Westgate Lanes, Pub & Grill, Arcade & Billiards

Westgate Lanes, Pub & Grill, Arcade & Billiards

Reviews Summary

Westgate Lanes offers a mixed experience with many praising its fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food, especially burgers and onion rings. Bowling, arcade, and pool options are popular, though some note outdated facilities, high arcade prices, and occasional lane issues. Service quality varies—some staff receive high praise, while others are criticized for rudeness. Pricing is generally fair, but some find axe throwing and arcade games overpriced. Live music and weekend bands add to the appeal, though noise levels can be excessive. While many enjoy it as a family-friendly spot, inconsistent service and maintenance issues detract from the experience for others.

Customer Reviews

It's an okay place to do a kids party. They have arcades of course bowling drinks for adults. Plenty of parking. Nice host

I went this Friday and the bowling lanes were packed. One of my favorite things to do in there is the pool tables, always been a fan of playing that with my friends. They recently opened up an ice cream place there. Accessible from the outside and inside. The ice cream was not bad, but it was also cheap as well.

Great staff, great food and the tables are excellent! I've been on bowling leagues here and now a pool league. It's a lot of fun great social experience. They always have excellent cover bands on the weekends. Feels like a family! I'm so glad I joined a team after years of not playing! Great way to meet people! Westgate Lanes is 5 stars for me!

Dear Management, Went in Westgate Lanes to specifically play a few games of pool with my daughter & nieces who all were over 21 except for 1 who was 20yrs old, yet told we couldn't play pool since she isn't 21 since it's in the bar. That rule is ridiculous!!!!! It is for a game of pool. It supose to be a family friendly night out, which it is false advertisement. I think you need to reimplememt how you can make the experience family friendly. Maybe move the pool table out of the bar area or change the rule

So much fun..great staff...free parking...delicious food....a nice place to come visit with the family...alone or date night ??

Staff is super nice and the bands they get to play in the bar are actually really good. Food is good and alley is kept clean. You can tell the owners care about this place. Most of the people that come in are nice and chill. I've had a bunch of different conversations with people just hanging out at the bar. Over all it's a good time if you're just looking for a night out of drinking and socializing.

Walked in and knew a few people who work here from Way Way back. It was good to see Tommy and Evelyn. Then I Taught some Pool for a while and had a Good Time. Adam been here for 14 years as well, he's really welcoming and courteous, He will help you with anything you need ! Jane the bar manager has been here 15 years. She's so nice. Arthur has been here for a grip doing Security, Keeping it safe! The Band is Always Nice to here . ~ Friendly & Respectful

Great place. Recently renovated the games section. Could improve on stocking on the small bowling balls. Currently, they make the customers get them themselves if you go there early. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Tables here are well taken care of, as are you by the staff, wonderful cast of crew there, Hi Karen, love your mai tai

The parking was very odd. I believe the lines had faded to a point that all the people parking just winged it. The venue itself was pretty nice, big multi function place with a bar, axe throwing, arcade, bowling, ice cream and food. The tall seats which had a great view of the band were bolted down and this uncomfortable as you couldn't adjust the distance to the table. We got regular height seats off to the side and still had a good view. Plus there was security there so I didn't worry about people get

Had so much fun Candlepin bowling! We stunk! Great family game. Should be available all over the USA! Also have a pub, children's arcade, pool tables, axe throwing, golf simulator and 10-pin bowling. They'll soon have an ice cream, Bobo shop!

It said $20 after 9pm per a person unlimited in till 12am. When you only have 2 person bowling they charge you $40 for a person bullshit. Then why you said it all you can bowl for $20 . Oh we have to charge you guys minimum of four people . Yeah but we don't have 4 people's.

Eat Before you come Herre. The Server on this Sunday was So Rude. I would not even want to be coming back here again. They Brought the Food out to late. Normally the Person that usually serves my food is the Nicer person but this one on February 23 2025 between 12pm to 130pm. Like I couldn't even fuel up and Enjoy Bowling and Food it Came at the Last minute. Why would I Ever want to be going Back to Westgate lanes there waitress is rude

Pool was fun, drinks strong, you now order at the bar versus when they used to serve you at the tables while you play pool. Usually short staffed, but the food is great, environment is chill, and a good time

I was there for the candlepin bowling, which was excellent. People in our party are and drank, and all were pleased!

