Only have good things to say about Versus! Very reasonable/cheap cover charge to play unlimited games. Fun, laidback vibes; love all the decor and fun glasses. We personally love some of the slightly dysfunctional games. We also greatly appreciate Richard and Jonathan for letting us come in early to take some engagement photos in the space. They were so eager to help, accommodating, and supportive; we tried to pay them at the end and they wouldn't even let us but ended up acquiescing and dropping our money

It's a fun place with serviceable food. The staff are really nice. The arcade itself is fun although the number of games is fewer than Roxy's and a good number of them were malfunctioning or broken. I think I just came at a bad time between maintenance visits. The free play is great, something that Roxy's doesn't have.

I would give Versus 10 stars if I could. I decided last minute to celebrate my 23rd birthday here last night, and Versus didn't fail in exceeding my expectations. Versus hosted my fianc??s birthday party and they were amazing. Johnny was most gracious and hospitable. The food was delicious and hot! They provided a cake that everyone (even non cake lovers) raved about. From start to finish, they made planning easy and everything was exactly as promised. The games were fun and the crowd made it even better. We will definitely come back for a fun night out. I absolutely recommend going. Hidden gem. Best choice to host and to hang out. Great spot to decompress with coworkers after work, chill with friends at night, or meet new people over games. The inside is unique and nostalgic. There are arcades on either side, with a bar in the middle, but you can also play games on the screens at the bar, which I found more fun. I love that the workers there join in on the fun. The games were fun! Not a huge place so it gets crowded and the selection isn't huge, but it's fun for what it has. And I loved the drinks. Food was okay, it was crowded when we went so the kitchen was in over its head a little bit. Sent out buffalo wings instead of bbq, and the corrected wings had a huge hair in the ranch. Maybe eat beforehand and go just for the bar and the games.

Great concept with the $5 entry and free play, however is a victim of its own success and they allow far too many people in to actually play anything often. Had a work event here with about 30 people and it was great. The food and drinks were good. The staff was very attentive. The person I coordinated the event with communicated very well and did an excellent job getting everything set up with minimal effort on our part. Highly recommend.

Came here during free play friday and had an amazing time. The drinks were super tasty and had a fun theme to it. I really enjoying the games that were available and had a wide range or games from pinball to arcade games to console games as well. 100% recommend and would def come back!

More of a dive bar than as advertised as an arcade bar. Had to pay 5 dollars for unlimited games but where unable to play such games. More focused on pushing out drinks than customer service. When we had a issue playing a console game manager and others got aggravated! I have a arcade in my hometown and customer service is way better. While the price is obviously unbeatable ($5 at the door to play whatever you want), everything else was just meh. Several of the games were broken so there were only a few options (def a lot fewer than Roxy's). Food was abysmal. Looked like the fries were microwaved and had some cheap cheese dumped on top of it. Drinks were watered down and overpriced.

Nice bar staff. Many old time games from the 80s and 90s. Asteroids, centipede, donkey kong. A few pinball machine. Clean restrooms. Decent prices. The Jr burger was good but would have preferred a better burer roll as the top is doughie. The Zelda fries appetizer was yummy. Go early as it got very crowded. Not many tables to sit and eat and about a dozen or so bar sears.

Came here for my husbands birthday and had so much fun! It is amazing find the arcade has all sorts of games ranging from skeeball all the way to Mario Kart. The food was so delicious. I got the cheese steak. They also have a great beer and drink selection, which makes playing video games even better! Come in with friends for a fun Weekend or weekday afternoon, you won't regret it!

This is a great addition to Downtown Crossing! What's better than sitting at the bar and being able to play Mario Cart with friends! Or make new friends...which is difficult in this city but Versus helps break down that anti-communication wall. Great selection of local craft beer on draft and bottles/cans. I was helped by Dro and Jonathan. Cannot recommend highly enough for an event. While you can't really rent out a private room, if you're looking for a more lively party atmosphere, this place is great for gatherings of 10-15 people. This place was on my list of places to check out during my first visit to Boston, and I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is fun and lively, the games are in good condition and the drink prices are reasonable. It gets busy quickly though, so be prepared to have to wait for the machine you want.

This place is so fun! A few of the games had issues. Awesome selection of pinball. The food was standard, but delicious. I got the impossible burger. So happy they have Crazy Taxi! Overall a good time. The bathrooms need more love.

