The Pit Indoor Kart Racing

The Pit Indoor Kart Racing

Reviews Summary

The Pit offers a fun-filled experience with diverse activities like go-kart racing, mini golf, arcade games, and axe throwing, appealing to all ages. While many praise the fast karts, friendly staff (especially Gavin and Brody), and overall excitement, some note issues like poor mini golf maintenance, broken arcade games, and crowded spaces. High ratings highlight great family outings and party experiences, but lower scores criticize outdated facilities, lack of cleanliness, and inconsistent service. Most agree it’s a thrilling destination, though improvements in upkeep and customer service could enhance the experience.

Super cool place. Lots of fun stuff. Family friendly. The go carts are awesome. They have age class racing. 8 - 15 year olds and 16 and up. Upstairs they have an arcade and laser tag. A great place for all ages. Very friendly and helpful staff. My grandsons age 10 & 8 loved the racing.

The was a great experience! We had a great time and the staff was awesome. From the time we came into the facility to leaving our last event- Ax throwing. Our Axe coach Brody was great and friendly. We will be back!

The racing is top notch - definitely the best go carts we've seen. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that several other activities were limited by staffing, but the real kicker is that the laser maze has apparently been broken long term but is still listed on the website. Also, the Peanut track for younger kids under 8 is a bit short and the bumper cars too crowded. The blacklight mini golf had great decor/theme, but lots of rips in the carpet and several broken clubs. We came on Black Friday to do th

Went for a team building event to throw axes. The facility is very large, getting in may be a challenge for someone not more able bodied. Lots of stairs everywhere. Once we finally got to the right place the young man Gavin taught us how to throw and use the games. He was such a great host. The games were very fun and we all learned something new. Thanks for the hospitality Gavin!!!!

This place is an absolute blast! Mainly for us it was the carts! All the other arcade and games were fun but the carts take the cake for sure. We came here to celebrate a birthday of my son. These carts are not slow and not for people scared to race. Must wear helmets and watch a safety video. They did let us race fairly rough which was fun. Definitely will be going back! They do have packages to be able to include everything or if you just want carts you can do that as well.

I took my two sons (13 and 17) and we had a blast!!!! We did a bundle and were able to do mini golf, exe throwing, laser tag, arcade, and spin cars. We decided to not race because my youngest couldn't race with us so we will go back when he is 16. We actually got cool prizes from the arcade and I was shocked that the drinks were a normal price. We got 3 for $5. The ONLY downside was it was SO hot. Like 85 degrees inside. It's a big space so I'm sure it's hard to cool but they really need fans. We were all d

Great place to enjoy with kids of all ages! This trip my kids enjoyed the arcade and wanted to check out the Laser Tag. Gavin was super helpful in getting my youngest (3.5) prepared to play and made sure his vest was secure and laser gun wasn't too heavy for him to manage. He had a blast! We'll definitely be back!

Gavin was helpful, kind, respectful, thoughtful and I cannot rave enough about how he made our experience the best at The Pit! The games and carts were great! My kids loved it and I would go back again!

This was my first time coming here. This is where my son wanted to go for his birthday!! He had a blast doing about everything there. Even an escape room. This is one birthday we will not forget!! The employees were also helpful and friendly. We definitely will be back.

We had a birthday party and I wanted to sincerely thank you all for your help! Our hosts, Angel and Evan, were amazing and helpful and attentive and so patient with us. The whole staff was exceptional, including everyone at the desk and the karting staff. Anyone I asked for something was happy to help, even though they weren't our assigned party host. I'm so appreciative! Angel helped us move out of the party room and even offered to help take things to our car. Evan helped with party set up, supplies and w

Super fun destination for family fun! We came for the kart racing and did not disappoint. Adult men had more fun then the kids LOL! Lots of safety precautions in place.

Went here yesterday for my girlfriends Birthday, ive got to say what a blast!(other than the heat/humudity) We had Gavin and Brody as our instructors. They both were so very polite, professional, and accomodating... the entire staff was so helpful with everything, thank you again guys. This was our fist visit to The Pit, we WILL be back. Until next time, take care guys, Your fellow Subie enthusiast, Ben =)

Went to a party here and overall it was nice but it could definitely use some renovations to the lighting, paint, and overall cleanliness.

