Wow! Nicer than expected. My first time here. We had a birthday party yesterday and everything was so smooth, staff was amazing, party room was awesome, kids had a great time. Adults had fun too. Great value for the cost. We will be back! The little sign with the birthday child?s name was a great touch! Thank you!!

Had a wonderful experience here! Met John one of the managers and he was very kind. The entire staff was very accommodating. We did not end up eating but played games with our daughter and my husband and I drank and did the games! So much fun, cannot wait to go back!

Celebrated a birthday with bowling and then up to the arcade. Grace at the front counter was fantastic! Explained how everything worked and got my party of 10 taken care of quickly! Nathan in the arcade was great as well! Friendly and helpful! He definitely added to our great experience! Definitely recommend and will visit again soon! Thanks much Grace and Nathan!!

Came here for an event dinner. We had pizza and salad, not the best. The drinks could have been better. They have many games and entertainment. The staff was nice but at times seemed annoyed at our group.

Alex was the highlight of the trip was very friendly and thanked us on the way out. The bartender, on the other hand, seemed like he didn't want to be there. I was looking at the menu for less than a minute about to order nobody behind me and only three lanes playing for bowling. The man stepped away and started looking at his phone while I was actively talking to him. Very rude bartender. The bowling was fine. Would go again, but I hope the bartender gets better. I don't like to hate on him, but I am a se

Edited from 1 to 4 stars because the manager made it right. I appreciate that mistakes happen and can be made right ?? Do not go here. The employees hate their jobs. They're rude and terrible. I spent $80 on food and was treated like garbage. I wish i hadnt left a tip. There was another family saying the same thing as we stood and waited FOREVER for anyone to acknowledge our existence. A simple "Welcome! It'll be a moment." Would have helped. Instead when our food was not only wrong but incomplete i got

Came here over the weekend with some family and was incredibly disappointed. Spent $50 on a card that only works in half of the games because they were either turned off or broken. Had several games take credits from my card without actually activating or providing any response other than deducting the credit amount from the card. It is not a good sign when half of the games are out of service and even the self-serve kiosks are all completely out of service. Just a complete and total waste of money and defi

Great games and drinks. Worth your time. The claw machines are HARD!

Had a lot of fun there with a day-long pass. Incredible selection of old-school arcade games. A pretty authentic experience. Shame some of the games were damaged, hence the star drop cuz I was really excited for the pinball machines and only one of them worked. Still really recommend

OW2 was crashing like every game, making me unplayable. They couldn't give me cash refund (even partial) but they offered food voucher equivalent of money i paid. Not a perfect services or hardwares but at least they tried to compensate me somthing. 4 stars.

Took our son to play in the arcade, Service was amazing, we were taken such good care of! Food was top tier! Mac and cheese bites were so delicious and the Philly fries were amazing! Highly recommend this place!

We came here to hangout for my nephews spring break. The place was very clean and there were lots of things for kids and adults alike to play. Chris and Amy at the bar did an amazing job taking care of us and made the visit even better.

It's a fun loving place to go by bringing families, friends, go on date night. It has different foods, different games ?? to play, it has A Bar for the Adults. I recommend this one it has plenty of room for walking around . ?? me, my husband and our daughter can't wait to go back again.

Fun experience. We played pool and bowled 2 games. Staff was super friendly with us and the food we ordered came out super quick!

The food was great! The staff (bartender) was very friendly and kind to us. The games all worked perfect no issues. Highly recommended!

24.09 for two draft beers, one being a domestic? bowling was $18 per person hahaha. The nicest bowling alleys and bars in the world don't charge those prices. Pass.

All night I only saw 4 people working including the guy bussing tables. The manager is rolling his eyes at customers and not helping his coworkers, just reading numbers. Even a coworker told him to shut up and do his job. Posting a picture so you know who I'm talking about. The coworkers were amazing but they will leave if the manager stays. The customer in the photo was being awful to the staff and his family, but the manager was like this all night. This review was for Sunday Sept 3rd. Busiest night of th

It's a decent place. Most of their games are broken and are marked broken. The other half will take your money a time or 2 before you can play. We wasted alot of money on that issue. Food was mediocre. It's an okay place to burn time. I wouldn't do a party there. Save your money.

