Nice inside. Lots to do here besides roller skating. Please fix the potholes in the driveway
We had a blast on a Saturday afternoon in November. Staff friendly and attentive. The general vicinity was clean and not overly crowded considering it was a weekend. Games were fun and easy to navigate with card. Roller skating was a top notch! Roller blades available too. Also bumper cars for the kiddos? hilarious.
Just got back. Saturday night 7-10PM session. Between my small party of 4. There were about 10 other kids in the entire place. Music was great. Lights were funky. Game area was fun for my son who did not want to skate. The Place is clean staff is curtious. Prices are great especially for a few hours of fun! Will be back again.
We booked our grandson's 10th birthday party here! Absolutely fantastic experience! Lots of fun things to do. We chose the ultimate glow party and it was a blast! 3 hours of fun! The kids and parents couldn't stop commenting on what a wonderful time they had! Laser tag, arcade, bumper cars, and of course, roller skating. Bravo wooden wheels!
Woodn Wheel saved us when a wet forecast threatened our son?s at home birthday party. In a panic, I called three days prior and they miraculously had an opening. Dottie was quickly booked our party and took care of all details. Well, we ended up being so grateful for the rain because my son and his sixteen friends had a BLAST at the party. Bounce house, skating, scooters, great music, pi?ata, arcade. We were assigned a host for the party and she took care of everything. The set up and timing was seamless.
Bad skates and if you ask for another you get an attitude from the guy behind the desk! raised prices! And you all also need a 4$ plus ten dollar deposit for a trainer for your toddler! Don't waste your time the place is outdated and over charging for basic things that you'd get for free across the Bridge at Hyde Park Roller Rink.
Hidden fees and somewhat dis honest advertising. Total cost to skate in the afternoon is $13.50, not $8.50.
Had a great time last night for adults night, the lady at the door with the rainbow scarf was very nice. There is one thing I feel needed to be addressed, hopefully so it doesn't happen in the future to someone else.. from the minute I entered the establishment there was a young man there with black gym shorts on, a black hoodie, Nike high top sneakers and a curly brown bowl cut whom was making fun of the shoes I had walked in there in.. I guess he didn't like my platform sneakers, it was evident he was mak
Great place to visit anytime with the family. As of now the skating and snack bar are open. Limited capacity guidelines in play and amazing opportunity to get the kids out of the house and active!! While present there was loads of covid cleaning going on to keep everyone safe. Support your local business and bring your family for some fun. Thanks for announcing our daughters 10th birthday for her!!
Wood'n wheels is a great place to have fun. There are many up to date games, bumper cars, laser tag, a rock climbing wall and more. It's really a nice place for a fun night.
Went here for my daughter's 15th birthday. We skated, played video games, bumper cars, and ate pizza. Everyone had a great time! Funny thing is, I think I enjoyed it more than the kids! It's relatively affordable, and a good time. Highly recommend!
NOTE- My experience at this roller skating rink took place approx. 6 days ago from today. My time at the rink was alright. First walking in seems like it's small facility, however once you get passed the entrance window, its a decent size overall. Skating throughout the session was alright, not the best floor for skating, being it was very loud, however skating along the floor was good. The size of the floor is kinda small, especially since you could tell that they closed off 1/4th of the floor for a small
We had a great time doing skating and laser tag and redemption games. I had been here when I was a kid more than 40 years ago and it still has all the good family entertainment value we enjoyed back then. Staff is helpful and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Glad they were open during spring break.
Just had my 5 yr olds birthday party there and it was fantastic! Staff was great, kids loved the pizza, cupcakes, ice cream and especially the skating. Highly recommend visiting with friends/family and especially having a party. Your kids will thank you for teaching them how to skate when they were little.
