The Waters of Minocqua

The Waters of Minocqua

Reviews Summary

The Waters of Minocqua receives mixed reviews, with many praising its spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff, and fun waterpark features like slides and pools. Families appreciate the kid-friendly amenities, though some note noise issues and dated furnishings. Several guests highlight excellent service, especially during problems, while others criticize poor management, unclean rooms, or broken facilities. The breakfast and on-site restaurant receive occasional praise but mixed feedback on quality. Remodeling efforts are mentioned, but inconsistencies in room quality and maintenance (e.g., dirty carpets, outdated bathrooms) frustrate some visitors. Noise insulation is a recurring complaint. Customer Reviews

The Waters of Minocqua is one of those rare hotels that makes you feel like you're at a home away from home. It's extraordinarily well-kept, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The staff are kind and attentive and it's clear they're doing their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with plenty of amenities available. The water park is always fun to visit, and there are trained lifeguards on duty to keep everything safe. This place has been a staple of Minocq

We had a wonderful stay. The room and pool area were perfect. The staff was what made our stay the best. We had a problem with a lost set of keys. Ray and Kathy at the front desk went out of their way to help us. Ray helped us to find the only rental car available. They both helped to make a difficult situation bearable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Really nice place with a pretty nice waterpark! 2 big slides, multiple basketball hoops, and a kid area! Rooms were mostly clean and spacious! Breakfast was really good and many options! Would definitely recommend!

Waters of Minocqua was a treat! I was not too familiar with the area on a recent trip through, but online the rate I thought was good and it looked like a good place. It was beyond my expectations. Very spacious room with outdoor patio. Very clean!! Comfortable bed, great wifi connection and the ability to drive and park right outside my room even was a rare treat. I will definitely stay there again!

Recently stayed here for a business trip with my 2 dogs. Everyone was so welcoming (extra shoutout to Sophia at the front desk for answering a bunch of questions from me before my arrival!). They even accommodated a late checkout that worked with my work schedule! Didn't use the water park/pool/arcade, so I can't speak on those items. Included continental breakfast was pretty basic (waffles & bagels/toast were the only hot foods). Channel selection was great in the rooms. Overall, a great experience!

Everyone was so wonderful and so accommodating. It was a trip greatly needed for my family to reset a little and we had an absolute blast not only at The Waters, but the local fun stuff around. I cannot express how much every staff member at the front desk, water park area and bar were helpful and pleasant.

This was our second stay here and we specifically chose this place because they are dog friendly. We haven't used the water park but that seems popular with families. Nice location and friendly staff. Rooms were clean. The lobby is cozy and a nice place to relax in the evening. Breakfast is basic but offers variety. Pizza from the hotel pub was delicious!

Thursday the 19th? Eating at the Pub Had a great experience here! We came in with a big group, and everything went really smoothly. The food came out in a timely manner, which we really appreciated. The Philly dip was delicious ? the beef was tender, the cheese melted just right, and the au jus added so much flavor. The club wrap was also a hit ? super fresh, with a great balance of turkey, bacon, and veggies. You could tell everything was made with care. Our server, Sydney, was absolutely wonderful ? fri

Room was very clean and comfy. Unfortunately the hot tub was shut down for maintenance. The continental breakfast was just straight carbs (waffles, donuts, cereal, muffins, bread), so I couldn't even eat it with my gestational diabetes. Would?ve been nice to have eggs, sausage and bacon. So we went elsewhere for breakfast. Overall it was a nice place to stay though.

Trust the poor reviews. The pool/waterpark area needs some major remodeling and a good thorough cleaning. There was trash, hair, dirty band aids, and gum around the pools and hot tubs. Lifeguards complained to guests that they were ?short staffed? so water slides weren't up and running continuously. Snack bar wasn't open and the doors say ?no carry ins? so we had to leave the hotel to get food for our kids. The arcade was expensive and a good 50% of the games were out of order. Had dinner with the kids at t

Finally stayed here after driving by dozens of times. I've been wanting to check out the water park to bring the kids here. I can say - I'm not impressed with this resort/hotel. Disappointed, actually. Check in was a ?what is going on? moment. The rooms were very spacious and looked really nice. Floors were a bit dirty and could use a good sweep. Then you realize it's sooo noisy. The door doesn't go to the floor so you hear everything. The walls are thin. The doors are thin. The amount of hallway noise 24/7

Website said the water park was open, but we got to err and the hot tub and kiddy pool were closed. That was the main reason we chose this hotel. The bathroom door in my room had a broken lock, and the lock to the balcony door was broken also. Had to ask 3 times and wait 5 hours for clean sheets. The snack bar at the pool was closed all weekend. I have been here before and had a great experience, they have gone downhill really bad.

