The Pinball Palace at Dezerland Park

The Pinball Palace at Dezerland Park

Reviews Summary

The consensus is mixed, with many praising the unique collection of vintage and modern pinball machines, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing. However, frequent complaints highlight poor maintenance, with a significant portion of machines non-functional or in disrepair, weak flippers, stuck balls, and dim lighting. While some appreciate the nostalgic experience, others find the condition unacceptable, calling it a scam or poorly managed. Positive experiences often depend on luck with working machines, but overall, maintenance issues dominate the feedback.

Was looking for something to do not Disney related and stumbled upon this hidden gem that I found thru a Groupon search? got a special, an hour of play for $8 . SCORE!! I'm telling you we had a blast .. I was running around like a kid in an arcade down the shore 50 years ago. Soooo much fun! Couldn't help but smile the whole time ! Getting the great deal was an extra bonus.. I was told that the Groupon might not add right away, but don't believe that ? Because it did ! Lol Great hour of fun ??

I have tried to like this place. Back in September I had a great time. But since then a ton of machines have vanished (probably broken and removed) and many that remain are just turned off and sitting idle. The ones that do work have issues with flippers or other functions mostly. I used to think the bad reviews overdid but the place really has slipped since the fall.

Man this is a tough one.. I don't like to say anything negative but they had a nice selection a machines, especially the older machines! Some of the newer machines there was definitely some wear and tear with bulbs not working.. I visit may pinball places throughout the U.S. and owning my own machine i know there is an investment in maintenance.. I think lights and waxing the playfield to protect from some of the ball trails would help..

Jill Was really Nice to us and we had a wonderful time. Pinball ! We loved it!

My husband and I were at Dezerland Park Orlando, FL to see The Fall Guy. We stumbled across the Orlando Pinball Palace. Pinball is a rare happy memory from my otherwise dark and traumatic childhood. With no singeage present saying that it was P(l)at by the hour we went in search of an ATM to get quarters to put in the pinball tables. I put 2 quarters in the Star Trek table and began playing. A male employee came up to me and explained they don't take quarters and it was a wrist band type place. He was polit

This is coming from someone who isn't too familiar with pinball machines - I'm not sure why the reviews are so critical. We went on a Tuesday and purchased a half hour of time to spend playing pinball. There's literally dozens of pinball machines here to try out! I've never seen a place like this, so it seemed like a very unique experience. Unfortunately, a few of the machines that we tried out had issues with it, hopefully they will work on repairing them in the near future. If you're attending Dezerland,

Reasonably priced. Fun games. Nice low lighting. Great oldies music playing. They even have step stools for kids which was a nice accommodation. There's a separate room with a small museum of antique pinball machines. I noticed a few reviews complaining about inoperable machines, but there are so many working machines and many of these retro machines are antiques and it's understandable how they may need a little extra care. Definitely will return!

I'm SUPER DISAPPOINTED. Half the pinball machines have major issues?UNPLAYABLE. Ball stuck, ball not kicking out to the plunger, broken/loose plastics, bad displays, no lights?dark to see the playfield, and etc. Me and my group bought each full day and the museum experience. Thankfully the car show made everything up after pinball experience. I never seen a pinball arcade machines in poor condition. Pinball machines are NOT maintained and don't know how often they maintain.

A SCAM, more than half of the machines don't work or they are turned off we approached the attendant and told us ?It is what it is? he assumed that he knew half of the machines were down, we had to pay the entire hour and you can see what we got, supper disappointed DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

I walked in , never been before , put a quarter in , starting playing, and an employee accosted me and said the supervisor had already spoken to me, apparently you have to pay by the hour , I did not know this , never spoke to anyone, I'm embarrassed and insulted at the same time?.. And the employee had a real snotty attitude?. This will be posted on all my kids social media outlets, to warn of the terrible attitude?!

I had a great experience here. Happened to see a movie in the same building. I'm estimating there was easily 60 pinball machines. Only 2 of which were not functioning.

Plenty of pinball some of the games are older, good price, concrete floor gets tough on the back pretty quick. Got a buy one get one hour at arcade when a cocktail was purchased at the bar with the tank behind it and we mentioned pinball!