My boyfriend and I went to Versus on the later end of the night. When we got there, I was surprised that it was $5/pp for unlimited play. People at the bar were playing FIFA and Mario party, while others played board games in the booths/tables. In the other areas, there were a bunch of arcade games to choose from. I took off one star because there were a few games that were out of order, and then depending on how crowded it is, you may need to wait for certain games. All in all, would recommend!

Had a great experience! Can get crowded even on weekdays, so if you want it empty go during the day not at night. The vibes are great, and you can play as many games as you like for only $5. They have ski ball, pac man, pin ball machines, and a shuffle board table. Didn't get to try the food but the pizza looked good! Good date night!

We had a birthday party here and it was great! The manager was really nice and even sent us a round of shots at the next bar we went to after. The group had a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it for events.

Versus is great!! if I recall correctly, once you pay the cover all the games are free ? including the PS4/switch games above the bar! Games above the bar is such a good idea btw; i got to beat a bunch of strangers as hugh neutron in modded smash so i cannot complain

Drinks are decently priced, and after your cover charge all the games are free which is a very nice system. Food is delicious, and the owner Mike is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Smash tournaments on Sundays is a nice low key way to have some fun. Pinball, retro cabinets, and the new consoles? What more could you ask for from an arcade bar??

We recently rented out this venue for a birthday party during the day on Saturday. The entire process and dealing with the staff was incredibly easy - I was able to coordinate everything over email with Jenna and they were very accommodating as to what I wanted. Stumbled upon the place by accident but it's a really enjoyable place. For $5 you have unlimited plays in the retro arcade area, the modern arcade area, board games, multiplayer console games, etc. They also have a bar, and serve snacks/food for people as well. Each night they have game tournaments for people that want to join. Staff was super friendly as well. Would highly recommend checking it out

Ryan is the best bartender EVER!! We always have a BLAST at Versus. The Waifu material is my fav. Great atmosphere, decent bar food. But the vibes are IMMACULATE.

The concept is great but the execution needs work. Several of the arcades have sticky buttons or aren't fully working properly. The 5$ cover charge is good but I'd rather pay $10 and see them invest in upgrading/refurbishing the games.

Literally more than half of the games are broken in some way. 2 out of 3 skeeball lanes are broken, burger time is broken, donkey kongs stick is fubar, time crisis 3 tucked in the corners guns dont register half the time, dig dugs pump button on the right doesnt work, Simpsons arcade is off, blitz is off. Only thing that looks oike its working okay are the pinball machines and smash bros on the bar tv. But if i wanted to play smash i can do that at home. I dunno man. Cool idea, but fix your stuff. $5 entry for unlimited games and then you can separately order food and drinks at the bar. We didn't get any food ourselves because we'd just eaten and that wasn't a problem. They have pinball machines, some classics like Mario Bros and Asteroids, a shuffle board table, skeeball, basketball connect 4, a handful of consoles you can play at the bar and a few others. Fun time, will go again with friends for beers and games.

We had our rehearsal dinner at VERSUS and had a spectacular time. Dro was fantastic and responsive in coordinating our event ? he even went above-and-beyond by getting approval for a few toddlers to stay past 7pm. The rental pricing was very reasonable, the food was excellent, and the service on the day was impeccable: our guests are still raving about the venue!

We were visiting for a long weekend and were just walking around stopping in different bars grabbing drinks. They wanted a $5 cover charge at 6pm on a random midweek July day and I couldn't believe it. We decided to go somewhere else. I'm 45 and haven't paid a cover charge since my clubbing days in my early 30?s!

Great location but beer is sour.... The taps need major cleaning. Even their bar tender agrees that the beer tastes sour. Anything in a can is great but no tap. It's the tap lines cause even with a new keg my beer was sour :(

It was kind of underwhelming. Not many arcade games but enough for the crowd. The one thing that bothered me was everything here is sticky. I don't think I touched a single thing that wasn't sticky here. You get stuck to the floor playing games even. It really wasn't busy enough for the games to not be cleaned properly from the amount of alcohol here. The sofa here is also very grimy. Bathrooms however are clean!

This place is awesome. I brought my boys to Boston for a bachelor party and we made sure to come here twice. $5 unlimited game play, chill vibes, and awesome staff.
