday and it was almost empty so we had so much fun! Many arcade machines and fun bowling experience ?? Go on a Monday for discounted bowling rates!

What a time! I have visited this venue several times in the past, but this last experience was truly exceptional considering we partnered with XLanes for our company holiday party. The planning couldn't have been easier. They ask all the right questions to ensure a smooth event. The team there on day of was super accommodating and attentive to our team and their needs. The team had a blast with the bowling room, billiards, karaoke room and arcade access. It's truly the perfect place to host a large party wi

My favorite date night spot for games and fun! Plenty of parking in the lot !

Awful service and terrible experience. I made a reservation for a lane at 5:30. They texted me at 5:13 and told me my lane was ready. I had two small children and didn't get to the desk until 5:20 which at that time they informed me that they had given my lane away because I didn't meet their 5 minute grace period policy. Also more than half the arcade games were broken so there was nothing left for us to really do. Horrendous night and we won't be coming back.

Came on a Sunday about 2 pm and it was really empty. Lanes, shoes and balls need serious replacement. No A/C so it was very stuffy. Didn't try the food and the bathrooms needed attention. Best part of this place is the 4 hour free validation.

I love XLANES but last night was a scary one ??????? The cauliflower wings were bomb but the roach definitely scared us off ?? I've been coming here since I was 19. Definitely seen it grow ????????

This place was good but now it's just ghetto. They confiscate your bags and hats at the entrance. And show of Id is required at all times. Not just after curfew. Goodbye Xlanes

A lot of the arcade games were out of order and old. The bowling lanes and actual bowling experience was fun. The food was okay, typical concession stand food.

Cool place for photos besides that SAVE YOUR MONEY! The bowling lanes and bowling balls are severely neglected with dents. Payed $85 for an hour of bowling and renting shoes. Staff was friendly but not helpful. We had high hopes but sadly won't be coming back again.

Such a great venue! There's lots of space for bowling, shooting pool, playing video games, eating, and drinking. There's also a few private rooms as well. Staff was friendly and place was clean. I look forward to hanging out here again soon!

Awesome time with the family for my 42nd birthday we had food and drinks and Karaoke. Definitely going Bowling ?? again

Went with my program, and we had a room with 3 lanes. The shoes are clean, though I will say they have very little cushion--wear comfy socks! Don't recommend sizing up. Your own size should be fine :) The food is decent and it was not alarmingly busy from 3-5pm. A lot of the arcade games were not working(with some not being stated as such), and a lot of our credits got eaten, but we were able to ask to get them back, so it was not completely terrible. Will go again though! Maybe it was just this time :)

I liked it, although it's probably more crowded at other times. It was comfortable for my family. The noise level was ok. Except for our singing :)

My wife and I came here with our two kids and the guy at the entrance didn't let us in because one of us didn't have an ID WHAT A JOKE THIS IS..

Great for wholesome fun with families & friends. There's bowling lanes, karaoke rooms, pool tables, arcade games, sports bar, a restaurant sitting area, darts, private event rooms to rent for special occasions. Friendly & helpful staff. Food & drinks are good. Some machines were broken but we were able to earn credits back. Safe space guarded by security personnel. Watched the NFL game here at their bar booth area. My family and i had a great time together, fun memories to treasure.

Fun place!!! We went there to play some bollards after we had Korean BBQ in the same plaza (Yaohan Plaza). Got a couple of pitchers of drinks.

Be careful coming here you are not cis and white or asian. Most of the employees are Latino but racist toward Black people, also see the attached photos for a taste of that. This latino employee pictured here called me the N word 3 times and we ended up just leaving. Try not to be the only nonwhite person if you do choose to come here with friends.

My Birthday celebration with my cousin, friends & coworkers. WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! I Don't sing but forced to karaoke. LMAO. Bowling took too long. So we shut down the place with Jump Jump kris Kross & Scooby Snacks. Loved them all. Prior to that the arcade was amazing. Everyone should check it out. VEGGIE pizza was good & Calamari etc. I just enjoyed it all. Fun place.

Had no issues during my visit. Reserved a lane online for a group of 4 and got there at the scheduled time. We got our shoes in quickly and started bowling. The only real ?issue? is how hard you have to press the console to change names and all that on the screen. But that's just being nit-picky. We had a fun and we'd definitely come back.

I super enjoy the 4 hour parking validation that they give and how you can stack validations. It is also located in an asian mall. It's not the nicest or cleanest looking mall but there are a lot of good places to eat if you don't want to eat at xlanes. However you cannot bring outside food or drinks into xlanes.

