This place is amazing. Our daughter was admitted at the CHOP Seashore House and was able to go here on a 4 hour weekend leave. While, we had to carry her up the few stairs at the entrance, the staff made up for it with their service. They were kind and accommodating. We would highly recommend this to any family staying st CHOP who is permitted to leave for a few hours.
I was too busy having a blast with the kids to take too many pics. This place was worth every penny. The machine selection was big considering it's not a huge place. Well lit. Safe location and immediate surroundings. The attendant, not sure if he was the owner was outstanding. We able to wander without care. The prize selection makes.any kid happy. We went.in the early evening and found a spot right in front. So fun. We went and took pics about the downtown area and had an all around nice evening. Would l
Despite parking isn't easy to find, I think this place is great! There's are quite a few games to play even though the place is small. But hey that doesn't matter right? You'll have tons of fun! I know this is my first time coming but it surely won't be my last.
I don't think I could be bothered to go to D&B or anywhere else when this place exists. So clean, well-lit, friendly staff, not to mention Reasonably Priced! My 6 and 9 year-olds, and my husband and I all had fun. Will return.
Fun, safe and clean! Latest and greatest plus many old type favorites. Quality prizes at prize counter and in prize machines. Cut2Win is a blast to play! Lots of fun ticket and prize games. You won't find any junk, broken down games here. Really like the play card system. Makes paying for games and reloading game play credits easy at the self service kiosk. Staff is friendly and helpful. A super fun place to spend time with family and friends or even by yourself.
The University Family Fun Center is a blast! I learned that it is the last arcade in the city, and it's been operating since 1977. Anyone can see how it's lasted this long! There are plenty of classic games you can play, but there are a ton new/updated machines, too, that are super cool and unique! The facility is also clean and well-maintained. The staff there is very nice and helpful (huge shout out to Sam who's a gem!). I'll definitely be returning - there's something there for everyone!
My daughter has a great time here. It's not too big, but just right for a couple hours of fun. Restaurants nearby are convenient. Parking is also not bad.
Awesome family fun.Small ,but packed full of games for all to play, from Mrs.pac man ,to skee ball, air, hockey and many more games and prizes to be one.Great value also on cards. We wi be back
Small arcade in the heart of University City, this has been a favorite of myself and my children for years now. Many favorites, like pinball, air hockey, basketball, skeeball, and a "jukebox". Old school games like Tekken and soul Calibur, as well as driving games. Great place on a warm summer night to hang out with a great pizza place across the street.
The family fun center is fun but it's small. They need more space and more games.
Good amount of games that appeal to younger kids. Our 3 year old had fun there.
Best place I ever been to as a kid
My best friend and I took our daughters out to this arcade. It was awesome. Very clean and super friendly staff. Definitely worth taking time out to visit. They also had a place for all the parents to watch the game while the kids played. Although we did get to play some games with them too. Totally a great Sunday afternoon!
It's clean and well cared for. We went for the pinball. It only has 2 pins, with with Insider Connect, and they were offline for the day. Staff was friendly.
pretty hip and a rather good place to kill some time, but space in there can feel squeezed (same for that one-person restroom and for events such as birthday parties)
Since I was 4 years old, I have been coming to this arcade for a quarter century. It is a historal landmark of West Philadelphia that has stood the test of time. That being said in contrary to the 4/5 stars, this place in the 2020s is more of a 3.5/5 a true family fun center but bit of a shadow of what it use to be. It still has its racing and of course the Galaga/Ms.Pacman cabinet, even a few ride shooters. But there's something missing, the sights, the sounds. It feels cold, very clean but it's missing
This may be one of the oldest still around. I remember when my kids were young they would come here. Now my grandson comes here. It is always clean and well organized. It opens early is another plus for an old girl like me. Whenever I am in the University City area I make it a point to come and yes this old girl likes to play the game machines too!!!
Always a great place to take anyone at any age. Its in an awesome location. Public transportation is close which makes it better to get there if you don't drive. The staff is friendly. The machines are up to date. The price is coins are reasonable.
Had a great time here with the family. Since our last visit here, they changed to a card system which means no more fumbling with coins, a big plus in my book. Kids liked the race car games, I liked the pinball selection.
Had a blast! Spent $10 and played for more than an hour.
I absolutely love this arcade. I have been going there since I was a child, now I take my children. I wish they would have expanded by now and add a coat room. It is like a mini Dave and Buster. You win tickets for a majority of games you play, that you can redeem for prizes. Great place for family entertainment.
This is a great place to spend some time. I often take my young son there early in the morning, especially in the winter months. In the mornings, it's not crowded, and it's a great way to spend some of those winter months when you feel trapped inside.
This is a great local Fun Center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My child enjoyed all the games and had a blast. Its easily accessible via public transportation and within walking distance of restaurants and the movie theater in the area.
