Great place to relax and unwind. They have a wide variety of classic games to play at 25 cents per play. They have great happy hour prices, for example, tonight they had $2 pizza slices. The employees are super friendly and helpful. It is a great atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food is limited to pizza only, but it is pretty good.

What a fun place!!! Whether you were raided in the 80's or not, this place is great! We have gone to the Up Down in Des Moines and loved it. Same owners, but the vibe is a little different. Bartenders were very nice. Atmosphere was a vibe. No issues with ordering. Only had issues with Aliens game player 2 being wonky all the other games I played worked great and reminded me of some arcade games from my childhood! Highly recommend as a hangout. A great date night spot! The games were a lot of fun and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. It was a Sunday night qe went and wasn't too busy. I only went for the games. The guy behind the bar counter was very nice and gave me more tokens when Dig It Doug ate my money and didn't work. I enjoyed playing Qbert for the first time.... and about 4 times after that. I was most successful at a pinball game. It was a hot day and rather hot inside the building too. But I enjoyed looking around and watching some girls freaking out over their high skee ball score.

Not as many games as the Nashville or Oklahoma City locations, but there is still plenty to do to keep you occupied and having fun. Pizza was good when I went, wouldn't fault them if it wasn't perfect anyway.

One of the best bars I've ever been to. A wide on tap selection, excellent pizza, and loads of arcade and pinball games to choose from. Best of all, the games were all very cheap compared to other similar places I've been. I got a slice of the meat pizza and it was fantastic. Keep in mind you can buy tokens from your bar tab.

There's an up down near where we live and it's a little bigger than this one but this one still maintains that nice vibe and they have lots of fun things to do. It was very nice to spend a few hours here playing arcades. The Thursday coin special is amazing if you're mostly here for the games

Visited from out of town and had a blast!! Went twice while I was in town and on one of the days received free tokens!! Fun selection of nostalgic games to play alone or with friends. Small upstairs area with mostly pinball machines and a few more arcade games. All of the drinks were great and very reasonably priced. Food options are available and the place has a very laid back vibe.

My family and I made a fun Sunday night trip out now that the whole bunch is 21 and over and had a great time.. Sundays host a 6 beer with 80 tokens in a fanny pack for $25 deal which was perfect for us . We played all of our classic favorite games and enjoyed really great pizza (huge slices of pizza) This is definitely a fun night out .

I occasionally take a walk over when I'm (mostly) by myself yet want to be *around* other people. They have several old school arcade games and pinball machines. Machines take tokens. The bar music is so loud that you can't always hear the music/sound from the games. Some of the games buttons are not as responsive as a well up kept machine would be. Layout is also fairly crowded. More of a bar with games than a game place where you can go to drink.

Great place to grab good drinks and enjoy classic arcade games. The drinks were reasonably priced and I spent less on drinks than I have at any other bar. You may occasionally run into the issue of people staying on one cabinet for long periods of time, though. Also, I would be careful with the Punch-Out! game, as it ate my tokens without letting me play. Other than that, it's a great place.

Best pizza and atmosphere in town! Nothing beats the patios in spring and summer time. If you are visiting KC, new to town and been born and raised here, Up-Down is a must!

Tons of arcade games, tables and chairs, space on the patio, good music, and it's not so loud that you can't have a conversation with the person next to you. An enjoyable bar, even for a group of 30 year olds whose late nights at the bar are way in the past.

Great choice in arcade and other games from Mario kart to skeeball. Great drinks and brilliant outdoors area for smoking or when the weather's good. Couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more whether we went on a night out or during the day.

Be prepared with cash and ID. Only go if you are with people or very extroverted. The space is small and can't be a bit of a cramp. It does get slightly crowded with a decent selection of old school games worth playing. The drink prices are slightly more expensive compared to the rest of the nation in the city area. The games are as cheap as we know and love from back in the day. I did not try the food.

The fact that y'all don't have busch heavy or wild turkey American honey is absolutely wild. Waitress even said yall had all sorts of everything. False... 30 dollars for a pizza is absolutely maddening. Get your food before you go. Their pizza isn't worth 6$ a price should be 3.50 like the pizza should be 20$ for how bland it was... not to mention, I had 5 different machines. Just take my tokens... I'm not sure if I'll return.

Up-Down is such a fun bar! They have great specials each day, but Sundays are easily the best - a 6-pack of beer and a pound of tokens (in a fanny pack!) for $25. Do yourself a favor, and get a piece of mac & cheese pizza from their kitchen. So tasty!

Tried to go there Saturday night to watch the KU basketball game but it was way too crowded and loud.. plus I'm too old of a fart for that crowd. Looks fun for the young people though.

Super fun place! I've been here for birthdays, dates, and first Friday's. There are tons of games so even when it's busy there is always something to do. People are generally very good about letting others take turns. Drinks are really well priced and well made! Oh and the Mac and cheese pizza is a must, absolutely delicious.

Door guy was nice and service was good. It was busy but still got beer fast. They have skee ball and Mario Kart on the big screen which is fun and the have tons of old school 80s and 90s arcade games. Beers are average price and they do have quite a bit of beers on tap. If you're into games and beers, I'd recommend it.

Great atmosphere for enjoying the company of others over a few drinks or some challenging to a vast array of arcade!! Pizza available to tie you over between full meals is above what you might expect. The energy of this place was uplifting! Highly recommend for a first date, entertaining out of town family, or even a casual place to conduct business.

I really enjoy Up-Down. The beer choices are varied and periodically change. The best though is the collection of pinball machines that you can play for a single token per game. My favorite tables are Stern Deadpool because it is so funny and easy to play and Stern KISS. "You Wanted the Best! You Got the Best! The Hottest Band in the World!" and an equally great machine.

Good place to have fun with friends! My favorite is Pinball and 5P Pac-Man. 4 stars just because some of the machines didn't work right or at all. They have decent pizza if you are hungry and pretty good choice of drinks. And I'm waiting for the weather to warm up a little bit so we can play that Huge Jenga!

Been a few times and honestly if there is one actual complaint, nearly all the machines in the location have some level of "man this needs fixed" if you are there for the games and booze is secondary. I realize restoring CRT screens is a big ask, but replacing sticks and buttons should be something they have anyone that's handy with a screwdriver do in off hours.

The most fun I've ever had at a bar. Only paid $31 for 2 beers and 2 cocktails which for me is a fantastic deal. It was busy but we still found some games to play. I was impressed how EVERY game was working! I can't wait to come back.

Really fun place to go! A ton of beers on tap, different themed cocktails and a lot of great arcade games!! Skee ball, basketball, pinball and a lot of older arcade games. Super enjoyable! They do serve decent pizza as well. The one call out is that a few of the games weren't functioning properly and didn't have out of order signs on them. Just a few, so didn't diminish my experience.

It was busy, there were lots of people, our group of five got right in, went to the patio found seating. We walk up ordered pizza, which was fresh, hot and fast. Our drinks arrived at the table as we did and the servers were appreciably attentive. Convenient short walk to the street car route.

I just want to say thank you to this staff! While playing the pop-shot game I lost my grandmothers ring. It fell off my hand while shooting. I gave my information to the staff in hopes they would find it at close. One of their staff stopped people from playing the game and got INTO THE MACHINE and opened it up to look and find my heirloomed ring in the middle of a busy Friday night. I cannot express how grateful I am for the staff for understanding the importance of that ring and for helping me find it.
