Tilt Studio Magnolia

Tilt Studio Magnolia

Reviews Summary

The arcade receives mixed reviews, with many praising its variety of games, cleanliness, and family-friendly atmosphere, while others criticize high prices, broken machines, and poor customer service. Positive experiences highlight fun activities, VR games, and reasonable credit prices, but negative feedback focuses on unhelpful staff, malfunctioning equipment, and perceived greed in pricing. Some find it a great nostalgic spot, while others feel it's overpriced and poorly managed. Service quality appears inconsistent, with several reports of rude or indifferent employees. Overall, enjoyment seems heavily dependent on individual experiences with staff and machine functionality.

Customer Reviews

Shiny lights and lots of noise, this arcade is a fantastic place for adults to enjoy their repressed inner kid (and a bit of nostalgia). I can only tell you what a not-busy time (Monday, Lunch) was like--and it's pretty fantastic! How often do adults get to feel that child-like wonder with few actual children running through your fantasy or needing your attention? The place was swept up and well kept, the bathrooms clean, and if I had more time I definitely would have wanted to give the black light golf or

Purchased a package , was told we had an hour to play. Before hour was up, we went to the desk to put $20 on the card so my daufhter could play the claw machines. Card stopped working after 2 games. Went back to front desk and managwr told us money cant be added to package during the hour or it messes the cards up. We were told only thing we can do is wait an hour to use.... not comimg back.

Nice venue but the customer service is terrible. Our host was nice but everyone else seem aggravated and kind of rude. I had my son's birthday party here and it was a mix up with the pizza I ordered and one of our soda's was frozen. They acted like they didn't care. Nice place to play games but maybe not birthday parties. If the customer service was better it would be the ideal place.

The manager said I had to arrive the day before to set up what I wanted to bring. It clearly says on the website, to arrive 15-30 minutes before the party to set up. Then told us only one person could be in the room to set up, and I only had 10 minutes. Then you could hardly ever find your host, had the wrong name on the birthday sign, and it took them forever to fix it. I got the premier package and did not get the premier experience. Then they cleaned the room without me knowing and my rain jacket with my

Great place to take the family but they need more benches or chairs to for people to sit down. They have two rooms for Birthday parties. The rooms are already decorated you have to provide the food and drinks. They have games for all ages. Bowling, bumper cars, laser tag, and mini golf. They run weekly specials which is awesome.

The last few times experience has been better, but the value for your money is kind of hit or miss. The machines really need to cost 2-8 points LESS overall - or at least a bigger margin with VIP. 10 points per game for 1-2 minutes of game play is steep. The facility is starting to go downhill, several games malfunction, and the staff wants to argue instead of just giving you the points back onto your card to play something else. After persistenting, they gave half of my points back.

SERVICE WAS UNACCEPTABLE, we were only there for 5-10 minutes, the games do NOT work, Elizabeth was persistent that the games were ?time sensitive? but that wasn't the case their machines are just broke?we DIDNT receive ANY refund not even a partial one. All employees brushed us aside and the shift leader was VERY RUDE, 0 STARS.

customers service was awful. Gaming equipment, card service is a rip off. Ask for a manager, but no one showed up. I went there to review for upcoming family event of 100+ people. I will come back and I suggest you spend your hard earn money somewhere else. This place is below 1 star.

Great arcade with a great variety of games. Good value. Customer service lacking a little. A little too indifferent.

Always good for some family fun. The credits are reasonably priced and my daughter always has a great time.

Genuinely awful gameplay experience. As an arcade operator my experience here was truly not worth the price of admission. Nearly every game that isn't redemption just doesn't work. Light gun games are either non-calibrated LCDs or have physically broken guns. Bowling detects every single ball thrown as a gutter or 1. Drivers have pedals stuck all the way down. You can tell that this is a corporate location that outside of redemption no one actually cares if things work or are fun or not. 100% not worth yo

Very unhelpful and rude staff. Claw machines are definitely a ripoff and some of the games did not work properly and took points off anyway. It's not a very pleasant environment. Staff is useless and don't seem to care about the patrons and the manager looked high or drunk. He walked out with a female to the parking lot and seemed way off when he went back in. Was on the cellphone when we asked for help and was not helping at all. Been several times and each experience is the same. It needs quality brought

Refused to give me a refund for a riding machine in the lobby they knew had issues. They only offered to replace the coins instead of giving my money back. I'm still stuck with 8 NO CASH VALUE COINS. I'm going to waste them on another broken machine and keep going in circles with replacing the coins. I lost $5 but it's the principle !!

