Byob is pretty cool. Lots of games, with about 8 down. A few had bad controls or glitches, but most worked well. Staff was friendly enough. I liked the free music controls. Overall, it was a great day of gaming, and we enjoyed the place. I fo wish they had a little more pinball. Hallway entrance was epic!
Fantastic arcade, what a gem. They had many pinball machine and 80s/90s video games to enjoy, and even had a pinball tournament (my first). Perfect in all regards, looking forward to visiting again.
Good fun, If your a pin player you will love and not love this place. 1 price for all day pass ($15) Great mix of pins (22) from woodrail to it's newest game (Deadpool). They don't seem to care if the games get cleaned or not.
My son asked to go retro gaming and we wanted to try out The Game Preserve just outside Houston. We loved all the arcades and pinball machines. It's a good way to have family fun! ??
I had a great time with my pre-teen and teenage kids, we LOVE this place!! I also appreciated that it is flat-rate, limitless gaming without being scammed using game tokens like everywhere else. It truly is a 70s/80s time capsule, and I think it needs to be cherished and supported by the community, or we will lose it! Yes, several games or pinball machines may be down at a time, but you have to consider that these are ancient machines, that were already prone to wear and tear when they were new, but even mo
Game Preserve is an amazing snapshot of an 80's arcade. The black light makes the unique wall art pop, the game selection is very true to the decade, and the music playing is an absolute jam. The owners are incredible people who work really hard to simply preserve games. :) It takes a lot of hard work and lots of sleepless nights to keep a retro arcade running, and their efforts do not go unnoticed. Visiting Game Preserve is the best way to visit the 80's without using a time machine.
Finally! An Arcade for those of us who spent thousands in quarters in the 80s! Clean, the games are in top shape, and the staff is super cool. Well worth $15 all you can play! Strong recommendation!
Tons of fun! Family friendly. I like that it is a BYO food and drink situation, and they do have light snacks for purchase. The place is clean and provides hand sanitizer. The game selection is excellent, including the pin ball! It's $15 to enter and then totally free play as long as you want. I took off one star because about 10% of the games (including maybe 50% of the ~30 pin ball machines) were non-functional/shut off. But we still had a great time and will come again.
First time here and we loved it. Been wanting to show my kids a real pinball machine and this place had like 20 of them. My kids had a blast ,me and my wife too. Will definitely be back soon
Place is great! Had my sons birthday there this past February. So many older style games, Paxman, riding games. Dance off, pin ball, and so many kinds of it too. Plus you can choose the music. Not to expensive to play for a whole day either. Having your birthday there is free, unless you want to use their party room. Also, you can pay a one time fee a month for membership and go asany times as you please. Great place for parents to let their kids use their energy. Also, you can bring food and drinks inside
Great Scott! Love-uh-ly place. Good arts. Awesome games. Some need to be fixed. Used to be able to choose the music which was a plus??. Monthly membership is a must for the save dead presidents campaign #worthit Crown Jewel: the classic pinball machines! Variety is the spice of game life and it's here...
Such a fun atmosphere! My husband and I had a great time. They have some fun snack offerings for cheap as well, including ice cream sandwiches. I'd highly recommend it for a fun Saturday with some arcade games and pinball. Can't wait until they add in the new batch of games they say are coming soon!
Me & My wife were there 8/25 2024 . Found out about this place online. It was our 37 year anniversary. Believe it or not. Had a blast. Stayed 4 hours or so . By the time we left she said. This is all the games from we got married in 1987. Definitely worth checking out. We were there from Alabama
Cool place for those who love pinball and the games you used to find all over in the 80's! The music is also 80's themed and the staff was fantastic! They saved us $5 on our entrance and we have day passes for a month! Great place for air-conditioned fun for the family. Restrooms were very clean as was the gameroom. Cool art on the walls leading in and extremely reasonable on snacks/drinks! Also, its BYOB (but don't worry if you have kids as during the day at least it is pretty tame).
Some many old pinball machines and video games that I feel like a kid again. You can bring in your own food, but at least buy a drink, candy or some ice cream from them. The prices for these snacks are $1-2. Retro-pricing!
Literally a preserve for games that you'd never see anywhere else. Nostalgia central! Really great spot to play all the old school video games that have disappeared from other arcades and venues. Everything is free so unlimited play once there. Super reasonable and can bring in outside food and drink.
