Tilt Studio Katy

Reviews Summary

The consensus is mixed but leans negative. Many reviews cite broken or malfunctioning games, poor customer service, and unfair pricing. Common complaints include claw machines not working, cards not combining points, and staff being unhelpful or rude. Some positive reviews highlight fun for young kids and fair pricing, but these are outweighed by frustrations over wasted money, lack of maintenance, and disappointing experiences. Overall, the venue struggles with reliability and customer satisfaction despite occasional bright spots.

Customer Reviews

I just hosted my daughters birthday party here, and the service was phenomenal. Kaitlyn, the GM, was great with keeping in communication and accommodating our needs. Brittney and another employee were helping us with hosting and had an amazing attitude the entire time. They were kind enough to help me set up and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. They also took care of cleaning out area and made sure they saved all of our unused goods. They were so hands on, and KIND! They made sure we enjoyed

Mini golf is well maintained but the rest of the place is a sham. Games are very greedy with tickets and don't even put out what the say. Coin pusher was labeled 5 tickets per coin drop, only gives 2 tickets. I told the staff and the just shrugged it off. Swipe stations don't work and take your money multiple times. This place is a money trap and the teens working there could really care less. Take my advice look for a chuck e cheese or a Dave and busters. Its seems like a good deal at first, I paid 30 dlls

Great staff. Fun environment. They have alot of options for things to do. It is a good time. Especially if you have children that want to have fun. Great family outing.

ARRIVED AT THE BUSINESS LOCATION TO HAVE FUN WITH MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE BUSINESS IT TOOK ME ABOUT 15MINUTES-20MINUTES TO FIND ONE EMPLOYEE. WHEN I FINALLY DID I NOTICED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS REALLY GOOD.. ITS VERY PRICEY HERE.

Went here during a trip in the mall. Was nice to see some type of arcade opened. We didn't really dive to deep in it, only played Jurassic Park, but it felt like a nice place.

Great place to go to keep the family busy & happy for hours!

Horrible horrible horrible for a first time experience looked like only two employees working. Paid for an attraction and was unable to play because ?there was no one to watch y?all? said the employee I will never come back

Great place for kids to enjoy especially if it's cold or raining outside. Putt putt golf area needed more clubs but it was fun. Games are expensive to play but still fun. Some of the games were not working. Could use more actual arcade games. Overall a fun place to spend time with the kids. Well, all ages enjoy it.

Spent nearly 300$ in here today, son played a basketball game that specifically displays and says ?play all 4 periods and win team ball?. He did, no ball. Ask the attendant and he states ?no ones has bothered us about that before? go to the manager on duty fixing a sonic game ?we just do tickets, too bad?. Won't patron again.

Nice place to take your kids, located in the center of Katy Mills mall next to five below and near dipping. Not expensive if you use the deals or coupons , many fun activities , video games, rides , fun for all ages , Birthday parties can be thrown there, many fun activities.

It was so Awesome everything to do there laser tag, bowling etc.. Loved it can't wait to go back!!!!

I concur with recent reviews. This place seemed like a fun spot to come with my kids. All the vr games were nonfunctional. Apart from tilt a whirl and one or two multilayer games, there's many claw and coin machines. My kiddos were highly disappointed in the selection and did not get to enjoy their first time here. While the manager was super friendly and understanding, this was not worth the trip. Spent $50 for 250 points; most "cool" games were 20 to 40 points. Spent half the time here looking for the ma

We've been here quite a few times; each time offering friendly family fun for my children and their friends. The highlight of the day is despite the staff being overwhelmed and fewer in numbers, they maintained their composure, professionalism, and helpfulness. I really admired how they smiled throughout the chaos. However, the place is on a constant slope of decline. The facility is rundown and in need of some remodeling and upgrades i.e. the floors and many games. During the weekend of spring break, many

Super fun arcade! I've been to many tilt studios, and this one has some of the best maintenance and pricing I've seen! Many of the games are $1-2 per play, however they are set very difficult. This is an arcade you should visit to play for fun and try out new games, not to make a profit. The prize area is also very expensive compared to how many tickets you can win, but that is something I have noticed to be universal at Tilt across the country. Not too bad, fun place for the family! Wish they stayed open l

Me & my daughter love tilt. Not just the games, our favorite is the tilt a twirl ride. She has a birthday in 2 weeks and we're going!

It's fun, but none of the claw machines work. They'll take your money, but even if you have perfect aim, the claw is so loose that it won't pick anything up.

