Customer Reviews

Nice enough, we certainly had fun. It could use some updating but was clean and the pizza was delicious. I have very large thumbs/hands so it is kind of hard for me to find a ball that fits that is not exceedingly heavy. They actually had a 13 pounder that was XLarge so that was a plus.

The front desk workers were super polite and knowledgeable. Answered every one of my questions with ease. The place was clean. Equipment worked. Only reason I have 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the large amount of games in the arcade being broken.

We had a birthday party here and I was honestly blown away. I hadn't been in a while, so I didn't know what to expect?but everything was amazing! The place was so clean?like spotless?including the bathrooms (which is rare and impressive!). Everything worked perfectly, from the lanes to the scoring screens. The facilities were in great shape. The food was hot, fresh, and actually really good?everyone enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the whole event went off without a hitch. I still can't

Western Bowl offers arcade games, bowling, and concessions. The staff was friendly and helpful. The equipment is well used but the atmosphere was fun and inviting. Saturday night $65 for two games and shoes for 5 people.

Saw an entire family just stare rudely and whisper amongst themselves about a group next to them before just getting up mid-game, leaving a mess of food behind, and failing to even do something as simple as return their shoes. They left the nice miss working there to clean up after their mess by herself. I really hope it was actually an emergency, otherwise i truly believe good christians and southern hospitality is just too far and few in your family.

It's fun but also a rip off. We were told that on Saturday night there was a special to bowl from 11 to 1 for $15 so we stayed and bowled. Well it ended up being 15 per person. 3 of us stayed and ended up paying $45 when on the previous 2 hours we bought we payed $60 for 5 people but could have had 6 people for the same price. So 11 to 1 actually costed more.

My family came in on Saturday night spring break. We were discouraged about the wait time, but definitely understood why. We discussed going to do something else. We went to take our name off the wait list, but Brady at the front desk asked us to give him 5 minutes to see what he could do. He got us a lane shortly after that. He was so nice and friendly to my family and I. I greatly appreciate him. The only reason I would not give this 5 stars, is when I went to get drinks the staff at the restaurant part w

Solid old school bowling good beer prices. I shot 6 games 289, 279, 248, 237, 170, 206 not in that order. Pinsetters need work but I had fun.

Jordan took such good care of us on Memorial Day!

Fun, free bowling for ladies on Monday nights. Drinks and food available. Good time!

Amazing family atmosphere, great food and drinks.. staff was awesome and attentive to our needs and very accommodating! Will def be back!

Everything was sooooo expensive you need 100 dollars for 2 people to enjoy themselves the price for the food is ridiculous we could have spent less at a steakhouse

Western Bowl is great. Probably the best bowling place in town. They have days and times set aside for leagues, as well as a great kitchen (currently being renovated), arcade area, private VIP section, AND LASER TAG!! this place is fantastic, plus, they have great deals for the summer, perfect if you have kiddos!

Western Bowl is a great place to take your family. It has many different areas where you can have fun. Staff is friendly and are very helpful.

Kitchen employees are good honestly the only thing good... have a game area that barely has any games to play.. workers standing around instead of helping or cleaning. Place needs a serious upgrade especially for those prices..

Great bowling alley! Lots of fun, with arcade and laser tag. Always enjoy coming here. I know the owner and manager, they are terrific.

We come weekly and it's been an amazing family experience that keeps us coming back!!

Easy to schedule Wonderful Staff Totally Organized & Ready to go the moment we walked in!!!

As far bowling kids had an awesome time, pizza and game tickets the person in charge had no clue. Pizza wasn't ready, kids got no games cards. Sooo unorganized I don't think I'll book ever book another party here.

Fun place to go the food is great it's clean and had a blast with my family

Great area for kids and adults. My son had his special Olympic tournament at Western bowl and it was very organized.

Great time getting together and having a bowl! Nostalig place to go with folks.

had super fun. Made it easy to just come and bowl!

I love this place I love the people putting the love and hard work into the business

Awesome service.. kids had fun

Been a while since I was here but really enjoyed the time spent. Lots of bowling lanes, sometimes it's packed so check and see you might have to wait a bit to play. We did but it was worth the wait.