Been here a few times. Mixed experiences? while this is the cheapest place to go bowling near Boston, past few visits have come up short. If you're just looking for somewhere reasonably priced to bowl near Boston, then this will work. But I'd recommend going elsewhere for food. A few takeaways for the 3-star review. The DJ for cosmic bowling had a solid playlist, and people were enjoying the music, but it was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation so we left after our first game. The food was a

I like how they renovated inside! It feels more spacious now with a bigger and more attractive arcade! We had a very good time there!

Kind of slow getting a server when bowling, everything is more expensive and nothing is really better food and drink wise. Axe throw is wayyyy to expensive, if they revamped pricing maybe one person would have used it in the hours I was there. It is my home alley though. Just haven't been in a while. Got rid of pool tables so it's hard to get a table now.

They said they usually oil the lanes at 4pm on weekdays fyi (before the league bowlers come in) There are only a few non league lanes during the weekdays so you may have to wait for a lane

Do NOT change your formular . It's a great venue . Live music on weekends too

Took the kids tonight! The huge arcade looks great, but all the games they added are $1.50+ a play (and also hard to see since they hide the game prices inside the westgate logo on the card readers!!). They also don't do half price games on Monday & Tuesdays anymore, so the play doesn't go as far. Hopefully they'll add that back soon?

Great venue to grab a drink and apps while listening to live music. The options are great here and gets crowded during the night time. Lots of parking and seating on the inside.

Been a long time since I've been to Westgate Lanes. The place has some renovations, video games, 10 pin candle, pin and pool and karaoke

I had fun bowling with family. Very nice atmosphere.

Family and I went bowling for the 1st time this past Sunday and it was great! The wife and I haven't been to the Lanes since we were teenagers so it was amazing to see how much it has changed and for the better. We were there for 2 hours and got food using their specials so all in all it was a fun afternoon for a great price. All of us had fun which is always nice to get a thumbs up from a 4 and 7 year old. The woman behind the counter was really nice and even gave the kids little prizes which the kids wer

Been looking for a good standard ten-pin lane. Westgate was all that and more. The lanes were high quality Brunswick lanes, good oil patterns, and had very courteous staff. The pub staff were great and brought food right to our lane and were very kind. The alley also offers candlepin, has an arcade, bar/restaurant, a pro shop, and hosts many leagues!

While there have been some noticeable improvements, the overall service?particularly from the general manager and the security guard?was disappointing. They need to learn how to interact with youth more appropriately. The general manager yelled at one of our students who had innocently stepped onto the bowling lane to retrieve a stuck ball. Instead of calmly explaining the rules and asking him to call a staff member for help, she chose to shout. Additionally, the security guard constantly followed and moni

Not from here but gotta say best bowling alley I believe I've ever seen. Did not try food but nice presentation and portions from purchases I observed. Large place, bar, arcade, are throwing, video driving range, 8 tables really can't ask for much more. Worth a visit

Perfect place to eat, drink, and watch sports whether if it's with the kids, friends, or date!

During our visit to Westgate Lanes in Brockton, the front desk employee at Shaan was incredibly helpful. He guided us through the bowling process, ensuring we understood everything from lane selection to scoring. He shared interesting facts about Westgate Lanes, mentioning its rich history dating back to the 1960s. His enthusiasm made our experience enjoyable and memorable. We left feeling excited about our time spent there, and he encouraged us to return for more fun. Thanks to his excellent service, we'll

Local bowling alley that meets all expections of a local bowling alley. Clean and staff was nice and plenty of lanes. Pub for beers and good. Waitress service at lanes. Older building for that 90's feel but everything that needs to be updated has been. Electronic scoring. 10-pin style

I haven't been to Westgate lanes since the early 2010's, but, I have been coming since the really early 2000's and this place is amazing. I've been coming here since I was a child so I've went through the birthday parties here, family bowling day on the weekends and even having lunch and dinner in the pub. The Westgate lanes does get busy but it isn't busy enough for you to get a lane or a pool table to play with family or friends. It is always a good time and nice place to spend time with your people. Same

I used to love bowling here but ever since the new owners took over, the place has gone downhill. They went from oiling the lanes twice a day to oiling them a couple times a week (unless you're in a league). Sad to see the direction this place is going.

Great Place for Family fun or young adults

This place upgraded their arcade, they now have axe throwing, and a golf simulator. We only played ten pins and went to the arcade. The guy working was great, very good service!

