Once a hidden gem on the north side of McAllen, The Fluxx used to be one of my go-to spot for collectables, retro games and pop culture merch. Unfortunately, its recent relocation has come with a noticeable decline in quality and maintenance. What once was a fun blend of collectibles, classic consoles, and vintage arcade cabinets now feels like a shell of its former self. Nice shop if you like collectibles, comics and arcade games. Staff was very friendly. They have a decent selection of collectible action figures. The comic book selection is pretty small. The arcade seems nice just a tad bit cramped. We didn't play, but will definitely come back to play.

So great to keep places like this alive- great people and passionate pop culture employees. It used to be $5 all you can play (whatever is working) and now it went up to $6 (whatever is working). Hopefully they use that extra dollar to fix the games.

Worst experience ever. Do not waste your time or money. Took my daughter to go play arcade games. When I walked in the employee, who's name is Josh, was relaxing with a friend watching movies and didn't greet us. After paying we went to go play in the back only to find that 12 of the arcade cabinets were out of order (all of the fun ones like the Jurassic park games and house of the dead). I went back to talk to Josh and he informed me (without ever getting off his chair or taking his eyes off his movie)

Patrons beware! If you were interested in attending their arcade, don't bother. The machines are all broken yet the employees won't tell you beforehand because and I quote, ?Well, if we told you they were broken, nobody would come in.? I had a decent experience with my brother the fee was cheap today $3.99 instead of $5.00 so I couldn't complain that much. The game room was surprisingly clean and the environment was cool with music. My only issue is that most of the games are broken and if they do work only a few buttons work or 1 gun works at certain machines. So you end paying $3.99 to play maybe at max 10 games out of what looks like to be 25+ games. If they could take machines out to make space or possibly just fix the games then this

I remember visiting the old Nickelodeon arcade in El Centro Mall, so went specifically for the arcade. $5 all you can play is a great deal. I understand these are old classic arcade games and they may not all work to specification; at least remove the ones that don't work/have no fix to make more space for patrons. I would recommend this place if you need to kill an hour or so of time. Unfortunately we didn't check out the collectibles.

It's a little shop and the arcade was ok but many machines should be fixed up or replaced maybe even rotated for other cabinets to maintain that wow factor going long term. I'd also like to see more diverse retro games for sale. If all you are going to charge is eBay prices but no room to haggle then good luck longterm.

Amazing place! This arcade is such an fun place to go with family or hang out with friends. They have a lot of games that suit just about everyone. Also, they have a large collection of funko pops, figurines, and Pok?mon cards! The entrance fee is $5/person and you get unlimited credits or plays per machine. The only thing is sometimes a few machines don't work or are out of order.

I went in there with my nephews, 7 and 2 year olds, to waste time. I had to pay five dollars for each of us. I understand businesses need to make money but I didn't agree with me having to pay for my 2 year old knowing he doesn't know how to play the games and not being able to reach them. My husband and I went on a date to their arcade. The entrance is $5 and you can play all you want. They have many retro arcades from super Mario bros to pac man. They do have multiple machines that don't work but for $5 dollars, I can't complain.

Employee was great fun experience browsing items no complaints on that side. I did get quoted on what seemed to be less than 10% on some items I was hoping to trade in for others I was offered 13 dollars in store credit. I ended up not purchasing any items and keeping my items had to do a review because the owner should have this brought to their attention, I did actually end up trading some at another location and getting a pretty cool item so overall fun day i frequent a lot of stores and other location

I have been to this location on and off for about half a year now and I can say without a doubt that it is a fine establishment! I have been satisfied with every product I have bought several different items including games, anime figs, and even appeal and all of the products have been great especially considering some of them are 2nd hand! I have always been helped by Anahi and she has been nothing but outstanding. Highly recommend this spot!

Counter guy with the hat and glasses was too busy trying to sell us big ticket items to answer questions about what we were actually interested in. Ended up buying less than we looked at because he rambled about old Pepsi flavors instead of telling me about the comics I was asking about. My family asked about a couple video games on display and instead he chose to try to sell us a superbly comic instead. If he had shown us the proton pack f4om the Facebook video we would have taken that too.

They didn't have much of a selection of video games for sale. That was the main thing I was looking for. However, the real star of the place is the arcade room. Great arcade games with many to choose from.

