The VR Center

Took my 15 yr old and his friends last night and EVERYONE had a blast!! Staff couldn't be any nicer!! They literally were there every time my 5 yr old needed help and had no issue at all jumping in to show the kids how to work the equipment? so many options too !!! The mall was good but this is over twice the size!! And has pool tables and alcohol!!!! Good wings and the pizza for the party they ordered it hot and ready from dominoes!!! Definitely will be returning for family outings!!!

I've tried out multiple VR arcades, all the way from North Carolina to Missouri, and this is easily the best VR experience you could ask for. The amount of variety here is honestly shocking. And at $25/hr it's honestly a steal (other places often start at $55 per game). They have: -VR racing with actual racing seats, steering wheels, gear shifters, and foot pedals. -Walking pads with foot trackers that allow you to walk and run in game (great for zombies). -Virtual soccer and golf stations (with actual

I came with high hopes to play some indoor golf, but left disappointed. The fellow working there was nice enough and tried his best, but the technology seems really dated. It was a very dim place to hit golf balls and when I tried playing one of the Pebble Beach courses, the sensors stopped working a few times. That meant the game had to be reset so I only ended up playing 4 holes instead of 18. Too bad?.

10/10 would recommend. I took the family and ALL of us had a ball playing the games. The price was incredible, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the game selection varied widely. This is perfect for all ages and I would definitely do this again!!!

Excellent place!!! Seriously, we had a great time on the golf simulator there. They have three wall bays so when you're in the simulator it feels like you're surrounded?. It's pretty neat. I wish my golf game was as good as the simulator hahahah. Highly recommend.

We always loved The VR Center at Valley View so we had to check out their new location in Salem. Wow! It is so nice. Much larger facility with so many attractions. Soccer, bowling, pool table, foosball and of course a huge range of VR games. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you visit The VR Center Salem! Today was our first visit but it won't be the last! My oldest wanted an hour which I thought would be plenty, but he could've easily used 2 hours! I wish I could remember the man's name-he was a technical guy that was fixing an ear piece- he was a great help! We celebrated my sons 11th birthday today at the VR Center. Highly recommend! Staff was amazing, did I say amazing? The staff paid attention to all children and assisted everyone with setting up the experience they were wanting to play. They explained how to play all the games and were immediately available when needed. The facility was very clean. Great way to support a small business. We will definitely be back!

Booked a party back in August and the group had a really fun time. The guys working were very nice, fun to talk with, and had great recommendations on what to try out. We played golf, vr racing, soccer, flight simulators, and a vr ride that felt very realistic like you were actually falling as the swing dropped. Definitely recommend checking it out.

I got nausea in 25 seconds flat in a pod roller coaster. Ster did a great job setting us up for pods. Don't get Groupon as it doesn't count for the better VR experience.

We had my son's 10th birthday there and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was not only friendly but helped all the kids figure out what they wanted to do and how to do it. The price is very reasonable and they provided lunch and plates and water. My son even got a free T-shirt! I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a fun and easy party!!!

Came here tonight for the first time while visiting Roanoke for the weekend and this place was awesome! My brother lives here and had no idea this place existed. Great golf simulator, great drink prices, and great employees. Highly recommend for anyone in or visiting the area!

Super friendly and really nice clean place! lots of different gaming stuff to try out as well as super nice golf simulators! They also have pool tables that you can play too! Definitely would recommend checking this place out to have some great fun.

By far the best service hands down!!! very fast very friendly great deal.. i had to have a piece replaced in a ps5 everywhere said it would be weeks and 250 charge!!! I took my game here around noon and recieved a call by 6pm it was ready!!! got it home and my bf hasn't been off yet Thank you so much, if you're looking for respectful fast and great prices go see them now!!!

This was a lot of fun. The staff is friendly and the prices were reasonable. There were a ton of options. Great for groups or couples. I recommend doing some research beforehand if it's your first time, or definitely asking which games/experiences are the best. Some experiences are much better than others, and others are not worth doing at all.

My kids absolutely LOVED every minute of the birthday party! Thank you sooooo very much for your attention while we were there. The games were incredible! They truly have something for everyone. We had kids from 2 -12 and the adults had a blast too! Todd and his staff provided us with an experience we will never forget! I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family :).

Our experience there was very unpleasant and unprofessional. One of the employees didn't even tell us how to use the equipment and then strapped my wife in the treadmill backwards, until I spoke up an said something. I even asked was it his first day! They had very neat stuff but the employees working today did not know how to treat customers or guide and teach them in how to use the equipment for a better experience.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday with my son. It's kind of a long review but it hits so much. -The guys who ran the shop were so helpful. They answered all my questions and helped my 11 year old choose a bunch of different things with his time. I rode the pods 2x and as someone with motion sickness, I greatly enjoyed the Opera one. It was smooth and very pretty. They have pod options for little kids as well. My son played as Spider-Man, he did a soccer simulator, and played Fortnite on a PC. I think

I had a great time. It's reasonably priced and the staff is really fun to hang out with. The games are a wide variety of pretty much anything VR that you might want. You just might want more than 15 minutes!