Had a chance to visit after years of considering it. As far as local arcades go, you will not beat the price to options ratio here. We spent the better part of 3 hours at $15 a person for endless play on any machine. Felt a lot better about spending time here versus a kid-casino like Chuck-E-Cheese or Main Event. The atmosphere is upbeat and positive so I could envision bringing youth groups, field trips, etc? without any concern. Pros: Kind, child-friendly, employees Aesthetic is nostalgic across generati
Ok, this place is FUN!!! Additionally, I have a (legitimate) service dog in training, and sometimes I get questions or problems, and here they were just fine with bringing her in. (Of course we had headphones, it's pretty loud in there, so it was needed for her.) There were many games, old and new, as well as a cafe and gift shop. The staff was SUPER nice, and it was the perfect balance of not to crowded and not too empty. They had a lot of older arcade games, and they also had table games to sit at (like
This place is awesome and will take you down memory lane. I have been driving by this place forever and didn't even know it was there. Dropped the wife off at the At Home store and the boys and I went back in time. It was awesome sharing games I grew up with my kids. $15 dollars unlimited play and I found out it's byob! Will be back!
One of my favorite hang outs! This place transports me back to my youth and the hours spent at the local arcade in the 80s. They have all the classics and then some .. of you haven't been what are you waiting for? Come and stay and play!
Who doesn't love a retro arcade! The game preserve is a HUGE retro arcade with a pay one price system and a ton of retro video games and pinball machines from the last 30+ years. I love that it's a big space so you have plenty of room between you and other players. They also have a good selection of candy, light snacks and drinks. The maintenance of the machines isn't great, with quite a few I tried not working properly, bad joysticks, etc. That being said, it's SUCH a large selection that it doesn't m
Great place for the kiddos! Very reasonable, took kids today - today?s deal is $15 . for unlimited arcade game play! Kids did not come back to ask for more money or to reload card or more tokens. They played till they were tired and said let's go, instead of me having to drag them out. They have snacks and drinks at counter.
The Game Preserve is a true 80's to 90's-style arcade in Houston; great selection of arcades, pinball machines and music videos. It is the closest thing to the annual Houston Arcade Expo that one can experience year-round. $15 per person for unlimited daily free play is a tremendous value in 2019.
The place is awesome! Great service and value for the family. We hosted our son's birthday party. The party room was great and easily accommodated our group. The refrigerator, tables, chairs, and private bathrooms for the little ones was great. We had pizza delivered, but next time we will follow the teams' recommendation and go with Dan's Pizza instead of the local Pizza Hut. All the kids had a great time playing all the different games. The selection was able to entertain the age range of our group whi
What a great place!! No kids under 16 without an adult. That's probably best. These games are old and need to be handled the right way. They are always bringing in new ones that get repaired. They have a stage that I hope could be used for karaoke or a trivia night. Loved all the games! 80-90?s themed. They have a little party room and an eating area that looks like a pinball layout. BYOB! or food. They have some snacks there to buy, but I wish they had a bar and made actual food. If you haven't gone, GO vi
The girl that works here was extremely rude. They open 7 mins late, I called to let her know we will were outside, she opens the door. I said good morning, didn't look at us, or acknowledge us and just walked off . For three people -my two kids ($45), you think the employees would be grateful. ( even my 10 years olds were taken back by it) Hallway and the arcade smells like cigarettes. * half empty wine bottle found on game as well, put it on stage.
Great place to play the games you enjoyed playing in the arcade in the 80s and 90s! They have great variety of pinball machines and other games to play. I took my kids and they enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely worth hanging out for few hours and trying games you might of forgot about over time.
I really love the concept and the old games however there were several games that I wanted to play but they were out of order. I should have lowered my expectations and I will be back when hopefully they have more games up and running. Loved the pinball selection and it was so great to play Punch Out again.
Jaw dropping experience????????. Best classic games from the 80's. Be prepared to be transported back in time. Just awesome!!
We love this family fun arcade! The room is very spacious and the layout is pretty easy to keep track of the kids. The artwork and decor are awesome throwbacks to the 80-90s. One of the nice perks when it's on is a large video screen playing music videos so it is a bummer when they don't turn it on. Another con is that many of the games are not turned on at all. They do have a fun toy/candy selection for the kids. My favorite is the authentic Astroworld sky gondola that reminds me of my childhood spen
This place is really cool. You pay flat entry fee and that covers you playing all of the games and you can bring your own adult beverages. A good mix of old games that are all about nostalgia and a view newer fun ones too.