Honestly, staff was 100% nice and very helpful. However the facilities and restaurants on the other hand were absolutely horrible. So for starters had to switch lanes because gutter balls registered 4-6 pins and strikes were 2-4 pins. The 2nd lane was just as bad and didn't work. We asked what time the restaurant opened and was told 5. Staff didn't get there till 5:12 and still didn't accept orders till 5:30. Got told 15 x2 on the pizza and it came out burnt. Asked what time the bar opened and they said 5 t

The night crew is absolutely amazing! They always make sure we are very well taken care of and go above and beyond to make the experience unforgettable!

Great value in bowling! The best place in Amarillo to go!

Fun, good food, great staff.

Fun spot to bowl. It does get packed. Good service!

Lovely place, great enviroment and people friendly

Been the same since I was a kid. Always a good time. Great staff. You gotta follow the rules. No redbull from outside. Lol. And you can't lie your way through. But hands down 5 star

My husband and I had a date night, the first one in 2 years. We hadn't went bowling in 20 years. It was fun

I like the Birthday package of the VIP room ,weve done this for a couple of years now and always have alot of fun with our family and friends.

We had a party of 5, and paid for an hour to bowl. The lanes here are on their last leg from our experience. Couldn't really enjoy bowling for having to call to get someone to service the lane we were on! The place absolutely needs to be upgraded! The lady at the counter did comp us with the time we missed due to repairs, but the experience was super frustrating all in all.

Always a great experience bowling with my kids here. Pizza was delicious. Took 30 mins for the pizza to be ready. Very cheesy and nice and hot well worth the wait.

Well, half the games were out of order, so that was a bummer. Otherwise, it was ok. The kids had fun in lazertag, but the best part was the staff. They were so welcoming, nice, and made it a better experience. The pizza and wings were good.

Went there for the first time today. Pretty good place nice and spacious, food variety isn't that big. Prices were pretty normal for a bowling alley. Employees were nice and helpful.

Just wanted to take a minute to give Teeley (not sure if that's spelled correctly) a shout out. We weren't sure if we wanted to play by the game or by the hour and she went over the price difference with us to help decide. Then our lane wasn't working correctly and she called maintenance, only to find out we have to switch lanes. She reset our time since we were waiting. She also was handling a couple other problems during all this and still had a smile. Great job on her part!

These lanes are the worst! I will not spend another dime at these trashy, non-functioning lanes. There has got to be a better alternative and if not, so be it! Couldn't even finish the league games tonight due to lane malfunctions. Waste of time & money. Never again! I will not be back!!

Had a lot of fun. People were very nice and prices were definitely reasonable. Although the group are definitely amateurs.

We stopped in amarillo overnight from az,we where looking for something fun for the kids to do. This is the worst place, the arcade was closed to us but when someone came in and asked to play they turned on the machines that would work, the prize room was closed they had all kinds of employees but Noone would open it. The laser tag was closed and they didn't know if the employees would show up for the prize room or laser tag!!! Very disappointed I would not recommend to anyone!!

Always enjoy bowling with my family here.

Overall, it's a good bowling alley. Some of their mechanical equipment needs maintenance because balls will get stuck and not return, it won't rack all ten pins, and some of the bumpers don't come all the way up. Sort of the same thing with the arcade; a lot of games are turned off and stay that way for weeks. We haven't tried the food, but it smells good and a lot of people seem to get it.

We stumbled on this bowling alley by accident. We had pizza, drinks, & a great time! We will definitely come back+

Enjoy the experience and the vibe it gives off

The bowling was fun. The problems were many. The setup machine kept messing up. The chairs weren't very comfortable but fit our base need. My biggest complaint was the don't have very many balls with larger holes. I should have had a lighter ball. My back got really sore. I won't be bowling anytime soon.

I needed to update my post. This year is MUCH BETTER than last year. They have made lanes available for kids bowl (even with tournaments). The staff is usually nice. I would have put 5 star but this year they discontinued their SHOE PASS. I am still grateful though.

We had a wonderful time. Raley made the setup experience easy and very customizable. The other staff that helped the day of the event were also a pleasure to work with. My only complaint was there was not enough time, but is there ever enough time when you are having fun!