I've only been here a couple of times lately in March 2023. It appears a few of the arcade games do not work but they do have quite a few for the younger people. I don't know why they won't get fixed. The pool hall area is acceptable and clean, tables are decent. The bathroom needs some help like new paint and the ceiling tiles are pretty stained. It makes the owner look really cheap not giving the men's room a cosmetic face lift. I don't know about the ladies room. Now let me talk about the lanes. The

Wasted 30$ on an Uber and an hour of my time on vacation to come bowling at 3 when the website says they open only to find that they are closed to the public for the day, no idea how the bowling is as we weren't allowed inside

Service was slow and they were far from crowded. The construction that is going on inside is emitting horribly aggressive fumes? I honestly don't know how the employees deal with it regularly. I developed a massive headache from the overwhelming fumes and paint scent. I received a glass of water from the bar. The waitress gave me a plastic cup to pour it into to take with me to the arcade. I then noticed after drinking half the water that it was literally tinted brown. I've been coming here many

Went here on a date. The staff was friendly and the live music was amazing. Only reason I'm going 3 stars is because when I was bowling the pins were falling before the ball hit them, also the pins were getting stuck and it took over 15 min for service to fix out station. The food and bar was okay. I had fun regardless of the technical difficulties.

My heart sband and I went to shoot some pool, something we used to do a long time ago. We enjoyed the atmosphere, tables were good. Ours could have used resurfacing. The employees were friendly and helpful. We plan on going back again!!!!!

after 9:30pm on Firda& Saturday nights it's $20 bucks a person to pLay unLimited amounts of games of BOWLING! They have LOUD music pLaying, sorta Like jamn'94.5 or Hot96.9 type of music, which kinda pumped me up whiLe bowLing! They have a LiVE band in the bar/Lounge area(away/separate from the bowLing aLLey)which was pretty cooL, considering my bf&friends&i got thier at 8:15pm(&decided 2wait untiL 9:30 to pLay-so we went in the bar, had a few drinks 1st&watched some older guys pLay cover Rock music & they w

Good pinball games. Most of the rest of the arcade is just reaching or chance games.

Enjoyed a few hours with my wife playing pool in the multi table hall. We had food and drinks delivered to us either in the bar or the pool hall. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent buffalo wings, celery, carrots, and blue cheese.

Still in disbelief about how we were treated by the middle aged blonde woman at the bowling alley renting the shoes. We would have stayed for much longer if she wasn't so rude. I would recommend anyone to not go here unless you're willing to have a good time interrupted by arrogant staff. I will definitely never go back. Spend your money at Kings or Boston Bowl, it's much better spent there.

Had our family come here, management was super helpful for our group, the golf sim was a hit! 10/10 would recommend

Went to cosmic bowling, which is supposed to be from 9:30-12:30 with a dj. Got there at 9:30, and there was no dj. We were playing a tournament, and at 12 they turned all the lights on and closed down bowling. That is my only complaint, everything else is amazing! But when you pay for 3 hours of bowling and only get 2.5 with no dj it is a little questionable!

The arcade is overpriced, a lot of machines are consistently broken, and staff are unhelpful. Mondays are half price in the arcade so that helps a little, and there are a few fun games to play if you're here anyways. However, it is still a fun place for bowling & billiards. Bowling is a bit expensive at night but they do have early specials. There are candlepin lanes, as well, and they fill up fast. Regular bowling seems to have more availability. Very fun atmosphere. The billiards room & bar has a very

Waitress Karen was extremely rude to our party.

This place was one of my least favorite experiences in MA so far. For a place that looks so unimpressive, the prices are surely way up there. I was there with a couple friends and service was slow. Food was decent, drinks were horrible. Everything is overpriced and underwhelming. Beware, as gratuity is already added & waitresses will not give you a heads up if you don't notice this and will happily collect more in tips if you're not paying attention. I voiced my concern to management & though they were will

I play here in a couple of bands and it's always a good time. Have heard complaints about the seating setup, but that's not my feedback. Staff and security are always friendly. Food is good and reasonably priced. The bowling alley and pool hall are nice features to have as well.

Wonderful place to be with friends and family to just hang out. I had not been to Massachusetts in 30+ years and this place was a great ?welcome back? spot. Reminds me of a place where me and all my siblings used to hang out, Cloverleaf Bowling Lanes in Miami-Dade Florida; the only thing missing is the karaoke.

