Waterville USA/Escape House

Waterville USA/Escape House

Reviews Summary

Waterville USA is generally well-regarded for its clean facilities, friendly staff, and variety of attractions like slides, lazy rivers, and wave pools. Many visitors highlight the affordability, family-friendly environment, and well-maintained rides. Cabana rentals and short wait times are praised. However, some note strict policies (no spray sunscreen, limited outside food), overpriced or mediocre food, and occasional cleanliness issues in bathrooms. The park is especially popular mid-week when crowds are lighter. While most reviews are positive, a few mention underwhelming wave pools or inattentive lifeguards. Overall, it’s a recommended destination for families, with minor drawbacks.

Great family Waterpark if you are in this area you must visit this place I felt very safe we had our 8-year-old play in almost every water ride they are lifeguards everywhere there's nothing to worry about very peaceful it has a pool with waves very amazing and good very family-oriented in the food is not expensive and it was really really good must try the chicken tenders they were really really good in the french fries most common food but it is really good overall five stars 10 Stars I will visit this pl

Had a great day at the park with my family. Love having free sunscreen stations available. Food was good, and rides were fun with little to no wait even on a Saturday.

My son and I went there while we were on vacation. It was so clean and the staff was very friendly. I think we did everything - everything was well maintained, clean, and available. The slides were awesome, the lazy river was perfect, the wave pool was big and fun, and the Flowmaster was a great ride! Wr went on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy - TONS of chairs available - a lot in the shade too, which I appreciated. If we are ever out this way again, we will definitely be back!!

My wife, daughter (10) and I had a great time today...it wasn't busy at all and even with a brief t-storm delay (~20 mins) we had a blast. The slides and facilities were in great condition...and the staff was super warm and friendly. We checked the FAQs ahead of time so we knew food/drink/spray sunscreen were not allowed but food was reasonably priced (for an amusement park) and there was even a sunscreen station! Overall, we would recommend if you need to get off the beach for a day...although I'm sure

This place was wonderful! Check-in was pleasant, staff there was very nice, and I can see that safety is a big priority here. All of the rides here are completely accessible, the food here is high quality, and short wait times despite the place popularity.

Kids had a blast! Lazy river was very refreshing. Cabana food is decently priced and tasted good. Locker rental was very affordable.

We had a blast. Three boys between 17 and 7 and myself. It is not a huge water park but is just enough for a day of play. We got there at 10 and stayed till 2. We were tired! The food was great and received no complaints from any of my kiddos. We also did the go carts and mini golf. It was a great experience and would recommend to anyone!

Fun place to take little kids i guess. If you're over the age of 12 don't expect to have a good time. You're not allowed to bring anything but money and a towel into the park, the lifeguards are rude, and the regulations are absurd. Complete waste of 40 dollars, only spent 20 minutes their. Also, the times online are wrong. They close at 6, not 8. I have been to many water parks and never have I ever had to be in a float past the 2.5 foot water marker while in the wavepool. You're not allowed to even go pas

Go to Tropic Falls instead! This park is really small, and some of the employees are rude. They do not let you enter with anything but towels pretty much, not even sunscreen. When leaving I expressed how the strict policies where a little excessive for people in my group that have health problems, high blood pressure and diabetes and she replied well if you would have told me, then we would have probably allowed some items since we don't sell them. Covered seating is very limited so you will be sitting in t

Excellent experience. We reserved a cabana the day before online, and it was ready when we arrived, complete with our name on a board outside. Each cabana is attended by a waiter/waitress and all food and drinks were served withing 10-15 minutes of ordering. Going earlier benefitted us in being able to walk right on to many of the slides, and only have a short wait for the Flo Rider.

Memorial weekend wasn't that busy. We went on a Sunday. It was cool and party cloudy. Had a great time. Lots of slides and activities. Will be back.

This place is great for family fun. Especially for the little ones. 2 large kiddie areas, a lazy river, a large wave pool, and a good handle of speed slides. Yall it's well worth it for a full day of water fun! It wasn't crowded on a Sunday, the pricing is reasonable, and the food combo is the way to go for the reusable mugs. The staff was very accommodating, and every lifeguard had a smile. This was the best water park day we've had in a long time. We will be back!

