Hi there. My family and I went to Thunderzone to enjoy family time on a wonderful Sunday. This place was recommended because of the atmosphere. The prices were great; however, my family and I were disappointed in the level of service we received. The lanes were malfunctioning more than normal and the staff seemed annoyed at our requests to fix the issue. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would like to come back. I hope these issues can be resolved. Thank you and have a great day.
The kids had a blast and it was affordable to bowl... the food was to expensive 7.00 for a small dipping dot
Nice place for kids and tweens. Bowling, arcade games and laser tag. Nice place for a kids party. The arcade was a bit small and a few of the games were not working but overall my 8 year old had a good time. We went on a Saturday afternoon at around 6 PM. It wasn't too busy. Definitely recommend.
Perfect little place to go for a nice family night.. however come after you've ate or leaving going to lunch or dinner bc the food here is priced ridiculously high. $19 for a pep pizza? That's crazy!
Great place! $2 games during the week and not crowded. Very clean. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Definitely 10 out of 10. I will be going back
I came in with two buddies and paid for three games after the first game. The screen stopped and I went up to the counter and asked for the manager and they denied that I paid for three games which I had a receipt in person. Don't waist your time coming to this place over priced
I attended a birthday party Saturday, January 18 2025 and had a great time. My only issue was at the bar. I ordered two items and didn't realize until the next day that the young lady never gave me my debit card back or a receipt. I called and spoke with the manager name Trey and he confirmed it was there. I was beyond pissed because I had to drive 1 hr and 22 minutes back out there and did not receive anything for being inconvenienced(not a soda or even an apology). This is Definitely a great example of po
Lots of fun, great for a date or getting out with family.
Thank you!!!!for best birthday party for my son. Everyone enjoyed ????????and I feel relax and secure with party assistance.
Very nice setup. VIP bowling section and regular sections is comfortable. The wingz where good & the pizza. It was busy on a Friday night but we didn't have a wait time for our lanes. Nice staff too.
Such a fun place for kids and adults to remember what its like to be young again. The set up was amazing the bowling, laser tag, and games so much fun!!
I recently hosted my daughter?s birthday party at ThunderZone and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The bowling lanes were a complete disaster. Seven balls got stuck at one time, the pins wouldn't reset, and the arm on lane 28 kept getting stuck. Lane 27 was only slightly better, but the birthday girl had to sit on the side watching her friends play. Despite repeatedly asking for help from my party planner, who did her best with no support from management, the issues persisted. We tried to bowl
We had my daughter's BiRtHdAy Pretty there today (8-6-22) and we all had so much fun! The guy that helped us get anything we needed for the party was amazing and very helpful, thank you D! Oh, and they turned the music off on our side because several of the teenagers has a sensory processing disorder and the loud music bothers them.
My partner and I are regulars here, and it's our absolute favorite spot to unwind. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a burst of energy and vibrant colors that set the stage for a fantastic time. With arcade games, pool tables, and bowling, there's never a dull moment. And let's not forget the bar ? fully stocked with all your favorite drinks and serving up delicious bar food, with TV entertainment from sports to movies! But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Junior and
Went and bowled with my fianc? for Valentine?s Day. They have unlimited bowling on Friday?s from 5pm-12am and we were there about 6:30pm to about 9pmish. My fiance went up twice to ask for another hour which they gave us and then the 3rd time asking the employee said he would put another hour on and then we never were given the hour. So I went up wondering what was going on and that when another employee came up saying they had a wait list and that's we would have to be put on a wait list and wait for anoth
Thunderzone is a hidden gem in Douglasville. I would have given 5 stars...but it tends to be really cold in the alley at times...and the fans blowing down on you doesn't help. Usually when it's cold, we go to another local alley because we tend to have elderly individuals that can't handle the cold. The food is also great...but pricey. 10 wings and fries $23 is a bit high.
Fun place, but it's a shame that adults aren't allowed to use bumpers anymore. Really takes the fun out of it when you just keep getting gutter balls.
Pretty fun overall. The cashier could work on the communication style a little more.
Customer service was very good. Food was good. I had fun will definitely visit again in the future.
