I love this arcade but I really wish that the speakers on Pump It Up phoenix 2023 would work. Every time I go they aren't working. I went on 6/7/2025 and then came back 6/22/2025 and the speakers weren't working either of those times. Other than that it's great! Edit 6/25/2025: I was just there. I'm very happy that the speakers are working now! I cut my hand on the cushion around the bar. I would also like to comment on the sensors for pump it up phoenix 2023. The sensors are a little outdated. I would be
One of the best arcades I've ever been to. Jam packed. Great prizes. Much better than boomers or even Dave N Busters (minus the drinks).
One of the best arcades you'll see. At least 25 pinball. Its amazing
This arcade is awesome! Very new and updated machines with a great variety. My personal favorites are the pinball and dance machines.
5 star service cool little blond kid in front ???????? come here for fire deals
It's a breath of fresh air for the community of Santa Maria, there has always been much need for entertainment locally and The GamePlay does that and more. There's a lot of variety in the arcade machines and appeals to both adults and children.
It's cool to have an arcade here. I'd say this is a fun place for Santa Maria, but there are better similar places up in SLO. Specific to here though I will state that they have a good variety of games and generally the staff are pretty friendly and helpful.
The machines were generous and there was a great variety!
Great place. Good gaming. Awesome customer service. Family friendly
So much fun! Lots of games that even my 2 year old could play!
Outstanding selection of Disney loungefly style bags!
Great for kids and parents
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