I don't want to get down on a small biz, and rinks are having all they can do to stay afloat. That said, this doesn't cut the mustard. Very small, over crowded, night sessions have too many 6-9 year old skaters using walkers while parents sit at booths and stare at phones. Zero personnel on the floor removing unsafe skaters or to control traffic flow. People skating in any directtion. Dangerous and not enjoyable. Beyond that, IMHO it's an unsafe rink. Metal railing with zero protection from imacts, perimet
We had my son's birthday party here today... I will start with the positive. We love coming here, in the cooler months we come almost every weekend to skate. Its clean, friendly staff and the floors are well maintained. The woman who is almost always at the front desk ( I do not know her name ) but she is wonderful. She is always friendly and helpful. She helped out when there was a discrepancy on our check and whatever miscommunication there was she graciously worked it out with us and was super nice about
Amazing! We had our daughters birthday there and it was perfect. Staff was wonderful, food was great. There was so much for the kids to do, everything flowed perfectly not rushed. I would recommend it to anyone. The birthday package had so much included for a great price. More than 5 stars!
I've gone here several times over the last 25 years. The rink is flat and smooth. Pricing is fair. But, rentals were either faulty or they are out of sizes quickly. Most rentals are old and uncomfortable after an hour
I have been here over 15 times now, and it is still the best roller rink I have ever been to! I love roller magic, but I have caught the stomach bug there four times now. I love this place and I will continue to come here and rollerblade! The staff are amazing, the place is clean and the food is very tasty. 5/5 would recommend everybody to come here because it is just a great place to be. I do have one request though, I think that this place really needs a professional floor guard. I have never come here an
If going there to roller skate it's great! But all of there other activities are not worth mention. When we went they were so short staffed that same guy was running bumper cars and laser tag, while manning a party - after an hour on line to get ice cream we decided to call it quits - luckily got our money back . Leading and virtual jump not even open? it was a waste of gas to get there for us.
I was there for my nephew's birthday party. The kids all had a blast!! They skated ,played laser tag , bumper cars and the ARCADE!! They all had pizza and ice cream. The staff was great!! I would definitely recommend having a Birthday Party at Wooden Wheel !!
Very nice throwback roller rink. My niece had a great time at a birthday party. The food was very good and the games seemed new. The employees all worked hard to make a memorable day for the kids. Highly recommended.
First time there as a party host. The kids had a great time. There were several parties going on at the same time, so the party attendants were all over. But they did a good job moving activities along, keeping the party on schedule. We lucked out with the weather and got to participate in the outdoor activities which were alot of fun. Definitely worth a visit.
I got framed for taking a little girls skate cart, a skate guard asked me about it and I said I didn't know and he said okay, then ANOTHER one asked me and I still didn't know. Then the owner came out and thought she knew what she was doing and claimed that I did do it and that I was lying, I asked for evidence but off course she didn't say anything to that. After giving me an attitude for 10 minutes I got my friend who saw the whole thing to come over and tell her. She still didn't believe me so that's whe
I go here a lot, and it's definitely a decent rink. I haven't tried their rentals in years since I have my own skates but once you find the right size, they do the job. There's handrails for new skaters and good music playing. The bright lights can be a little disorienting but maybe that's just me. Kids get in the way a lot and it's hard not to crash into some, but that's not the staff?s fault. The arcade is great, there's a good selection of unique games to choose from and the snack bar is also great. The
It's inexpensive! I think we paid $12 a kid to skate for 5 hours. That's including the skate rental. There's an arcade and they have a place to order food. Keeps kids busy!
Went here for ny daughter's birthday party. Absolutely loved the experience. Highly recommend tyke time for anyone woth kids 6 and under. Party included so much! I do wish they would put new carpet and stuff in. The interior could be visually more appealing. It looks as though it is the same from the 90s.
Pretty cool skate rink, and it also had laser tag as well as an arcade. We came as part of a party, so we didn't really want to overimpose. Some of the machines that when you tickets like the ski ball would sometimes not have the balls pop out, but we were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy. I just let the machine eat what I used with the card and let it be, but hopefully that doesn't happen often. My son had a ball with the bumper cars as well! I imagine we would go there again! Thanks for havi
Great place to spend the day with your family there is something to do for everyone from roller skating to laser tag
We typically love it here, but the new website is concerning. Why is planning a birthday party only for moms?
My daughter's love this place. They have an arcade, rock walls, bumper cars, last tag and skating of course. Birthday parties are a great value in comparison to other venues.
Went here for a birthday party. Great assortment of games & nice roller rink. The air hockey table is the old all metal kind which makes for an awesomely fast game as the puck glides beautifully. Wish the timer on it was a little bit longer cuz our games sometimes go on for a while.