So many of the games are broken, while complaining to the staff about it they not only acted like they didn't care but acted like I was just attempting to get something for free. Baby games were broken, air hockey broken, VR racing broken, Jurassic world shooting games broken, it was a waste of time to be there. If they fixed the issues and got a more attentive staff it would be a fun place to go. Until then I see no point in going back.

This was a fantastic spur of the moment date spot for me and my girlfriend. We played putt putt and several arcade machines. The staff was fantastic and super helpful. 12/10 would go again! Also be aware the claw machines don't pay out often.

This arcade is awesome! The only downside is we spent $85 (subtract some for The Walking Dead game) on stuffed animals and missed tries. There is definitely a chance to win from the claw machines, people need to stop whining. I'm sure some of the claw machines could be a little off, but many people including myself walked away with big stuffed animals! It's a big place and I'm surprised you can golf in there, too! Very clean and I will be spending roughly $20 each time in future visits. So much fun!

We had a lot of fun. Some games are on the expensive side. There is a lot to do. Fun for all ages

I had a blast going to tilt studios. It's a great place to go and pass the time at the mall. They're loaded with games, from pinballs, claw machines, laser tag, bumper cars, and even a mini golf course. This place deserves 5 stars!!! I recommend this place for everyone!!!

We had a birthday party for my son on Oct 12 at the Florence, SC location. On Oct 10, a representative from the location called and confirmed my food order, what activities we could do and the number of kids. I was told that due to my son turning 6, he would not be able to do the bumper cars or laser tag but could do the bowling and miniature golf. I was ok with that. On the day of the party, we arrived around 2:10, party was starting at 2:30. One of the attendants took me to the room and left. I start

This park had VR machines but we didn't use them. There is an indoor Putt Putt Golf course with two courses each, there is plenty of different games like Pinballs, Shooting Games and Skeeball. All tickets are transferred to your arcade card for easier redeem at the kiosk.

Great staff, very clean and organized location. Problem is I most wanted to play some pinball, but the tilt sensitivity was set so high on the machines (tried 3) I kept losing my money due to it. I was not shaking the machines, only using the flippers. I have played machines all over the place never had machines set so sensitive they were unplayable.

The place is fun for kids but if you have to deal with any of the staff they're pretty useless. We had a machine malfunction and apparently it needed a manager to fix. She came out and seemed like she was going to help us and asked a few questions, then completely disappeared. We spent half the time we had allotted to spend there waiting for her to come back and help but she never did and we had to leave. If she had just told us she wasn't going to be helpful, we could have at least not wasted our time wait

Staff was pleasant, the prices aren't too bad - there were even a few deals available. We've been twice and will absolutely go back again. I'm SO GLAD Florence has something like this! There were tons of game and prize options, it was clean - there were even a few hand sanitizer stands I noticed. I would highly recommend, and will definitely be back!

I come here often with my younger brother who's autistic. The male manager seems to be good and does his best. Other staff either have atitudes or act like they would rather not be bothered or be there period. Other than that, it's a clean place with a mix of older and newer games sometimes you have issues with the game card not working or broken machines, but it's ok.

This place is a ripoff with incredibly rude staff. When one of the games didn't work (screen stayed black) after my daughter scanned her card, we went to the desk to let them know and have the points refunded. The older woman at the desk was incredibly rude and wouldn't refund all of the points she lost. Argued with us about how many points were taken, and just had a trash attitude. She was so hostile that we just ended up leaving. I've emailed corporate, so hopefully they correct the issues at this locatio

half of the games were broken. Came and purchased two games of the laser which is 20 points per game. me and my bf bought two. no lasers came on and the game was broken instead of reimbursed for our points they offered a game of equvient value. we chose the bowling keep in mind there are only three games in the whole arcade worth 20 points. after starting our game a worker had to come over and get the bowling bowls because the game too was not working. after getting the balls for us. the game fouled both of

The couple package was not explained until after we paid that you cannot use your hour on all the games and then you can't stay at one game. The mini golf course had lots of bubbles in the rug and not great to shoot putt-putt in the dark. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The older lady with a walker was kind of not as friendly. But over all it was ok for a fun time, if you could play all the games.