The renovated rooms are a huge improvement! Sophia at the front desk was so helpful when I went to book my room. The arcade has seen some upgrades since our visit a year ago, which my kids loved, along with the waterpark. My room did have crumbs left behind from the last person under the head of the bed. I wouldn't have normally looked, but my daughter?s pacifier fell down there. Overall, a very nice stay. I'm not sure what all the negative complaints are about.

One of the BEST hotels to Ever stay at. Everything was a 5 Star. I've stayed here twice and will definitely Book here again. The Front Desk Check-In Employee is named KATHY; she us the BEST of the BEST. She made Everything so easy and extremely knowledgeable and Professional. KATHY us definitely your go to Point Person for Anything you need. Rooms were spotless with Ammenities, if you visit in the Winter they already have your heat on low and you can adjust to your liking, so many activities, Breakfast item

Stayed with family for a hockey tournament and was very pleased with the rooms, atmosphere and service. Missy was absolutely awesome in working with me to book and upgrade rooms. My son loved the waterpark and all his teammates had a great time as well. The breakfasts were great but if I have one thing to say, I'd like to see maybe some scrambled eggs and sausage on the breakfast menu and maybe some fruit such as Bananas and oranges. Otherwise very impressed and will likely come back in the summer!

Had the kids up from Illinois. The 2 room suite was gorgeous and spacious. The kids loved the arcadeand water park. Even though they were short staffed in the restaurant the manager was super accommodating. The food was awesome. Will stay there again!

Charging adults $10 each for supervision of our kids is insane. Then other adults in there without any wrist bands. Pour business practice as thats just a money grab. THEN charge $10 per child for the slides that were open 20 min then close for employee breaks. So paid an extra $60 for each kid to go down the slide 2 times each. Along with hot tub being closed. Will not return

Beautiful bldg. Entry room is awesome ??. Quiet. No highway noise. Nice balcony. Didn't try water pools. Great breakfast ??.

The only service is at the front desk and the people there are so rude. There was not a smile at check in or out. At one point my friend who forgot her charger went down before me, we were going out for dinner. I went down & didn't see her so I asked if they sold chargers. The woman didn't even look up and said " you already asked me that". It was so rude. I saw my friend looking in the gift shop and said that must have been my friend. She didn't apologize, she didn't smile, nothing. Then I asked where in

Newly renovated rooms. Very clean and comfortable beds. They offer a water park with indoor outdoor hot tub which is Awesome in the winter. They also offer a continental breakfast and the have Starbucks. They also have a bar and restaurant

Wonderful staff. And a good room. Nice bar. Had limited menu but it worked for us. Hot tub was nice. Overall nice experience

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Didn't get a chance to visit most of the hotel. Rooms were great. Breakfast was great! Maybe larger cuts for coffee ??! Looking forward to the next trip!!

We had a family long weekend and we had 4 rooms booked. They were very accommodating and all the staff was GREAT and we had a blast. There is a lot for everyone to do there and the prices are good. Would definitely recommend this place.

Very family friendly. The outdoor hot tub in the winter is perfect. I only utilized the water park but a friend did stay and the rooms were large and nice.

Beautiful hotel, rooms were spacious and clean. Continental breakfast is minimal but appreciated.

Great location. Only stayed one night for a quick visit to the area. Did not use water park facilities. Really like the reception area with the huge fireplace for an early morning coffee hangout. Looks like a big project to renovate rooms is underway. We stayed in one that was recently redone and it was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Only complaint is the old school push-button wall heating/cooling unit did not work very well. Any combination of settings for heat produced full-on blast furnace ou

Had a pretty good experience here until 7:15 am. When someone barged into my room luckily the security latch was closed. I assumed it was the cleaning staff. When I told them at check out they could careless. If it wasn't the cleaning staff someone had a key card for that room and they should check security footage. But they don't care. Not sure how safe this place is.

Rooms clean & comfortable. Newly remodeled with bathroom updates and flooring throughout. In room coffee pot was old and not something I waned to use, and the patio screen door was a struggle to open and close. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. Front desk people super friendly and helpful.