My intentions are not to be mean but you don't want to eat there. Terrible food. No professionalism. Took half a hour to get some sliders and walking taco. Looks unclean. The food was horrible and cold. The cheese was cold and sticky by the time I got it.

Its good if you can actually get a lane last 2 times weve come in 3 weeks there have been no open lanes, they use the bigger side for bowling league and the small side for normal bowlers, confused why league is more important than normal players This is an on going probably for years now bowling league takes priority at 5pm im not allowed to bowl because they have to get it ready

Super kind and helpful staff.. and great food!! love coming here for their bowling deals

Had a great time with the gabby! He had fun in a great atmosphere and wonderful staff!!! Top notch experience!!

Western Bowl is an Amarillo institution! The best bar in town, so much fun, great bowling, laser tag, and the best employees!! A hidden gem!

Fair warning- if you do not get thete before 5 don't bother showing up until after 10! We waited for 2 hours in the bar before we were able to get a lane. That said, the desk staff were 2 young guys who took great care of everyone that was hounding them for a lane! Shout out to the two guys running the front desk!

Horrible. Went in a little before 4 for a family date night. Bar wasn't open, snack bar wasn't open. We were told the snack bar opened at 4. It wasn't open till about 4:25. They came on the intercom at 4:50 to tell us they were shutting the lanes off at 5 so everyone was rushing trying to finish the games they paid for.... this is a place for leagues. Just skip this place and go to cinergy!!

My lane was dryer than my ex wife, I ordered Whiskey and water, the water had a brown tint, I'm assuming it was a little coke because there were a few drops of it on the lid. Whiskey was fine. It's a good place for the younger bowlers, but if you're a leaguer, maybe not so much. Music was fine but I can't get over how dry the lanes were.

Bowling is fairly priced ($49 for 5 people for an hour including shoe rental) and drinks and snacks are cheap! We had an issue with our first lane and our balls weren't getting returned and it took forever to for the pins to reset, wasting a lot of our hour. We told them what was happening at the counter and they gave us a new lane and some extra time! Super fun place to bowl with the family.

Disappointed. I counted 13 lanes open and most of the people there were on a waiting list. The wait time at the least was 45 min. We were there on a Saturday around 3pm. There were quite a few video games not in service. Felt like they didn't need or want our business. If I were you I would call ahead and get on the waiting list and maybe when you show up you might get to bowl. Again very disappointed with the efficiency of getting people on the lanes to bowl and I don't blame the people working the desk be

We had a couple of issues with our lane specifically during a Saturday night. The staff was very helpful and attentive to solve the issue quickly. Good music playing, good drink prices, and the lane prices weren't bad either. We had a great time!

My family and I went and had a blast playing the Laser Tag. It was so much fun and they did a really great job designing it. We played a few of the games they have. I like the rechargeable cards they have. They hold your ticket count. They have done a really nice job on renovations. We will definitely be back.

Yall buggin out yall want for us to pay more for what we came for

Family birthday celebration in the VIP room was perfect. Great service, great food, and so nice to have the entire area to ourselves. We will use this facility again!

The arcade was OK. It looked like a great place to go bowling. The issue we had was the kitchen was under construction. It was lunch time. They had pizza not much else . It would have been nice to know that before we drove all the way over. Maybe next time we are in town we will have better luck.

Western Bowl has always been a favorite place to take my students for their end of year celebration. We wish we could have the good food and private party room we once had there but overall, it is lots of fun and easy to work with. We will return year after year.

Pretty sad when literally half your arcade games either dont work at all or something is broken on them. Prizes are pathetic too.

Everything was super clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. We ordered food from the concession stand area, however, and it took over 45 minutes go get our order. It was crazy! The bowling was fun and their attention to the birthday party that was going on was superb.

Place was garbage, staff no where to be found we had two groups of three and forced us to go on one lane and when we ask why the guy said ? because I said so? then flexes his pecks at me like he was tough. Very rude and unprofessional..balls are chipped and garbage.. go to eastern bowl

Our organization, Junior Achievement has partnered with Western Bowl for many years for one of our yearly fundraisers. Our guests always have a great time and compliment the food and service. They are great to work with and we look forward to many more years of fun here!