I bought 3 datenight packages. My cards would not work. The lady kept saying it does work it does work. It did not work. Then I ask her to come see she brushed me off so I politely asked for my money back and they told me. I would have to wait 3 days to get it back. The general manager Robin has terrible at customer service she kept trying to. Throw the situation to other staff members under her..Robin refused to give me a the customer service number. This place is not worth anybody MONEY TRASH

Total rip-off. My granddaughter was in today and her machine got stuck, so an employee at the counter came over and used her card to try to get it to work. It didn't work but the price came off of her card anyway and she lost all of her tickets. He made no attempt to reimburse her or make the situation right. We will never go in there again. Worthless employees.

dont go here unless your ritch 50 dollers dosent get you eny where here they tell you 50 dollers gets you 250 plus 50 bonus witch is 250.50 and each machine takes 12 to 32 points you do the math i feel very scamed out of my money specialy with this card system i rather use cash per machine so i know what i have or what im spending vey junkie arcade very empty inside now i know y

Kids and friends had a good time at the Tilt Arcade

The arcade games are really expensive. You spend $30 for 150 points. So that's equivalent to 5 points per $1. The games range from 8 points to 36+ points. So most of the popular games cost 7 to 10 dollars per play. The kids had fun but the cost of the games is just too expensive. I gave each of my 3 kids $30 a piece and they went through it in about 15 minutes. The staff was friendly and there was a good variety of games. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money if you plan on staying any longer than 30 min

I had my twins 7th birthday here. Overall they enjoyed themselves but It is expensive. For the really good games you're looking at 20points or more. The staff did make sure to help during the party but for sure had attitudes. They could?ve kept that energy. Really low key nice nasty. Need to have more patience especially with first timers , small children, and larger groups. Especially the party host if there was someone else I would?ve asked she be replaced.

Please fix your token counting machines. If there's a known problem with how it counts large amounts of tokens, maybe put a sign up? This place is overpriced for what it is. You're better off going to Dave & Buster's for a lot more to do. If we win 2600+ tickets from tokens, and 400+ tickets from a game, it should show on our game card history/ticket amount. Your claw machines do not close around any of the larger stuffed animals, it doesn't close until after it's above it. We left empty handed after spendi

I am from out of state and me and my boyfriend found this place. We loved the different games they have inside. Super cool. However we went to the Kiosk for the 3rd time to reload our card and he put $20 in and it took the money without uploading the new balance. We went to tell one of the associates and Hillary was who helped us. She was an amazing employee was willing to help us and you could tell she seriously loves her job and wasn't just there for a paycheck. She used her own personal card to give us t

One of the best arcades I've ever been too and my kids loved it... Plenty of games to play at a decent price..

This place is terrible. The game cards cost too much for the little amount of points you get. The games are expensive and give you like one ticket if you win, the claw machines are rigged they loosen the claw so it drops the stuff, and half the games don't work but will still take your money. Go to Dave n busters or Chuck E. Cheese you will be better off

Great atmosphere for family gaming. Visited on a Thursday afternoon before school let out so place was empty. Unlike some other arcades, Tilt does not offer a package for all games play. For my seven year old that wants to play more of the advanced games, a card must be purchased containing points instead of buying a card with all you can play "time". A reasonable package should be offered that is inclusive of both types of game play. The set-up is interesting. Games with flashing "Green" card readers ar

Took my two grandsons they had an amazing time. So nice and clean. Games were great. They loved mini golf, laser tag plus others. The only thing I was concerned about was no were for me to set while kids in some of the games .

Game selection was extremely limited from what i had expected in an arcade of this size. The games that were there were in a terrible state. Dumped a ton of money into the first game we played then it suddenly stopped, the screen said unexpected error. The next game was a racing game. 3rd gear didnt work on the shifter. Then tried another shooting game, the ?pistols? aim was so far off you had to aim off the screen to hit anything. Then tried another game, one of the rifles was stuck aiming at the top of th

When we walked in we went to kiosk to buy cards for the kids and of course they wanted to get on the bumper cars first, so we went over. We let the kids in ourselves because there was no one near or around the area. The manager came over and said we weren't suppose to be on without an attendant present. This is our first time here so how are we suppose to know that. And the place was open so an attendant should have been standing near the area at all times or at least put up a please wait sign until an att

It's a fun place to take your kids. The employees are friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't like is the cost of some of the games. Otherwise, great fun is to be had.

