Wow, what an incredible playland for my toddler! There's so much to keep the kids entertained multiple bouncy houses with slides, a wide variety of arcade games, and a massive main play area filled with obstacle courses, slides, and not one but two ball pits. It's perfect for kids of all ages, and I really appreciate that adults can join their little ones in the jungle style play structure. My only issue is the snack bar pricing. A regular bag of chips and a soda cost around $3, and a single pizza runs $25
Had my daughter's 7th birthday here today and when i say it was beyond expectations! My party host Diamond was attentive, helpful, kind and prepared, she made our experience awesome . The play-land in itself is huge ! Plenty of things for the kids to do and they have staff watching to keep everyone safe in almost every corner of the establishment. We loved it , we will be coming soon!
The monthly pass is an amazing deal. My kids absolutely love this place. Arcade is fun and reasonable. Clean and safe. Staff is friendly and attentive Excellent place to throw a childs birthday party. We are big fans of T-Rex Playland!! Conveniently and centrally located between Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Norfolk!!
Looks like a lot of fun but it's actually set up in a way that doesn't allow you to keep a good eye on your kids. The center of the gymnasium/net jungle gym is impossible to watch from outside the play area. There are areas you just cannot keep an eye on. The kids get pretty rough in there with no supervision and then you're left wondering who started what. Not ideal. Haygood skate center has a nice little jungle gym just like this but only $5 and you can easily see every corner.
DO NOT BOOK A PARTY!! We paid 400 for a party that only include 5 kids and for 400 you only get the room for 2 hours we came at 4 had to be gone by 6The worst part is the older white she stood over us the whole time made it very uncomfortable she also called herself ear hustling we brought 18 kids and did not know if we need more food before we could ask if we could pay for more food she came back with a policy book didn't ask any questions or anything just came in rudely interrupted our conversation and st
This place is a huge playground for kids with everything from blow up jumping rooms to arcade games to the big "fenced" in area in the middle. The place in the middle is 2 story and big so it's hard to see your kids on the second level. Parents can come in on the first level but not the second. All kids have to wear socks in this area. I saw signs saying no shoes so I took off my shoes in order to enter & try to keep an eye on the kids. After quit a while in there a male employee comes up to me and says I
While this place is great for a child 2 years old and up, I was disappointed that they still wanted to charge 13 dollars for a nine month old baby to be able to sit in the ball pit. I felt this was an unreasonable charge for a child under 1 as they can not participate in much of anything that the toddler area has to offer. I would understand a nominal fee of 5 dollars or something but 13 per baby was too much. Also, they did not measure the children for height, they just went off what I said I wanted so I e
Loved this place the first time I went with my 1 year old, second time I just went this recent Saturday older lady at the front desk was very aggressive. Was in the toddler area talking to another parent she stated the same. I brought my 1 and 9 year old niece here. I'm not sure how they do sanitation but they both now have hand foot and mouth disease sadly won't be back.
Fun place for all ages. Decently priced snack bar, plenty of seating, awesome toddler area and arcade etc. will definitely return again
Had my daughter?s birthday here over the weekend. Everyone had an absolute blast. I could not recommend this place enough for birthday parties. Not only it being one of the cheaper options for a group of 10 kids, but also they allow you to bring in party trays for the Parents. The only thing that I wish I knew ahead of time was, we didn't have a lot of time to decorate our room ahead of the party. Gramma was an absolute delight to work with as well!
I had my granddaughters 7th birthday party on Sunday. I booked the party without checking out the place first. I was extremely happy. The place is very clean, there is plenty of room for everyone, and the kids had a great time. Definitely the best value for a kids party in the Hampton Road area. We will definitely be coming back.
The absolute worst for toddlers. Faculty do not watch the toddler area. Bigger kids should not be in the toddler area when there is soo many places in the building for them to go. If faculty and sorry excuse for parents are not going to watch the bigger kids then Toddler area should not be there and advertised. Definitely taking it higher for baby safety and morale. Poor job!
Too crowded. Staff and parents not watching their children. I saw kids tussling each other in the bounce house. I was charged the price of 4 and up for my 3 year old who just turned 3. Too chaotic to enjoy The food looks disgusting
We had a Birthday Party there. The host (Diamond) was great. The kids had a lot fun. And the whole facility is very clean.
Such an awesome place! Affordable, clean, excellent customer service, cannot wait to go back! You can tell the owners take pride!
This is a great new play place. They had my grandson's 2nd birthday party here and the staff was amazing! The play area entertained kids of all ages for hours! If you're in the area or looking for something to do with kids in a rainy day, I highly recommend TRex Playland!