This guy yelled at me to slow down when I wasn't going to fast then kicked my friend of. The guy was super mean and mean. I mean he got mad at me for standing by the air hockey table and he said ?this is not a table or a chair? like I wasn't even putting anything on it? He was aggressive towards me for VERY little things for example skating inside of the red line. The guy was specifically targeting us. We watched him do nothing about little kids going the wrong direction and breaking the rules. He only gav
It was a great place to skate, they have a small arcade, laser tag, bumper cars, and paintball. They are open year round, they have activities outside for each season eg:snow tubing. The only thing is the arcade should be bigger, the snack bar should have better equipment to prepare there food on the menu. Otherwise it was the first time going there me and the kids had a great day, it was something different to do. The prices were excellent.
The rink is very clean and the staff is very friendly! I only have two minor critiques. First, the music could be much better. There needs to be a better mix of old school skating jams and newer skating music. Second, there needs to be an adult skate night, because everytime I come to this place, there are children all over the place and many skate in the wrong direction, causing tripping hazards.
We have had 2 birthday parties there for our daughter and it's always been a good time. Thinking of one this year. Hope the day is open... pizza is good. Easy to just show up and everything is done for you.
Just had my daughter and three of her friends there for the robert graves fundraiser. The young guys outside that helped the kids with the outdoor activities were super wonderful with my little one. They were very sweet and kind to her. Over all our experience was great. All staff was very kind. Thank you for s fun night.
Fun and exciting! The climbing wall was fun. Everything was a fair price all around. The rink was a decent size, but really crowded and the food took a bit longer than normal, but was hot and tasty regardless! Definitely coming back.
It has been a long time since I've went roller skating, but I had a blast. There were four of us two adults, one young-adult, and a child. I think the adults had more fun than the children. There are not too many to be crowded, it was as you expect the scene to be. Kids running, children laughing, and a 35 year-old hosting their own birthday party there... love it. The only thing missing dot dot. 80s music
It was great to take the kids to do something fun after a hard year due to covid restrictions. We had a lot of fun! Only complaint would be the serious lack of hand sanitizer stations. The one I saw was outside the bathroom and it didn't work. We're so lucky to have a great roller skating rink in the area and I will always support this business but please add more readily available sanitizer because there's an absurd amount of germ sharing with all the surfaces being touched.
This place has been a funfilled place for as long as I could remember. I went here as a teen. The memories that was built within those walls will forever remain great memories. Till this very day, this place brings joy, fun and laughter to many. Keep up the great work.... Wooden wheels will forever be greatly remembered..
Affordable and fun. Great that if you don't want to skate, you don't have to pay to just stand there. Love that they have those walker things to assist the little ones on there first time on skates. We will return.
Went to birthday party, the parents rented for 25 kids, under 700 bucks, get to skate, laser tag, bumper cars, and arcade including pizza fries tenders, and ice cream cart, 2hrs, best idea for a kids party, might do this for my kids
Their driveway is the worst pot holes beyond(literally if you have a car it will come out damaged ) and they have nothing available at the snack bar easily available. Yes its more about the fun not the food but have somethings more easily ready. Gaming area was fun a tad costly but the skating area was nice. Some of the young workers had a tude ..but that's the generation.
My daughters party was today. And it was a little bit pricey. I had a talk with the owner there about something I disagreed with and he made a compromise with me and made it right being the money that I was spending. Amanda the host of our party was on top of her game. All and all it was great and everyone seamed like they had a good time
We are so happy that we chose Wood N Wheel for our son's birthday party. The staff and activities were outstanding! The value in their party packages is also unmatched in the area. Highly recommend this awesome, fun, family friendly atmosphere!
I had my 6 year old sons birthday party here and it was fantastic. Tons of different activities for the kids to do. And Lazer tag was a big hit! Our party host Rose was fantastic and made sure everything and everyone was absolutely perdect5
For the past 3 years, all my kids birthday parties has been held here because I'm one of those parents that hates party planning. Wood n Wheels does it all for me, from uber fun activities, table settings, cupcakes, ice cream, pinata and tokens for the arcade. All I have to do is book and show up. I love this place!
Great place to have a kids bday party My daughter was SO happy with her party. Their prices were the most reasonable in the area. Each party has a hostess ours was amazing, and very attentive. 10/10 would do it again.
