I always have a great time coming in here. Talking to the staff about consoles and looking at the blend of old and new games is amazing. (And staring longingly at their wall, waiting until I can afford a Wii U. One day?) Always great fun!

This place has taken my game knowledge to new heights and has opened up my eyes to new titles everyday and classics from my childhood. Every employee is friendly, cooperative and really fun to talk to about anything, i recommend this place to anybody looking to expand their horizons in gaming, movies, anime and toys. Plus The claw machine here isn't a scam and actually works.

Basically became my local arcade, very clean shop! Amazing and awesome staff that has no issues talking nerd stuff with ya! Great selection of new and classic games. Where they really shine is on accessories for classic systems, like NES, SNES, and Genesis. Maurice, Mark, and Casey were very helpful. They have a wide selection of original used and brand new controllers. The inventory changes often but they usually have the big name games for older systems. Their prices seem inline with the current retro market. Additionally they have a lot of really cool toys and posters. The arcade has some older classics, as well as MvC2

My hubby and I were having problems getting local 2 player games for the PlayStation 5 so we went in to the store and asked for advice. They suggested the Wii U so we bought the system and we are completely happy. The staff took their time to explain all the different abilities and got up hooked up with everything we needed. We are GenX so it took a lot of time to explain everything and we will continue to shop only there. Their knowledge and expertise can't be matched by corporate type stores?

This place is very cool and if you love video games or the 80s it's fun!!! My son loves this place!!! The staff here is the friendliest and dedicated to their job like no others. Definitely recommend over any other game store in all Jax. VGR you guys are awesome!!!!

Great little shop with everything from Super Nintendo to PS5 they also have some movie, wrestling, and anime merchandise. Did a small sale of some old games and a system and they took a little to go through them and check they worked but eventually offered a fair price, a significant amount more if you take store credit.

Great store. Will definitely be back. I think I got a fair trade for our Wii and used it all up on a bunch of PS3 games. Friendly staff, great service. Would have loved to have more time.

Great store with an actual arcade, from classics to new pinball machines. Prices are reasonable and they even have an ATM and change machine.

Cheaper than gamestop if you are looking for games, you can trade and sell if you have anything. Good selection of equipment and movies. Haven't been in there but they have old school arcade games.

The store is a temple for video games, while on a quick trip I found this hidden gem. Great service and great stock. The staff is very friendly and knows what you're talking about even at the most obscure of requests. The arcade was small but not crowded and they where 50 cents a play which was a great throwback to the arcade days. I don't have anything bad to say about VGR except that I wish I had more time to spend in the store!

Went in to buy an Xbox classic, they said they had been tested with a disc and all. Lies, the console was clearly tampered with in the past, leaving the old modded operating system still in which they had no idea about, but the worst part is they said I get a "warranty" which normally means money back, but even though i took it back within 24 hours these people still kept my money and only gave me store credit, which I was basically pressured into spending the same day. Found a place to call home. I didn't know what I needed until I stepped into this store. HDMI cable for Dreamcast, old Sega Genesis football game and classic Gundam PS3 game. They made my day with all these cool things. Didn't have time to play in the arcade. That's on the next visit.

I heard of this place by someone I was buying something off of from Marketplace. He was selling his own things, but still took the time to tell me how reasonable this place is. I'm glad I tried it out! I'm in my 40s collecting retro consoles for my kids and we had such a good time talking about 1st Gens. They have the most reasonable prices and are the nicest, patient, most helpful people. 100% will be back, and very soon! Update: Not a fluke. 2nd visit as great as the first!

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The store is well organized and clean. The arcade room is spacious and has a myriad of titles. They have great features for their customers such as customer appreciation rewards and a wishlist for games not in stock. No matter what system or platform you use, they have something for everyone!

This place right here has opened the vault of my gaming childhood and found games for my N64, gamecube and playstation consoles dont get me wrong i love gamestop but this has become my go to especially being such an avid gamer

We stopped by Video Game Rescue and were quickly greeted by Maurice who provided a tour and took us through their arcade. They have such a fun selection of arcade games and a unique collection of imported, retro, and current video games. What sold the store for us was definitely the customer service. Maurice and Jared were friendly and knowledgeable and instantly made us feel welcomed. We can't wait to return with cash so we can play in the arcade!

Very cool place, they have a really good selection of stuff to buy and also they have a really good arcade, another thing to note is that they have a machine that lets you resurface games, I got some Wii Games resurfaced there, and they got some of them back to near perfect condition, also the people who work there are very nice, also, they replaced one of my game cases for one in better condition (game case was for the same game lol)

The workers in the shop are seemingly not trained in repairs, not able to communicate with customers, and have very little knowledge of the products they sell nor the services they provide. The associates seem lost in their own thoughts and are unable to help over 3 visits for 3 simple repair or purchase questions. I would skip this place unless you just want to play in their arcade. It's a local place that has all your video game needs covered. I went there to get a new controller for my PS4. They had and at a good price. The coolest thing about the place is the old school pinball and video game room they have.