I brought my grandsons and husband to Westgate lanes and was so surprised, since owners has changed I see this new owner did a lot of cutbacks and raised up the prices like crazy. The food sucks, my chicken fingers where smaller and hard and didn't have no taste to them. They use to be big and juicy. My fries was old and soggy with oil. My grandson loves fries and he said I don't like those fries. The quesadilla was so dry and was awful. My sister told me their food has gotten bad. I should have listened to

The hourly rate scheme is much easier than the old way. Everything in some state of disrepair however the prices are fair for a fun family outing. Skip the arcade if you can the value is just not there. The prizes and payouts are good but the games are poor in selection and not great value.

Excellent burgers, gotta be 1/2 lb. Perfectly cooked. The rest of the menu looks fabulous. PLUS! They have great live bands every weekend. Always a great meal and a good time with nice people. The wait staff is very attentive. Kelly was our server, none better!

Just had the worst experience on a Saturday night. Got switched 4 times because the lanes kept breaking down or they weren't returning our balls. Was told by the kid working that he would tend to me after he helps get shoes for the lady at the front desk. Worst customer service ever. Only good part was the waitress was great person and helped us as much as she could. Even got a free round. Until the lane broke down again in the middle of the free round and we decided to cancel our food order and spend our m

It's been awhile since I was there I like the new look

Decent place to play pool, fair prices on beer, but trying to get food and beer while playing pool is ridiculous. They have one guy working his butt off trying to take care of everyone. They seriously need 2 or 3 people doing it. Its just too much for one person to handle. Hes a real nice guy, and does his best. The business should help him out and hire another person.

Hi, there well my girl friend and I been going sense a very long time before it even changed owner probably from earlier 2004-2005, so I have my share of good time good food dance play almost every entertainment probably my first date with my present fiance. Just that 1919 with the pandemic everything slow down but still recommend to any one that want to have a good time and enjoy the good food and live music on weekends Thanks west gate lanes

I would give this place 4 1/2 stars. It's really nice. Fun place. It's a little dated but still a good time. Fun for adults and kids. I recommend this place and would definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Lot's of fun, held a family reunion, plenty of rooms, games and food. Great place!

After paying for 15 bowlers they wouldn't let us PAY for an additional bowler. All that money spent and they won't even let us spend more?

My family and I order from the pub about once a week. Consistently great and fresh pub food with friendly service for take out. We LOVE the cabin pizza and Caesar salads. Burgers are also very good. Great family place for eat in as well. Not fancy but satisfying food, good prices and nice waitresses.

This place has definitely went down hill, the staff is super friendly as always but man the food here is disgusting, they completely changed their pizza, wings, and tenders. Not sure if it's because of the new owner, but I definitely won't be back for a while, super sad too because they used to be awesome! Still a great place to bowl and get a drink but food wise, I'll pass. I'll give it another shot in the future but not any time soon.

Worst experience I've ever had a bowling alley. my daughter is autistic and will only drink out of her water thermos which is spill proof but was confronted harshly by the woman behind the counter. she would not allow it inside I tried to plead with but she was short and rude in her response stating "No exceptions " repeatedly

Pretty terrible all around. We went 6ish on Tuesday night wanting to grab dinner before bowling. Service was slow even though we were the only table in the dining room for a good half hour before one other table arrived. Food was just bad and way overpriced. $17 for sad picture included. Also, we were told no lanes were open since every night is league night. Would have never eaten and wasted the money if we had known.

Went for an event. Lanes were horrible, almost stopped bowling the lanes were so bad and almost unsafe. Tried to get food afterwards and the service was I dont even know how to describe it. Our waitress literally left things were so bad. The bathrooms were so disgusting I would have preferred a porta jon outside. Totally not worth thinking about going. Management should be ashamed

The bowling was fun. Probably the cleanest place in Brockton. They offer candle pin and regular pin lanes as well as an arcade section where you can play games and win prizes. They also have a restaurant that's in the same building, stand-alone as well with its own door so if you don't want to stay and bowl you can still enter and from another side. I got The Westgate Triple Play which had 3 chicken 3 mozzarella sticks and 3 stuffed potato skins.

This is a good place to go bowling and they also have a area to play pool in the pub. They have live music on certain days. They also have an arcade for the kids. The food here is outstanding. I totally recommend coming here for a night out or even during the days a good time..

Friendly staff. Good food and drink selection. Foods not bad drinks are good. Nice place to have family fun or a ladies night out. They also have a small arcade. Lots of game options.