Had a great birthday party here. Very professional and customer service was great. All the kiddos had a BLAST! Parents voiced a bit of frustration having to complete paper waivers after completing the waiver online.

The Pit was such an awesome experience for the kids and adults! There were so many activities available and prices were very reasonable!! Staff members were helpful and friendly! A great time was had by all!

Great time at my son's friend's birthday party! Kids played arcade games, did laser tag and rode the go carts. I think my son liked go carts the most. We will definitely be coming back in the future to have fun with the whole family.

This place is great they have so much to do go-karts adult/young kids and younger kids go-karts for less experienced kids. Rockwall for climbing, arcade, laser tag, axe throwing, escape rooms, mini golf and bumper cars. Great place to spend quality time with the family. Mini golf is blacklight so the kids love it. The escape rooms are great lots of different themes and hour and half hour. The go-karts were faster than I expected it was cool.

I'm giving five stars because Adrian went above and beyond in helping me on the racetrack. I was there on a date and it was one of the coldest nights we've had. My hands were beginning to freeze as I was going around the track. I asked if they had any gloves and Adrian personally gave me his gloves to use. He even offered me a warmer, lined pair of gloves for our second race. He is an asset to this establishment. Blake and Adrian both were professional and helpful to us. We enjoyed our time there.

This place is full of fun and exciting! The racing go carts definitely takes the cake but the food and arcade is good as well. Would definitely recommend taking your kids here or just to come and hang out and drive!

Great track configuration, but the floor can be rough in spots. The track area can also be pretty cold or hot depending on the time of year since the karts are gas powered and it is indoor. Overall the pricing is fair. The karts are reasonably quick for indoor karting and the track layout and there's also a decent sized arcade and laser tag. A popular location for birthday parties so go early if it's the weekend.

Been on multiple occasions, truly enjoyed myself for both kid and adult fun. Gavin was a great host each time i came, during the week and weekend. Truly appreciate his hard work!

I went there tonight for the first time in awhile. The escape room was Amazing! They have remodeled it and upgraded it since I've been there last. First the staff Gavin was great at checking us in, and then I think the other guys name was Ayden did a fantastic job helping us with our tickets selection. We were very indecisive and he was so patient and helpful. I gotta say. I'm gonna be back soon then I planned!

I really want to like this place but half the arcade games were out of order. The indoor mini golf section was so hot, you could hardly function. The racing part was fun, will give them that.

Great place for a birthday celebration or just to have some fun. We took our 13 year old son and his friends there for his birthday. The indoor track is quite big and wide enough for the to really side by side race on. There are at least 2 different types of carts there, one for younger kids that go up to 35mph, which is what they rode on, and one for older teens and adults that go up to 45mph. They got to race for about 7-8 laps, and had a total blast! The talked about the race the whole way home. The birt

Just had a birthday party at The Pit and we were very happy with everything. We had 10 kids and they gave us dedicated pair of pit crew members to guide us and the kids through their event. We had our own party room, a couple pizzas and sodas, and we brought some of our own food and cookie cake. We opted for 2 races and added laser tag. Racing was great! And all the little fortnite players loved the laser tag. Then after all that, the party package included 100 tokens for game play. We ended up spending ov

The karts for children are too small for children tall and extra large. They can control the speed so why don't they use adult ones. You can't race with everyone you want to (the age groups should be the same for all!). The service was horrible and most of the employees didn't understand. The arcade eats your money and half of the games steal your credit. It was better in the old days! The age group for adults should move to 12-13+. This ilea?s my experience. The pit id meant for sticks??

Had my sons 11th bday party here and it was awesome. (We had ages 4 thru adults, everyone had fun) Ayden and Jack did a fantastic job hosting our party!! Very informative, kept up with any of our needs and kept us on schedule. Lots of stuff to do for all ages and party is very customizable to your needs. The only reason for 4 stars, is i felt rushed with the party room and activities, maybe extend the time room is available. Go carts are top notch, but also take up a big portion of the room time.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience. We were there for a condensed Bachelor party getaway and Brody treated us like royalty. He kept us informed, occupied and entertained the entire time. A model for employees at The Pit! He even snapped these photos for us. We will return.

