Awesome retro arcade with plenty of more modern stuff too. Pinball, Cabinets, racing Sims, basketball to ski ball, air hockey and pool, this place has your game ready to play. Only downside is many of the "shooting" games are wildly off target or do not work. Small gripe but it's the only one. 13 bucks gets you an all day pass to play games, watch movies or even play retro favorites on consoles. Well worth your time. They also serve pizza, wings, and other foods so you can plan a whole day here.
New favorite happy place! Perfect selection of machines, good atmosphere with art and nice merch. Between the food and lounge I easily spent 7 hours here. Respectful flat entry price with membership option. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for me.
The best little arcade! One flat cover fee and play as long as you want! Tuesdays are buy one get one free entrance fee! Coffee shop right around the corner. So fun!
This place was awesome ?? for adults and kids me and my son had a blast ?? there's even a bowling alley in there.
We had my son?s birthday party at Wayback?s and it was a fun time for kids & adults alike! The atmosphere is so nostalgic and brings back the best of times from my youth. If you need something to do but have a small budget to do it on, this place is where it's at! $13 and you get THE ENTIRE DAY to play!
I don't think I possess the vocabulary strong enough to describe how awesome this place is. The games, classic, fighting, pinball, shooting, driving, console, all on free play. The music, the food, the staff. It is too good. All of it. I left with every joint in my right arm sore, I gamed so hard. Don't miss it.
For the most part everything was amazing. Great selection of games, everything was reasonably priced and the food was pretty good. However, most of the shooting games were off, out of order, broken or not usable. While leaving, my family and I proceeded to buy shirts with Michael at the front. Requesting sizes and colors as instructed, Michael seemed to have trouble keeping the requests in order and had to return multiple times to ask what type/size of shirt. After about 10 minutes, and a few trips to th
If you wanna travel all the way back to the 90's, take a trip to Wayback's Arcade in Pineville! There's over 100 FREE PLAY throwback Arcade games to choose from & there's even a wall of actual throwback gaming systems with tons of games! Nostalgia at it's finest! The food was good, too! We had a blast!!
A lovely well kept family spot for arcade games! New and old Consoles and arcade styles billiards and air hockey We enjoyed our family day out! Will definitely be back time and again Thanks for the friendly faces and hospitality Pineville!
Took me Way Back, when I went with my Central Louisiana cousins! This place is too much fun & loaded with nostalgia. What I wouldn't give to play Miss Pac Man again without quarters! Only $13 to get in & play ALL DAY! The workers Nathan & Marshall were awesome, & made our yummy lunch of wings & pizza, & they even serve naked wings for the GF folks!
I have 4 kids so it was a teeny bit pricey for us , but otherwise $12 per person (you can say "I'm not gonna play!" But you will. Trust me.) for all day play is not a bad deal any way you slice it. Speaking of slices! They have Hunt's Brothers Pizza! Best pizza in town IMO! They have other menu items , candy , drinks , appetizers etc. Tons of games -only a handful that cost actual money- pinball , DDR , console games , and so much more! They'll need to expand the dining area/add more sitting spots soon for
I'm very happy we have Wayback?s in Cenla and it takes me back to the arcades I grew up with, like the ones I played with my brother at the movie theater that our maternal grandfather would drop us off at for the afternoon. And it's great to introduce my daughter to how games used to be instead of having to use your finger for everything on a smartphone, which is fine, but not the same, and she sees that now.
Best time! So much fun. Insane amount of options. Clean. All working. Traditional, old school, arcade, pin ball, shooting, driving, etc. Staff was great. Food was great. Will definitely return.
A very good arcade and the only arcade in Louisiana where you can actually play this Japanese game.
I don't think there's anything like this around here. $13 for a day?s worth of fun is unbeatable, especially when most places charge per round per game. Here, you can jump around to hundreds of games without worrying about extra costs. They have the games you'd want and more. And the $35 monthly pass is a steal. Plus, the food is inexpensive and reasonable. Can't recommend it enough!
This little journey back in time is awesome! Flat entry fee play all day. Great little snack bar too! Pizza, ice cream, chips, candy and drinks. Great family fun, especially for anyone that was a teenager in the early 1980's. We will definitely be coming here again. Loving the pinball machines! All your favorite arcade classics are here waiting for you to come play!
I can't say enough about this place. It is great for all ages and the favorite place for my son and I to play together. The wall of pinball machines are awesome, as well as the room with old gaming systems. And my personal favorite, Ms Pacman.
Wayback?s is so cool!! $13 per person to get in and all the games are free. They have everything from Tron and Galaga, to air hockey and Area 51. Decent selection of pinball games too.
This place is awesome, I would definitely recommend checking it out! The ability to play classic games without having to constantly put in money was so cool!