So much fun to be had! Skating, bumper cars, and laser tag are a blast! Fun for all ages. Great music too!!
Really nice place. They have rock climbing, laser tag , an arcade and other cool activities besides skating.
I went to wood and wheels when I was 14. That was 47 years ago. It was the place to go. This is WAY before internet, cell phones, etc. Teens would BEG their parents to give them money, and drive them! I lived in Kingston, but, many kids came from Saugerties, High Falls etc. Back then, it was roller skating only. WONDERFUL. I met my future husband there as well as many boyfriends! I live in Cape Coral Florida for the last 31 years, BUT, I dearly miss Wood n Wheels!
My husband took me here for the first time this past weekend as a fun date night. He's from the area and it seems this place was pretty popular when he was in High School. We had a lot of fun. I think the place could use some updating here and there but for where it is located, being a little outdated just adds to the small town charm (in my pretentious city girl opinion). I think they should consider purchasing some more inline skates/roller blades at least. There were none available in my size when we wen
Didn't expect much, but when we got there, the atmosphere was very family friendly. Lots of games and devices to help newbies to learn how to skate and clean restroom ??
Rather dated and can be quite $$$$ if you have more than 1 kid. It is fun for children of all ages tho. It is VERY annoying to keep track of the skate assist device. Other kids take them then you can't get your deposit back. How about just make them free like the ice skate rink in Saugerties?
We had a fun time bringing our 4 year old on a Saturday morning, played on the bounce house, roller skating and those little seat vehicles. He had a blast, we would go again.
1/15/2023 Bathrooms are done and looks like they took notes from the bad reviews. Attentive employees at every spot, no waiting and this party was organized. First time in a few years. I'm pleasantly surprised keep it up. A HUGE HUGE HUGE improvement now fix the dang driveway
Feels like no one is putting any effort into this anymore. The music is lame and so low you can barely hear it? there is no one watching the rink. Kids skating every which way candy wrappers all over the rink too many kid walkers and parents not watching their kids. Fell twice because of this and I never fall. The snack bar is utter chaos. Two teens with no care or training trying to run a snack bar. Mediocre fried food. The whole place just feels like it's run out of steam. A shame being that rollerskating
Great place for the kids. The packages need to be rethought though. If multiple things are down you still pay full price for the package or have to buy everything individually. I brought my son and his 5 friends here for his 7th birthday and spent 45 mins at the counter trying to pay and sort that out. A bit ridiculous.
I was here for a sweet 16 with a photo booth. Just want to say what a great time I had with the kids . Family owned and it show how much time they have invested in this roller skating rink. Excellent place for the family to have a great time.
Great place to take the kids. Skating was great not too much people. Very good music. Games could be updated but were ok. Laser tag looked fun even had bumper cars. The prices are great for anything you want to do.
A good place for kids, lots to do. It centers on the roller skating rink, but has a decent arcade, a laser tag room and bumper cars inside. This visit was for a birthday party so a semi private area was rented out and they provided pizza and cupcakes. There is a snack bar as well.
Went for a birthday party. Had a nice roller skating floor but all the carpets and walls were filthy. Many of the machines were taking kids tokens and others not giving tickets. The mens room smelt so bad of urine that i had to walk out and leave early. Anyone that walked near would have a had A hard time breathing. Yes that bad. All i can say is no managment or oversite. And with the bathrooms being that neglected there is no way i would think of eating their.
Birthday parties are completely disorganized...zero communication, its a free for all and you are ledt to fend for yourself. There is no where near enough staff in any aspect; party attention, skate patrol, food service. They will not let you bring in food but you will wait on a line of 6 people for over 30 mins at the "food court". Since it's the only roller rink around...it is what it is but it's way more frustration then it's worth.
A strange, but magical place that feels like stepping into the Narnia of my childhood. The booths in the food area look like they are from the 80's and the skating are is in the middle of the place. The arcade is modern and decent with ticket counting and all the normal prizes that can be earned with your tickets. There is a giant slide that looked pretty fun, outside, but it was closed in the evening when we got there. There is also a climbing tower outside which looked pretty good for kids. The people who
The employees are friendly, the environment is fun. Bringing my daughter's here is always a good time.