NO SPRAY ON SUNSCREEN ALLOWED IN PARK This was my second visit to Waterville USA and we had a great time. The park was very clean and the staff was very helpful & friendly. The wave pool is pool is huge. There was 7 different water slides, a Flowrider, a really nice lazy river, an old school wooden roller coaster, which we loved, a go cart track and game room. The kids are 6 years old and rode everything there. Their favorite was the kids play area at the entrance. I especially liked the baskets they used

We are Pentecostal and so therefore we were dressed in our modest attire and we were told a few times we HAD to take our clothes off in order to go down a few of the slides. There were 3 slides we were denied completely because we wouldn't take our clothes off. One girl there finally said ?we are suppose to make you take your shirts off but I can tell it's a culture thing so I'm not going to make you? I then watched her make a young boy take his shirt off. But the slide we were going down we had mats. I rea

Young kids loved it. Long lines, slow service. Have several drink machines (barely being used), yet unless you have right change your stuck going in shop to wait in long line for same drink. Recommendation >>>Get a change machine and locate it by drink machine.<<< Or get drink machines that make change or take credit cards.

This place was perfect! Admission was very reasonable at 31 dollars. All the slides are close together, and the longest we had to wait for anything was about 10 minutes. The kids loved it. All the staff was very friendly also. Bathrooms were as clean as you can expect in a water park and the food was good. We will definitely be back

I was a little worried because right before we went there were some pretty bad reviews from a large family, but those seem to have been taken down. I was pleasantly surprised, it was very clean and had plenty of life guards. Everyone was friendly. The kids (ages 12, 10, and an 11 month old) had a great time. It was small enough I felt ok letting the big kids go ride slides, and I took the baby to the little splash pad areas. The baby didn't have nearly as much to do, but that's to be expected. My only compl

Granddaughters loved this park. A lot of slides, float the lazy, wave pool, food and drinks. Park personnel was very nice and professional.

This park was lots of fun. I appreciate how helpful the lifeguards were. They were several throughout the park and very attentive.

Escape room visit.purchased tickets for 8 in advance.it was very fun.allowed 60 minutes for the Escape. Completed in 57 minutes.

This was such an amazing water park! It was clean, not busy AT ALL, the staff were so friendly. This place put my water park in my state to shame!! It is really expensive but soo worth it.

Overall great water park. Lots of different slides, relaxing lazy river and reasonably priced food. The bathrooms didn't look like they were attended to all day. (By then end of the day no tiolet paper or towels) We rented a cabana and thought it was well worth it. They wait on you and bring you your drinks and food. Charles was our attendant and he is fantastic at his job! The pathways inside the park are VERY HOT! We wore our shoes and held them down the slides.

We had to reschedule our cabana and then ultimately cancel. Madison was absolutely amazing. What wonderful customer service she had ?? Thank you Madison

I loved it all. I went with my stepson and my two grands. We went down every slide. The one that had 5 slides. All but 3. Out did my stepson. He's 43, and I'm 66. Will not let this go!

For eight people it cost nearly $800!! ($320 entry, $275 snacks and drinks, $200 cabana rental) And what did we get for our money? FILTHY WATER, NO WORKING SHOWERS, soggy fries, flat sodas, cold nacho cheese poured out of a can, bathroom with an inch of dirty water to wade though, and all around terrible pool conditions. This place is an absolute sess pit of dead beetles, used band aids, and LOTS of hair.

It's a great park with a very friendly staff. We had an amazing time and the prices are inexpensive.

Ashley at the entrance ticket booth either needs retrained or she's scamming customers by charging full price after 3. She tried doing this to my party of 9 and 2 other parties of 2.

Perfect for kids. Compared to most businesses we've been to since the pandemic, they didn't seem to be under staffed at all. Lines moved super quickly for water slides and food. It was an enjoyable visit. Majority of the lifeguards seemed to have positive attitudes and were great when interacting with kids. I also like the fact that they allow you to use the same souvenir cups every year, which saves major money at a place like this. Highly recommend.

We love Waterville, it's so much better than the waterpark they opened at OWA and about 10 times the size!

We loved it we got there two hours before it closed and there are not a lot of people there and the lines were very short. We had a great time.

My family and I booked an escape room at Waterville and it was a lot of fun. The Escape Rooms are upstairs and then downstairs is an arcade with a snack bar. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and made our time there a fun experience :)

Rides were fun. Flowrider was especially a hit with our teens & preteen. Staff was very friendly. Price was on the high side . Wave pool & winding river needed a better filtration - lots of debris floating everywhere.