This place is a must see for any body who loved the arcade in the 80's late 90's and early 2000's . Save your quarters the entry price is unbeatable and you play pretty much anything with the price of admission. This place is hands down the closest you'll get to a trip in a time machine ??. I can't wait to go back the even offer a pass to play free for life, stellar !!!!!!
This place is absolutely awesome. All kinds of throw back games and a great time for the family. The pizza is great and the people working are awesome. We absolutely love it here.
Waybacks doesn't nail how arcades USED to be, they nail my dream of how arcades SHOULD have been. The entire time I was there, I felt like I was walking through a dream, and my entire family felt the same. This is a must do if you are ever in the central Louisiana area.
Really cool concept, we really enjoyed the place! There are three huge rooms full of various games ranging from pinball, fighting, skeetball, hoops and air hokey. Our favorite was the imported Japanese games! The only issue is there were a few that had broken parts on them. For example, 2nd player gun at the star track voyager would work. 2nd player joust fly button wouldn't work etc. They need to upkeep the machines otherwise its going to get worse. We didn't try the food however it did smell very
Like traveling back in time to when the Odyssey was open on Jackson St by the old Godfather's Pizza. Great variety of pinball machines and a very large selection of most of classic stand up arcade cabinets. The best part is only $13 to play all day. Now I have to go ice my hands. LOL.
so fun and nostalgic. great pizza and great customer service. fun to go with just two people, a large group, or even alone
This place was fun like being in the movie pixels mashed up with a time machine. $12 at the door and play all day all night and you can leave and go back that same day. No quarters, no cards, or anything. You just hit start on all of the machines and play. They had old school and new arcade games, pin ball machines (a stranger things one too), the driving games, bball, ski ball, air hockey, ? My boys are all gamers, but even I played and had fun.
Literally hundreds of arcade cabinets and pinball machines available for a single, flat entry fee. There is nothing else like this, that I'm aware of, along the entire southeast United States. We spent four hours at Wayback's and barely scratched the surface of the games on offer, and we will definitely return for more Skee Ball the next time we are in the Cenla area.
Waybacks is SO awesome, this has become one of our regular hangouts now. You can't beat the admission price for all-day access to the entire collection of games they have. So many vintage games that span decades and brands new games too. Every console you can think of... even air hockey and foosball! We're huge fans of Waybacks and made sure to buy the t-shirts too!
Always have a good time here! They have great games like guitar hero, classic donkey kong, super Mario bros, and they even have consoles to play on!! There's not much to do in central LA but Wayback?s is a place that everybody loves ??
I didn't know the games don't require quarters...I would have come here sooner than I did. The entry price is totally worth being to play unlimited arcade games. Pizza wasn't the best...seems like a last minute addition but the kids liked it.
They took me back to my childhood days, only back then we needed quarters to play! Here we can play all the games after paying admission. I love it! They also have food, drinks and merchandise. Great place for family or date nights.
ok so I hosted my baby birthday party here today .. first the booking process was so easy and quick .. manager was very very helpful 10 stars to her .. also the girls that hosted my party very sweet nice and did everything to make us feel at home .. I recommend this place for families and even just a cozy date night .. will be getting a membership good job waybacks ??
We absolutely loved our time at Wayback?s! The staff was extremely polite, and the pizza was amazing. Also, the entrance fee of $13.00 is a steal to be able to play all of their games ALL day long. Overall 10/10 experience!
I am so glad my 6 year old begged me to bring her as we pass it daily here recently. This place is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. I was born in 1980, so I grew up playing Nintendo, Pac Man, Sega, Atari.. you can feel the love and passion and every detail that went into this place. I can't even imagine the amount of money they have spent on all the machines and paintings, dining area, etc. all of it is just perfectly designed. I love how you pay an entry fee and play the majority of the gam
Awesome environment! Pay 1 price at the door and play... that's it! No fee at each machine or headache of carrying around a pocket full of quarters! The food is good too! This is family friendly or just a date night! Great to have in Pineville and worth the drive if you don't live in Pineville. We have never had a complaint at all, the kids are safe going from machine to machine.
Love this place! Something to do for all ages. I like that there is a cover charge for anyone coming into the establishment. As a mom with young kids I am constantly concerned with safety and looting of onlookers. The cover charge keeps out the riff rafts, and continues to help a local business stay afloat. In an area that doesn't have much for people, this establishment is key for family and friends to gather.
Very Dark place?the bowling games fun
I love supporting this unique business for our area. Great variety of games, all day entry. Whole family can have a blast from young to old. I don't know anyone who wouldn't have fun here. I even got to play the original Nintendo games from my childhood, it was like riding a bike and took me back!!