Literally here right now power has been out for 3 hours and all the guy at the front desk can say is my hands are tied. I have a four month old and my room is getting cold. I have to feed him in the hallway because there is no light in my room. Terrible customer service in this place look else where!

Nice room- we had a remodeled room- but noticed an outlet without an outlet cover and I'd prefer a full dresser with drawers rather than cubes for storage. Great beds, but the pillows were not comfortable. The pool area and game room are nice and the employees were all pleasant.

I have stayed here 3 times and I just wanted to say I love the room Rehab that you are doing. May I suggest you upgrade the PTAC htg/clg units. They seem really old and can not adjust temperature on them. New room deserves a new PTAC unit. I can help with getting pricing for replacing them if you need pricing. Great Job on the updated rooms.

We stayed for one evening, the day after Christmas on a Thursday evening. We were in room 325, which appeared to be a beautiful newly renovated room with laminate flooring and updated decor. I always inspect my rooms thoroughly for bugs and the first bed had a small amount of hairs on top sheet and on mattress pad with dirt. The second bed was the same but not quite as bad. I was traveling with my 3 and 7 year old children. I usually move things and pillows so my youngest doesn't roll off the high beds. I

My hubby and I love staying at The Waters of Minocqua. Everything from the rooms to the Pub are terrific. We look forward to our annual getaways there .

Ray and Kathy went the extra mile for their customers! We had issues not related to the motel and they helped us and went above and beyond

I gave it three stars because we didn't really see a lot of people working there unless it was breakfast lunch or dinner and the meals were OK and the rooms were smaller than I expected. The pool in the waterpark were mid.

We had a blast staying at the waters. The room was beautiful! Great time playing basketball in the pool and was so relaxing in the hot tube. My seven year old really enjoyed going down the water slides. In the evening we had some fun in the arcade. Highly recommend!

As a first time stay at The Waters of Minocqua, in Minocqua Wisconsin, the hotel was impressive as a family oriented property, and resonably priced for our November stay. In particular was The Waters Pub Restaurant and Lounge. The staff delivered a exceptional experience but a special mention is due for their 16 inch pizza! Our thin crust sausage included pressed fresh clove garlic as well as an Italian blend of seasonings added to the sauce. Delicious! The pizza also had a generous amount of a mozzarell

Very nicely renovated rooms. Loved them. Water park was get with indoor outdoor hot tub

Nice place. Booked for our niece's wedding. VERY EXpensive. Over $800+ 3 nights. Room newly remodeled. Large TV. Bed comfy and quiet. The few king beds they have not available when I booked. Surprised disappointed handicapped room sooo far from elevator. Didn't care about or use pool area. No credit available. Bartender Chrissy nice. Bourbon burger special was awesome. Sherry front desk very helpful. Continental breakfast nice variety

We come to Minocqua regularly as our family has a cabin in town. The water has issues that are being fixed this summer. But, we really wanted to come back after a hiatus because we have small children. We figured this seemed like a fun place to spend a few days and get some wiggles out. I was hesitant based on reviews. But we knew we could always sleep at our cabin and just come for showers if we needed. The hesitation washed away immediately. The room we stayed in is renovated and WONDERFUL. It's roomy,

Nice cozy little room, little dated but served it's purpose while we were there. The main focus was the pools. Loved the indoor/ outdoor pool and hot tub. Kids loved the water slides. NOTE: slides are closed Monday and Tuesday. One if the lifeguards got a little whistle happy. One gripe I had, which seems unreasonable (but they did not enforce it) was the "no outside food or drink" signage. I get they are trying to capitalize off their food/drink stand but it's too common for people to travel with insulated

We spent one night during "off season" on our way to Bayfield, WI. Upon arrival, it seemed that we had the wrong room [it had two queen beds, a tub/shower, and overall looked badly in need of a renovation]. The front desk person, Sherry, was very gracious and helpful and moved us to a different room that was fully renovated, had a jetted tub, and a very comfy bed. Every room seems to have a lovely private deck or patio and the entire place looks like a fun place for families! Everything was clean, parking w

We came from England and chose this hotel for our kids because of the water slides after a long road trip from Mackinac island. We stayed for one night but unfortunately, when we arrived, the water slides were closed due to lack of staff and the really cute bar was closed for a private event. Two of the things that made us chose this hotel above all Others in northern Wisconsin we not available. We were a bit deflated. Staff were nice. Beds were comfortable. The lobby is exceptional.

Super comfy beds, friendly service, clean hotel. Very poor water pressure, disappointing continental breakfast, waterpark wasn't all it's hyped up to be. Would visit again.