Went in to this place to sell some items for cash. Just so everyone is aware, they are in the business to make the most off of you whilst purchasing items for dirt cheap. I can't believe that GameStop of all places offered more for a mint condition switch lite. I even sold my gameboy color that was modded which the mod itself cost more than what they offered. My husband heard about this place and was told it was a great place to find original Game Cube controllers. We arrived hoping to find one, but we were told that they seldom had controllers in stock because they have a group of Smash players who gobble them up on Thursday nights. I spent some serious time today in the store with Jared helping me. He was extremely informative and helped me bundle a large number of games for my collection. Had a great experience with awesome customer service. Highly recommend their disc repair and battery replacement services for games. Nice to have life put back into old games I thought were done for. Jared was super knowledgeable and did a trade in for my family. Told us how to access all kinds of games online. Plenty of space for gaming tournaments and lots of pinball games to play! Maurice was working the day I went. Very nice, very friendly, wanted to give back to customers and said first time customers was his favorite! Maurice even offered to show us around the arcade. Very cool video game shop!

Sweet Little arcade in the back if you're into playing pinball they will actually give you matches here for free games unlike whoever owns the games that are at Keg & Coin and Walrus. So come on over here if you want to feel appreciated for your pinball time and money.

Came to this small, dumpy, poorly lit location to play some arcade games. The little shop was dead inside and didn't have arcade games anymore.

Love this place. I hadn't gamed in years, and before I moved to Jacksonville I found my old game consoles from my childhood and started playing them again. I was happy to find this place because they sell games from all different eras and I get to relive a little bit of my childhood. The owner is a friendly guy and even has an arcade at the store.

Incredibly cozy store with an even cozier arcade in the back. Great prices and great trade in value. Sells everything from retro to modern games, consoles, and accessories. Also sells various little trinkets and figurines from different media. They even take requests and host events/parties. Definitely deserves your business and support. This store is great. They have a huge selection of games and consoles from NES to PS5. Customer service is outstanding. I recently called looking for a couple Pok?mon games for Wii. They were happy to check and although they didn't have the games I was looking for, they offered to put me on a list to receive a text when one comes in. A++

Fantastic shop. Employees are incredibly friendly & helpful. Prices are very good for older titles that can be hard to come by. I grabbed a few ps1 and ps3 games, under eBay prices and in perfect shape! The arcade is also much larger than I thought it would be. If I had the time, I could have spent hours in this place. Jared is a fantastic vibe. From one service worker to another, dude has great sociability. Come in every blue moon, the store always has a great selection, I was super bummed when the 2nd location across the Buckman closed down. It was right down the street from me. My only complaint is y'all got ride of your air hockey table and now I have a jar of quarters collecting dust.

Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about games and consoles. They're welcoming and very understanding of any confusion. Bring cash to turn into change (they have a machine for change) for the arcade in the back and you're guaranteed to have a great time. Prices are also very fair, and you can trade in your games and consoles for cash or store credits.

I brought my son in to take a look around and see about selling some games. This place was awesome, so many new and retro items. Even had a physical arcade, with the possibility to rent out for parties. The gentleman that waited on us was a wealth of knowledge and wonderfully patient with my son (he's autistic) he spoke to him to handle his transaction with the care and respect. Holy cow! I was blown away by how kind and professional these folks were. I was looking to sell my 25-30 year old collection of games and sound tracks, and they were completely honest with their values and gave me more than I expected in trade. They could have very easily just offered minimal like a pawn shop would, but they painstakingly looked up the value on every little thing I brought.... and it was quite a bit of stuff! I'm very appreciative of these fine people and look forward to visiting again!

This place rules! The staff are always friendly and if you're lucky they'll be chatting about something cool and you're often welcome to chime in. The selection is unheard of, often finding gems and classics around every corner. Fantastic arcade with great selection of pinball and other stand up machines. I always play the sit down crazy taxi. YA YA YA YA. The prices are fair and the trade in credit seems way higher than other places. Really just an incredible place.

They are awesome. I went in to inquire about getting my granddaughter a switch lite. I ended up selling my Nintendo 64 with games and was able to get her the switch and 3 games. I loved this atmosphere, prices around this area arent crazy no matter where you go for this kind of store. That being said the assistants were super responsive, greeting as you come in, eager to help you find whatever you need and knowledgeable enough about their inventory to point to the shelf with your item more than half the times you ask. Spots like this are hard to come by here, and I'm glad there are people willing to keep retro arcades open. The consoles here are fairly priced and are high quality with plenty of options for controllers and games. My brother and I shop often here. The arcade in the back room is Jax?s best kept secret if you're into retro gaming. I have traded some NES games and was surprised at the high amount of trade in credit value I got. Will definitely visit again.

This video game store is superior to all the others I've visited in the area. Not only a store for classics, but doubles as an arcade. The staff is super cool and laid back. The highlight has to be the claw machines. They are a quarter a pop and have games as prizes! Will always visit when I can.

Very cool place to trade in your old treasures. My three boys went in with old Nintendo switch games and DS games and the trade in value was nuts! Totally worth bringing your goodies here. Great Classic and Modern Game shop! Of course it leans closer to classic games. The staff was really cool and helped me with whatever I need and gave me some great deals on their figurines. Instead of talking me up to get more expensive gear he presented me with the best options for my needs, which was cheaper than what I intended on buying originally. I had alot of fun here the guy at the counter was really nice and i bought super mario land for my gba sp i was worried it wouldn't work but after a few of my tries my grandma tried and got it working if your into classic gaming like me then id recommend this place A little tip for online shoppers check this place before going on something like amazon/ebay i bought a gba sp on amazon for almost 70 dollars and they had it for a better price But 10-10 loved it
