The Fourth Place: Games, Comics, & Geek Culture

This is an absolutely wonderful game store for anyone interested in board games, card games, crafts, etc. Very thoughtfully curated and Ian, the owner, is more like the host at a great dinner party than a business owner. He and his staff make everyone who comes in feel really at ease and welcomed. The space is great and can accommodate lots of different types of events and groups.

I visited this store briefly and instantly loved it. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. They have a great selection of books, games, collectibles, and more. If I lived in the area, I would definitely frequent this store often!

Incredibly friendly staff, wide array of awesome products, super clean, and welcoming to all types of gamers with varying skill levels. The only store I've been to where I would feel comfortable with my tween daughter gaming there without me. Truly a gem.

My favorite place in town to hang out. Tons of events each week mean there's something for everyone (I am partial to the SWU events). The owner Ian is a great host and has done a wonderful job creating such a welcoming space.

This space is amazing! It is a really nice and chill place to just hang out, do homework, chat with folks. Great community and great place. It's one of those places that I hope lives/evolves/adapts forever.

Ordered a collectors edition book and the service was quick and fantastic! The team packed my product so well it was in mint condition when I received it. These guys rock!

What a cool store, love to see locally owned places like this. My girlfriend and I are not really into comics but wanted to check it out. The owner came right up to us and introduced himself. Super friendly and explained how community driven the store is and that it's also a goal of his to make it a place to hang out and socialize with others. They host games each night and there were 2 ongoing games when we walked in.

I've enjoyed playing Magic, Pokemon, and a bunch of other games here. An incredibly friendly and good place to learn and hang out.

Great shop! Ian puts in a great deal of work to make it a friendly, active and inclusive community. Whether you like board games, trading cards, video games, comic books, there's something for you and much more. It's a great place to hang out, socialize, and meet people. I had a great first experience at the shop jumping into a MTG commander game with other players. Friendly atmosphere with veteran players willing to teach others newer to the game. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to!

Ian (the owner) has really hit it out of the park with The Fourth Place. It's got a little something for everyone and the community that hangs out there on different nights (MTG, Star Wars, etc) are some of the friendliest folks around. I believe this really speaks to Ian's mission of creating a fun space for friends to hang out, rather than a sales/profit driven store that only exists to sell you cards or other goods.

I participated in a Pathfinder Event here and had a ball. It was great meeting new gamers and the atmosphere of the multi table game was fun. I have never played in a game with an announcer and interaction between three tables. It made for one heck of a game. I loved looking through their merchandise too.

A super cool place. The owner is also a really friendly and helpful guy and gave great advice on a board game recommendation I could play with my wife. Wish I lived locally so that I could participate in their evening scheduled board game programs. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I stopped in while in the area from out of town. The owner, Ian, was very welcoming. It was a delight to find a very open and GLBTQ affirming establishment that is truly welcoming to everyone. This store is as much a community gathering spot and safe space as it is a store. We will definitely stop in again when in the area.

I wandered into The Fourth Place by happenstance and I wanted to stay. I'm not a gammer, but this store/community space, made me want to become one. The signs say "everybody is welcome" and that is absolutely true. If I moved to the area, the first thing I would do is buy a membership there and enjoy the process of meeting people and learning games, it's certainly a community I want to be a part of!

There are tons of table top games (with available playing areas), as well as an expanding library of video games, and consoles. There's lots of fun merchandise to peruse, which the incredibly welcomeing proprietor is happy to help you browse. You should definitely vissit to see what this place is all about, I am excited to see it grow!

I share the same experience as Local Reviewer. I was visiting from out of town where the rest of the country has moved on from the pandemic and have come to terms with the fact that the Covid 19 vaccine has little impact on the spread of the virus. I also share the view that thier store's policy is hypocital and have read the store's response. As an example, they specifically require a Covid vaccine, yet do not require say a Tuberculosis vaccine. This is despite the fact that TB causing over 1 Billion recor

Laid back, cozy, welcoming, well stocked, and knowledgeable. We used their cafe time to play a game of Azul, with no table fee, which was great, then picked up a manga. There are all sorts of events happening every week, so I've connected on discord as well. Not to mention getting to browse the Darrington Press dedicated Critical Roll section.

This social space is amazing for when you want to have a game night with your friends or you just want to have a place to hang out. It's a welcoming, inclusive culture. I have enjoyed being a part of the evolution.

Great store for all kinds for board and card games! Ian runs the store and was able to get me a copy of Machi Koro when everyone in town was sold-out. I work next door and get to see all of the cool comic book cover posters adorning the shop windows!

The place is still in the works but for being a work in progress it still looks amazing. I'm excited for a space that offers a creative and safe space for gaming as well as a welcoming atmosphere for gamers of all walks of life. I'm excited to see what happens!!!

Okay I just went to the fourth place for the first time. For anybody who hasn't seen what Ian Struckoff has been building in Hanover New Hampshire you are missing something. It's a pretty epic space that's an obvious buzzing community hub, and has a ridiculous wide range of inventory.

Great place and welcoming atmosphere amazing crowd of people, and for anyone who has a problem with the owner requiring you to be vaccinated the owners choice to make the space safe for himself and others, just as it is your choice not to be vaccinated but don't hate on a business for prioritizing health and safety when you yourself don't.

a bit hypocritical to say that everyone is welcome and that diversity is encouraged, yet only people with proof of vaccination are allowed ?? and that personal beliefs do not count as an exception, nor is ?false information? allowed to be ?spread in the store?. you're either inclusive or you're not, not everyone has the same views

love how Ian encouraged us to enjoy the place as a space to hang out or do work on top of being able to play games for free~ there were so many fun games id like to play and/or buy as gifts so i WILL be back :)

The Fourth Place is a beautiful addition to Hanover! It's a welcoming place to browse, play games, meet people, or have a soda!

I love the community for Magic The Gathering that hangs out there during the week, everyone is really nice and helpful and has good sportsmanship too!

Fourth Place isn't just a store, it's a community. I've met a bunch of new people here and learned a few new games!

I have never been to a game store so welcoming! The owner was wonderful. We just stopped in since we are out of town, and we were greeted with such kindness and excitement. The store has so many fun things and a wonderful mission. I left wishing there would be one near my own home! Also, their Pokemon cards are not scalper prices, I appreciate that so much :)

Incredibly friendly staff that makes sure that everyone who walks through the door feels welcome, and knows everything that they have going on. Great slate of events that almost anyone can find something for them, every day of the week. My next trip here I will definitely be back1