Loved our stay there, though there was one thing that was disappointing, the check-in time was 4:00pm. We had people traveling and would have really loved being able to get into our room by at least 2:00pm when asked for an early check-in I was told it was doubtful because you know this is the north woods. Ok whatever that means. Our room must actually been the last one cleaned because we weren't able to get in until exactly 4:00 pm. I was disappointed because you actually have less then 20 hours in your

The Waters has cool rooms. Great pillows. Its a big place. REDRUM. Water park is fun in winter

Our checking in was excellent! One of the most friendly and helpful person we've ever experienced. The room was good. Two things in the bathroom that could use a little attention: railing in the bathtub and check the very noisy fan. Continental breakfast has a nice variety with healthy options. Pool area is fun and well maintained. Love the whirlpool indoor/outdoor. We make it a point to come at least once a year - especially to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

Very disappointed. We reserved a room with a jacuzzi tub. Upon arrival we were told we were "upgraded" to a room with a fireplace. Unfortunately, the room did not have the jacuzzi. The woman at the front was very nice. She said she would relay this information to the manager. It has been 2 weeks and still have heard from the manager.

We have been coming to The Waters every year for the past 5 yrs. Customer service at Front Desk is always great! Love the water park, esp for kiddos. On our recent visit, we were happy to see that the hotel is getting a much needed makeover! The rooms are nice & have a more modern feel. Glad they got rid of the carpet in rooms cuz it was pretty grimey. New plank flooring is nice. Only suggestion would be to keep the new hard floors cleaner. Our room floor had lots of hair/pubes/dirt.

Why do a remodel and not redo them bad bathrooms . No bars to hang onto and why not put in walkin showers . Js

The rooms were nice, especially the suite with the loft. Everything was clean, no bedbug sign that I could find. The water Park was ok. An indoor / outdoor pool with basketball hoops. 4 feet deep. An indoor / outdoor hot tub. 2 water slides (48inches to go on them) And a kiddie area. The breakfast was very unimpressive. I would leave and go elsewhere if I stayed here again.

The first room we had was beautiful and felt great to be in, but when we had to extend our stay for a night, we needed to move rooms. Which was understandable, because it was last minute and the room we were currently in had already been booked for that night. However, the room we got moved into was the most atrocious and disgusting room I've ever paid money to stay in. There was yellow gunk stuck to the walls, the carpet was stained and torn, it just felt so absolutely disgusting. I didn't even let my kids

Room was nice and clean. HVAC unit is an antique, can't have the heat on with the fan running all the time.

Was so fun they have a kiddie pool w/kiddie slide they have a big pool plug a big hot tub that goes outside swell and they have 2 big slides that are absolutely fun!

Stayed here with some friends over the weekend and we got one of the newly renovated rooms. We had a great stay! Super clean pool area and rooms. Kids had a blast and didnt want to leave. It is close to downtown Minocqua and the bowling ally

The Good: The location is great. The hotel has a lot of potential to be a continued staple in Minoqua. The Bad: The rooms that have not been renovated are less than stellar. The room I had was dingy, outdated, and smelled a bit like old gym clothes. The mattress was super uncomfortable. Checking in was easy enough but the front desk attendant wasn't very friendly, but she was the only one staffing the desk and coffee shop. Breakfast was really limited and not very good. Other than the lobby, the hotel seem

All-in-all the hotel is not too bad. The continental breakfast was good. The water park is small but nice. The slides they did have were fun and the indoor/outdoor hot tub was nice. There is no housekeeping service during your stay. If you need anything or run out of towels, etc. you'll have to ask for it. The room was pretty clean overall, but the balcony/patio of our room could have used a quick pressure washing years ago. The hotel bar was not open at all during our stay, which was pretty disappointi

This is our second year we have purchased pool passes for the day. They are very reasonably priced with a nice pool area (including indoor/ outdoor hot tub), a kiddie pool area, and some basketball nets & volleyball nets. Plenty of space for everyone and they have a towel service. The slides are only open on the weekends so we didn't get to use them but that's OK. They also have an arcade, gift shop, and restaurant. Not a bad way to spend the day!

Staff was very accommodating. My husband needed a wheelchair and one was immediately provided. We enjoyed the rustic appeal of The Waters. The room was spacious with the convenience 2 sinks. I especially liked spending time on the balcony. We were disappointed that a full breakfast was not served during the week. Strongly suggest that safety bars be added to the shower as we were both afraid to use it.