Really fun place to visit with the kiddos. Lots for them to do as far as water park rides go, my only suggestion is to get there early because we really struggled to find seating under a shady area considering we have small children. Also, pack your patience! Very busy and long wait times.

Absolute blast!!! Much better experience than OWA's Waterpark. The kids absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. I'm thinking of buying season passes for next year. We didn't have to wait hours for the slides like we did at the before mentioned establishment. Great concessions and a very nice staff.

Great water park at it's price point. No waiting on the week day we were there.

Amazing waterpark! It was huge, lots of slides, not at all crowded and plenty of shady spots to sit! We love this park and is always a must stop when we're in town!

Great place for kids! They have a nice wave pool and a lazy river too.

Great place to spend the day. Very affordable and very clean. Food prices were good and all rides were in working condition. We went on the "flow rider" ride and it was great. The gentleman that was running that are was named Mario. He definitely deserves a raise. He treated every single person on that ride like they were his first person of the day. He spent quality time on each person showing them or instructing them on how to successfully go on that ride. He was amazing. Very caring when it came to the k

Had a great time here with the kids and they didnt want to leave. Staff was friendly. I do suggest eating before you go because the food is a little pricey.

Me & my family enjoyed every minute and dollar we spent at this water park. I spent all my time in the lazy river but there were many slide options for the kids. Their kitchen staff is friendly as well and make everything fresh to order

You're paying regular theme park prices for a mini water park. The water in every slide, wave pool, & lazy River was hot. I know it can't be ice cold but it def could have been colder. There isn't many slides here at all. You can not take spray sun screen. They take it from you up front if you have it. The gold rush and the purple and pink slide were probably the only good slides. We rode them multiple times cause they don't have a lot of options but it was fun what little we got to do.

Kids area is fun for adults too. Only thing I hated was they do not serve or let you bring in alcohol. Can't even bring in your own water.

Great day with the kids, it was their 1st time. They loved everything. The food was great, everything was clean & the staff was as friendly as a group of teenagers could be.

Always a fun place to take the family when vacationing at Gulf Shores! Not too busy mid-week, pretty good price, and friendly staff. Also, their minimum height for almost all the water rides is 42" so kids 5ish and older can pretty much ride everything. They also have a small amusement park with a few rides and a wooden rollercoaster. For some reason they don't allow spray on sunscreen on the property...but they do provide complementary SPF 30 lotion.

Hands down better than OWA and more for everyone to do and enjoy

This is the best Waterpark I've been to in Alabama. I think the best time to go is on a weekday so it's not crowded. Bring flip flops because the cement gets hot. Great slides!

We recently visited and loved our experience. The water park has a very easy lay out where I'm able to keep up with all my kids. The prices were fair. My only complaint is that the music was really staticky and loud. Hopefully that can be fixed. Also the chicken wrap from the snack stand was awful. I'll just get pizza next time. But overall we really enjoyed our day. We are wanting to get season passes.

Kids loved it. Close, convenient, tons to do, great place in Gulf Shores.

Don't sleep on the best secret in Gulf Shores...we had a great time there today. It was not crowded, very clean, well maintained, family friendly, cost effective and all of the employees were very well mannered and doing their jobs. It was $40 to enter, lunch was less than $11 per person, ice cream $4, funnel cakes $5. Any other parks you will pay double that and be waiting in long lines to ride the rides and be elbow to elbow with people in nasty over crowded water. We will be going back to this little ge

Fun place to beat the heat. Kids had a great time and all the staff is so friendly and accommodating.

Lots to do for younger kids. More shade than many of the bigger water parks I've been to. Employees were all very nicely. I went with four kids ages 2 to 11 and everyone had a great time.

Pretty cool, but a little over priced for the amount of rides. No changing rooms, bathrooms are pretty gross. Two spots to eat with very long lines. All in all not to bad if you don't have far to go to change and grab food. Rules are strict so make sure you look before you go.

UPDATE YOUR HOURS! You are showing opened right now but clearly showing up here you are not! Infuriating!

The park is small, but is great for a few hours away from the beach. Also it allows you to leave and come back, which is probably its best feature if you don't like waterpark food. The wave pool we were told was 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off which was not true, we waited 45 minutes for it to turn back on. Flowrider was too busy to ride but everything else had good wait times when we went.