I've been a few times in the past, most recently this past Saturday. Hoping they would improve over the last visit was a mistake. It seems to get worse and worse. Half of the machines do not work, or they just take your points. I've read replies, from the owner, to some reviews with this same issue, and they tell you to contact an employee well that is hard to do when there is only one and he doesn't seem to know what he is doing! Bought 2 $50 cards, and lost probably two thirds of the points on both of the

I am hugely disappointed in the selection of arcade machines. It is mostly just claw machines and ticket scams. None of the actually fun arcade machines. There are a couple fun arcade games (like driving sims, basketball, air hockey, shooters, etc.), but they are far and a way out number by the sheer volume of claw machine and ticket scams.

Excellent location. Great options to play for at least 3 hrs.

Grandchildren enjoyed themselves as well as my Big kiddie Son's on that Ice hockey table

Don't waste your money. It's very expensive comparing to other similar places. We bought 300 point but many games are 20-30+ points. We ran out of points very quickly and didn't play many games. Many of the games were gambling not what you want for younger kids.

Do not waste your time and money coming to this place!!!*** Most of the games are broken or not functioning properly. It is also filthy. The manager is extremely rude and not customer service oriented at all. He interrogated me when I told him what was happening. He made me name each game that was not working and compared it to the ticket from my card. I am fine with needing the receipts, but the way he did it was aggressive and scary in front of my 6 year old. It was very uncomfortable and I almost called

Everything is either not working or broke. Lazer tag sensors in the guns are so bad that the kids ran around for 10 minutes and the guns didn't work. Bowling pins got tangled and it took 22 minutes before someone showed up. It's bad when us grow ups were not satisfied but when the kids noticed how bad it was...a complete and utterly disappointment. This place is junk. Don't waste your time or money.

It's great to see arcades still existing other than Round 1 or Dave & Busters. This place has some unique video games and even indoor mini golf. I wish I had more time to check it out but I will in a later date and high recommend that if you're in the Katy mall to take your kids there to share some of the magic that you experienced growing up with arcades.

Sunch great customer service. Brittany took care of my daughters unexpected Bday party of 12, answered all my questions, showed me the games etc.Great place for kids

I don't know what all the bad reviews are for? My 5 year old son had a blast, won a huge baby yoda from the claw machine, multiple toys and played all kinds of games. Employees were nice also. Great spot.

Not a nice place, we brought the little ones to kill some time in the mall, some of the machines were looking like they had better days and others were just flat out broken. There were only two employees working while we were there so when one of the machines got stuck we had to wait a long time for one of them to get to us and that happened a few times. My seven year old nephew came out of there complaining that all these machines were rigged. There are better ways to throw money away.

We spent 30 dollars at the kiosk for it to give us multiple cards with 16 credits each. Most of the games and the ride cost more than 16 points?and you cannot swipe multiple cards to use for one game/ride. I asked the ticket counter if I could combine my points to one card and the answer was ?no? sooo all of the points and money we spent was a waste. How is this ok? Why can't your staff combine points to one card OR use multiple cards to at least use all of your points?

We were having fun? until ride operator looked at my son and loudly said, ?dude what's wrong with him?? I said, excuse me? He said,? what's wrong with him, dude looks like he don't have no back!? I told him young man? you are rude, that's not how you speak to people. Yes, my son does have some disabilities, he is fully capable of riding this ride! You need to learn how to speak to people, that was rude. His response was? that he had a heart condition and a few other disabilities. I told him, I'm sorry that

Over half the games didn't work or took our credits. I feel sorry for the employees who have to deal with unsatisfied customers.

Half the games don't work, not a lot of selection. They do have 1 nice ride for kids but that's about it. Needs upkeep and maintaining. The basketball games were all broken and not working, same with the typhoon roller coaster ride.

My family was very disappointed with this place. It looks like a lot of fun until you realize that many of the games don't work after inserting credit, some of the claw machine claws were totally broken or won't close at all and many of the games cost a good amount of points. My son enjoyed the mini golf so at least it wasn't a total waste. This place has a lot of potential so hopefully it gets better.

I visited this place on today with my kids for the first time. Half the games were broken and the young lady that's running the register act as if she hate her job or anyone who asks questions! She walked off to get who I assume is the manager he never looked me in my face or acknowledge me he took the card did something to the computer and that was it! 10 dollars for a game that doesn't work! We will NOT BE BACK! I'll rather go to Chuck E. Cheese at least the customer service is reasonable and it's a host

Was definitely more interesting than I thought it would be. I like that they have the tiny bowling for smaller kids. Interesting to think how they fit that, tons of arcade games, mini putt putt, and laser tag all in a small space. I felt like it got to a point where we spent so much money to get some really small things- not as rewarding as Main Event feels. Some of the games (a few stackers, both dance dance revolution games, etc) were out of order. Cracked tv inside visable, no out of order signs on anyth

Nice place in the Katy mall. If you are going there only for Tilt, then drive to gate 8.