Had a lot of fun here! Yes it does cost a pretty penny to play there but it's worth it. Everyone was super nice. The claw machine works great. I won two items out of it and came close to winning a big prize. I saw quite a few people walking around with bigs prizes they won too. Will visit again. All my kids left happy even the teenagers and that in itself is amazing!!!

Extremely unorganized. Spent a lot of money on a birthday party and I could not keep a party host. Everything took 3 times longer than it should have. This place will be closed sooner rather than later with its current customer service and organization.

Awesome! Plenty of games to play! Pricey but fair! All the employees are nice and respectful! Place is clean! This is a great and much needed place for the mall! My son loves the arcade! Plenty to do and have fun for you ??

The games are fun. And variety is good. But it's just simply WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. There should be a place to go like when I was younger where $25 in quarters would last 3 to 4 hours of nonstop playing. If only one person were to play games here nonstop for 3 or 4 hours like we use to back in the day. At Aladdin?s Castle for instance. I'm not exaggerating saying it would cost said person over $300 possibly even $500 or more. That's just GREED on the owner?s and on management?s parts. God forbid it's 2 or more

We took my daughter here with 6 of her friends for her 13th birthday. Her father and I loaded the cards with enough money to entertain the girls for at least two hours. It was around 1pm when we arrived. Although the signs stated that you must be accompanied by an adult after 7pm, her father stayed with n the arcade for the first hour. During the second hour, I sat on the bench in front of the arcade. It was disappointing to learn that after they spent the money we added on the cards and the additional mo

Definitely pricier than the other arcade, but But they have a lot more to offer. Maybe if they offered good food and a good price (pizza and wings) it would offset the higher prices. Kids had fun.

Too expensive. ALL of the machines had errors. Kept having to get staff to reset card or reset the machine. Ripped us off on points we didn't spend. Also the machines didn't dispense tickets or if the machine did it didn't calculate the right number. All around horrible rip off of an experience. Staff was no help and wouldn't offer a refund even though we spent 40bucks and only had TWO OF THE GAMES ACTUALLY WORK. DONT GO

Tried to email "Owner" Ha! No response after a month! No surprise... read my response and original review below. We visited Tilt Studio, the game center, which has 3d rides, fun games, fun events, and ticket prizes... typical fairly modern gaming place. But, watch out for the gimmicks.. We were not told the details.. and ended up buying credits to play the game that were lost/expired. No one informed us of the rules, and we lost $50 or more in value, since we didn't know that those credits would expire a

I had my daughters 8th birthday here this past Friday. The kids had a good time playing laser tag and the party room was nice. However they spelled her name wrong (Julianne) and even birthday wrong on her TV. Employees do not seem like they really want to be there, most are teenagers. They need better training when dealing with smaller kids and being more enthusiastic. I worked for CEC as a Teenager so maybe I'm just use to there ways of training and actions to make a Birthday special. The lack of caring to

The ?manager ? big mad about having to do her damn job. The guy was super sweet

Very fun, the whole family had fun. From playing video games, laser tag, and bumper cars!! Only thing watch out for the claw machines that have bug prices. Will eat 200 points in 4 tries

Way too expensive 20 to 32 points up to 8 dollars for 1 game and by the responses to some of the reviews I read sounds like the owners do not care they just want to fill their pockets with our hard earned money!! This places downfall is GREED!! Dont bring your kids here it is a RIP OFF!!!!!

I don't see this place lasting too many more years. I've never seen it full the way places like this usually are for good reason. Overpriced, too many old games and game malfunctions, unprofessional employees. Would not return.

A little on the expensive side and the big crane machine stopped working soon as the crane dropped and grab the big plush stuff animal. I was very disappointed that they didn't give my daughter the toy since it stopped mid play. Overall it was okay.

Always have a good time here. Any issues are always handled quickly and professionally.

Ridiculously expensive and terrible, unprofessional staff. Paid $10 just to get two sour warheads in tickets. Asked staff member to check my ticket amount and she wasted minutes of my time doing NOTHING until another person had to redeem it. Never coming back here again.