I am a pinball fanatic, I was very excited to see an arcade completely dedicated to these unique machines. I look at an open machine at the entrance, and proceed to evaluate the machines. I saw some said 25 cents and some 50 cents. I decide to play in a 25 cent one, insert the quarter, start playing, and quickly it stops. An attendant approaches me? I thought he was going to help me figure out what was wrong, he tells me in a sarcastic way the games are not free. I was like ? I placed me quarter? he s

The place is really cool and I feel it's fairly priced at $10 an hour. They have a huge selection of games from old EMs to newer DMDs and everything in between. My only gripe is that many of the games you are unable to play a full game due to malfunctioning switched, stuck balls and other maintenance issues. They could use work in this department but with some improvement this can be a top notch pinball location. **edit** i saw your response. Please check out pinball map as i logged a lot of the issues

If you read this dont go, all the machines have issues**** ?- Read the other comments its not the first time someone says this?- I was extremely disapointed in my visit to your establishment. Many machines were out of order. The list on Pinside has lots of errors many games were not there and most of the games that were on had issues. Taxi and Road Show had all the Gi lights off, jackbot kept resetting. Johny Mnemonic when you lock a ball it froze. Ripleys the switch in the outhole was not working. Class

A really great time for great value! Four of us stumbled on this place while looking for mini-golf - ended up skipping the mini-golf and staying here! We had such a great time playing 4-player or just on our own. Don't listen to the "pinball experts" leaving negative reviews. As a basic video game lover I can say it's great for any person just looking to have fun - almost all the machines worked, and there were SO many machines to play on. My only suggestion: need more signage around the entrances explai

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews of Pinball Palace. There were a large amount of games to choose from and a good number of vintage games as well. We spent an hour here and it flew by because we were having fun playing a ton of games. Lots of multiplayer games too. The only negative I would have would be that there is no signage so it is a bit hard to understand the rates, etc. There was also video games and more, which were a separate cost, but there was no signage for this either. I wou

Most of the machines had many issues with them and way too many not working at all! Place was very dark, which would have been fine if the machines were lit up well, but they were not. And what you could see of the playfields were very dirty! So many great titles in one spot, it's just a shame how run down this place is.

Great experience. Anytime you can play pinball and drink it is always a great time. Lots of vintage pinball machines so you can really get a diverse experience across different decades. It's reasonably priced as well. A lot of the machines were having issues which I would assume is normal with older pinball machines and they had a guy constantly working on them while I was there. If it was more expensive an hour I think I would be kind of irritated but at this price point I didn't mind at all.

Pretty disappointing if you are familiar with pinball. I played 4-5 machines in a row where I couldn't finish the game due to malfunctions or balls getting stuck. Most of the games need flipper rebuilds really bad. The only game I played with minimal issues was the walking dead which was a super fun machine.

$10 an hour or $25 a day. Best value in Orlando ??

Replying to the owner below: I was there on Sunday. I'm a math teacher and can assure you you didn't have 85 percent of your pinball machines working let alone optimally. Your prior comments refer to this magical ?tech? that keeps them up to sniff, but it doesn't show. When the attendant told me I could play for an hour for $12, I commented on the machines. His reply was simply that I didn't have to pay if I didn't want to play them. It was an easy decision. I pay twice that at other places but their ma

One Hour vor 16$, all the classics in place, some are inop or damaged, anyway that was a cool experience

Fun place! $10 for an hour of unlimited play is good value considering the unique collection of vintage and newer machines ($25 gets you unlimited play all day). A few mechanical issues (weak or non functional flippers for example) and about 10-12 machines were down. Most games are from the 1970?s - 1990?s which was great. Overall a fun place to relive childhood memories!

I enjoy the older type pinball machines and this place had over a dozen. Most machines had bad flippers; weak. Many machines had lights not working and my favorite pinball machine had NO lights working, but had strong flippers (Taxi). Was slightly disappointed, but reading reviews before I went stated machines were not at 100%.

Cool place overall.I'm not a big pinball fanatic but there was some good pinball machines that I liked. Out of all of them my favorite pinball machine is deff the Soprano?s because you gotta work your way up through the ranks to make it to boss mode. Machine condition is decent but there is a few things I need to point out about that machine. The cracking the safe target to rank up is very sensitive and causes the safe to be open immediately even when no balls are hitting it. Another issue is the tube targe

Negatives- No newer machines which, some didn't work correctly. Positives- Employees consistently checked machines for to see if they were operational and great customer service. Great place however if you like really old pinball machines. We prefer newer machines.

Good value if you get a Groupon deal.