Great place for people that don't mind noise and bedding. Nice for families, kids that run jump and play in the rooms. Room was large, but very dated and semi clean. 2nd floor (main floor) did not have noise reduction, you could her the upstairs hallway and room just above.

The rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable.

What a great hotel! Missy at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The rooms was newly renovated, very clean and perfectly rustic. The entire hotel was very clean and we enjoyed the continental breakfast. Great stay!

Very friendly staff, kids had a great time, beds are comfy. But a few complaints. We got freezing rain and snow last night and they haven't shoveled or put down salt. Sidewalks are slippery. We also had a few cigarette butts on the deck. The arcade is definitely the worst part though. Half the games don't work and just took our credits. Half of them aren't even plugged in either. Seems like they are lacking a maintenance team.

We just stayed here for the second time, it was fabulous! The room remodeling is so nice and makes you feel very special. The breakfast is good, the pool and hot tub are super fun. Very pleased with the upgrades! Staff was all very friendly too! We'll be back !

Every June I spend three nights at this hotel & I have been doing so for over a decade. The rooms are always clean, continental breakfast is available and there is a Starbucks coffee shop on site. I appreciate the gift shop at the hotel as well. This particular year I was able to find Minocqua tree ornaments to gift my family. And the ATM in the lobby with a minimal fee comes in very handy as well! Even though this hotel has been around for awhile, it is maintained, clean and very welcoming! It's so beaut

We have stayed at The Waters of Minocqua many times over the last couple of years. The new rooms are very nice with the hardwood floors, cleaner. Suggestion: Put mats at the entrance of the room or in the room would be nice especially in the winter to put boots/shoes, the floors get full of water from melting snow carried in. There is a few complaints my husband and I both have regarding the restaurant, The Waters Pub Restaurant & Lounge, needs attention. All the chairs at the bar and at all the bar ta

Had a two night stay. Outside it is a very beautiful hotel, the lobby is amazing. Hallway to room was alright, needed some work but they are working on that now which is good. When we got to our room first thing I noticed it smelled like pee. We had the dog with so I am sure we were in a pet room and I understand pets make accidents inside, but the smell was thick. Room was a bit outdated but not too bad. The bathroom was definitely not for someone claustrophobic and toilet was loose. The water park was a l

This place sucks. We were looking forward to a mini trip to a hotel with a waterpark/arcade. We didn't have huge expectations. We saw the newly remodeled rooms on the website and were so excited to stay in one. We check into our room and was an old dingy dirty room. Popcorn under the pullout couch, garbage behind the bed. Just gross and a major letdown. I called the front desk to see if we could possibly be switched to one of the newly remodeled rooms. Thankfully we were able to be switched and that was a h

We have family in the area and have stayed here often. This time we were at The Waters for only one night. The staff was very nice and the breakfast had several options, so good. The room itself is definitely showing its age... the couch was damaged (looked liked pet damage). the wall had a serious crack in the plaster and the slider was damaged. The mattresses were also extremely soft and the pillows hard... not a good thing. The front desk stated that they have started renovations, which is definitely

Booked 3 rooms for 3 nights for a family vacation. Rooms were dirty. Carpet was disgusting. Wouldn't dare walk around barefoot! Sofa cushions were sticky and gross. Dresser drawers fell off the rails and 2 couldn't even be opened. The dresser handles and the table were dirty and sticky. Bathroom shower curtain was so yellow and dirty it made the whole bathroom stink. Housekeeping brought a new shower curtain when we asked and it did help the smell some. But overall the room and bathroom were old, outdated,

Third year staying here for our family snowmobile weekend and once again happy with everything. Our room was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Thursday. Had a little mishap at the pub Friday for dinner which management handled quickly. Ate there again on Saturday with no problems at all, pizza was amazing and best sweet potato fries I've had in a long time! All of the staff was polite and helpful. Really enjoyed my daily Starbucks drink! The kids enjoyed the water park and slides after a long day on

We went for a few days for my birthday. Took along our 3 year old and her caregiver. They enjoyed the kiddy water park. Our 3 yr old was terrified of the volume of the games in the arcade, with no way to turn them down. We had a room with 2 beds and a pullout sofa. We didn't get much sleep due to the noise of the heater/ AC unit. The bed was sagging in the middle which caused my static nerve to hurt like heck in the morning. The next night I slept on the pullout with my daughter. But was still unable to get