Must admit I like it better now that precovid. Parties used to be so close together and would be hard to move. But now you can move and enjoy yourself. Always loved this place used to go every Saturday when i was younger. Happy to see its still here.
so, this place SHOULD be five stars. But it is so outdated- not cute outdated- but gross outdated. Carpets feel like from 1980s (or older). They dont sell knee pads or wrist guards or anything. They dont even have helmets available for kids on the rink- which seems just weird. If they had some better food options, cleaned up/updated, they could increase prices and be slammed busy all the time. It is still fun and good for what it is. Because it is upstate and inexpensive, it gets 4 stars instead of 3- but
Son went here for a birthday party. It was great. They provided everything and we're friendly and attentive. They have so much more than roller skating.
Giving it 5 stars, it made my 7 yrs old grandson happy..his favorite The Bumper Cars..my fianc? and I also love the cars...There is also a skating rink with awesome music, a billard, a concession stand, a few arcades, and depending on the season, there is paintball shooting, tubing, etc. You can celebrate birthdays n other events. Has parking space. Prices are reasonable. One downfall, they should have more working games, some were out of service. Other then that..GO CHECK IT OUT WITH YOUR LIL ONES, THEY
Good place to have fun. But I see way more kids then adults at this place. Parents drop their underage children off and leave. Not a good idea and sure won't ever be mine being left alone
Fun for kids and adults! In addition to roller skating, they offer laser tag, bumper cars, and a rock climbing wall. Great arcade area, too! The staff was courteous and helpful, and the facility was clean. We will be back!
my happy place. Would be great if you played way more throwbacks and old school tracks. Also would be great if you could like crack a door or window open? it gets crazy stuffy in there... but love y'all so glad you are back open!
This place is pretty cool. It has a lot of games available for kids. It is a little busy with the roller skaters, but it is what it is. They also have rock climbing wall bumper cars and serve food and drinks. Pretty neat place
i took my grandson there for a birthday party, wow that was awesome the place was fun alot to offer, and clean!i recommended having a party there!
Wood n wheel was incredible!! The kids had an amazing time! Wood n wheel was a pleasure to work with!! Everyone was super nice to the kids! Everything was super organized and fun! Highly recommend Wood n wheel!! Hope to come again!
Great place to go skating with your kids, or for young adults to enjoy time together. It seems like a classic from another era, a real treasure.
Just went to a birthday party here with my daughter. There's so much more here than I remember. Skating, games, laser tag, dock climbing, tubing, paint ball. I can't believe how much there is now. Skating rink keeping up. Awesome
Family friendly fun evening. Skating rink and arcade was lots of fun on a Saturday night.
AWESOMELY AWESOME good is ok ok HELP...(the young kids need better training) GAMES THAT WORK **Floor is in good condition** Great for any kind of celebration (prices need to include more people) * bathrooms need to be updated and to put little speed bumps in the floor of the bathrooms so people don't fall or rug(ew)* People don't realise that they need to take off the skates b4 there tinkle. Rollerblades n skates bed to be updated but ok condition. Over all fun!
Always a great time with the family.. great for parties.. the staff is friendly and kept the kids busy for 4 hours straight with planned activities??
Great old fashioned roller skating hall with paintball and Lazer tag, bumper cars and arcade.... plus food. Great place for any fun living kid.... and big kids too!
A lot of fun for the kids. We love the chicken tenders.
It is a great place for me after school and kids.??? it is the best place. But when little kids go like 4 to 7 they get knocked over like. The big kids need to watch out
Here we are again ! Just came today for yet another birthday party and it was really radicolus how your bouncy house is directly in the hot sun as to the little one was in the shade , Well what happened my daughter's went on it to have fun but my oldest daughter got burned on her body now you must understand my kids are special needs children and can't handle this type error your business it doing and to have children standing on hot pacement with socks in over 100 degree temps is unbelievable would you do
We love this place. People are friendly, entertainment options for all the ages, and affordable.
There is a lot of stuff to do with this little building. Skating, arcade, laser tag, bumper cars and paint ball the list goes on! Unfortunately I had a oopsie
We've thrown a few birthday parties here very reasonably priced and tons of fun especially the outdoors activities not to mention the roller skating.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