Staff was friendly but that was the only good part. Some critical issues need fixing: - Some games are overpriced for what the experiences are - Some games barely function, have broken card readers, have broken parts, or are just left turned off - Needs a little cleaning - Most of all I think the experience of just playing there is outright terrible. Would rather take my buisness elsewhere.

This place has good games and great service but would not do another birthday party here ever. They constantly tell you to move out the tables before your time is over and they start cleaning up a hour before your time finishes my party was from 4 to 6 by 530 we was out the tables did not appreciate that and was uncomfortable. That's why I have it a 3 star other than parties is a good place for kids to have fun.

Lots of games that toddler age kids could play and mid afternoon was perfect time of the day to check them out. ONLY issue a few games said the kids accumulated certain amount of tickets & yet none printed. All in all they still enjoyed themselves immensely!

Super fun. Son and I had a blast. A few machines we would have liked to try were broken, but otherwise it was a fun experience. They definitely need to hire more employees, as the poor workers were run ragged.

This place used to be full of children. A Sunday morning and no children. Not all games were working. The dual driving racing Ferrari only had 1 side working. The stand-up play shooting gun game had only one play gun working. The tilt of world had one seat that didn't work. Management should mark the non working games.

My first time here in about 7 years, and I can say it is a genuine money pit. No one won anything off the stupid claw prize games. I watched several people play, no one won. Not one. Games are obscenely overpriced. Like $2-5 per game?.. did I mention I'm pretty sure their AC doesn't work? Never again. This place is disgusting, musty, dusty, unsanitary and a total rip off.

At first, this was a fun place to take the family initially....then the issues started occurring. - Nearly half the game machines do not work. - Limited staff available for support during primetime hours. - Some game machines we thought operational ended up eating our credits....and staff does not have the capabilities to reimburse. In the end, Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 because my kids still had fun besides all the annoyances. Bottom line, they need to maintain the machines regularly and have more st

First off the games are a bit expensive which I didn't mind but the employees were rude and have attitude. Most of the games don't work and take your money still instead of refunding me the game played the employee told me to go get her every time I needed a new game for my son. I don't want to keep walking to the kitchen for this when I can just have the points put back it's more simple that way. Restroom was dirty on top of that

What the hell has happened to this place. Way overpriced, half of the machines took money off of your tilt card and didn't work, I remember this place used to be awesome. I definitely don't recommend going here.

A number of the more premium arcade games like the VR systems and racing games are broken. No fighting video games I could see. Way too many chance and claw based hand, they're everywhere! The mini golf was all right witth a moderate level of challenge. Laser tag was all right. There's kiddie bowling with four lanes fit for elementary aged kids. All in all a very mediocre experience compared to the arcades of yore.

Overall my kids and their friends had a really great time over the weekend. Surprisingly good amount of games and stuff to do inside, which includes a mini-golf, tilt-a- whirl, mini-bowling, and Lazer tag room... In addition to the arcade. Very easy to rack up tickets for prizes. They also have a small food & snack spot where you can order some items & sit. Staff and the Manager were nice and always keeping busy with helping customers everywhere I looked. If I do have to point to an area of improvement, it'

Busy place to be and the staff isn't very helpful. I went up to the middle counter to reload my card (because the kiosk machines were out of order) and there were several staff members in the middle of a conversation, and continued to have the conversation while serving my family. This makes me wonder where the supervisors are or if the supervisors are relaxed and allow this to happen. Employee behavior definitely reflects management. On the bright side, the games are fun. The points you earn are loaded on

Just left here a few minutes ago. To be fair the people who work here are nice. However, barely any of the games work. Tickets didn't come out of machines when we won, the 4 player air hockey table took out points but didn't give us a puck to play with and several of the claws on the claw machines either didn't open when you played or were stuck open. Don't waste your time or money.

I like the fact that this is in the mall but the people working there don't seem to care and they are uneducated on how to do anything. They need more training and need to definitely be more friendly and attentive to the people that are spending money in there. We Centaur kids in to do the paintball and although they said it was very fun they also said it was extremely hot in there and the teenager running that particular area stood there with his hands crossed, leaned up against the wall, did not speak to

Quite a few broken machines but the ticket counter was fast and polite. My daughter is very soft spoken and even with all of the noise the employees where quite attentive. Wish more of the machines worked but overall a good time and we will return for sure. Thank you it made my little ones day.