Went here for our sons 16th birthday. He had a blast and so did we!

So thankful they have remodeled and added new stuff. The staff was friendly for the most part and laser tag was awesome! It's terribly sad that 5$ does not go far in the arcade. Lower the game prices some so we can spend more to play more.

I wouldn't even be writing this, if I wasn't so frustrated at the lack of transparency for wait times. We walked in at 8:00pm on a Friday night, and asked for 2 adults, we were told it was a league night and that it would *probably* be 9:30pm before we could get a lane, understandable- they were considerably busy. We were not informed of a wait list except for, ?come back at 9:30?. We wait, we come back, we are told it would be *probably* another 30 minutes, and we ask about some kind of contact when it's

Great fun! Good place to take the family!

We went for my daughter's 5th birthday today but I messed up & didn't realize it was a league night. The employees still helped squeeze us in & both my daughters had the best time bowling! Every employee was so nice too & we loved that there arcade games worked well & were $1 or under! It was the best experience! Thank you so much!

Great people ?? and fun experience

Nice, clean bowling alley, arcade, bar. Super helpful staff as well as very clean. Smoke free.

Lakeview Elementary took a field trip to Western Bowl. It was a great experience for our students and staff!! The customer service was exception! When we arrived the students shoes were ready in each lane, the lunches were served according to were the students were bowling and all of us were taken great care of!! I would definitely recommend any school or group of students attend Western Bowl for a field trip!! Thank you Western Bowl!!! The customer service was excellent!!!

This was my first visit at "Grills Go Wild". I had the most delicious breakfast . I can not even begin to tell you how good it tasted. I ordered scrambled eggs with ham and had hash browns and toast with gravy on the side. Those of you who were raised on a big breakfast will enjoy it and the price was a great deal at $5.99. I will definitely be returning.

Has gotten a little pricier but worth it. My little 7 year old and her 10 year old cousin had a blast. You have the option to add bumpers that automatically come out when it's the bowls turn so the hassle of pulling the bumpers out and back in is gone. We went on a Friday night and they had the black and strobe lights on. We will definitely will be back again.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTE TRASH! Horrible customer service and understaffed. Don't book a party here and save yourself the headache. We ordered pizzas for our party and still have not recieved them and our party is almost over. The man working the register is so rude and mad because hes over worked but he still should not have put his finger in my face when i tried to talk to him to shut me up. Go to cinergy or anywhere else. Horrible experience and a waste of money I will never come back.

Because I love western bowling alley so much. They "#1 here in Amarillo tx

We booked a retirement party for my husband and had a blast. We thought 2 hours to group bowl might be too long but "The Bowl" let us go over time. Laser tag was included but we didn't get to play. We were too busy bowling and visiting. Vouchers maybe, for a return trip? We want to do this again! And these old people wanna do the tag! The staff was super thoughtful and even provided forks and plates for the desserts. NOT part of the deal. It was clean, ready, separated and semi private, affordable, and no r

EXTREMELY RACIST. White folk running this business that want to keep their clientele white. I've lived in Amarillo my whole life and have never felt as disrespected as I have walking in the doors of this establishment. I believe in judgment of a man based on his/her character not skin color. This cesspool of an establishment should be avoided at all costs.Unless, of course, you're Caucasian. East ridge bowl is an superior diverse alternative.

Had a company function here and enjoyed it very much! Some of the shoes have seen understandably better days which is the only reason for the 4 star.

Great place for family fun. It needs to be cleaner, but kids make messes, understandable with so many people that come here. The arcade area needs to have maintenance on 30% of the games... I love the Lazer tag area.

Bowling is great fun and good exercise. I have bowled on a couple of leagues over the years. The environment is now smoke free and the staff is courteous and professional. The lanes are well maintained and update to date. We booked the VIP room for our staff Christmas party for the last couple of years and it is a staff favorite. Give Western Bowl a try. You wont' be disappointed!

Both times we've been here our lanes were fairly faulty. The concessions guy was very rude and acted like we were stupid for asking just a couple of basic questions. They do not leave the food open until they close, they close it early, and they have an entirely separate area for just alcohol. It seems like a lot of the design was an afterthought. Overall, the staff seems uninterested and assume you're an idiot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