Sadly, the more negative reviews of this place are accurate. I spent an hour here after having time to kill waiting for a Mini Golf reservation. It was 15.99 for an hour (per person), so already fairly expensive. The employee working was kind and gave my party of 4 a decent discount so kudos to him. Let's start with the selection of machines. The selection is decent (around 60 games) and is mostly 90s games with a mix of mid to late 2000s Sterns and various EMs. Check out Pinball Map to see the full line up

Still needs a lot of work. Prices are fair and the machines are plenty, though there are a serious number of games that are completely unplayable. As for the games that do function, maybe 2/3 games play to full functionality. You pay for specified amounts of time, I paid for 3 hours, and I left before my time ran out because I was rudely and wrongly accused by staff and security multiple times that I was staying past my time and told to leave. I was minding my own business, not disturbing other guests, not

While this place has an awesome collection of games, they are sadly not well maintained. Only maybe a dozen of the games work well enough to play. It was pretty empty and it didn't seem like the employees liked working there so I'm guessing management/ownership is dropping the ball. It could be a pretty cool place.

Half the machines were off. Of the half that were on, 90% are in need of repair. Sloppy bumpers, scoops that don't register, flippers that don't work, or plungers that don't even plunge. The games are dirty and I spent most of my time there trying to find a game that actually worked. They have a great selection and this place would be awesome if the games were kept in good repair. Alot of potential, but falls way short of expectations.

My experience yesterday was very good. I don't play new pinball machines I only went for the vintage ones and the ones that turned on played very well. I've been to 2 other vintage pinball places and virtually none of them worked correctly so I was very pleased with the ones that did turn on and work. 2 of the machines would not work on FreePlay, freedom and Mata Hari also Pat hand was stuck on ball 2 and would not play. A couple of machines I really wanted to play were turned off I assume they were not

It's really a shame to see so many nice, rare, and expensive games in such a state of disrepair. 95% of them are unplayable to the hobbyist. I don't think the management has figured out that this is OK for the novice player, but serious players won't come back. Nicer locations are jam packed with customers, while this one is almost empty. Someone always responds to negative reviews with "we're working on it", but it's been *years* of excuses. One or two weeks with a competent pinball tech would remove the e

Not all the pinball machines were working but we had a great time and most of them were playing great. Guy was super nice and asked us to report non working games. I'm a collector and a refurbisher of arcade and pinball games so I understand the struggle to keep these games going.

Almost bought a Groupon for this place. Good thing I researched the actual Google reviews. Get your pinballs working or sell the company to someone that actually respects the machines. I'd be embarrassed if I owned a pile of non working machines and actually charged people to come argue with my employees about whether their purchase was worth it. Seriously?

A lot of great tables but half were not working properly if at all. Errors, stuck flippers, lights out, etc. If they can get that taken care of? This place would be amazing. I did really enjoy playing the tables that did work correctly.

Great place to visit if you're into pinball. I especially enjoyed trying out the older machines. There are also modern video game consoles and pool available to play. William was working the floor when I visited and was very helpful, especially with explaining how some of the older machines work.

This place has a great selection of pins but almost all of them are in some state of serious disrepair. When I went (September 21) numerous machines were malfunctioning or just entirely switched off. Many of the ones that were playable needed work or had very dim lights to the point the darkened area made gameplay difficult. Girl behind the counter wasn't doing much and sat and watched as Batman forever clearly was shorting out out but did nothing. There were also multiple games that someone had left mid

More machines were broken than not and the dude at the counter didn't acknowledge that we were there when we showed him our Groupon, just carried on a conversation with someone else. So many better pinball places in Orlando.

Claim 87 machines, we played 3 that worked. Hard pass on this place, I would leave 0 if I could, I have 10 machines myself and personally repair them all, so I understand, my suggestion would be to have 20 games that all work

I'm not a picky person. I never ask for refunds and I'm understanding of general technical issues when it comes to pinball machines. I'm sure it's hard to maintain 150 machines(although they claim they have a maintenance person come in every morning). However, it's an issue when practically ALL the machines had issues that took away the functionality of the game. Sopranos? safe was broken, Corvette was missing a car, Batman?s ball was stuck (the employee said that he couldn't do anything about it without ta

They can offer the option of $ 1.00 per play for those people who are only walking around the area and do not want to spend an hour; that is, the client can decide to play only once, an hour or the whole day. Maybe the beginner who played $ 1.00 wants to buy an hour or the day, because he liked it. My opinion and suggestion.

Being an avid pinball player, I was very excited to visit this place while on vacation here in Orlando. I must say me and my son were VERY dissapointed as almost all the games were in very poor condition and quite a few were turned off. All the newer games were not in the arcade and had to pay separately to try those. Seeing Funhouse and Addams Family pins in dirt poor condition was sad to say the least. The owner says "looking for a repair tech" but to have some of those A-title games in that condition

This is where pinball machones go to die. Don't bother coming. Machines look like they haven't been shopped. Maybe ever.