I held my son?s birthday party here and the kids loved it. Lots of games to keep the kids? attention and the staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
At least once a month, I enjoy coming here. The games are always fun to play. I usually play with $10, but they let you play with any amount up to $100. It's always a blast, especially winning top prizes if you're lucky enough.
A place I'd definitely take the kiddos, but a chill place to hang out as a 20 something as well. Plenty of old school arcade games but a lot of other upgrades. No frills or thrills, just good fun to be had. Prizes include small stuffed animals and candy. Spend $10-20 and let nostalgia take you away.
Now back in the day....10-15 years ago, this was THE SPOT to play games, especially fighting games. They even brought in import games not released in the states. Eventually they transitioned into ticket and skill games. I miss the old days. I would take the little ones here but with no Street Fighter, I'll sit in the car outside.
Younger crowd, a bit noisy and not too big but it served me well on a family night with the kids. I didn't see any food or drinks except for a vending machine. The games use tokens so be economical and buy the larger package then walk outside and get a burger or some pizza across the street.
The items are buyable with the amount of tickets you get in the games. Some games stole tokens and act like it didnt get 6 tokens and only needed 4 to start. All and all my kids had a fun time and would come back for sure.
My God children enjoyed themselves. Only thing that needs work is the staffs taking too many smoke breaks. You have to wait for them to finish smoking a cigarette so you can redeem your ticket receipt.
As high as Dave and Busters now. Make sure you have all your kids stuff. Someone lifted my daughter's phone and I was told the cameras couldn't be reviewed. Left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Was there a couple of weeks ago. Had fun with my daughter until it was time to redeem our tickets and leave... The prize redemption area was closed. Very rare for a weekend and both my 7 yr old & myself were very disappointed that we couldn't cash them in.
They accommodating us on short notice there help on making October 17th made my son's birthday celebration a big success. V was awesome he was helpful, accomadating and very patient, actually all the employees was very helpful couldn't of pulled off such a succesful celebration without there help. I had an extremely happy kid.
This is a fun cheap place to kill some time. Great service too, SkiBall ate one of my tokens and they gave me 4 in return. There is also plenty of variety in what you can play from kiddie & carnival games to racing & pinball. I plan on going back whenever I have some time to kill and a few spare dollars.
This arcade center is a place for all ages. It have variety of games to play such as pinball machine; pac- man; basketball hoop game; ninja slice game; racing car game and many more fun games. It a community arcade near 4oth spruce and surrounded around "Penne University College. Like myself I don't have a car; you have easy access to public transportation. You have "Market Frankford line; 21 bus;etc. Lots of security officer. Police travel on the time around the area. Oh; yes arcade is neat and clean
Have been going to this place for decades. I was a kid going here. Now my kids gets excited the minute I mention it.This place is the true definition of an arcade. Staff are and HAVE ALWAYS been ideal for an arcade. The icing on the cake is that it's very pocket friendly.
Hadn't been in a loooooooong while. Use couns now so have a twenty dollar bill ready. The Clown game is addictive. Great family fun. Staff is helpful and respectful. Make sure to watch your tickets the unsupervised kids will try to get you. Lol.
There are a good variety of games, but there are more games where you win tickets to get prizes than actual video games. They also have a few pinball machines. Overall it's a pretty good place to waste some time and money if you're into arcades.
If you're looking for general arcade fun, this place is great. It's a little lacking in skill games, though, unless you like fighters (they have a few). Also, for a place with "Pinball" in the name, the pickings are quite slim.
I'll admit it, I'm an arcade geek, and there's nothing better than an old school arcade, especially with all the classic games. Passed by this place so many times and had been so eager to check it out, so last week I had the chance to. I had a few spare bucks so I got myself $3 worth of tokens, played a couple games of Skeeball, and a few other games nearby. They have everything from old school Pacman to Whack-A-Mole (or something similar) to Guitar Hero to machines where you aim to win as many tickets a
Had a good time with my little one and games were in working order. Have to state that the staff were not wearing masks and were moving about in the arcade. I was not comfortable with that at all especially when it comes to children
I mean I gave it 4 stars even tho it's not my favorite arcade tbh I just like arcades and they don't take quarters. Also................., They don't have rampage or the Simpsons game or time crisis 2 or 3. Still you should try it out. Support a local cade'
Smaller than Dave and Buster's, but big enough for plenty of fun. My daughter had a blast. There are a lot of games, and things to do. The only thing she hated was leaving.
Haven't been here in years... But probably the best arcade in the city. I'm 37 and used to live in this place as a kid. Has stood the test of time. Just wish I could visit this place more often
Plenty of games, clean facility, and attentive staff.
I'm 51 now this was my favorite place to be at when I was a kid that arcade games This is the SPOT if you like arcade games or a gamer they have the old old games??????????
My children younger children (9 & 11) had a really good time. My teenage (15) could have passed on the outing. I found the games to be a bit expensive and there is no where to sit down. This place will do in a pinch.