Enjoyed a relaxing evening, had great food especially the onion rings which are absolutely delicious. If you havent already try them once you take your first bite you'll know what I'm talking about. Be sure to meet server Karen she is gracious, warm spirited and funny! ?

Loved bowling at this place Tuesday night. Great place to enjoy my evening. We only got mozzarella sticks from the kitchen which was good. Everyone on the staff were cool. Clean place too. Will definitely go back.

We were down the road for a birthday party event , but it got cancelled and googled this bowling place. Completely random . We are not from the area. Had a group of twelve year olds and six adults. The kids bowled and we grabbed some food and drinks at the bar . Was really skeptical on food just because we've all had bowling alley food before and it's never been good. But we were all starving and had to eat. I am still in shock at how absolutely amazing the food was. I ordered two entrees, And if we weren't

It was a fun place with decent food, drinks and Great Friendly service!! Lots of pool tables and bowling planes!! I will be going back and promise to take lots of photos!!

$6.5/person/game, $3.25/shoe. Or $20/lane/hour + shoes. Simplifying, it's more worthy to do per person games if there are more than 3 ppl. Downsides are not enough balls and not enough varieties of weights. I could only find a single 6# with XS. People who play around you could be rude, or super high that make 2 lanes away can smell. Pros are their machines are sensitive and bring the balls back fast.

Haven't been to the bowling section in years, but I visit the pub section every so often to see a cover band okay. Again, I have not come to the pub to sit down at a booth for dinner, so this review is strictly based on the bar area- specifically during events. It is tight. It can be congested. And service can be a bit slow. I don't typically mind. I enjoy the show, the food is always tasteful. You definitely get a good amount for your dollar. Drinks are good. Staff is kind. It's overall a nice environment

Fun, low-key, inexpensive bowling alley. They have an arcade area now too which is fun after a few rounds of bowling. Food is good, people are nice, and even on a league night it wasn't difficult to get a lane.

The worst place to be, the woman at customer service for the arcades is a racist without manners, and education. She has a temper problem she shouldn't be on customer service but instead in a place for anger management sessions. I would never recommend this place to no one.

Great time bowling but I loved the arcade. They have a very clean place and do birthday parties abs have packages to save money. If you have a few hours to kill I recommend to throwing some quarters into the air hockey table. They also have pool tables that are rented by the hour.

Nice neighborhood place. Staff friendly and attentive. Pool league on Monday the day I went on one side other side with plenty tables for non league folks. Bar food. Bowling and Arcade also. Something for everyone.

How has it not been updated yet?????? I come often but the stalls still have no locks, hand dryers suck, lights too bright in pool area, no music in pool area. AMAZING DJ tonight, male server/bartender amazing (he's always there) fantastic!!!! I think his name was Tommy. Female in charge of billiards always great.

Bowling was awesome??. We waited an hour for our food and only got 1/2. Then after another 30 minutes I had to go get the rest of the food myself. I will eat before I go instead of wasting my money.

Newly refelted 9' Gold Crown pool tables, indoor golf, axe throwing, and a great staff whenever I'm there.

Big. Small dance floor in the pub. DJ Monday nights. That's nice. Food is good. Staff is nice. Wait can be a long spin for your food. While you bowl someone comes over to your table and takes your order or you can walk back to the pub and order it but they'd like for you to stay at the bowling lane and order

Many bowling lanes - candlestick and ten pin. Pool tables, bar and restaurant. Diverse customer and employee base, which made me feel welcome. The white pizza was especially delicious. Facility was clean, smoke free and family friendly, at least when I was there recently on an early Saturday night, 6-8pm.

Great place! Lanes are well kept and the pool tables are always maintained to the highest level. Food us hit or miss but it's a pub so if your looking for 5 star food, you are in the wrong place.

We had a good time. Although it's pretty stuffy, with as many people who go un there the place could use a proper ventilation system. The Lanes is also severely understaffed. You have 1 person handling all of the bowling things, and ticket booth for kids prizes, and whatever else he has to do. You have people waiting in every direction for assistance that 1 person cannot possibly do alone. I think I saw 2 or 3 waitresses who needed some help towards the evening. Finally there were 2 bartenders who clearly w

I have been injoying myself there for years. The staff are friendly and take good care of you. The food is good and the price is fair. Everything a adult could want is here under one roof and plenty of parking spaces. I call it "The Spot".

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