Loved this place . Plenty of games for the kids and great price. Staff is nice and attentive. Place is clean and food is delicious

Lot's to do, good bar and clean amenities but super early (7pm) cut off for youth. Reservations are held strictly too, not a gripe per se, but an item to note.

Fun, laughter and food a perfect combination to end the weekend, the service matched always friendly and fast to get you going with your fun with the family, friends or a date. Either way you decide you'll definitely always be back.

Fun place. Clean. Standard food and drinks. Nice variety of cocktails. Staff are helpful.

I absolutely love this place. I come to play pool, drink, and occasionally play some of the games. The food is amazing. The employees are friendly and place is always clean.

Good parmesan fries and the lanes were nice. They force you to pay for raggedy bowling shoes. Seems as if they went and purchased old shoes from some junk yard. I just refuse to believe this happened over time by just bowling and if so they need to realize when to cut their losses. You pay all this money to bowl and in return they don't have the decency to have presentable shoes.

Great spot for bowling, arcades, bar, pool tables I will be coming back I wish I knew about this place before.... staff is friendly also

This was probably the most janky bowling experience ever. The equipment and balls are really neglected but it did its job I guess. Being one of the more expensive bowling places I'v been to only adds to insult.

The machines were a little outdated and erroneous, but otherwise this place was not crowded, clean and at a convenient location. Parking structure is available, but I was able to find a street parking.

Enjoyed my Time there it wasn't crowded customer service was great and quick. Everything was super clean accept the bathrooms but other then that it was a great experience ??

Had a blast here. Also I ordered the nacho appetizer with chicken(extra). Will be back soon. Shout outs to all the staff on the shift there, you were all all cool.

Great place, lots of bowling alleys. Great prices, restaurant and bar inside. Also arcade games in which you can get tickets in some of them and exchange them for prizes

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Its a one stop shop. Bowling, food, aracades, karaoke, and bar. You can be here for hours. Definitely coming back again. Good place to go for a first date.

Adults need an ID to enter the business? Came here for the arcade with my two kids and since I didn't have an ID, I was denied entry. Stupid

My family, friends, and I had a really good. A little pricey to bowl, but overall, I had a great time. The staff was friendly and the waiters were also very friendly. I would like to return ???? I was unsure at first because of previous reviews, but it was proven wrong ??

All the billiard cues are crooked, they refused to change them, in fact, it's far from the best establishment where I played billiards, everything is very dirty, the service is not at the best level, and they ask for tips, that's too much

Best place for dates or to just go out with friends. I believe this to be an exclusive spot just because of its location. The cocktails are good. There are plenty of games to play, and it's 21 and over.

Restrooms are dirty, pool table area as well, but the vibe in there is pretty chill. Still a good place to play bowling or just grab drinks with friends. And their parking validation gives you 4 hours of free parking

The lanes were nice and staff attentive. Food was fairly standard. The arcade however was not the greatest. Several machines were not working, the card needed to be swiped multiple times to work. In some case the balance was deducted but the game not initiated. Clean this up and place would receive a higher rating.

I had a horrible experience I exchanged my 800 tickets to get a mini pool set and when I open it there is parts missing and the balls and parts did not function in any way as the box said

The staff was extremely rude, which was very disappointing and completely ruined the birthday celebration.

okayish experience placed in an okaylish neglected mall near the center of little Tokyo, by nature of this being an entertainment location in a surprisingly low foot traffic mall. XLanes only tries enough to be a somewhat pleasant experience, as noted by other reviews, the place is extremely neglected in terms of polish, presentation and usability. It spares a small collection of arcade cabinets that only half seem to work, being one of the few places to have a Pump it up machine, only for the screen to hav

Just dont understand why they dont let adults in if they dont have their ID just dont give them the wristband so they cant drink

We're Here For the First Time a couple of weeks ago it's a pretty nice atmosphere lanes are super super oily not really a bowling spot for a advanced bowler probably set up more for beginners because the oil is all over the lane it was really hard to find The Sweet Spot it's a 7 dot Lane so be ready for that but the couches were very comfortable if you're under 18 after 12:00 p.m. you definitely need your ID parking costs free because they validate but you can't bring any water or anything like that into th

My friends and I were looking for something new to do in Little Tokyo when we came across this place. We were able to get a lane set up very smoothly with no wait. There were some issues with the lane itself, but nothing we couldn't clear up without asking for help. Overall it was a fun and enjoyable time. Glad we went in! Also, the pizza here is amazing. It was my favorite part of the experience. ??