Traveled across four states to see this place. Got yelled at by security for taking photos and they threatened to throw me out. I've visited over 200 arcades and always photograph them as proof I visited. This is the ONLY one I've been yelled at for taking photos. Do not visit. Security is too strict.

Matt, Cameron and Berkeley hooked us up!!! We came in with a mildly crazy vibe and they turned up the music and gave us the hookup on the games!!! Major slay

Nathan was spectacular!! He had great customer service and really went above and beyond!! Will be visiting again, thank you for everything Nathan!!!

Sam Hadley was so awesome. My daughter, husband, and I came up for a fun weekend together and he was more than nice- he was genuine and kind. We spoke with him and he later found us in the crowd to ensure we got to bowl. He made our experience so great. Thanks for being awesome, Sam!

They always treat Luke, my brother, like any other customer. He is autistic and gets overstimulated but they always talk to him and make sure he's having fun.

The kids had a blast! Chris was a huge help and very friendly! Great service, food and atmosphere.

We went to Velocity this afternoon to celebrate our kid?s birthday. The entire staff was so amazing and friendly. Our food was great and we had so much fun playing all of the games. The manager Berkley was exceptionally kind and gave my birthday kid an extra game card and a plushy for their birthday. He is definitely one of kind and really made my birthday kid?s day wonderful!!!

They beat me for $200 dollars didn't offer the special to me and then when I brought it to their attention the manager had a song and dance that they don't offer cause they don't handle it huh ?? make it make sense then offered free food or hour game card??

Amy and Drew were excellent bartenders, super sweet and awesome service from both???? we will be coming back for sure!!

Most of the arcade machines do not work. They're either off completely or just steal credits.

Went with my family and everyone was very friendly, food was great and service was wonderful. 10/10 would go again

Best arcade / indoor family entertainment center in the Cincinnati area hands down! Up front, easy to understand pricing. New games, old games, separate room with a laid back lounge area. They definitely have something for everyone here!

We stopped in after dinner on a Saturday night. It wasn't overly crowded, all of the games appeared to be working, and there were plenty of attentive staff around. The staff at the front spent time explaining the weekly events that my son was interested in, and after he briefly got separated from me while exploring the place, the manager went above and beyond to make sure he was ok and had a good experience. Thank you!

Amazing service, staff is great. Time management 100%. Great place to take your kids especially to kill time!

Really fun place. Plenty of games, including a lot of retro games you wouldn't be able to find at other arcades.

Waiter over 30 minutes for nachos and boneless wings. The bartender didn't care about the issue. I won't be be back...

We had a time here. It's plenty to do here and the staff were nice. I did not appreciate the fact that the host at the front did not inform us of the Sunday deal which include 4- 1 hour play cards, food and some other things for about 70 bucks and I spent 80 on 2 cards with a couple hundred points on each and each game was several points to play. We also bought food. We spoke to the manager and he was very helpful. He at-least got us play cards and chicken wings. Also the play hourly play cards only work o

Went to the levee with a group of friends not expecting to stop in there but we ended up spending hours. Derailed our plans, in a good way, for the rest of the day. I absolutely love what they did with the place! I hadn't been back since they opened as Velocity, even better that they own the bowling alley downstairs now too. Maybe I was just being hopeful, but I feel like I saw some Bengals players bowling. Super cool spot.

Food was excellent. Small portions but tasted great..

My kids highly enjoyed their time at the arcade. They also have a bar and restaurant, which we did not use.