We love this place! The monthly passes are really reasonable ($30), the bounce house selection is unmatched, and the play place is perfect for younger kids. They're always cleaning, and the staff is incredibly helpful.
We took one of our kids yesterday and he had the absolute greatest time! Definitely an upgrade from the other kids play places in the area that have been going downhill. Very clean, well organized, and lots of fun ?? They have the play structure, bounce houses, toddler area, an arcade, quarter machines, party rooms, and a kitchen they're hoping to open soon. 100% worth the price and worth the trip.
I love this place I have a 9yr old son who will stay here all day to play then my daughter works here and the managers here are great so if you need a job or have a young child this is the place to be.
The kids had an absolute blast here. Its a nice change from the same old things there are for kids to do in the area. It kept them really occupied and they were upset when it finally closed for the night and we had to leave. The staff is amazing, friendly and really seem to want to be here. They constantly walk the place and keep it clean as well. We will be back soon.
They accused my son of cheating because he bought a Lego set which was worth 6000 tickets and they made us pay for grippy socks and then an employee kicked my kids for not having a wristband and it didn't say anywhere that you needed a wristband to play so I went to talk to them and they said I needed to pay an emission when I get in but it didn't say that anywhere either
Brand new place so everything is in great condition. Friendly staff who seem to be on top of everything. Wish the sitting area was in the front to monitor the kids better, but overall very cute place for kids to get energy out. Smaller gym area than funville, but they make up for it with the bounce houses, which I really like.
Do not bring your kids here staff are very rude !! Overcharging for pizza 22$ The pizza is not even fresh they get the pizza already made fry made and warm it up ! They told us the party was over at 6:30, but it was other kids still playing and they close at 7 o'clock these pppl are Racist
My girls loved it, will be back kudos for free adult admission bc admission alone for the kids is expensive as it is so Im glad I can be able to go inside the play area and watch my kids.
So excited about them opening! Went my two toddlers. They are tiny and the parents are allowed to go anywhere except for the top of the play area. So your kids can be there alone with other bigger kids and I can't see or help so that was really a downside and I don't know if I will continue to go there. Funville you can go anywhere which gives me peace of mind. I don't want my child going anywhere at 1 and 3 where I'm told I can't be with them if I have to.
I found Trex earlier this week just while driving past on Military, and they only had a handful of reviews but all the reviews were so great; friendly staff, clean, lots for the kids to do. I'm happy to say Trex Playland lived up to those reviews! My husband and I took our high-energy 3 year old and boy did he have a blast! The owners were at the front desk and were so friendly and accommodating. It's like modern day chuck-e-cheese plus MULTIPLE bounce houses. Even the toddler area had a lot of cool play th
Really Fun but pricy. 25$ per child including socks to access everything. I would get the membership if I lived in the area.
Wow!!! Wish I was a kid again! Crazy fun and great staff! Loved every single minute.Took grandkids for bday party and it was so well done!! Thank you thank you!
I absolutely love how the staff are consistently cleaning recommend this place if you have a toddler and especially with it being cold outside during winter great time for your kids to burn off their energy
Good for the kids. Carry a backpack for belongings as there is no secure storage for kids shoes or jackets.
They have a large climbing maze. Several bounce houses. A small arcade and even a well stocked toddler area. My child is 2 and had an absolute blast. Was there for over 3 hours
Brand new place! It has two big ball pits, a seperate toddler area. Very clean. It also has machines to play with and snacks to order. Very clean! hopefully it stays that way.
Trex is great for kids birthday parties. Small snack bar, clean restrooms, friendly staff.
Great place I love that I can upload money to cards 1$ at a time
A fun and safe place that my kids loved. They ask everyday to come back. Can't wait for the next visit.
clean and plenty of space for kids to run around
Great place to take the little ones and reasonably priced
Great place for little kids to play in safe environment
Clean Friendly Safe Good prices too
The play gym is big and the kids loved it!!!
My grandlady birthday party was excellent. She really enjoyed herself
Love this place, it's so much for the kiddos to do. The workers and owners are super nice and helpful.
The old lady was very rude and the place was disappointing I seen a water bug
We are opening Saturday, October 5 at 10 am!!! Come one come all! Come have a roaring good time!
My toddlers love this place.
Way better than funville
Grandson loves this place.
Great for kids and friendly staff.
My kids loved it ????
Definitely recommend this place for toddlers. Tons of fun for them. There is tons to do and a lot of bouncy houses to choose from.
My grandson said he had the best time, made my day, I will be going back
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