They double-charged me when I reserved a lane. I've called them twice, emailed three times, and even asked in person, but no one has been able to help me. When I called and went in person, they told me I had to email them because "the manager who handles this isn't in right now," but no one has responded to my emails even after following up three times. This is ridiculous and wildly incompetent. Additionally, half of the arcade games were either broken, glitchy, wouldn't read our card, or weren't counting/

We had our first and last visit on Sunday March 10th 2024. The pictures on their website are very deceiving, this location isn't bright, clean or fun looking. We received our lanes about 45 minutes after arrival. We kept waiting and looking for server's to take our food order but no one ever came by our lanes. After inquiring at the front desk about ordering food and drink, I was told that we would have to walk way over to the bar from our lanes to place a beverage and food order because all the server's we

It is very expressive. If you do go here I suggest you don't go Friday Saturday or Sunday. There are too many people on those days.

We get here. You have to buy a game card for $1 and then you can add amount of money and you slide card to play. My only problem is most of the damn games are OUT OF ORDER!! Waste of time. They need to service these games or put an out of order sign on the screen. Welp I dont think we will be back any time soon.

Had a very fun Friday night bowling with my friends! Just remember that you can't bring a hat or baggy pants on Friday!

Very pricey. Recommend to make reservations a day or few hours before for bowling. Gets crowed. Lots of fun. Any arcades, pool, and a bar. Overall, a place I'll go again with friends and family.

Stepping off the bustling streets of downtown Los Angeles, a haven for playful escape awaits. Nestled near Little Tokyo, this family fun center isn't just an ordinary entertainment hub; it's a refuge from the urban clamor, offering a safe and vibrant space for families and friends to reconnect. Gone are the anxieties of the concrete jungle. Inside, laughter and cheers replace the city's hum. Gleaming bowling lanes invite friendly competition, while pool tables beckon with the promise of playful challenges.

DO NOT GO HERE THEY CLOSE EARLY GO GET OFF EARLY. We arrived here at 10:08 thinking we were going to bowl with our friends (who were already on the way when we arrived). According to their website, they close at 11:30PM. We walked in, and the lady at the desk told us we couldn't bowl because they were closed. She claimed they closed at 10:15. That's not stated ANYWHERE. We saw people being kicked out from pool, and they started clearing lanes, so it was obvious they were just trying to close early. She star

Team building event. It was an awesome experience. Will definitely have to go back. FUN!

My bestie and I love this place to play Pool. Beers and wings while playing pool at your time. Very chill crowd and friendly spot.

Front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly. Our server Sean was great. We had a great time celebrating my daughters' birthdays. We are definitely going back.

Would be higher but 2 issues I have. 1. I ordered a burger with mushrooms but there were none. I am extremely disappointed. There are also two types of burger car good burger char that tastes fresh off a grill and bad burger char that just tastes like chemicals and burnt I paid $18 total for the burger and fries. There were very little fries and the burger was not worth it. But at that point I had already waited more than half an hour and I didn't eat all day so I had to put something on my stomach. Also th

Good place for friends, family or corporate meetings

We're pretty sure that this places rent lease is gonna expire soon so the management decided to put no money into maintenance of anything and is just trying to see how much money they can get out of things before it runs down to the ground. - bowling doesn't work half the time. The pins just kept falling down instead of resetting, the whole lane would freeze and need multiple resets, and they would randomly give out strikes even when the player didn't score a strike. But yet its still $65/lane per hour. m

Clean, fun environment, we took our daughter for her birthday. The staff were respectful, and we didn't wait much. Good pizza too.

Great service from Sean today as we did a sports ceremony there. Quick food, great service and clean place!

Took my family here for my daughter's birthday on Saturday night. Security personnel were courteous and professional. Free parking when validated. Cocktail prices were reasonable. Dress code enforced. No hats, no baggy pants and no gang attire. No outside food or drinks allowed. ID required. No vending machines for bottled water or beverages. All beverages can only be purchased at the bar if your not bowling or playing at the arcade. Food and beverages can only be ordered through their app when bowling. Fou

Fun place with ample parking. Good lanes and clean shoes. The snacks were good with the fries being a huge hit. The drinks were well made. A great time for a holiday gathering.

Lots of fun. Great place to go. Get there early

Had a lot of fun here tonight! The food was really good, the server was great, the karaoke lounge was a lot of fun. Unfortunately a lot of the arcade games were not working and they wouldn't let us bring in our birthday cake because we didn't have a receipt with us ??. Other than that it was a lot of fun. Don't skip the avenue 26 tacos around the corner either.