Took my son for some fun on his birthday! Suzy the AMAZING and sweet bartender wished him a happy birthday and filled their Halloween mug full of a strawberry slushy, after telling her we were celebrating his special day. Games are very reasonably priced, more bang for your buck. Along with the prizes you can pick from the ticket redemption room. Definitely coming back next time we visit <3

We had a group of 5. Friday night. Long waits at the bar. One of your bartenders needs much more training. An old fashioned and manhattan should be easy drinks. They weren't. The other bar was fine but slow. The bowling alley employees couldnt/didn't fix our lane when it wouldn't reset, so we lost 15 minutes waiting on nothing. We ate elsewhere.

One star is too much for this place. I called to ask about the special and was told 15 dollars unlimited play up to 3 kids. When I arrived the young lady knew nothing about it. She did someone to help who basically said I could not have spoke to someone because he was the only one there. I showed him the call that occurred about 818am with no response! He did try to help me buy a plan for 60 but you don't get any tickets and some games are excluded! The man this morning said you do get tickets. Who do I b

We stumbled in here after striking out at the aquarium, and we're glad we did. I think we had more fun playing the games than we would have getting rushed through the Newport Aquarium. The staff was extremely friendly, especially the older gentleman and the bartender. The man recommended the Star Wars Battle Pod, and it was awesome. Nice selection of games and laid back, family-friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely go back, when we're in the area.

The food was great, the games were fun, but the best part about my visit was the scuba diver ??. She was kind and very interesting. She really made my day. If she ever reads this I hope it makes her smile. ??????

Easiest birthday party we ever planned. Aimee was responsive, friendly and straightforward. The staff was professional and everything they promised was delivered. The food was good and most important the kids had fun. Adults with kids attending the party could also stay for the fun or go enjoy the surrounding entertainment at the Levee if they wished. I recommend them for your child?s next birthday party.

Chris was great! Anything we needed, he was on it! We will definitely be back!!!

One HUGE complaint. We bought all day passes...( DONT!!) You can't use them on half the games, you can't earn tickets ect!! NO! They DONT WARN YOU about it either! So you pay nearly $130 for 2 only to find half the games unplayable due to their restrictions! Other than that typical arcade.

All pinball machines were broken, several of the arcade games were not working, the jug toss game didn't give me my last ball or the tickets I won (I had made 3 in the jug before this happened), some of the games take a ridiculous amount of credits, some don't pay out the jackpot even when you hit it. The claw machines all have the ufo style claws which makes it impossible and to win anything. The prize area has expired merch (boxes of gummy bears, gummy worms) that expired over a year ago. But on the posit

Great place, so much fun! Stopped by on a trip from NYC on our way back to the airport. The bartender Suzy was awesome. Not only was she fun and friendly but she even watched our luggage for us which made things so much easier. Thanks Suzy and Velocity for a great time for everyone. What a cool place!

the food was amazing and the service was even better! We had an amazing time.

Great place. Destiny & Chris, the bartenders, were awesome and very helpful!

My wife wanted to go to a Dave and Buster's type place and we saw a deal on Groupon for this and thought we would give it a shot. Deal came with two unlimited play cards to be used for the day. Unfortunately, most of the games you could compete between two players were not working well or were just out of service/broken. The ones that were working were the same genre (i.e., shooting, racing). Not a whole lot of variety in my opinion. The whole place needs more games that offer more variety and in general fe

We've come here a number of times with the kids, but the team in charge today at the front desk went above and beyond. They made sure that our family had an amazing time and more than made up for any minor inconveniences we may have had with game challenges. More teams need to learn from this crew of what to do to make an experience work talking about and remembering. Thank you.

Bright side, they have a ton of games. They had claw machines outside the building, but one play was $4! Ive been to several arcades in my area but never have I seen prices that inflated. 2 stars because it's not the workers fault, and everyone was friendly, but it's a bit too high for me.

This is a solid place, but what really made it stand out is the mechanic, Sam. At most other arcades, if a machine has an error, you have to leave your credit / track down a mechanic, who are always hard to find. Not Sam. He was always there, willing to help, with a smile and a kind word. Give this guy a bonus.