Two words. Don't bother. The facilities are dilapidated, apparently there are remodeling projects happening? Didn't see evidence of that. The lobby is appealing, all of which is forgotten when you speak to the front desk staff. The employee couldn't even be bothered to remove her ear buds (at 10AM) to answer a simple question. Or another employee who couldn't stop scrolling her phone to speak to me. Then you go to the pool/arcade. Over half the games don't even function or are simply unplugged so don't wast

Have stayed here multiple times before and were always pleased, but our stay last night was not pleasant. The room was great, but our visit to The Pub was the worst ever. Apparently there are some short staff issues, but there were also issues with availability of food items, drink options or even a bar tender that didn't know how to tend bar! If there are issues that cannot allow the facility to operate at 100%, this should be addressed at the time of booking or at least provide additional amenities t

My family recently stayed here for a few days. We all really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was great as well. The only bummer was the bar is closed on Sun., Mon., and Tuesday. We did eat at the restaurant twice and the food was very good. I would like to add that the bath tubs really need hand rails or at least a rubber bath mat!

Overall the stay was okay. The rooms definitely need a refresh, which is nice to see that they are doing. Our biggest issue was that one of the beds was not on its base so when I went to sit on it, it popped up. I then went to straighten it and found a shoe, beer can, and other trash from the person that stayed in the room prior to us. Did not give me much confidence in the cleanliness of our room!!!

VERY HAPPY WITH THE UPGRADES on the rooms, we booked the three queen size bed loft. ( A bit much but our girls had fun..;)) Staff was SUPPER friendly and welcoming. The man at the front desk was absolutely friendly:)))) Side note from our girls......Game room needs an upgrade, and our girls have made ceramic pieces for me on mothers day in past visits.....everytime we come for a stay never open.

Very friendly hotel staff. Checkin was a breeze. This place has everything you need for a quality stay. Complimentary breakfast, arcade, pool, gift shop, coffee shop and pub. It is very clean and well kept. The bathroom in the double Queen room is a bit small but the room itself is huge. Enough space to use the pull out sofa and still have space for our child?s pack and play. We had a private balcony and absolutely no issues with our room. I would definitely stay here again. It's within walking distance of

Room was as usual very nice and comfy. Front desk girl was not very friendly. Only person there and she also had to deal with the internet being down but that's was after the not so friendly check in. My only complaint is I REALLY wish they had some adult only time in the pool.

Stayed at the Waters from June 22nd to the 24th with my parents and my kiddos. The location was convenient and close to the things that we wanted to do. We stayed in room 227 and it was subpar at best and unfortunately both my children and I were bitten by bed bugs. The front desk service was mediocre at best.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Otherwise it was a good stay.

We love the waters and have visited several times. The renovations (in progress) and very nice. My kids did miss the Buck Hunter game in the arcade that has been removed and the proze counter in the aracde glitched and shorted us somw points this time. Overall, a fun great experience, but my kids would love a hunting game to return!

It's nice to see newly remodeled and updated rooms. But I don't like the new web-based TV's with none of the normal cable channels. The "Live TV" channels are AWFUL! Most of them I have never heard of. And - no Fox News!?!?!?!

Had socks under our couch?! Kids running through halls at midnight. Then again at 630am. Our room had a lot of construction dust all over. The hotel is beautiful & staff was wonderful. Except for the one that knocked on our door hour before checkout. She told us to leave the door open when we left, with the lock. So much for private moments

Currently staying at Waters of Minocqua for our 4th day. What a mistake!. Room outdated, dirty and very noisy. Complain at front desk because of noise level after 9.30pm. Told me that they didn't have a room to relocate and that if earlier than 10pm they can do nothing. This morning by 5.30am, again woke up to the same, kids running upstairs . Complain at the front desk and the guy at the reception looks like if I am talking to the wall, said nothing and waited for me to go. Beds will eat you up when you l

Beautiful lobby area. Walking outside you given a unforgettable view.

When we called to make the reservation, I told them we for sure wanted a room with a room with a king size bed. The only room with a king size bed that was available was with a whirlpool, so we booked that. I realize that check-in is at 4 PM. We arrived at 11 AM just to check if the room would possibly be available yet and let them know that we were in town and wouldn't be back until later that evening so they would not give our room away. When we arrived at 9:00 PM, we were told the only room available for

Cutesy lodge style-very clean and facility with comfy beds. Check-in was smooth and attendant as sooooo nice. Crying children can be heard through the walls? and the WiFi kept dropping?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