Great special in the middle of the week A family friendly place for everyone to enjoy
Such a fun place to host a birthday party. In our case, my daughters and I were there to help celebrate the 1 year anniversary of a successful bone marrow transplant for our dear friend Nia Colton!!! Outside of the absolute blast we with all of the party festivities, a sweet family heard about Nia's story and came in and brought her a gift ??? It's over an hour from me so this is not a place I would have ran into but I'm so glad we were about to experience The Thunderzone. I took away a star because their t
We popped in to play some games. Prices were good and a lot of fun was had by all of us.
I'm leaving a 2 star only because of the Manager Trey who tried to fix the situation and was very helpful throughout my experience. I went to the establishment for a birthday party, while attending I went to the bar and ordered a alcoholic drink (I WAS NOT ID), the given was the incorrectly ordered and made from what I wanted. When I received sip and immediately knew it was not correct, so I went to who I knew was the manager that was helping with the party. I explained the situation and he took the drink
Took the family and grandchildren it was eight of us for a great night of bowling we occupied two lanes had a great time it was clean reasonably priced and I think a great place for family fun
Thunderzone is by far the best bowling alley around. Monday-Thursday have $2 or $3 bowling and it is rarely busy on those days. The lanes are always well kept and the hospitality in there makes you feel like you are at home. I drive close to an hour out the way because of how good of a bowling alley this is multiple days out of the week. The bartender, Jackie, always helps me with a smile and knows exactly what i want before i sit down. The manager, JB, will assist with any questions and will even put a gam
Everything was clean and in order...our server was super nice and we had fun with the whole family ...there are 2 side for bowling (1 normal 1 cosmic) it only cost 1$ extra to do cosmic.... they have really good specials all over the building as well
Took the kids out for an evening of fun and they had a ball, we went bowling and played in the arcade. The food and drinks were great but there are many games that need to be fixed in the arcade, constantly eating credit
Fun night with friends. Drinks are reasonably priced and unlimited bowling is a great deal for the price.
We had a wonderful time here. Allen was our server and he was WONDERFUL. I loved the way he helped us get our order together. He was so patient with us and answers every question we had. He provided us our drinks in a timely manner and our food came out within a decent time and our order was accurate. He came back a good amount of times to check up on us and make sure we were good on everything. He also made sure our food was up to par for our liking. So glad we came on today and got the chance to have him
Good service, welcoming at the front counter and the bar. Just left with my wife and two boys. Had a bad experience at southern lanes and decided to try this place out. I am not sure how this place has lower reviews than southern lanes.
Kid-friendly a great day for a family bowling night I was able to take my grandchildren as young as 2 years old and friends up to 65 and everybody had an awesome time bowling fees are reasonable
It sucks first time visiting and the lane shuts off after bowling 2 frames. I spoke to the mgr and they informed me all they could do is keep resetting it. I asked for a refund and was denied a refund. The lane continued to shut off during our bowling hour, making this one of our worst bowling experiences to date. Saturday 12/14/24 lane 16 at 730pm
Happy and attentive staff. Good variety of games. We found the bowling lanes to be in need of maintenance. Overall fun family experience.
We came here for a family Christmas get together and we had a blast. We got to the lane quickly and we really enjoyed ourselves. We had time to reconnect and bowl a few frames. We ordered from the restaurant and the food was really good. I look forward to going again.
I would give 10 stars if I could. Me and my partner had the best time, the games are affordable, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, not to mention the drinks were fantastic! We even had a little trouble with our card closing out the tab for drinks and the manager was so understanding and helpful, we will be regulars from now on, I HIGHLY recommend coming here!!????
This place is perfect for a low key date night. I would suggest paying extra for the VIP bowling because it's less crowded and the couch seating is more intimate for a date than the regular tables. Also, they're open till 2 am and have a full bar so you can enjoy adult time without screaming kids. Also, it's not outrageously priced.
It was really fun. Bowling is pretty expensive, but it was fun. The laser tag was fun. And reasonable.