Not only was this the most expensive arcade we have ever been 2 but we did the 4 time cards and it gave us no tickets the whole time and we have 2 younger kids so whenbthe game time was up they swipe and it would say to wait, sometimes it would get down to 1 sec so they would swipe and then it would say 2 more seconds, chuck cheese is a 100 times better then this place. After owner comment. Dude we have been there on point cards and we end up paying over $100 in points you system is a joke, this is an arca

Paid $120 for an hour of bowling only for it to be wasted wondering where our pizzas were the whole time, finally found them dropped off on a table that wasn't ours, sitting next to other's trash. I will say, the manager made it right and brought out three new pizzas for us, but by the time we finally got it all resolved and got our pizzas, our game time had run out. We didn't even get to finish one game of bowling! We just ended up going home and playing cards instead.

Expensive food and drinks. A lot of broken games but the ones working were fun.

Family had a good time here, and the staff were all friendly

My wife and I has a good time. Haven't been out in a while. We did unlimited simulator play from a groupon that was about to expire. Hope you guys do that offer again sometime in the future. The older gentleman repairing games was very friendly with customers and did a great job of keeping the games up and running. Younger guys working the registers were friendly as well. The card reader for Luigis Mansion really needs swapped out, the card gets stuck half way and then doesn't read. Maybe consider swa

They closed 2 hours early did not tell us when we were buying our tickets and put a food order in. We did not find out about the early closing time until I went to order another drink, and he said oh we are closing at 730pm. Very unprofessional, not the best place. There are other places better to spend your money.

No one tells you intill after you buy an all day unlimited play card that they don't work in all other games. You can not win tickets playing with the cards either. Really you cant enjoy the day when you ate spending it trying to ecplain to very upset children that they can only play certain games! Shame on you Velocity! Those cards are NOT CHEAP and SHOULD INCLUDE ALL games! Lrsspn learned. Never again!

One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Newport, KY....great service and kid friendly

I messed up and booked a party at the wrong location. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that my son still had his birthday party!! Everybody was great and wonderful. We will definitely be coming back to you!!!

Poorly ran. Wife and I paid $16 for wristbands on a Saturday night to the social lounge. Place had dirty food baskets, beer mugs, and glasses on all tables. Pool tables are not level, shuffle boards are not level. The leveling ia so bad you cannot even play the games. Very cheap tables and boards to begin with. Also, nobody in there had wristbands but us so dont worry about buying the wristbands for the social lounge. Bartender told us they didnt have wristbands because those people work there and they are

I found a deal on Groupon, all day pass for two for $30. When I arrived, we got checked in and situated, halfway through playing this we realized we weren't getting tickets. When we asked an associate, they told us that tickets would be loaded directly onto our game cards. HOWEVER, what they didn't tell us, was that the all-day game pass prevents you from getting tickets. Nowhere on Groupon did it say this, nowhere on their website does it say this, and even the employees were baffled. This place sucks, the

It's a video arcade, but unlike a lot of video arcades this place is really clean and it's got some decent food options and the employees all seem nice, I wouldn't go there to get drunk though, the alcohol can be rather pricey :-) plus it would be a long walk back to the car not to mention drunken in public LOL " attempting to be humorous" anyway I've been to arcades that are a lot worse than this place it's a great place if you have kids you want to dump off and relax for a little bit and have a beer. " bu

place is great, bartenders are very good, put the game on for us!!

New seasonal menu out! The ceasar chicken wrap is phenomenal. If you like the salad you're going to love the wrap!

Had my son?s birthday party here & Suzie was the best! Made sure everything went smoothly & no one had to wait on a drink & food came out fast & hot! Will be returning.

Went to velocity esports in Newport two weekends ago and had a wonderful time! The bartender named Suzy was absolutely amazing from the minute we walked in we were greeted with warm friendly smile and bubbly personality. Will definitely be back In a couple weeks to bowl and bring the rest of our family.