Went here with my boy and it was blast from the past. He went wild over the retro toys and gaming stuff. I'm looking forward on coming back to get some arcade actionbwith him. It's cool to have a place in the city like this. I'm able to spend time with my kid and enjoy the stuff we both love.

It was the closest thing to having a time machine and traveling back in time to when arcades were the place to be, first you enter a really cool shop that has almost anything that you can think of related to Anime and if they don't they have it, they can help with suggestions and recommendations where to get it. I went to The Flux on a whim looking for some classic games. JD, the gentleman at the register, asked how he could help. I explained to him what I was looking for and he mentioned that they didn't have any copies, but made the effort of reaching out to other collectors and found not 1 but all 3 rare games I was looking for and for a good, reasonable, price. First was quoted at 2 dollars through facebook to get a disc resurfaced. When I get to the store the price has now gone up to 2.99. Got a disc resurfaced it did not work. Took it back they did it again, still not working. Before I had them do the resurfacing I asked if it was guaranteed to work, they said yes. Now they refuse to refund my money. They have a small variety of everything. Jack-of-all-trades but master of none sort of situation with their location in McAllen. I haven't checked out their big store in Harlingen. Their arcade selection is good. Can be a tight squeeze during busy days but still a fun ambience.

Awesome place!!!!! Super fun and a super cool collection of items from tons of different genres. The staff is super nice and helpful and really make you feel welcomed. There is a retro arcade in the back that is great to take the kids or to go on a fun date!

This arcade is the best arcade I've ever been to not only does it have comic classics,good figures and bobble heads, good games but the workers are good and I even bought my own comics like Spiderman Iorn man and The Incredibal Hulk.

Bad employees gave me attitude and keep staring and asking if I was going to purchase something or just hang around, very uncomfortable environment they also sold me something that wasn't functional and tried to charge me a fee to put it back on shelf. Scam artists

This is a amazing store that people need to check out. They have a lot of retro games for almost all consoles, comics new and old, an arcade in the back, and anime merch. Overall, best place to shop for memorabilia on games or comics.

Where are my games!!!??? I dropped off some games to get resurfaced and after waiting a week as instructed I returned to pick up my games and there was no answer for curbside. So where are my games. I dropped off over 100 dollars worth of games and paid for the service but nada zip. Goes to show what you get from supporting a local business. I am disappointed that I purchased a DS Lite from The Flux yesterday because when I got home I noticed there was no audio from the console. Fortunately, The Flux was able to honor their return policy. The staff is great regardless.

This is a great game store for Nostalgia. I miss the days of Game Crazy but this is a great alternative to it. Now that the Flux is relocating where the old Gamestop store was on 10th street next to Applebee's and across from Peppers ?? They are now going to be located next door to where I live. I shopped at Gamestop at that location for nearly 20 years now the Flux will take its place.

Cool concept, nice toy store, a lot of great nostalgic toys. But the arcade needs a lot of work, theres lots of arcade machines but half of them are not in service and from the ones that are on most of them have issues with the controls.

The place is really cool. However some of arcades don't work. The place also sells cool stuff and I wish someday there'll be new arcade to replace the broken arcades

Recently treated the kitchen staff to an evening at the flux after work. #wherethefluxyouat pacman. Jurassic Park. House of the Dead. Time Pilot. Street Fighter. Raiden. Galaga. Five bucks couldn't have been better spent. Third time out. Crew loved it. A lil friendly competition never hurt anybody right? Some of the games were out of order. Some appeared to be working but found out that they weren't. Good atmosphere and brings back lots of memories from my childhood.

This place has the potential to be amazing. Tons of nostalgia. I have gone three times now and every time I leave wishing more of the machines worked. Still had fun. But wish there was more.

Good place for the comic book lovers and old skool arcaders. They have different types of action figures, comic books, games( game boy, Nintendo, xbox, ps etc). In the back are arcade games .

Good arcade, course many of the machines are older so not all of them work perfecty, but a good place to have fun for dirt cheap.

Bought a PSP hand held console and it turned on at the counter, took it home and it died so put in the charger they gave me and it didn't go in all the way so took it back the same day for a refund for the broken product they sold me and they charged me the 30 percent fee for the return.
