This VR experience was amazing! I didn't know what to expect and the VR experience was mind blowing for someone who doesn't get a chance to play games as often as I would like especially be in the game. The fact that we could play with others in the game and the game keeps high score was a great challenge as your scores are also compared to previous high score players to compete against. We also tried the race track driving and that has been one of the hardest games I've played so far. Yet, we will be going
We had such a blast at this place! I brought my basketball team for team bonding, and they loved it. We played laser tag and racing games and even faced off against zombies! The VR experiences were amazing! I'm pleased we have somewhere in Fresno to enjoy fun activities like this together. You can work up a sweat in the VR games, so bring a water bottle.
I just held my daughter?s 11th birthday here and she had the most amazing time with her friends! All the kids enjoyed the arena VR games and the racing cars. She wants to do this again next year for her 12th. The staff service was on point. They assisting each child with every game to assure them the best experience possible. This experience was not overwhelming like it can get at other events. I was able to book a private event for two hours at a reasonable price and have my child and her friends have the
Went to a kids birthday party here. It was awesome for the kids and me. Had a great time. Unlimited play on the shooter games and they have a great car racing simulator
I get motion sickness so I was apprehensive about doing VR. To my surprise, the headsets were SO accurate I forgot I had one on. So if you get motion sickness too, I think it's worth $15 to at least try a game! My coworkers and I LOVED it for our first time here and are looking for a time to go back soon. Also finding ways to get our company to take us for ?team building? lol. The arenas are more fun with larger groups. One holds 8 people, the other holds 6. IF YOU LIKE OVERCOOKED, get 6 people together a
The place is amazing with great staff!!, but the equipment gave all the problems which did not make the overall experience great. Firstly we had to do the car racing but it stopped in between and then the VR kept blacking out and then when we tried the race for second time it ended abruptly and we had to leave it. And then on the VR floor also the VR headset was not working and had to change it. Our tickets were only for 2 hours and this was most of the experience in the starting. Although the later part wa
Great experience! Had my Sons Birthday party here and all the staff was patient and helpful. Thank you again Abraham for your hospitality and great customer service.
This is magnificent place for a party or just a night out. The prices are great the support is helpful and friendly and its neat and clean. You will have a great time. Don't mean on the counters ??
Super friendly staff, positive experience, family friendly, my kids loved the experience!
Great place! Rented the facility for my daughter's birthday, and everyone, including adults, had a blast. We will be going again.
11/27/24 amazing game and friendly communication and environment is set on point and it's worth the play
First time visiting and my kids were amazed and really enjoyed themselves! Staff member, Mikayla, was so amazing! Customer service was on point and was thorough regarding each game. Shout out to all the staff members for their outstanding customer service, will be back next week with more people!
The staff amazing!!! They were respectful , informational for us newbies. Ensured we understood all the warnings like a counter really isn't there. Don't lean on it. Price was reasonable I guess. Not sure how much it should be but it was well worth it. We purchased the party pack. We will be back again for sure! Not too crowded for spring break.
Overall great experience. The staff is super helpful and kind. My son did a VR experience that needed a 2nd person and they jumped in and helped. They explained everything really well. We had a really good time. It's clean and well taken care of. It is a bit pricey but they are very upfront about pricing and Tuesday is buy one get one deal. Highly recommend.
Our new favorite spot to play! The games here are super fun and the staff is so friendly and helpful! Taylor did an outstanding job greeting us as soon as we walked in and followed with a very informative tour. All of the staff was kind and caring about our experience and helped us have a great first time in. They're seriously a great team. The cooking game in VR is definitely addicting! Even with only two people, we had a blast playing and left laughing. My son is already planning on having his next birthd
We had so much fun and the staff was great. Everyone explained the games clearly and they have so many to choose from. VR does cost a little but this is the best place I've been to where you get the most bang for your buck, all the games are fun and long and make sure you try the virtual laser tag it is way more fun than you would think. I wish there were more Broken Controllers around!
Played a few games here with my nephew and had a lot of fun! I believe Tyler was the employee who assisted us and he was amazing! (Hoping the staff can correct me on the name if I was wrong.) He gave us a tour of all of the games and was extremely helpful as we navigated through everything! There were a lot of options for VR games and everything was well organized! Definitely going to be back soon!
we came here to try it out and it did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and even gave us a tour of everything and throughly explained all the games. The games were so much fun! 10/10 would recommend! Great for birthdays!