Great drinks, love the tropical margarita. Noah, the bartender, took great care of us and really made our experience a blast. We got the two pack game cards and we are looking forward to coming back often!

We took our grandkids here today to play games and eat after we went to Newport Aquarium. So much fun. Julius hooked us up with play cards since our Groupon did not load. The bartender was amazing iand very kind to us. We will be back for sure. The Schaffers

All of the games we played were broken (5 in a row), the beer I got tasted off like the tap system wasn't clean or something and we had to ask for a refund. I gave them atleast 2 stars though because the staff gave us a refund with no fuss and the food that we got at the attached restaurant was decent.

I love that there is an area where the adults can hang out where children are not allowed. We were able to play pool, giant Yahtzee, giant Jenna and giant connect four as well as pinball and a few others without kids in there. (Nothing against kids but it was grownup time lol). However, the food sucks and the ordering process was horrible as well. They need some servers to go to the tables.

First time here and Suzie is absolutely amazing! Her smile is beautiful and her positive energy will keep me coming back! You all definitely hit the jackpot when you hired her

Extremely disappointed from this place. Wife and I spent $25 dollars to check it out as we were passing though and we're really excited to have some fun before I left for the week. Went in, and 90% of the games we attempted to play were either broken, took our credits without play, or the games are either so horribly calibrated with broke. buttons your plays are not worth the credits you pay for them. You can do so much better than what your putting out there. YVMV

Gameworks just changed their name! It's a great place for kids and birthdays. Inexpensive and they have coupons on Groupon all the time. All of their games work, and there is not an arm and a leg to play!

Had a day out with the kids, enjoyed the many selections of arcade games. Food was great and we had a great time. Highly recommend.

I Had Amazing Time Playing Arcade Games , Love Velocity Esports And Newport On The Leeve

The social gaming lounge was in terrible condition. It looks pretty, but when you actually try to play, one of the pool tables was uneven so all the balls rolled to one end. The other had multiple tears in the felt. Both were very run down. The 2 fooseball tables, one was wobbly and missing a handle, and the other the handles were loose so you couldn't play right. This explains why there was barely anyone there on a Friday night. The worker was nice enough to give us a playing card for the video games inste

Had a coupon for $30 two all day play passes, so couldn't earn tickets. This place feels similar to Dave and Buster's but quieter and smaller in size. There are more light gun games that can actually be finished versus DnB feeling more like a casino with all the chance games. The chance games are here too, but doesn't feel like as many. I also appreciated the BlazBlue, Tekken, and MVC2 cabinets at a more mainstream arcade. There are 4 pinball cabinets, but one was broke. Was cool to see those too. This pla

This is a neat place. Fun for a whole family and you can spend $5 per person and play billiards/Foosball, etc. until your hearts content. You buy an electronic card for the arcade style games and they have a prize area to redeem points. There is an open bar, the place is clean and well kept.

My first time here! Food and service was amazing!! Suzie is one of the best I've ever met! She definitely sets the atmosphere! Loved her!

Absolutely worst experience I've ever had! Not a single person had a clue what they were doing. Took us 30 minutes just to get game cards. Then were given wrong cards. Then took our food and drinks away after playing games for 4 minutes. I spent the entire time fixing their mistakes instead of spending time with my family! What an absolute joke!

Ate (good food & the person who took our order at the bar was friendly), kids played in the arcade and the esports lounge. Seth in esports lounge was super nice & helpful!

Has a decent little bowling alley area and great bar areas. Food is halfway decent despite being a little expensive. Arcade area is ok but needs to be updated in some areas.

Do not waste your money! Place is terrible, if you purchase a coupon on Groupon you do not get tickets. You're better off spending your money at Dave & Buster's which is cleaner has better staffing and more friendly

Wanted to be excited for this place. Wanted to get son into some tournaments. Went and there was nobody signed up for the tournament that day so we played some games. Only about half the games we tried actually worked. Seem like the same games from the old gameworks but not being maintained. I asked the guy about a schedule for tournaments but just said I have to check the website.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels.