New to the area, took my grandson here for his first visit and had such a good time that we took some adult friends that had come to visit. Staff was friendly and helpful, only 2 downers for me was it is a tad expensive and I wish the bumper cars that weren't being used were off the "play" area to give you more space.

OMG I had more fun then the kids I believe ??... so mission accomplished for fun day! They have Lazer tag, mini golf, bumper cars, vr games, EVERYTHING!!! This place is legit ( in my son wodrs)??

I went there Monday with my 2 year old. Staff is not friendly, they seams not to care at you at all! There was another family there, and they asked for help to one of the workers, and he treated them with the same lack of empathy as he did with me. Maybe that place is so empty because they don't know how to treat the customers

Kids had a lot of fun. Even had my grandma n the bumper cars. Like everyone else stated, it's a bit pricey but a lot of fun for all.

It was OK. Probably wouldn't go back again, or at least not anytime soon. Some games didn't work and I didn't care for the workers atitude.

My family and I enjoyed this place very much. We didn't even have enough time to try everything, so we will definitely be back. They have a lot of games and activities to choose from.

Lots of fun for all ages. New Virtual Reality games too.

The kids love it here. Word of advice definitely were sneakers to keep up with the kids. Theres so much for them to do. Their always on the move there with a smile on their face. #Happykids#Relaxedmom

all of the video games are truly fun and i had a great experience with that but the employees are so rude and always seem to have a bad attitude?one experience i had with 2 of the employees, my friends and I went to redeem our rewards for a prize and the workers would look at each other and would roll their eyes and when we would ask them questions we would get little explanation and lots of mumbling!!

Awesome time alot a great games clean environment

Went here to play some games with my fiance, the games don't even work and had a big claw machine from our card and the only thing they did was just give us 1 credit to play the game after it took most and didn't even work. Might as well just go to myrtle beach and go to Dave and busters

A bit pricey, but fun. We enjoy playing for tickets and letting our daughter pick a prize when we're finished.

I had a great time when we went the staff is Super friendly and it is big and have some nice games the only is the points for some of the games are too high and you going to money on reloading your card its best to get enough one time because you will go through 100 points in less than 10 mins but other than that its a really nice place.

This place is a lot of fun. However, you can spend a lot of money very quickly.

i had a horrible experience i was playing the stacker game and won the major prize and a worker watched me win also and it didn't give me my prize which was 20,000 tickets by the way and they said all they can do is give me a bouncy ball and i will not be giving my money to a place like that again i would recommend any arcade besides this horrible place please save your money and go somewhere else!!!

Concidering Florence doesn't have a lot to do, this is a fun place to be. It's not to expensive and there is a lot to choose from. I will be going back and soon.

My fist visit with my family, bad experience, soon as walked in my kids budget gone in tree tap , no any instructions or advice, not recommend to anyone, please be aware of payment and charges on your card

Staff were rude, there's never anyone at the bumper cars, when pushing the help button, they tell you 30 more mins we're doing something, so while you're waiting the kids will naturally play all their points off and you'll have to reload, it's been an hour and still no help

A clean, well kept, and friendly environment to kill some time. Right off 95 which was great for our interstate travels!

Don't go to this arcade ?? I spent $20 on NOTHING! Prices are too high. I'll make the drive to the beach to go to an actual arcade. Don't be fooled by how big it is ??????? NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

My 15 year old said it was a rip off. At least we won't bother coming back. $30 spent on one hour of games.

I got date night passes they kept messing up and they were no help at all on fixing them.

Had fun and the price is not that bad just buy a card and use it for every machine

It was ok. The game card kept malfunctioning.

Helpful and friendly staff. Definitely worth the time and money.

Nice indoor arcade with friendly staff. Prices a little too high and some games didn't work.

Plenty variety of games..prices seem fair..staff approachable, very friendly and helpful.

A casino for kids.. it's huge. Games are a little on the pricy side, but I'd rather bring the kiddos here than Chuck e cheese, so there's that. ??

Wide variety of games and activities. Great pinball and talicket games. Claw machines with real Squishmallows!

Worst place ever and horrible service!!! Played many games and they wouldn't give me my tickets then the manager got in my face, yelled at me and wouldn't correct the mistake!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