Me and my husband went here and it was the perfect date, they have such a wide variety and such nice/knowledgeable staff we will definitely be coming back for gaming and help building our own set ups, they also have such fair prices and make sure if you pay for an hour youre getting an hour of play time

The overall experience I have had at the VR center was decent to start off with. They have great games and systems to choose from. But as far as price goes, it is plain ridiculous. Way too expensive for the experience you are paying for. And aside from that their customer service is very poor. The employees here have a one track mind, and ignore half the people that come into this business while helping others. And as for their console repair abilities, they are terrible. My son loves this place! We recently purchased a VR System from them and were amazed at the quality and level of service that came with the package. They came to our home to complete the set up and taught us how to operate the system. Great deal and great service. Very pleased!

We took in 2 janky desktop PCs my kids used for online gaming and left with 1 AMAZING PC! They used what was good and replaced or repaired what they could. Very quick turn around, detailed work descriptions, fair pricing and complete professionalism was our service experience. We reached out online, physical drop off and pick up and all the while their high standard was maintained!

Rented out the center for my sons b-day party. Took 6 insane 13 year olds who all had a great time and they were still talking about it 2 days later. The rate was outstanding for everything they got to do, and the wife and i even played our share in the pods as well. Found this gem while killing time in Salem, and wow. This place is a must-stop for any type of gamer of any age. They have tons of VR games across multiple VR headset families (Oculus, Vive, etc) including VR treadmills and pods, but they also offer PC gaming, console gaming, sports simulators with a crazy number of different sports, pool tables and racing cockpits that you can use with or without a VR headset. Amazing! We used the VR Center for a Christmas party, they brought their machines to our venue and set them up. The owner and other staff member with him had lots of fun helping everyone out with the machines and enjoyed watching us in the ride. The ride is a little disorienting, it really feels like you're being flipped upside down and moved around! Fortunately you can just take off the glasses if you're feeling a little ill. :) Highly recommend for parties or if you want to give VR a try.

Stopped by today and was totally blown away by the layout and options for VR Gaming. This location has pool tables, virtual golf and bowling, and a great amount of computer systems set up for gaming. Definitely let your kids know that this is the place to be for the summer.

When we went it wasn't horribly busy. They took the time to explain the Oculus controls because we hadn't used it before. Was a huge hit with the kiddo and she can't wait to return. My friend wants to go again to try some of the games they have on PC.

I took my ps5 to them 3 times and it still did not work so I had to buy a new one and I open the old ps5 and they didn't even glue a peace back on

Hey All - Just wanted to send out a review for Todd at the VR center. I happened upon this place in the mall while in Roanoke for the night. I will say that it was awesome. I am a professional pilot and decided to fly the F15 and it was Awesome! Todd (the owner) was super generous when they had trouble getting the sim going and took care of the inconvenience for me. I also thought that the prices were very fair, so If you're considering it, just head on in and Do It! You'll have a blast! Definitely 5

Took my inexperienced little sister here who has never played VR before. While crying, she later told me she was yelled at by an employee for not ?catching on? to the game/controls. I'm from NOVA & I can tell you there are far better VR centers out there with friendlier service. Her birthday was on Christmas so I had to celebrate on the 26th, by far the worst thing I did for her. The other employees made up for his behavior. I'll drive 4 hours north before taking her here again.

Great customer service. Very family oriented and fun for the whole family. Would've given it 5 stars if the racing simulators motion actuators would've been working still fun for the whole family.

Had fun here watching the grandkids experience VR for the first time. They enjoyed several different experiences. Many to choose from. Only negatives were price and the amount of time it took the operators to set up the different experiences. Would still recommend trying it out.

This was incredible! Todd was great!!! I did "Eye of Terror" which was the scariest 6 minutes of my life! So cool! I also did "Survival rd." where I got to mow down zombies with a mini gun in the back of a pick up truck! What an awesome experience!! I now am on a mission to do every single one!

Last week my grandsons ps4 broke. I called our local gamestop, and they recommended these guys. They diagnosed my problem for free..I was given a time frame of a week or so, and had it back sooner. They kept me updated, and were upfront on the cost, which was reasonable. Def go see them before you invest in a new system, my problem was solved for 1/4 the cost of a new one.

Interesting, albeit pricey place to see a glimpse into the blooming VR/AR world. Much of the hardware and titles exhibited are out of most family's budgets, but a good place to start if you and your family are interested in investing in VR gear and titles.

I was really upset the I pay $60.00 for six kids and they didn't even got to experience the vr game system the guy the helps out did not explain the they can play any of the system there but there was a waiting time no he just ramdomly put each of the kids in a game he chose for them so I waste 60 dollars for them to play some vr game experience the they did not got I will never be coming back to this place ever they should have more helpful people the are able to explain what they are doing

Great lineup of games, demos, VR rides (roller coasters, similar amusements) and lots of options, even for those not comfortable with Virtual Reality. Gaming computers, Xbox Ones, and PlayStation 4s set up for much cheaper, for those who don't have their sealegs for VR but still want a good time.