We have a family membership to this place, the best decision we could make as adults and parents. We have day dates here enjoying the games and environment, and hosted our sons 11th birthday here and all the kids had a blast. The parents were just as excited to have some throwback games.
Some of the games had buttons that didn't work, but there were plenty of options. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon and surprisingly cheap.
This place is legit! Nothing but top notch old school arcade games galore. They added a few newer ones to keep the kids entertained while the adults can be kids again. Will definitely be spending more days here in the future. Only disappointment was that I didn't see The Simpsons game
Love the old games. Nice to pay once and play all the games we want in that visit.
They have no customer skills or concern..I was wanting fir a few minutes then another group enters..I guess they are vip I must be invisible..Walked out ...Not even a hello or can I ...No took care of 2nd group me not a word
Always a great experience. One price to play all of the games you want. A nice variety of old games and pinball machines. 80's music and videos take me back in time.
Probably the best classic arcade I've found!!! Definitely worth taking your family and friends over, these people are dedicated and put their love into these arcade machines from the past!
One of the coolest places I've ever visited. Took my boys (5, 7, and 8) and we all had a blast. People of all ages, friendly atmosphere. Only $15 and it's free play all day, great value.
Who doesn't love retro video games? The days of having to put quarters are over with a single fee for unlimited play or a monthly subscription. They recently got 4 player Pacman, which is awesome. I learned DDR because back in the day it would've been too expensive to play enough times to be ok. Not into old video games? Then pinball is for you; they have newer pinball games, play to your heart's content. Go there!
Good atmosphere and game selection but these machines really need some maintenance. Lots of machines turned off, a few games I played had issues with the controls (joystick's stuck, track pad balls not registering in some directions), one even played sounds but the screen just didn't function. Not surprised by the console graveyard in one corner of the building. It can kill an hour or two for a cheap price, but I hoped for more!
Great fun! Loaded with tons of classics, and it looked like more in the back on the way (either waiting to be put in rotation or repaired?). Love just paying the cover fee and getting unlimited play. Took my sons and a friend, they had a blast. Only change I would make is adding a few hand sanitizer stations... but maybe that's just me being a germaphobe. If you grew up playing in arcades, you need to check this place out!
Great place to come to with the family, $15 a person per day and considering all the games would be 50 cents to a dollar each its a steal. I love coming everytime and seeing how its progressed.
We had no idea this place existed! The guys working the front desk were very nice and attentive. After they noticed our party was more than 10 people, they offered us the group discount. They even refunded the people who had arrived first that paid full price. Even so, it was still a great price without the discount for all of the unlimited game play. The concession stand was fairly priced and you can even bring in your own food! Such a great and affordable family/friend day! We will definitely be back!
Really cool experience with the fam. The game selection was diverse. The art was eye-catching. Loved it !
My favorite fun place. Love the music and playing Pinball! Great old school video games as well. Also the music videos they play on the huge screen add alot to the experience.
Pretty cool place! Great prices and friendly employees! Maybe not a great place to drop kids off for late night play but the vibes are good if you hang with your kids!
This place is a ton of fun. Love the old games and even the new arcade games. Pinball from the 50s to now. They have snacks and drinks on site. Really cool atmosphere and free jukebox with all the classic hits from the 60s 70s and 80s. Great way to spend an afternoon!
I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, it suffers from the same problem that most arcades do: lack of maintenance. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and about 10% of all the cabinets were turned off. For the ones that were on and running, a majority of them had joysticks/buttons in very poor condition, making some of the games impossible to play. On top of that, the overall selection of games was rather mid. A lot of big names were nowhere to be found (Marvel vs Capcom, The Simpsons, almos
Love this place! I have spent all day here a few times, being able to BYOB and food is great! For the price of $15 a person, it's a good deal to play as much and however long you want.
Fantastic place full of retro video games and pinball! Outside food and drinks are allowed!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. A private room available to rent for parties, includes tables, chairs, kitchenette and private bathrooms for guests.
The classic games and the location is great! With my membership I can pop in and play pinball or Robotech 6 days a week. Sometimes I just need 15 minutes to get my fix.
Very great place to bring the kids during the day. Wasn't packed so during this pandemic it felt very safe.
This place was awesome. The artwork on the walls really looks great. The person working was friendly and welcoming. Good mix of video and pinball machines.
Awesome place! Very affordable and nostalgic. Had my son's 14th Bday here this month.