It was very hot inside.. the games that were supposed to give out "big tickets" for some of the larger prizes were OUT of tickets and not shown to be out of service. When the staff was told about this, there was no reparations made, just told, " Its been a busy day, we probably couldn't get to refill them." So we were out many "Big Tickets".. not happy with that.. they didnt even care. This place needs better Management or Staff..

This place USED to be a good place . Everything USED to work.. Now you will waste your money literally attempting to play 2 or more games. . We brought our granddaughter here and she was extremely sad due to every single game she played was not working or not working properly.. we will not return with our grandchildren here.. Owner and management should consider fixing and updating this facility.. we dont blame the staff.. Its the owner and management's responsibility to make sure their business is runni

Rides, gaming, hoops, climbing, and more. This place charges by points which you purchase at a machine kiosk. Check out what you're interested in to see how many points you're going to need because you can spend them quite easily here. The best feature we got excited about was that they have a gaming booth for Luigi's Mansion! Absolutely love that one! Great for fans!

This place only gets 1 star based off my past experience that was ok. I booked a party recently and was calling to clairfy about the food order. The GM, Blanca, was extremely rude! She behaved as though I was a bother for even asking questions. She didn't even try to apologize or correct her behavior. Excuse me! If I'm paying $500 plus, I want to make sure I understand all parts of the package. I was not going to risk this type of treatment on the day of my child's party. We cancelled and found another venu

Not impressed! First off, check your cards when you load. We purchased two cards for 50 points each and before we left the kiosk, we checked them just to make sure. They only had 36 points each. We let the manager know and he loaded up the difference plus two points. About half the games we tried did not work. After letting the manager know about two games, we gave up letting them know.

Our first time here, we arrived at 6p to take our son to play. We knew it would only be an hour of play since the website said they closed at 7p but planned for him to enjoy that hour. Only got to play 2 games before being told they were closed at 6:30p. At that moment the card swipe readers literally disables so you can't play any of the games leaving your options to quickly claim your tickets (which we didn't have at the time) or leave. Very disappointed our time was cut short. Their times need to be upd

Fun arcade, could use a few less claw machines, a few more old school style arcade games, but having a tilt-a-whirl inside is pretty cool! We were able to win a little toy for our toddler, she was thrilled!

This place is incredible, there's so many games to play and they are really cheap. Plus, the customer service is really nice. It's a great place for you to play games. And really good for kids

My daughter had a great time interacting with the various games and the employees were attentive to our and her questions. She is 2 but can articulate well for her age and though she can be shy they had patience as she warmed up a little to give them her tickets. She was even given a prize that was a little out of her ticket range(by 2) but very excited with her mid size minion plushie.

My twins boys just had their 8th birthday party in here, they had a blast! this is the best place if you are a busy mom/dad, you don have to take care of anything! they will do it all for you: balloons, table cloths, cups, plates, cupcake tower...they will even set up a table for the parents...kids loved the mini golf and laser tag....they even have an activity while the wait for all the guests to arrive ( coloring and sign a birthday t shirt for the birthday boys , so nice that my boys decide to wear it du

Chose this place to host a Birthday party. The arcade machines weren't working.. Kids were disappointed... Only 1 pizza was served and when asked for more we were told "we ran out of dough". Someone got pizza from another place and managed the show.... However one good thing is that the girl managing kids in arcade was very patient.

Best place to have a birthday party. They take care of everything. Very helpful party host. It comes with so much! So many activites to choose from. Pizza was great. Great for all ages. I probably had more fun than all the kids. ??

Good variety of games and rides, but everything is so expensive. The game mechanics are a scam. $6 for a claw machine, we got a baby Yoda, but the claw SLAMS when it pulls up and knocks your stuffed toy out of the super limp claws. Never again.

This place is ok for passing time. Maybe 30 minutes and $20 in credit is enough. They hire teenagers as workers so you can see they rather be somewhere else than be there pressing a button so your ride will start.

I'm not convinced with the quality of the machines and the service overall... I spent 20 dollars the first time for just a couple of cheap games, the another 20 on like 12 games of higher quality... the staff is very friendly though... I'll give them that

Fun place! We love taking our daughter here. But there prize choice could be better and the amounts for each prize could be less. We always end up saving our tickets until the text time because she never has enough. We have 4000 tickets and she was only going to be able to get one prize....??

The games malfunction often! Also when trying to pay to play the games the games took points off your card and the game wouldn't start!!! Bad customer service! The up keep is low grade! Mane there's not enough room on this page for me to put my facts down!!! Go to main event!!! Spend your money there! A much more manicured place! Staff are more professional!!