Hard decision on actual rating. Went with the 3 star on the arcade since 2 1/2 wasn't an option. They don't make all the cards available in the Willy Wonka coin pusher area. Grandson has been needing a Oompa Loompa card for almost 4 months to complete this set to get the bonus tickets but has never even seen one in all this time with minimum weekly visits. Should load at least a few sometime!! Seriously, give the kids a chance!! The ones with Marvel are good, will give credit for those machines giving opp
The bowling alley is located in a secluded area. When you arrive, there are many places to park. There is an outdoor area for people to dine or connect. Then when you walk in, there is a pool and bar area. This facility has an arcade area and two sets of bowling lanes. The chicken wings were average at best.
Upon arrival 2 employees not acknowledging customers and continuing their conversation. Had to interrupt them to get service. Food service took forever. Lied and stated the kitchen closed before it was really closed at 9:30. Then serviced other people with food and then said oh yea I did tell her that. Servers not on the same page and not truthful. Lanes were sticking and jamming. My mom tried several times to get a bottle of water and couldn't serviced.
Danny is the best. She took very good care of our group.
Friendly staff. Very clean. Great special pricing.
Had a great family night with Lazer tag and bowling. The OLGs against the teens. Glad we chose a weekday instead of the weekend because it wasn't crowded at all. The prices are a little steep but maybe that just me not getting out for a while. Glad I went.
My wife and I came for date night. We enjoyed the food, bowling and the arcade games but one of your bartenders was very rude to my wife, ignoring anything she said and blatantly flirting with me and it made my wife very upset. My wife said her name was either Janie or Jayme, not sure but her rudeness and flirting needs to be addressed, she's too old and unattractive to be acting that way. Also, not sure if you allow employees to drink on the job, but her breath smelled like alcohol. Definitely has changed
If I could have given 0 stars I WOULD!! I have NEVER been treated so horribly at an establishment! We visit Thunderzone weekly as we're trying to start a bowling league. On this particular Friday night we spent 2 hundred dollars between games, drinks and food. I ordered a 10 piece mild wings with fries. When I received the order the fries and wings were old, hard and salty! I went to the counter and asked if they could remake the order because the food wasn't fresh! The manger then came to our lane and inf
Bowling was great. Seemed like about half the arcade games were either marked out of order or were not marked, still in disrepair, and didn't work after they took credits off the card.
Very kid friendly attractions! Fun for the family and the place is booming with people! Food is very delicious. Staff are hard workers and check on you every minute. Went with the fam last night and had lots of fun!
Great place. Enjoyed it. Went on a Monday around 2:00 and we practically had the place to ourselves. Social distancing is encouraged. I feel they do a good job.
I love bowling there. It's a nice and chill place to unwind.
Had a blast with the kiddos here. It's hard to find a place we all enjoy together anymore so definitely enjoyed our time here. It was crowded even for a sat night but service all around was still awesome.
I love this place! Bowling lazor tag arcade game bar and some really really good food
Great place for fun with the family. We just do the arcade but it was clean and had decent variety of games..next time plan to try out the bar, food and bowling..but looks like a nice establishment for sure
Always a great time when we visit
Family friendly, nice and clean with great food and drinks.
We came out tonight to celebrate my friend husband birthday. We have had an amazing experience. The staff was amazing and the manager was SUPER COOL!!! She recommended good drink and food choices. The amount for the bowling was decent and not overly pricey. But the reason that they get 3 stars from me and not 5 is because whoever owns this place does not appeal at all to the black customers that they have in this facility. I asked the manager about the music and if it could be changed and she politely expla
My daughter had an incredibly disappointing birthday at Thunderzone on Saturday May 18th. We purchased a very expensive lane on the neon lit side of the alley. $73 for 5 bowlers with shoes for one hour. When we arrived to our lane the party on the other lane was sitting on our side. It was a hassle to get to the side of seating area we paid for. Once we began bowling we noticed that the bumpers were not lowering and rising correctly. I had to go up to the desk at least 4 times and have the service person c
Nice bowling experience, clean, family friendly. We ordered pizza, wings, fries, and a pitcher of coke. It was great, especially the fries! Only downside is they didn't offer a refund only a credit for the 2nd game we paid for but didn't play.