It's basically adult chunky cheeses only its free games and you don't win any prizes . Unless you pay the dollar and play the claw Machine
My kids and I had a very good time at Wayback's Arcade. I think I enjoyed it more than them since I played these original games in the late 80s and early 90s. They had stools for the little ones to be able to reach and play the games comfortably. Almost all the games are free to play so I was finally able to get pretty far on some of the games I was never able to beat since back then they required you to pay. Fun environment to meet like minded gamers and get pretty far on co-op games like Teenage Mutant Ni
SO MANY GAMES! They have classic Arcade Cabinets, Pinball Machines, and even an entire room for Classic Consoles that anyone can play. The food is quite pricey but besides that this place is quite the trip. ~$12 for an Adult
$13 gets you in and let's you play all day. You can even leave and come back later. The games are super fun and in top condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. The arcade is always cleanly.
My little bro and his family came in from Texas and fell in love with this place!!! Game after game, a wall of consoles, air hockey, and delicious pizza?? For 13$? (Pizzas extra, but whatevs) One of the staff overheard me and my little bro lamenting the Guitar Hero game being down, went and did some fiddlin? and got it running for us! A great place to hang out, one entrance fee and you're in all day! This place is definitely worth your visit! It even elicited a smile or two from my 17 year old! MAGIC! ??
It's very clean. The games work. Customers and staff are friendly. I've taken my kids there several times. They had allot of fun.
All the classic games you remember, plus some your Dad remembers too! They're always adding more games too!! A place my husband and I can go to for date night, but also a place where we can bring our kiddos and have fun all day!
We had a blast! All of the art on the windows brings you back to your childhood. They have several different areas with various types of games: old school, newer stuff, crane games, pinball, skeeball, most gaming systems hooked up to tvs. They also have hint brothers pizza whicj is a huge plus! The cost of admission isn't anything to spend the day there with your kids schooling then on your childhood. Such a great place!
We always have so much fun. For $13 you can play ALLLL DAY not like at a pay-to-play place, that's gone it 30 minutes. The pizza is great too.
I had an amazing time here. Only $13 per person to play all the games you want, as long as you want, without having to go broke. I was pleased with the plethora of retro games (especially the pinball machines). A local business that is not overpriced and does not charge you money per game. I love this place and recommend it to anyone that wants to take a walk down the memory lane of arcade games or share the experience with their kiddos. 10 stars!
I worked for Waybacks arcade right after their first opening around 4 years ago and let me tell you, one of the best jobs ever. Everything was scheduled cleaning to keep the public safe ( it was Covid times) and the atmosphere was amazing. My bosses Jeremy and Evan were always so nice, taught me things about the machines and simple fixes. They truly care for their employees and customers. I still go back to play games every now and then. As one of the few arcades in the world, I know this one?s the best one
This place is such a treasure! The entry fee (I think it's around $13) is all you need to pay to get access to an insanely huge amount of arcade games. The variety is all over the place with games like mortal kombat, Area 51, a bunch if pinball machines, and they even have Japanese rhythm games! It's super worth coming here, my gf and I often choose here as our date spot and fight each other on Soul Calibur! Awesome place, awesome staff, awesome price, and awesome games!
BEST EXPERIENCE EVERRR, friendly staff, fun games, good pizza, SOLID place to spend a friday night at
Great place to enjoy time free arcades..great idea. Wish yall would open one in Lafayette!:)
Great place to play games unwind have fun or throw a party. All my asked questions were answered so very helpful. Lots of options included in the entrance fee and I love that they are always updating and adding new things.
So much fun! Pizza was good and nice variety of games. Will return
We went to the Wayback arcade tonight to bring my granddaughter. It was HORRIBLE!!! First it cost $42.88. Then we couldn't find a machine that worked. We ended up playing pinball. Me, my granddaughter, and my husband. She is only 7 so she didn't know how to play. There was a guy that worked there that came by and said to stop pushing the buttons. Don't know how you play pinball without pushing buttons but I tried to stop pushing as much. I quit and was watching my granddaughter. He came by agai
Absolutely love this place. I play pinball the whole time. It's seriously so much better than on the fat back desktop I played it on as a kid. We don't have many things in Cenla for fun, but this place is the best to me.
What a gem of a fun place! Totally coming back! This 80s baby/90s kid loved this joint! My son really enjoyed himself, also!
Awesome place! A very fair price to play all day. Roughly 20 pinball machines, pretty much all of the classic arcade games, plus many more. I'll definitely be back!
Such a fun place! I've been to numerous arcades across Louisiana and Texas and their prices are more than fair for all you get. Staff is super friendly.