I want to give this place a 5 star, except it's still new and settling in. But it is so promising. The prices cannot be beat. The area is replete with nostalgia. The vast majority of games are up and running. (Unlike most arcades I have been to) The BYOB element is great because we can plan get together's with friends and just pot luck it. The all day unlimited passes are super affordable and the staff is relaxed and chill. Maybe a little too relaxed, but like I said, still a new place. I had fun, didn't
We've been coming here since they opened a few years ago and I'm so glad to see they're still going strong. This is a great place to gather with friends to experience nastolgia and discover some games you never knew existed. The floor is spacious so it never feels over-crowded and they've really improved their collection in the last year or so. The DJ here is patient and accommodating and I really appreciate him taking requests on a Saturday night. The guy up front last Saturday night could be a little frie
Affordable fun, some machines could be better up kept but a good variety of arcade games
Was invited here for the birthday party of my child's friend. The arcade itself is great, lots of classic games and a very nostalgic atmosphere. My reason for one star is due to the extremely vile and inappropriate behavior by the man at the front desk with the long ponytail. He continuously yelled at my children multiple times, and when I finally intervened, he proceeded to yell at me afterwards! He refused to provide a supervisor's phone number, claiming to be the manager. Worst customer service I've ever
Took two boys to this place (9 year and 8 year old), it was our first time. Chuck e Cheese was floated around as an option, but we decided for the arcade place. They don't serve food (you can bring your own and we did), but there are soda cans/water and dipping dots ice cream to purchase. We ended up spending 5 full hours! Everything is included in the entrance fee ($15) including jukebox music. Not every game is necessary fun to play in 2023 (too spoiled from today's Xbox/PlayStation 4k quality), but we f
Really enjoyed this location. Came the first time for a pinball tournament and had a blast. Most recent time there were a lot of down machines. It's kinda the nature of the business though. I will say there were a billion old video arcade games from all walks of life working perfectly that my man really enjoyed. I'm not great at those but they were all working beautifully.
We had a wonderful experience. It was bigger than we thought , which is a good thing. Daniel was a wonderful host very friendly, and today was hes birthday Nov.22. Ones more Happy Birthday you are such a wonderful person ?. I bot the family pack. So will be coming back soon . 98% of the games are working, you must go and give your kids the experience that we had wen we were kids .
We had a lot of fun!! Love that there are so many pinball games to choose from. While we were there, a kids soccer team was having an end of season party (I saw a table of trophies to be handed out) and even with all the extra kids, there are so many machines that they weren't even noticeable. This was on a Saturday afternoon. There was so much room that it never felt crowded. We will definitely be back! If y'all find an '8 Ball Deluxe' pinball machine like I played when I was in college, you will make my
Fun place, byob (alcohol allowed), outside food allowed, and play free games as long as you want for $15!
We had a kids birthday party here. The staff was laid back, casual and welcoming. We were able to bring our own food. It's BYOB, so we brought a cooler. We saved so much money here and had the best birthday ever. Other places rush you out and overcharge you. This place was refreshing.
Edit 2024: Went earlier this year and unfortunately a ton of games were broken down. I understand people use and abuse them... also it's tough to find an employee that can work on these old machines but it was sad that the few cabs we don't have at home from arcade1up/atgames were nonfunctional. Hydro thunder and Revenge from Mars 3D were our favorites and won't be coming back for a while :/ Previous review: This is a hidden gem! Seriously so much fun and the whole environment is just nice. Staff are relax
We had a birthday party here. Fun place, with lots of potential to be better. The bathrooms need a really good scrubbing and the party room we paid for wasn't cleaned in advance. The trash was full when we arrived. We were happy with out how it all turned out, but it really does need a deep clean! I hope they get Q*bert up and running soon!
Was great. My kid and I make a special trip up there every month or so. The trend I've noticed is increasing volume of broken or out of service machines. Still a cool vibe and a decent time buuuuut?.working games would be great.
Been going there from time to time since the day it opened, amazing games, a lot of enjoyment, you can even bring food and drinks, it's a great hangout spot and great fun.
Really cool concept for a business that can provide hours of fun without breaking the bank. It's also super rare to have a fun place like this that allows you to bring any food or drink inside. It did feel a bit warm inside, but still cooler than the hot Texas summer sun. This place makes you feel young again ?? We definitely plan to return!
SUCH A GREAT PLACE FOR THE FAM!!! Took my boy and his friend (age 12) and they really liked it. It's clean, easy to find, easy to navigate your way inside the arcade, reasonably priced (especially the concessions offered, basically $1). The staff is super friendly and helpful for first timers and the game selection is vast. All around fantastic. Highly recommend
All you can play for $15. BYOB? come on man that's a good time.