We were from NC visiting our daughter & granddaughter in Austell. We decide to go bowling so we went to Thunderzone bowling in Douglasville. What a huge disappointment. We spent nearly $300.00 to bowl & ordered food & drinks from their bar & grill. We had to change lanes 3 different times because their lane was not totaling the score correctly. The burgers were terrible & fries medium warm. The waiter that took our order was nice. My husband told the staff on 2 different occasions that there were malfunc
Very unprofessional!! This is not a dig at the young guys working the counter, but the manager was very rude for a mistake made on their end. We were accused of not paying for games & shoes. Our receipts reflected otherwise & once the issue was ?resolved? the manager just walked away. She didn't apologize, she didn't even tell us it was fixed, she just walked off. Her tone & demeanor was very aggressive. I couldn't believe she was a manager. My daughter enjoyed her time, however we will never come back. I l
Had a nice time. Went on a Friday night about 6:00 and barely anyone there. Of course, most people didn't start showing up until around 9:00 for cosmic bowling. Ordered food and it was very tasty. They had a great price on happy hour selections. Overall a great time!!
Just left Thunderzone . We have been there several times before and I hate to say this but the food was awful . We ordered pizza, honey barbecue wings and fries. Who messes up wings? It was so salty we could not eat it. The pizza also tasted bad compared to previous times visited. After waiting on a manager who took his time to come over. He offered chicken strips that were also salt. Maybe this was a one time mishap but we have watched this place slowly decline over the years. We will not be back.
Great place to have fun. Its a bit pricy but to be expected. Staff have been great every time we went.
On a Saturday night, which is probably usually busy like this Saturday night was, they only had a limited food menu. Out of all the things on the menu, pretty much only pizza, wings, and fries were available. It was only 6:30pm, so it wasn't late at all. The wings had a good flavor, but were kind of undercooked. The fries and pizza were good though. The bartender was awesome! I recommend the Grateful Dead drink.
Pretty cool place, definitely a bit too expensive on the weekends, for a bowling alley. Southern Lanes prices are better, and the lanes are generally better and freshly oiled most of the time, which is preferred for anyone who actually likes bowling. However, this place is fantastic for children considering the arcade is big and they have good food. Decided to go on a Thursday, and the lanes were so dry that I could barely bowl over 115. When I bowl here on fresh lanes, I typically score nothing less than 2
This was our first time. We did a couples date. We did bowling and pool. The bowling experience was the worse the game kept freezing and going on to the next person with one of us finish doing our round. We have tried to reset it several times and it wouldn't work we had to stop to reset then when it didn't we went and got someone then they reset but goes to the next person. It did it several times and then they moved us to lane 2 which did it too. We was very frustrated and it ruined our game. We paid for
Nice place, employees are friendly also
i brought my son here for his 6th birthday yesterday the hours on the website and google say they close at 11 but they closed at 10 with no notice from any employee. all lanes shut off lights turned off with us still in the building at 10pm. when i asked why they closed early with no explanation the employee said i don't know we just are. when i purchased multiple games that should have been explained and not ripping the customer off. a simple "mam only purchase one game because we are closing early today.
Great environment for all ages. Major Emphasis on "Family Entertainment Center" True to their name. The family & I enjoyed it thoroughly. 10 stars out of 5
Amazing place for bowling with a nice warm slice of pizza and iccee.
I wish I could leave no stars. Very unprofessional and could've been conducted business wise in a better way. We drove 30 minutes for a friend's birthday gathering and they were turning people away because there wasn't enough patrons to stay open. Do better. No management was present outside to offer anything to those arriving, just a security guard outside telling the many cars that drove up that they were closed.
The games were great. Food was very disappointing or party of six ordered two pizzas wings cheese sticks and fries and apparently the order was forgotten because we had to go to the counter to talk about where it was after 20 minutes. They brought one pizza out about 5 minutes after that, the drinks and the poppers. 5 minutes later the second pizza and then a few minutes later the french fries and cheese sticks. Cheese sticks were overcooked as was the pizza that came out second. Disappointed is the only wo
Always a great place to go bowling with friends and family. Every has a great time. The staff are amazing people always so nice to everyone and they try to serve as quickly as possible. They also have a game room and pool tables. The bar is almost as big as a regular bar with enough seating and the pool tables are in the bar.