The facility is small but mighty! So many fun games! Had a great time with the VR laser tag! Highly recommend it! Big shout out to Mikayla for teaching us the winning strategies.
This place was really fun, especially the vr with the big arena. It's so much better with a big group of friends, and they took all 6 of us in the vr which is pretty impressive. And their other survival vr area was fun too, but I kinda wish that there was a longer time limit on the biggest arena, regardless it still was really fun! The staff are very cool too! Awesome people all of them.
My family and I had such a great time at The Broken Controller. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the owners were there and it is locally owned. This is something Fresno needed and we will defiantly be going back. They had VR experiences for kids and adults and a few arcades. Go check it out!
The Broken Controller is a Virtual Reality gaming Center. I went there with my family and played for about 3 hours and had a blast. The game I kept coming back to however is called Simgear. Simgear isn't in any of the arenas it's a stand alone set up with an actual car seat and gives you a wild experience. When I drove at 100 MPH and drifted, I could almost feel the car flipping! Mikayla was the employee that was with me during my time there and helped me out a ton! 10/10 experience, I highly recommend.
It was my first time going into a vr studio. The quality of the high resolution content delivery was outstanding. Thanks to the attendant Jason he explained in great detail of what to expect. Which made me feel comfortable. Overall I recommend coming here, especially if you have a big group. I definitely recommend the lazer tag arena. I also enjoyed the halo and the old fashioned games such as pac man it appeals to all generations.
I visited yesterday and got the full tour. The staff was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The entertainment is cutting edge, fresh, and so much fun for players of all ages and skill levels. Great stuff!
I had a pleasant conversation with Jason about the different games and how they work. While he was touring me around he was eager to help me out, and always approached me with sincerity. Nice mix of games, and I enjoyed the laser tag VR arena.
The Broken Controller is an awesome gaming center, games like Dead Ahead, Arrowsong, and Cyber Shock were my favorite! Mikayla helped me during my time there and I felt like I understood everything that was happening and that I knew how to play without struggle. Good games, great customer service!
Family fun; excellent service; new experiences.
This place is awesome! Incredible fun for everyone. Prices are reasonable and Taylor is amazing at guiding and helping you out. It's a fantastic place to hang for an afternoon. 10/10
I would?ve gave a better review if it wasn't for one of the female worker with red hair, when we went onto to the VR Racing game once we picked a car she told us she was ?just gonna switch it ? and switched the car after we sat. And didn't give us an option to pick another one we would enjoy And she seemed annoyed not as enthusiastic and helpful as the fellow employees she brought down the vibe
was helped by someone named Mikayla my first time, very helpful and made me feel welcomed. The place in itself is very nice and has some fun games, highly recommend Dead Ahead when you go!
Super fun and very helpful and enthusiastic staff! Mikayla went above and beyond to support us in the laser tag game. Would recommend for a group!
My husband and I played a VR game with our daughters and their friends. It was so much fun! The staff was super sweet and very helpful! This is fun for all ages!
My son loved it, I loved it! By far the best VR experience we've had and the personal there is very friendly. We'll be back forsure with friends
A friend and I randomly stopped by to check it out, was not disappointed at all! Highly recommend with even larger groups.
I believe that this place is a great place to spend your time and definitely worth the price, however the price adds up very quickly. This is a great experience and the people help you with whatever you need.
This place is so cool! It's fun for all ages! Taylor and Victor were great helping us with a new experience.
We found this by accident and love it! Just opened last week and the staff is so nice! Wide variety of games made it fun for a gramma and a 12 y.o.
This is a very fun and entertaining place for the family. So many different experiences. Highly recommend this place
We had such a fun time! The team was awesome! We would definitely return! Shoutout to Rhyen for the assist!
Came here today and played the zombie game, I had a ton of fun. The employees were really nice and helpful too :)
Taylor and Victor were amazing . They describe the games with clear instructions and they went above and beyond . Great experience!
This place was so much fun it was amazing and Taylor was so nice and he helped us get ready and enjoy the experience ??
Amazing service. Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely going back ??
Really fun and unique. You won't be disappointed
Had so much first our first time there was legit ! Will go back again ??
Mikayla was great had an awesome time!!
Very expensive! I think if you're a gamer, you would already have PS5 with VR.
Super fun to play bring the family
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