Excellent hosts of our annual Bowling tournament.

Need to fix their arcade games almost half didn't work

It's tough to find a good sports bar in DTLA. In that regard xLanes is a bit of a hidden gem in Little Tokyo, Arts District adjacent. Lots of TVs. 3 big projector TVs are front & center. They play almost everything except boxing & UFC main events. Great place to catch Lakers, Dodgers & NFL games. Game audio is played. Add a food menu, a full bar, a fun bartending staff & it's going to be a good time. ?????????????

So I was attending a work function. Reservation was for one of the VIP rooms. It comes with 4 lanes. Nice size room to accommodate 35. I checked in with Daniel. He's very nice. Completed the prepayment and went to the room. Kevin was our server. He had a great attitude and was patient with everyone in the group. The food came out quickly. I didn't see or hear anyone complain about the lanes. We were able to get in 20 minutes early to decorate the room. Security handles validation on the way out. My coworker

Good place, just to need reservation

XLanes is a pretty cool place. They have plenty of bowling lanes to accommodate a lot of people. The arcade is kind of small but they have some good games. There is plenty of seating at the bar and restaurant for eating and drinking. There is also a dart board area which is pretty cool. The only downside was there was only one bartender when I went. It's a downside because that's where people also order the food, so it was slow and the line became long. I felt sorry for the lone bartender taking all those o

Its nice what they have done with the place. Back in high school there was no real order in my eyes. Now this place looks more modern and awesome. They moved the billiards tables to there own room witch is cool and they added a whole new area with VR gaming. Will come back with friends and family. This place is also a great place for a first, second and third date. Only down side is that it can get very crowded some time so choose time wisely.

If you're going for the bowling DON'T bring your ball. It will get chewed up. The reset button won't work and the racks will be missing pins. If you're just fng off with house balls it's three stars.

This place is quite literally the worst place to visit. Went last night 3.17 on a date to the arcade. Only about half of the arcade games were available to play since the other half were out of order. Those that did work also did not work correctly after you swiped your card. Robbed us many credits just by this. Would have never gone in if I knew that. There were spilled drinks everywhere. This may have been due to st. Patty?s, but I will not be returning. You have to go through basically TSA just to get in

Great place to go bowling with the team or friends. Beer can come in pitchers and the bowling and arcade is a blast. Service is OK and food is deep fried as can be but hey its a bowling alley I'm not expecting fine dining. The fried stuff is pretty good too! If service was a bit better would have given another star.

Extremely Overpriced , $65 to bowl plus $5 per shoe is insane. The arcades suck too . Security is mediocre if there's no hats allowed there needs to be a better system for retrieving hats instead of leaving and finding out your hats been stolen! Security is unprofessional to the max! Do BETTER .Save your coin if you read this trust me go to Bowlero better even Round 1 or at this point Gage bowl will treat you better!!!

Good place easy quick bowling, a little expensive for my taste, but that's LA.

My friend said the pizza is good here, and I was very surprised how good it was, not only it was delicious, they were brought out very quickly. The ingredients were fresh. The dough was light and fluffy, even later on the night, there was no heavy feeling and heartburn which was very nice. 4 star is because there were bunch of empty lanes, and we were told there is an hour wait. Oh and the securtity is a little extreme for a bowling alley. Idk what happens there at nights. But do go there for the pizza.

Went here 4x's in a month in half . Need a new pos system always having to request to re-set Can't enjoy the games . The staff must feel really embaressed that they have this issue with bowling lanes 3 ,9, 11 , 12 , 13 .

Although the bar is wonderful and the food is decent, the lanes and people working the lanes are horrible. We rented for an hour. They did not tell us our hour started as soon as we paid (still needed to find balls for 6 people!). Stay away from lane 20! Broke down twice, over 5 minutes each time for them to come fix, DID NOT comp us for the ten minutes of lost bowling time.

Awesome Place...the entire staff was amazing treated us like VIP for my sons 7th Birthday Party

Great place. Didn't know it was there. Went to a birthday at x lanes. The food was good. The atmosphere was amazing. A little pricey but worth every cent. They have a arcade, pool tables and karaoke rooms also.

Fun fun fun love the bowling and karaoke we had a ball the food was excellent the bar tender was on point I will go again

I had a wonderful time for my birthday. Love the fact that it's on 3rd Street and they had a room 3 and my birthday is on the 3rd. Definitely a Sagittarius vibe type of place.

Great place for the 21 and over crowd. Bowling, kareoke , arcade and a bar. Can't get better than this.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