I went to this tilt three or two weeks ago. Some of the games doesn't work or their scam, and some are kinda good and you can win tickets with but you won't try to win tickets cuz the prizes are are not that existing... And oh the customer service is realy bad you fell like someone force them to work there and I think they need a good manager or smt cuz there's mostly one guy who's doing their work and others are in their phone and just relaxing, overall not a bad place but they need to improve their service

The worst ! the guys are not helpful and very rude! My son have 2 cards and one of them question him why he had 2 cards When he wants to redeem his price!! We were 2 persons my son and I trying to have fun but was an awful experience! Go somewhere else avoid this place.

Had lots of fun with the family! #wishthere were more to do. Love making video booth video

Bad experience. The personal didnt help me when I asked for some games that didnt work. Nobody helps. They only said "I dont know". Into the place was 5 Boys and girl playing around and one of them kick my daughert with a ball. JUST A BAD BAD DAY IN THAT PLACE

TiltStudio has the worst customer service ever. If you care to receive good customer service for your money please do yourself a favor and DO NOT go there. Their staff DO NOT have customer service training whatsoever and they are the rudest people I ever met. Their games card system SUCKS. I paid for the cards and I was unable to use the card and the teenager boy who was working at the time didn't know how to help me, he didn't know how to explain why the machine wasn't working. He walked away while I was c

Brought my nieces here to play for a while. A lot of the machines were broken or malfunctioning in some way and the poor employee had to keep assisting us. It's entertaining for small children for an hour or so.

Had a great time at a birthday party the Hostess was wonderful. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the food was not so great. I will definitely be returning be with my grandchildren soon.

Most of these games are much older and don't work properly. The light gun games don't shoot right and many have broken controllers. There aren't enough balls in th ski ball machine. The only games that worked were the basketball free throw and a couple of claw games.

Half the machines didnt work but would let you scan your card or take off points then say there was a card read error. Not a lot for such a big place either and I've been to quite a few Tilts throughout the country that have been much smaller.

For an arcade it's really disappointing too many of the machines where broken especially the children's stuff. They had some new things in there that worked fine but it's like they do no maintenance they just run the machines into the ground.

Don't play those claw machines!!! There all scams. Many of the claws do not open on time and if you do grab something it'll release it at the top. Reported this to the manager and he was rude and no real explanation. $100 down the trash playing here.

Very good place to take your kids. Are able to get a good amount of tickets when you play games. Overall good place for kids to enjoy themselves.Better than Chuck e cheese.

EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS! While shopping at Katy Mills Mall one afternoon, our daughter said she would like to have her birthday party at Tilt Studio, so my husband and I took a quick tour to make sure the games and attractions were age appropriate and they were. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and organization of the facility. During this visit, we also had an opportunity to meet a few of the employees. They were very courteous and answered all of our questions. The next day, we made the

I have been here three times I have taken my children here for their birthdays they also have a golf a laser tag and games is not a lot of games but it's enough for kids and the pricing is pretty fair it's easy to get to if you going do the entry of the mall just ask them what number entry they are mall there is an entry door make it very convenient

Lots of machines to play on... However those claw machines do not close when coming up. The way it goes around is the same way it comes back up. They just taking ur money we tried several and same issue

I never have fun in my entire life I was feel like little kid this place has all the arcades I pay 20$ to play and I got exhausted but excited at same time and you reloaded the card on what you pay for it fun place for everyone all ages they got laser tag to I wish to be a kid again so fun I recommend totally for the family

Maybe 3 things for a 3 y/o toddler. Get ready to lay down some $$$$$. The place was empty and al the parents were at the free play area. I paid $10.00, she got to do 4 things.. Have little ones and the noise and flashing lights catch. Pull them away

Me and my girlfriend decided to play a game where you when actual physical tickets. Had to win two to receive a special prize. We went to turn in the two tickets only to be told they did not give out the actual prizes advertised in the machine. Instead we were offered prizes a girl would not like. We would not of continued playing the game with the goal of getting the prize. Very shady. We left without getting any prizes.

Half the games are bad and I swooped over 40 points total for nothing. Did get points for other games tho but one that didn't work was a group one and neither none were label "out of order" when I told a guy he said, "oh yea, that one doesn't have the puck" for air hockey

Cash machines broken most places. Staff look bored. Games seem to work but colors bad and they reboot often. Selection good. Kids seem to have fun.

Great place to take my kids. A couple of the games were not working but staff refunded me. It was busy so had to wait a bit for the refunds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?