Omg had the time ofmy life!! All slides were open.. Great place to bring your kids!!!

Nice water park. HOWEVER, BE PREPARED TO PAY $38 (FULL PRICE) for your TALL 4 YEAR OLD, who will not be riding 50% of the rides. My 4 year old hit the 42inch line w shoes on and despite us buying tickets for our large family of 8 (every child from age 4-18 paying full adult price) and me questioning the worker, HAILEY M., about my child just hitting the height line, she would not give us the 42 inch child price. I understand this is a business, but there are situations in the case of doubt that the customer

This place was nice. I don't think you should have to pay to surf at the flow riders. I also do not think having a concrete pathway is ideal for a water park. The bottoms of your feet are scorched. Also, the sunscreen that they provided was so watery and only SPF30. They don't allow spray sunscreen because it makes the concrete slippery. Not well thought out. Made replace concrete with rubber mats?

TAASRO thanks for having the park setup for us, kids had a blast and the wife and i just chilled in the lazy river

My experience was okay. I definitely feel like I was over charged. The Jamaican girl at the ticket desk didn't care that my son was on the line of 42in she still made me pay 41 dollars for him. She was very rude. I don't like that they have one bathroom and one shower. Then there was another Jamaican girl on the shrimps boat she very rude and mean to the kids. She was rushing the kids to go down the slide. Taking her hair down and when other parents would talk to her she would give them one word back and tu

Had a blast...kids have sooo much fun

I love it and will never forget it y'all are the best water park I been at

We go every year. It seems kinda hidden but it is the best place. Very friendly. So much for the kids to do and reasonable priced. We stay all day. It's shaded. Definitely need to go check it out

Great value for all day pass deals. Check first as wave pool may not really be open.

We were on vacation in Gulf Shores and arrived in town a few hours before we could check into our condo. We were looking for something for the grandkids to do before we went to the condo and found Waterville online. We decided to try it out, and the kids had a blast. The only negative comment that I have is that spray sunscreen is not allowed, and we didn't find out until we arrived. We had 5 cans of spray and no lotion. I understand that it is for safety reasons, and they sell lotion in the gift shop, but

Great place for the kids with so much to do

Great water park. Not busy, clean and the rides are pretty near each other so the kids easily ran between everything they wanted to do. The after 3pm ticket discount is a good deal as well.

Everything is good. You will have so much fun here. But they check you for spray sunscreen. You buy some of their sunscreen. But if you get a cabana you can get a server to bring you food and drinks.

It's just okay... and that's being generous. First there is no real swimming pool like other water parks we've been to. I expected to see a 6-7-8ft deep pool with a diving board.. not happening. The only thing close to swimming is the wave pool. The wave pool I was looking forward to, was a disappointment. You can't go further than the blue line which is 3ft deep without a tube. This is the dumbest policy I've ever seen. If Wisconsin dells water parks did this, they would be out of business. So again the p

I would have to say this place is okay. The food was not great. Hamburger was cold. (It was premade, no lettuce or other items on it) . Very disappointed about chicken wrap- only cut up pieces of chicken (nothing else). The fries were amazing crispy. My Biggest Complaint was the Lifeguards around the Wave pool. My biggest pet peeves, if you are lifeguard or blue Guard- Do not have a conversation with eachother while you on duty and turn your head away from the kids in pool. I spent the whole day right in th

I went here in August. And it was a wonderful experience!!! There was lots of rides and plenty of stuff to do. I had a fantastic time and really got to enjoy all of the experiences!!!

Great spot for the price, definitely will be returning whenever we visit Gulf Shores! It's a small park, but the short wait times allowed us to easily hit every attraction multiple times within the 1st 2 hours; we got there at 10am, and the lines were basically nonexistent until the afternoon. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of a few lazy/rude staff members. Be sure to tell your kids how to go down the bigger slides (lay down with arms/feet crossed etc), because the slide attendants don't seem

They dig through your bags and make you take out all water, food and spray sunscreen! My kids can't have dairy and gluten and I had to leave the food in the hot car. At Big Kahunas I could leave the food at the first aid station and could bring in water. At Sams Splash City they don't even check your bags. I will not drive over her again.