Gavin made this a great first visit. He managed every add on for our package. Very patient and sweet. We will be back again!

A fun place to visit. They have so much more than just the go carts. We enjoyed the arcade, laser tag, putt putt and bumper cars (our favorite!)

Great indoor go cart racing. Polite and friendly employees. Axe throwing and indoor mini golf. Brody was really helpful instructing us on axe throwing. The pricing is pretty good too.

We went there for my grandson's birthday. Our group ranged from 4 years old to 58 years old. Everyone had fun including the adults. Great place, I highly recommend it.

Brody was fantastic helping our bachelor party with axe throwing. Thanks again bro!!

We had our son's 16th birthday party here January 25, 2025. EVAN was AMAZING!!!!! He was extremely helpful and made the party stress free and easy. I definitely recommend The Pit for birthday parties and just to visit! We are already planning our next visit!!

Awesome facility! Go cart racing, laser tag, axe throwing, arcade, billiards?a perfect way to spend a day celebrating family and time spent together! Brody made axe throwing and cart racing a very enjoyable time!!! We will be returning for more fun in the future!

SO much fun and SO much to do! Go karts for kids and adults, laser tag, axe throwing, mini golf, arcade, party rooms, concessions, bumper cars, escape rooms etc. We've had many birthday parties here and have gone many times in-between just as a family. There's things for both kids and adults which makes for hours of fun! Highly recommend!

Soooo impressed!!! Took my son and his 3 friends for his 13th bday?. Very clean, everything runs smoothly with their systems in place, prices are great, all employees are knowledgeable & thankful for all the questions I asked over the phone and in person @Gavin thank you to @The Pit for a place to make memories & for a great experience

First off, don't expect to spend just a few minutes here, plan on more than a few hours! Kids carts are FAST, and if you're 58" or taller you can ride the adult ones that are faster! With laser tag, arcade, escape rooms, axe throwing, and blacklight mini golf all indoors, this is an awesome place for an incredibly fun time! Music is great and staff is impeccable. Always on point, helpful and funny. 10 out of 10!

Probably the most fun I've had in a long time. The carts were fast and ran good. The dudes Si, Alex, and Kyle were cool af. I definitely would come back again

I and some friends went their had an amazing time in the go-cart area. Highly recommend if you are looking for any racing to do. Staff is friendly and chill, and I recommend going early.

Had such a great time at the pit. Brody was such a great host and answered any and all questions I had. Brody deserves a raise and I recommend everyone to come to The Pit in Mooresville!

Alex, Si, Kyle. All guys working the pit do an amazing job. They have super positive attitudes that make you want to come back here! 100% recommend this place! They made the experience great.

Great experience. Young and professional staff. Rainy day in Mooresville and this was the perfect get away to get some adrenaline pumping and have a blast. Did the package deal and got a race, laser tag, blacklight mini golf and tokens to play games. Family of 4 for about 130. Seemed pricy, but the smiles and laughs were all worth it.

One of the best indoor Kart places I've been! All ages and all kinds of activities!!! My kids were thrilled from my 4 year old to my 10 year old son, 15 year old nephew, an 11 year old niece. An I was having a great time too, the arcade, laser tag, black light golf not to mention the awesome race track! We love in Florida and will definitely be back every year!

Gavin was amazing!! He was very helpful in accommodating us!!

Had my 10 year old son?s birthday party here for a second year in a row. We had a great time as always. Our party host was Zora and they did an excellent job with us. Our group was a bit rambunctious, but they were patient, and checked in regularly to make sure we were good during the activities and during the meal time. I would highly recommend The Pit for parties! Thank you to Zora for making my son?s day a success!

Very freaking cool. My grandson had the time of his life . The staff is very accommodating and there when you need them most

Lots to do and fun . the axe throw was fun and tough. The carts needed maintenance might even been unsafe Staff friendly but they were not screening drivers and having new drivers watch video This showed on many drives

Can get very busy but we always have a great time. Sometimes you may wait to check in but considering how many activity options/fun stuff they offer it is 100% worth a little line. Kids/teens always have a blast. The escape rooms are great.