I guess the people of Webster should be happy to have an arcade at all. It is an okay place. I had fun playing the machines. I thought there would be more pinball machines. Their cover photo sort of gives that impression. It is a large room. I'd say 3 times more machines could fit in there easily. I will not be harsh on them. At least there are pinball machines and video games in there for people who enjoy them. If you give them some of your business they may expand their games. Give them a try. Talk to the
Unfortunately I was not impressed. The entrance was pretty cool, it was a long hallway painted with murals of retro games. Near the end is where you actually enter the arcade. It is $15 for a day pass, so not bad. Here is where I was let down. It was mostly pinball machines. Some of the games "worked" but a lot were very rundown. They had a whole room of games that were either broken down or just sitting there. Only a few were co-op games, so I was pretty disappointed with that. And the bathrooms were disgu
You can't beat this place for a day of cheap, awesome entertainment! My 10-year-old nephew was in town and we spent the day here with him, his mom, my husband, and myself, and we all had a blast. The giant PacMan group game is the best! I'm sure we were so loud but we laughed so hard and had the best time. You've gotta give this place a try!
Finally checked out this place and I was pretty disappointed to find so many of the video games not playable. Lots of the video games had burnt-out marquees (not a deal breaker) but many that I tried had broken inputs. Virtua Tennis had broken joystick input, as did Rampage. Super Sprint had a non-working pedal. Outrun had messed up monitor. T2 was on the floor but powered off and some of the racers had various non-working inputs. I didn't try any of the Nintendo cabinets, maybe they have all working inpu
Went for a concert and to play some games and seriously it is SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!! The staff is extremely friendly and you pay $15/person (or you can get a membership, but we live in Katy) and you can play all the games you want! They have a wide selection of games, music playing, they sell drinks, it is just a really fun way to spend the day!!!! Also kids under I think 16, have to be accompanied by an adult, so it's just a really good atmosphere and my family and I have every intention of coming out there m
Awesome place to go. We went for my adult son's birthday and he and his friends loved it. Unlimited play for a set amount. Unlimited choice of music in their juke box. We definitely will go again. They have a birthday room you can rent. If alcohol is your thing, you can BYOB. They do sell snacks and bottled drinks.
Went here for a date night and it had cool vibes. Very 80s like arcade atmosphere. However, once we started trying the games? we found out that the third of them were not functioning. Disappointing to say the least.
If you grew up in the area and recall spending weekends at super track or summers enjoying part of the time at Astroworld in the gameroom, then this will be a walk back in memory lane. It is as advertised a "game preserve" but its been ages since I've played some of these upright machines. Staff is super helpful and it has the 80s arcade feel to it. It does not have the latest state of the art games but that's what makes it fun. The $15 dollar fee is more than fair. If you did go to an arcade in the 80's,
Overall, this hideaway is a great pick for a nice outing with your kids, your girlfriend, or even your good ol' best friend. There's single-player games but a few multiplayer ones as well, such as a 4-Player Pac Man that's really fun, it sort of forces the fun into a group. There's also about a dozen or more Pinball machines, not one the same I don't think, littered throughout the game floor centered toward the gift shop. You've got your classic arcade consoles like Cheyenne and Mrs. Pac Man, BurgerTime, So
The place was so fun and it wasn't busy or expensive It was cool
An awesome selection of old school pinball machines from the 50s and beyond, a fun time for all the family. Snacks and drinks are available.
Wonderful place for me. It's all my adolescent dreams of never ending video game play on the games I used to play as an adolescent. And it's BYOB, so I can drink. Complete with 80s music and disco ball lights. My two young boys, 4 & 6, also love it. And they are very family friendly.
Take a trip back to your childhood at this place. Great selection of pinball and classic arcade games. $15 unlimited play is a great deal. Went in on a Friday night thinking we would spend an hour or so but ended up in there for almost 4 hours. We will be going back.
Great retro arcade. Fun for anyone who loves arcade games and pinball.
Visiting the Houston area and wanted to find a place to spend a few extra hours with some arcade fun. My boys loved this place!!! Would definitely come back here when we visit the area again!
Had a blast! Good mix of games, not a crowded space, staff are very friendly, and lots of parking. The murals down the entry corridor are awesome. Planning on getting the monthly pass!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