I gave it 4 stars only because we purchased tickets online and still had to wait in line for over 30 minutes. There is no benefit in purchasing your tickets online so don't just in case you can't go. They should have someone to do both prepaid and non prepaid tickets and I think that would speed things up. We had a great time and some of the things I noticed were the bathrooms were clean when we first arrived. They had plenty of staff and all the rides were working. It wasn't over packed but my only complai

Bring your water shoes and come on! The water park was clean and seemed to run smoothly. The wave pool has a rule that you have to be in a tube to go into the deeper water, which we didn't care for but I'm sure it's a safety thing and you have to have your ID to use a credit card, which I understand, but is it not convenient when in swim wear to carry both. The arcade was fun and clean, staff all seemed very friendly. Remember it's a concrete ground, so your feet will burn if you don't have shoes or tough f

My kids loved it here. It was nicely laid out. I was concerned at first about not being allowed to bring a cooler, but water was only .50c! The slides were awesome, the lazy river was nice. They have a really cool surfing area too.

Waterpark is great, but I have one issue. Be warned, They don't allow outside spray sunscreen...They offer their own complimentary "sunscreen" in gallons. The stuff was watered down and offered no protection whatsoever. I'm burnt af typing this... Spray yourself in the parking lot before going in. Wish I would've did that instead of trusting their stuff.

Me and the family had a great time here! All the employees were nice and laid back. The lines to the slides moved pretty quickly if there was a line.

We really enjoy coming to Waterville. It's a clean water park and the fact that it's small is a plus for me being disabled and unable to ride the rides with my 8 year old the fact that it's small and usually not alot of ppl I don't feel the anxiety of letting her and her friends take off and have fun. The bathrooms are always clean when we come and the staff is helpful. I wish we could bring our own water and snacks though as some of us have health restrictions and they only offer typical unhealthy park o

We love it! 2nd year we have been, and it's definitely on our list of things to do when we come now. It's perfectly sized for a day off the beach for our family, kids 12 and 10. Wave pool, wave runner, lazy river, splash playground, and about 9 different slides perfect for their ages. It wasn't packed, so the wait times for slides were nothing. Be aware that they don't allow spray sunscreen inside the park. But they do now offer free sunscreen lotion stations so you can reapply through the day, which I thou

Great place for kids n adults ,not too big not to small,go-karts pretty outdated but they still fun. Cool place!!

My daughter and I visited this water park today. Google says that the park is open until 9 p.m. We came at 4:45, my daughter didn't even have time to ride all the slides because the park is closed at 6pm. It's a pity for the money spent and the child's spoiled mood

If you're there with the family, get a cabana! Totally worth it to have a server & safe/secure place for your belongings in the shade! Perfect for a meeting spot for everyone! We go once or twice a year but we're there when the gates open and we leave when they close. Lines aren't horribly long. Bring your NON aerosol sunscreen!

We had a great time, the weather was a bit iffy but they never had to close down for lightning.

DISABILITY/ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES: I am chronically ill and just wanted to enjoy a day at the water park :( I needed to bring in a small cooler for my medications and foods I can eat. I cannot have gluten contamination. They told me I have to leave it in my hot car and eat it in my car. They made me empty my water bottle in the parking lot and there is no water fill station inside! Just a low flow warm water fountain. You guys NEED to think about people with disabilities and illnesses. We like to have fun too

Enjoyable experience overall. Food service here was somewhat lacking in speed and quality, but it wasn't bad compared to other amusement parks I've been to (Six Flags). Some of the slides need some upgrades I'd say, but it didn't hinder the experience. Slides here were very fun, and the lazy river was perfect. The wave pool's waves are very weak and got boring quickly. This water park is small, but it will entertain you for a few hours.

Didn't get a chance to take pictures really, but it was over all a fun experience. You can not bring outside food or drinks in, they will check all your bags, you also can't bring spray in Sun block. But what you can do is freely go back and forth to your car, and your admission is good for the whole day. So you can get here early, leave for lunch and come back in with out paying or just take a break at eat at you car. Food is available here, typical prices. $6 for a burger, average $12 for a meal. Nothing

Only open tru summer... However, they stay open for two weekends after the kids go back to school and the tourists leave. It gives locals a chance to enjoy the park without the long lines and annoying Yankees ??

Fun ! Great service in cabana areas too ! Weekdays so much less crowded for sure more enjoyable and relaxing

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