I came here golfing, and I will admit I had so much fun! Gavin was so nice! He helped us and informed us everything we needed to know. Glad we came when he was here!

We did a team building exercise in the escape room, murder mystery, it was very fun. We were able to escape as a team, the room was not extremely challenging and we only used one clue. Afterwards we decided to drive the go karts. We were given head socks and watched a safety video. The ride is 8 minutes, it goes by quick. But the one ride was enough for us. The place is huge! There's plenty of parking. There's arcade games, and axe throwing and miniature golf INDOORS! Oh and laser tag. Enough activities for

Definitely a fun place to go for kids and adults! We were there for a 3rd grade boys birthday party and it was a blast. We even had you get kids there and it was great for them as well. Although they were short staffed that day around 4:30pm, the guy that assisted with the party was phenomenal and even helped us load everything up into our cars afterwards. He went above and beyond! We will absolutely be going back:)

Brody and Kevin are awesome! They were extremely helpful and took extra care of my group! The other employees are amazing are really and made sure we had a fun time! We are definitely coming back

Loved the go-karts! Games were fun as well, and the escape room was fantastic. Main problem is that there were so many people not wearing masks, including employees. A couple even started making out in the middle of the line for the main desk. Kind of gross and not sanitary at all. Otherwise, it was great!

The best evening! Brody down in axe throwing was the best helper! Great time!!

The customer service at The Pit is Top Tier. Thank you Jack, Ayden, and Gavin for your patience, help, and exceptional service for us first timers. We had a group of all ages. Jack and Ayden guided us on how everything worked with the races and escape room. And Gavin was an expert with my toddler. We are looking forward to our next visit to The Pit!

Nice place for kids and family to play. It's pretty big inside with two levels. My 10 year old son enjoyed it so we will be back soon.

A lot of different stuff to do, here, besides cart racing. Cool staff.

There is a while lot to do for all ages! The only complaint I have is that it's rather pricey if you have a large family, group rates require 8+ people. Otherwise, there is only to do and something for all ages! The staff is nice and it would be a fun place for a party. Love the arcade!

Clean and fun place to take my nieces and nephews! Notable mention to Scott, who seemed passionate about his job and was very kind and good with the little ones. Would come here again.

Drove over two hours so my daughter and her father could go cart race together. Shocker adult and youth can't race together. Way to make memories with your kids. It's an expensive joke!!!

Kids had an amazing time. I thought it was a bit bigger than what I saw online. Would be awesome if they served hot food on site. The staff was nice. Had an issue with the pool table, but the staff fixed it right away and also gave extra pts on my sons play card.

Good place for fun for the kids but lines can be long even though you can sign waiver online ! A lot of activities to do ! My little girls are 8 and were scared at first when you walk in and see the older kids go karts speedind around track ! Scared them not wanting to go in but after we went upstairs to other activities they wanted to stay ! A lot of steps to go up and down !

Today is my daughters birthday Gavin was spectacular in accommodating all our inquiries with the activities definitely coming again an asking for him!!!!!!

Jack was awesome, he is the only reason we are leaving a good review. We arrived around 9:50 and was immediately was treated poorly by Alex telling us that we arrived to late because they normally close between 15 to 30 minutes early, which is apparently policy (never heard of this, should be on Google). Then watched him talk/mocked about our group in front of us with three other employees. Our whole group stood there for a while, debating on even spending money since we were treated so poorly right when we

This place sounds amazing online. But in real life, it's not so nice. It could be. It just needs a little TLC. All of the pool tables were out of order. Both of the air hockey machines were out of order. Most of the arcade games we played had something wrong with them. The go carts looked fun. We never found the batting cages. Definitely a disappointment. We should have gone to Frankie's. It more expensive, but worth it.

My children and I love going to The Pit, to have fun and spend time with dad, and they're soo competitive it's funny they always have to be in front of each other ??

Very pleasant experience for the entire family! Zander, Jason, Jackson and Collin were extremely helpful throughout the entire time! Will definitely be coming back!!

We had my sons 10th birthday party there and the party hosts were amazing! The kids had a great time and handled the group very well! I definitely recommend!