There are maybe 50 pinball games. At least a dozen were out of order and a great many of the other ones needed work; i.e. Lights not working, bumpers missing rubber, screens not working, and pop up broken. Definitely not worth the money if you are going there for pinball.

Alot of cool tables but at least 75% of them were broken and turned off. The ones that did "work" had important lights not correctly lighting up and flippers would be weak. Overall it wasn't a good experience.

Went there after buying a Groupon to try it out. Wouldn't recommend since over half the machines were either not operational or were broken in some way. My wife and I bought the all day pass and were there maybe 20 minutes then left. My opinion, save your money...

The guy at the desk was extremely rude. Made the visit unpleasant

So I have been to this location min, 10 times. It has been a while I walked in was immediately greated rudly saying need a pass to come in. I said can I just look at one or 2 Machines becuase it looks like things changed he told me no pay or leave... and put his hand out as like he would physically stop me from walking in he was very rude. Drove 2 hours from spring hill. I left very disappointed with this. Manager reached our took care of situations .

We play a lot of pinball and this place by far the worse maintained games. 80+ games and less than 5 actually worked. Extremely disappointing and will never be coming back.

This place was fun and a great price. When we went it was 10 dollars for 1 hour of unlimited play. You get a wristband when you pay and they write what time your hour is up. It wasn't too crowded so you could go from machine to machine no waiting. I loved this place I will be back.

So way cool. So many pinball machines. I think my cost was like 10.00 for an hour play. Little dark inside, but other than that, all of us enjoyed our experience.

Dezerland is such a fun place. I definitely enjoy myself at the pinball palace and Mr. Bootsie was so friendly and helpful with some of the games.

Absolutely loved it, 1st time playing unlimited pinball and I started back in the 70s. Great concept and they had some old gems that brought back memories of my youth and some newer ones, and Kiss and Star Wars were my favorites.

Pretty cool place with 3 rows of pinball machines. Some newer, and vintage. I'd say about 50% were 100%. Some had bad flippers, lights that didn't light, sound board off, etc. Worth the price though.

Do not come here if you want to play pool at their tables. 14 a person per hour. Tried coming with my dad to play a game of pool and it would have been $28 for a single hour.

The reason why I'm giving a three star rating upon looking on the hours of operation I thought a associate was doing me a favor but ended it did not the story begins that I came and was looking at the pinball museum and associate male associate helped me with some of the questions I had about the museum also had a female employee while walking out of museum and looking at some of the games decided to tell me if I had a package deal or if I was here to purchase anything I'm like I'm just looking and she told

Vast collection of pinball machines! There are many antique machines as well. Worth the price. Some machines didn't work thought which is why I did not give 5 stars

We enjoyed coming here on an FL rainy day for an hour. An hour was enough. Bought our tickets on Groupon.

Farah at the pinball machines was such a sweetheart and so helpful! Plus her make up was out of this world. 11/10 would recommend :) give the girl a raise lol

My friends and I, enjoyed ourselves at this place. Price was right, is inside a place called Dezerland. They had the new games as well as the ones I so enjoyed as a teenager. Definitely worth checking out.

A nice variety of machines but many of them are in dire need of service. Kinda ruined the fun when expecting to play some iconic machines but they were not functioning well.

Jess was incredible and super helpful. Very courteous and created a wonderful guest experience.

So much potential in this place but as a pinball player and collector myself it's clear they just don't give a damn at all about this location. I'd go as far as to say that 80% of the games have some sort of issues.

This place was so much fun. Brought my cousin-in-law here. And we fell in love with this place. We're definitely coming here every week faithfully.

It's 12 dollars now. Wouldn't say that's worth it. Plenty of games but most are in urgent need of maintenance with broken flippers, spinners, displays etc.

Had a nice e time in the pinball room. $10. To Play any game for a hour.

Incredible variety of machines from every era. Fair hourly rate!

Nostalgic pinball machines. Okay prices for playing.

Fun little hole in the wall the website made it easy to book!

It was fun, and the price was right ??

Amazing pinball machines and so much fun.

A lot of machines were broken

Half of the machines didn't work ??

We had an awesome time.

Overall great experience, but it was SO HOT! Bootsie at Pinball Palace helped cool us down with a fan while playing.

(Translated by Google) A really cool place for those who like pinball. It's worth staying for an hour and playing on any machine. (Original) Lugar bem legal para quem gosta de pinbolin. Vale muito a pena ficar uma hora e jogar em qualquer m?quina.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