Fun place for kids and parents. My first time here with my son. Staff there was friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will return
Still a great place to go! But it more of a toddler place now. It use to have street fighter and marvel vs capcom but now its all kids stuff still a fun spot
Stopped there for the kids to play. Glad i did ! Place is clean, games are fun, and very very affordable. Thanks for the great time!
If you need a fun hour with the kids, a nice fun date this is the place to go $20 get you 100 tokens. Me and my baby had a great date
My 9yr old love this place. Cool atmosphere for family fun. Reasonable prices. You van win cool prizes for kids.
Best arcade! I went with low expectations based on some of the reviews, but it turned out to be so good. They have great games, their hours are unbeatable, and the staff are really friendly.
Really nice I just wish the building was bigger. I also wish you did not have to spend so much for families with more than one child.but i know thats the way the dog barks.oh..well.
It's a very fun and enjoyable time for everyone, any age. The prices are inexpensive, affordable. The staff are helpful and courteous. A family place.
This place use to be amazing. Unfortunately, they got rid of their major fighting games. The ones that actually brought in older visitors. They no longer have Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, House of the dead, and Guitar Hero ??????
A leftover from a bygone era, this place is more or less a tiny version of Dave & Buster's. You know the drill: play the games with coins you buy, win the tickets, get the prizes. The games are pretty outdated though, and the selection is slim. After ten years living in the area I only went here because a friend got a groupon for something crazy like 1000 coins for $10. We ended up mostly playing air hockey and Ms. Pac Man, and it was more about enjoying each other's company than the establishment, which fe
Great place for all ages of family fun! There are many varieties of video games, photo booths to capture silly or romantic pictures. They also have fun prizes for children!
My daughter and godson had a ball. It was fun except for when we were ready to leave and cash out our tickets, no one showed up at the register for about 25 minutes
Great place; me and my kids enjoy Time there.
i went when it just open and there was none there
It's a fun place to go and chill with your kids or ur friends.. it's good for adults to I been here 1 time and I had so much fun I felt like a kid again...
Been going here for a few years now with my son and we love this place. Especially Allegro's Pizza across the street ! They have the best pizza!
It's changed as far as no more coins ...its cleaner ..the employees were super nice and helpful especially this 1 employee an Asian or Chinese I think on Sunday anyhow just being with my grand Queens and ?? was the deal ?? ?
Great place to hang out. It's also clean and staff are friendly. I love that they switched to cards and added some new equipment!
Very clean with a good selection of arcade classic and newer ones.
I enjoy taking my son's here but the only thinking that I didn't like tonight was that the owner shut everything down at 7:40 when they clearly close at 8!
Can't always avoid some of the kids that come in but the staff is great. Fun for the whole family. Neat and clean and doesn't smell.
My grandkids would love this place let me ride down the street they know where we're going and they have fun every time the service is great as well what is That Fun Place
Fun place to take a kid. Not far in travel and not much money to spend. There's no food but there's many food places around. My son has so much fun.
Was a nice arcade great money/token value. prize's were not worth it my kids said we should have went to Chuck-E-Cheese for the amount of money we spent
Great games and some of the most affordable token prices I've ever seen! Great for families and great for pinball lovers to drop in for a bit and play!
Absolutely love this place! My kids and I had so much fun that we may make it a monthly date!
This place is small but fun. The staff have always been friendly and they keep it clean.
It's such a great place to go and hang out with the family! The prices are reasonable and they have a good variety of games.
Took my grandson and nephews. They had a ball. Very nice atmosphere
Been coming through for years since I was a preteen, now I bring my children. I remember when half the place was a laundromat. Oh! the joy of washing clothes then.
Very reasonable, and fun for the kids & adults.
Depending on when you go the place would be filled with kids but what did I expect I was going to an arcade the only thing that would make it better if they had a bar like Dave and Buster's but it's not that type of Place Family Fun and close
Np, I Literally just came from there and have been going here on and off for 10+ years now and I've had my bad days here but my good days out weight my bad days and also I love the new look ????
Pretty crowded but fun just make sure you know what you want at checkout cause people like to barge in front of your way.
Something for everyone. Arcade racers, fighting games, games of luck, air hockey, skee ball, basketball, kid sized games - and it's in a vibrant neighborhood. Definitely an authentic arcade experience.
Nice cheap, fun,my boys had a blast we will be returning when we're in philly again
Great place to come and have fun me and my hubby go all the time real old school and I love that!!!
Now here was so much fun, my grandson who is six had a ball. He won tickets and picked out nice gifts.
THAT WAS GREAT. MY GRANDAUGHTER AND I WERE THERE ALONE FOR AN HOUR. THE ATTENDANT WAS NICE AND FRIENDLY. THE PLACE WAS CLEAN AND THE ATTENDANT WAS FRIENDLY. HE TAUGHT US HOW TO PLAY AND WIN A NEW GAME.
Great place to bring your kids and be safe doing so.
I was a big kid in this place...it was fun. Came here to kill time until our movie started I had a blast.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