This place is boring and mediocre. Food is horrible. Way to over priced. I saw the prices and went right to Dave and busters. They have better games and good hands down. If you support this business you've lost your mind.
The arcade was smaller than expected. It is managed by a wonderful staff. It really glows in the dark, cool. The virtual pods were a blast.
Make sure if you are going for a special you ask for the special because they won't give it to you if you happen to use the wrong verbiage. Paid for an hour ($30.84) then got the special afterwards so another $15. The actual employee was nice about it and mentioned that the board said after 5 for the special but then I let him know their was a discrepancy with the website since it mentioned the special was from open to close. There was a woman who just jumped in our conversation and who I assumed was just a
Our experience there was great. We bowled a couple of games, got some food and had a good time. Any staff I interacted with was nice. My lemonade slushie didn't really taste like lemonade but... hey.
It was a pretty cool, fun place, but overly expensive. Arcade games are too costly for them to be inoperable and still taking money when the card is swiped. It was difficult to get assistance in fixing some of the games and refunds back on cards for those that didn't work. Customer service needs some work as they weren't as friendly or helpful.
Went out for a fun evening. But was met with overpriced games and kids in the bar playing around while we tried to play pool! The majority of the games in the arcade were $2. It's a lot when 2 people are sharing 1 card. We still had a good time until we went to play pool in the bar area and this family was in the bar with their kids. This was a shocker for me because it's the bar area, that allows kids in there. It's not a safe idea for me! You have adults in there drinks and trying to let there hair down.
Definitely a great night out doing something different! On original entry the one bartender staff was rude, but then we had someone else take our order and that person was 100%. Even with him having a rough night with being understaffed he still kept a smile on his face and still was cheerful. The only complaint I have is that lane 13 pins, kept knocking pins off that were not hit during the pin set. So it made the score untrue. But definitely a great night, great environment, and awesome food! Will be back
Bowling took a while to get a lane. Half of the games in the arcade were down.
Fun little family get together spot. Food was good. We had some cheese burgers, quesadillas, mozzarella sticks, french fries and some of their funnel cake fries. Everything was delicious. Bowling was fun. My kids had fun at the little arcade they have.
Party of 8 at noon today! Young ladies working the bowling counter were VERY nice and helped me pick a package and save some $! Kids LOVED laser tag, thanks to the nice young man that helped us with that. Games were fun, cosmic bowling was great, the real star was JACKIE, the bartender at JT's that brought us everything we needed and quickly. Pizza, wings, drinks, refills, napkins, plates, etc. When we told her the kids were thirsty from laser tag she immediately brought our drinks out. ?? Thank You Jackie
It's a good escape during these days. The entire family had fun!
Usually have a nice time here, I've had my son's birthday here before. I decided to get out of the house during winter break. All was well until we ordered the overpriced wings and they weren't done. When we told the manager all she said was "I'll tell the kitchen" and walked away. She was rude and nonchalant about something that could have made my kids sick.
They have great drink specials! But they need to keep the games fixed!!
When I went to this location, my card was charged twice without my knowledge. I just so happened to check my bank app and seen that the transaction was processed twice, once at 6:44 and then again at 6:48. When I went to the desk to inform a worker, they told me that the second charge didn't get processed and it would just go back to my card, I said ok and continued bowling. Two days later I see that both charges have been posted to my bank. I called to get the situation fixed and just get a refund. I calle
We had a great time celebrating my sons 7th birthday. Wings were great. Pizza not so good. Not too crowded on a Sunday morning. Place was clean and staff was helpful. We will be back!
Spent 3 hours of family friendly fun here. Easily was able to bowl, hit the arcade area and eat. The only place we didn't get to was the laser tag arena. Next time. Staff was helpful and patrons were nice. Very clean location. I can't ask for anything more.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