We had so much fun here with our two kiddos (4&7yo). Fastest go karts we've ever been on - very cool. Love that they have the peanuts track for the kids so they didn't feel left out. Our kids had no problem sitting watching us drive knowing it was their turn next. Bumper cars and laser tag were just much fun. The only attraction I wouldn't recommend is the mini golf. A lot of the black lights were out - we couldn't see where we were supposed to hit the ball or where we hit the ball. There was no attendant

Surprisingly great friendly staff considering how many young people are working there. Our axe couch was Fantastic patient and helpful

gavin is the best worker they have, he's the most helpful the most kind and i really appreciate how patient he is with me and my friends

Really fun place! Racing these fast karts never gets old. The track is nice the karts seemed to all run well. They are gas powered unlike other places that are battery powered. The icing on the cake is there is SO MUCH MORE TO DO. Rock climbing, arcade, bumpers, laser tag, pool tables, little kids track and more! Like all high speed karting, it's a little expensive in my opinion but totally worth it. An 8 minute race is about $20. With that said, it's an exhilarating experience and I think everyone should t

Had a great time racing with my boys! 45mph may not sound fast but when you are doing it in a building, making 90? turns and "S" curves it feels amazing!

Gavin helped us out a ton and made our early Valentine?s Day date out amazing!

My group and I had a great time here! We went laser tagging! The course is pretty good! Big enough to be able to sneak up on people and small enough to have a lot of action! The staff issuer nice and very helpful!

My son is finally old enough to enjoy the go karts and he loved it. We always enjoy our time at the Pit! Very affordable and the whole family has a great time! I've never had any issues and the staff has always been more than accommodating. Looking forward to coming back for years to come!

If it is a hot day or you are temperature sensitive do not come here. Met up with my family so all the kids could race together and I could not watch because the a/c is broken? Asked and was told it is broken and the owner said it is to expensive to fix. Even the arcade was hot and I tried to handle the temperature so I could at least watch one race I ended up waiting by the mini golf area since that was cooler. The kids are playing games and I can barely be with them since I am now feeling so sick. The ups

The kids had a great time. Place was almost all to ourselves on a Tuesday night. The putt putt course needs some general upkeep as most of the blacklights were out and the flooring is coming apart but it didn't stop us from having fun. Shoutout to Ava and Blake behind the counter, they were super friendly and helpful. Ava even helped us with our 2 year old which we really appreciated! We will definitely be back!

We went to spend some time with our daughter who loves mini golf. We were told of the mini golf course at The Pit. They truly need to update this area of their business. Well over 1/2 the black lights are burnt out, making it so hard to even see the things you were supposed to be able to see. They need to repaint the holes as the paint is worn down where you can't see the holes, we had to stand by the hole with our putter in it so the player playing would know where to hit the ball. The carpet in several p

Took my granddaughter here today while we were in town visiting relatives. We both had a blast! Go-kart racing, mini golf, laser tag, ax throwing, arcade, rock climbing... so many things to do. Food & drink options too. Wish we had one in Columbia.

Really cool place. I loved the party package that we got and my son had a blast along with the rest of his friends.

Had an amazing time with my family here. It was so much fun racing go carts.

What a huge disappointment, don't waste your time or money coming here. 1st time here and the last time. NO A/C well over 85-90 degrees in the arcade room, can't believe they were even open for business kids walking around in this place sweating, no fans no effort to even help cool the place, was told by one of the employees that this is everyday they have to work in this heat....unbelievable We were so looking forward to the arcade. Was ready to drop a few hundred in here, couldn't stand to be here more th

Awesome time we enjoyed fast go cart racing, mini golf, arcade games & ax throwing.

It's fun and all they don't let adults ride with kids. It's not fair for the families who want to race with each other to not be able to race.

Such a great family fun day. Observing covid restrictions. Not packed on a Saturday afternoon so you can move freely. I would recommend better prizes and maybe some packaged snack options

5 stars would be an understatement! My family and I haven't experienced the level of curb service Megan provided during our visit in ages! Felt like we were walking on red carpet all evening! She has my vote towards any promotion, up to and including owner status. At the least a front row parking space bearing a plaque of her unwavering commitment and dedication to the service of this establishments? guest! Megan is definitely what most would call ?real talent? ! 10/10 would come again! Shake and Bake Megan

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?