We took our son here for a late birthday surprise. He loved every second of being there. He even took pics to show his friends how amazing it was. It was an amazing time
Love coming here and playing games from when I was younger! They have my favorite arcade game which I haven't seen in 25 years! I got to share it with my teenage daughter who now also loves it and plays it with me. I do wish they monitored the back rooms more though as I've seen kids literally climbing on games and taking the balls out of the machines and throwing them around. Love the cleanliness, the game selection, and the prices. Definitely a favorite!
We brought our class and had a blast!
Super, super cool way to spend a day!! They have an incredible selection of games and our kids had a blast. We will definitely be looking forward to coming back!
You have to pay just to sit there. I have my own games but had to pay to just sit in one area on my own phone. A waste of $14. If they are going to require parents to stay, then they should not make them pay if they don't want to play.
Best arcade I have been to. It's $13 for all day. Where else can you get that kind of value? I love the variety of games, and I especially love that they have console and rhythm games.
Great prices, great experiences all around. We've had 2 parties there so far and will definitely have more. Few years since my review, but definitely feel the same and have had a few more parties. Staff is awesome, New games fairly often some of which I'd never seen before, and it's so much fun watching my 9 year old or 2 year old be able to figure out that you move the stick or press the button to make things happen in the game.
Awesome place for those who love old school arcade games!! $13 to play all you want!! And the party rooms are great. Love this place!
Oh gosh talk about bringing back the memories. This place is awesome. Staff was super friendly. Hunt Brothers pizza always good.
Old school games and new ones. Lots of fun.
My grandson had a party to attend. We had fun together
Great place to hang out with family or date night with wifey! So many variety of arcade games that transport you back to childhood memories and I can't wait to make new memories with my kids when they're old enough to compete against me!
Great place to have some fun with the family. All the classics that I grew up with are there and also some I've never even heard of. The staff there is also great.
Great experience, amazing selection from across all eras of arcade machines - even a few I've never seen before! Wish it was closer so I could visit more often, but I will definitely be back!
Nice sized room for parties, the arcade was great with a wide variety of games although some of them was down and the punching machine you still had to pay for
Had a flashback of my childhood. Glad I could share it with my teenage daughter
Was very fun and had a lot of different games to play
Nice place to remember way back when mom would drop us at the malls arcade. The music was also hitting the pleasure centers of the mind bringing back good memories. They could use a little maintenance on some of the games especially the two person shooters guns and screens but at the price of entry ($13) it's no big deal to have a few machines not available that day. All in all it was a great time and a worth wild experience as an adult.
The employees work their hardest to make sure everyone?s experience is great. The snack bar is always expanding and the game selection is getting better and better. I believe this place will be sought after by retro gamers and future gamers in the foreseeable future!! Keep up the awesome work.
This place brought me back! Fun family friendly environment. Tons of arcade games. I love that you just pay a small fee per person then you get to play all the games you want. You can also leave and come back the same day.
We visit every Friday night! Honestly the best place to stay out of trouble on a Friday night. Great game selection and their pizza is phenomenal! I definitely recommend getting a membership if you are a frequent visitor. It has saved us a lot of money!
You pay to get in and almost everything inside is free! Great date idea! Great for the kids! Highly recommend!
Awesome clean area for lots of arcade playing.
Amazing place with a great atmosphere! The owners are very hands on and do a fantastic job keeping things up and running. Highly recommended for a fun family outing, birthday party, or just something fun to do.
All I gotta say is they have it right, for us older kids over 20 lol the games we used to back in the day they can be played again and some other types as well, it's a clean place, neat, organized and of course you get hungry they have snack food and drinks there too. I will always go when I can and bring my kids and friends too so keep it up guys Love it..
I love waybacks bc you only have to pay to enter and can play as many games as you want for an unlimited amount of time. The food is awesome and I'd recommend this place to anyone
Lots, and I mean LOTS of games to play!!! It was my first time to go, and attended my grandsons birthday party. We had a good time
Loved the old- school games. They also have a PC room where you can connect online to play against others and also have all the console games, including Atari. Plenty of pinball games with up to date themes and the food is good. $12 and we burnt through 2 hours before we knew it. Back in the day I wouldn't have gone through $12 in 2 hours but today that made for a great value. One- time price, all machines are free play after that. Make a stop, if you like arcades ... you'll love it here. But, beware of the
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
Yes, rhythm games in arcades are a vibrant hit in 2025! Titles like Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania deliver high-energy fun, blending music, movement, and precision. Modern machines boast vivid displays, booming sound systems, and diverse song libraries, from J-pop to EDM. They challenge reflexes and rhythm, with competitive leaderboards and tournaments fostering a lively community. Arcade dance floors are regularly packed, proving rhythm games’ immersive, physical thrill keeps them a standout in today’s gaming scene.
