Has a bunch of iconic rhythm games, solid lineup of racing games, and a discount on entry for UAFS students. Just a chill place to visit

Costs $10 to enter the building period. Can't even sit and chaperone your kids without paying. Regardless if you're playing games or not. And yes, I'm quite aware of what an admission charge is. Maybe considering adding an area for parents that aren't playing any games instead of snarky responses. And trust me, it's not that I cannot afford it, I don't see a need to waste $10 to sit in a chair when I can sit 5 feet from that outside for free. But that is so gracious of you to assume. Keep it up.

Seriously a hidden treasure. $10 for all day play and a very good snack/ food menu.

Absolutely a blast. So many retro games and it only cost ten bucks at the door. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s it's such a awesome trip down memory lane

Had my daughter's birthday party here. Lots of old school arcade games mixed with some newer experiences. GREAT price for what you get. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they need to fix the door to the bathroom. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place for birthday parties or even everyday fun. Awesome place.

We had my son's party here and it was a blast. Love all the old school games. I felt like a kid myself lol. Everyone who joined us had a blast. Hoping to do it again next year.

This place is so fun! You pay $10 to get in and play all the games for free! They had all kinds of gaming there. I will definitely be coming back.

It was literally like a dream come true I've always wanted to go to a place like this I'm so happy I've been here for two times me and my brother and my friends and my girlfriend said it was really fun place to come hangout and play all the old games and the air hockey table and Foosball table and I recommend coming here if you played the old consoles thanks for the best experience!

We always have a great time here, kids and adults alike! The music can be a little loud, but they provide ear plugs if you want them. Also, snacks are very reasonably priced. This place is a great deal for the whole family!

Our family Had a Birthday party here, it was great for the kids and adults, they decorated the party room really nice, could have not been more pleased, staff was great, more than we could have asked for. Thank you Box Arcade

My girlfriend and I had a great time playing video games from our youth. The staff is very nice, and the games are plentiful. Favorite games: Crazy Taxi, Silent Scope, Frogger, Hydrothunder

Had a birthday party here yesterday and the kids had such a great time!

Had a blast in the past, on my grandson's 13th birthday. He picked it and loved it.

I had the best experience planning my son's birthday party! They made it really easy for me. We also love to go on weekends, just play. It's always a great time for parents and kids.

Pay at the door, then play all the games?what a great idea! We took our granddaughter and she loved it! Fun atmosphere!

The owner is amazingly friendly, clean establishment, variety of games from console to arcade classics. This place is definitely family friendly.

Had a amazing time with my daughter. We had a dance off and raced each other. Definitely recommend people to go here when wanting to have family time with there kids. It's cheap and fun for everyone in the family.

Loved it ?? went on a Saturday evening. And it wasn't too crowded. Lots of games machines to choose from. Pinball machines. Classic arcade games ??. Great place even for fun loving seniors who remember the late 80s and 90s games. Also would like to add...the cost is great ?? only $10.00 a person at the door ??. To play all the games as long as you like or until they close. In today's world ?? this is a fabulous idea ??. And very affordable for everyone ??. My wife and I are upper 50s. We had a blast! An

My boys love spending a few hours here.

Brought my grandkids here. We all had a great time. The people running were so so nice. It was like a blast from the past on some of the games, like duck hunt. But even more so was Atari space invaders with just the joy stick. There were SO MANY games to play, new and old console, action, driver, shooter and pinball. Even air hockey and foosball. And never having to worry about running out of quarters was my favorite part. Their $10.00 cover charge was so worth it. If you get a chance. Take you kids!! Do th

This place was awesome! My son had his 11th birthday party there & I would definitely recommend. It is $10 per person but you are welcome to stay & play as long as you like & there are several games to choose from such as pinball, air hockey, Mortal Kombat, Nintendo games Mario & Super Smash Bros, then there is a Foosball table too. It's lots of fun & affordable.

I'm glad we found this place! They have a good selection of arcade games, pinball machines, and even old school, classic consoles setup on TVs for people to play on! If you want to drive to NWA, Tulsa, or Dallas and spend hundreds of dollars to go to Dave and Busters or Main Event go right on ahead. But if you want to support local small business and step back in time with their selection of games I would definitely without a doubt recommend this place!! The employees were very nice and helpful with any que

Super cool place! Awesome choice of games, friendly and helpful people working there, and an awesome spot to hang out with friends with a huge selection of solid games. I highly recommend if you love arcade and retro games like I do.

This place is awesome! We had my kiddo's birthday party here, and it couldn't have been a better experience. Everyone had a blast. Vintage arcade games and every console from my childhood. We loved it!

This place is awesome! If you like old school games, this is the place to go. Brought my teenage boys here and we had a blast! I finally got to school them on some gaming ??! we will most definitely be coming back because the price is perfect for what you are getting and the guy that runs things is super nice. They have a lot of the old school gaming systems set up to play solo or competition in addition to arcade machines!

$10 a person for unlimited gaming..yes please! This is a fantastic family outing or a date night ?? David & I had every bit as much fun as the kids, as we walked down memory lane with classics like Pac Man, Tetris, Mario, Super Mario, Pin ball, air hockey, Daytona & more.

Great place for people who love old arcade games! Its $10 a person to get in and games are free! They do accept cards, so that's a plus! Super fun and Nostalgic. The pinball machines are what really sold it for me. Overall it's a great place to go spend some time.

Cool nostalgic place. You don't really see arcades anymore around anymore. However the loud obnoxious music makes it hard to enjoy the atmosphere and to be able to hear the games. Would be better if they just let the arcade game noises fill the room. The loud music makes me feel like I'm at a club.

Very fun for the kids drink and snacks were only a buck. To get in was ten bucks apiece all the games were free. Awesome place for the kids

Just what Van Buren needed. Great place to come and hang out and play some classic and newer arcade games. Staff is friendly and the owner loves to come up with events to make things more exciting. Take your kids here and they can play all they want for just one fee which is really nice.

It was great get to play arcade games that I played when I was younger pay 10 dollars per person to get in and you can stay all day playing games have some TVs set up with older game systems they have a snack bar it's a fun place to spend the day

You ever find those places that seem almost too good to be true? That's exactly what The BOX is. A little hole in the wall in downtown Van Buren, Arkansas that you would probably walk right by if you didn't know what you were looking for. At glance it doesn't seem like much. After entering it's like walking through the wardrobe on chronicles of narnia. The places is usually popping and a rush of nostalgia (as a 90s kid) rushes over you. A real arcade, nothing really fancy just exactly what you want out of a

Great place and great price, $10 for all you can play video games, plus the guy that runs the place is extremely nice and helpful, they also have a great selection of snacks and beverages for just a dollar or two!! I fully recommend trying it if you haven't!

$10 to enter. Free play on the machines. Couple of air hockey tables. Fun times to be had for the family or by yourself. Even has a snack area. Wish I had the time to go more often.

This place is awesome, all of my grandkids plus their parents had a blast, if you don't have fun here it's your own fault, We will definitely be going back one day soon, Thank you so much whoever owns this place, Great for parties & kids of all ages

Awesome atmosphere. Lots of traditional favorites, including donkey kong. Donkey kong Jr, asteroids, centipede, pac-man etc. Aswell as some early 2000 hits including hydro-thunder. Surprised to see consoles ranging from 2600 to n64 with multiple cartridges for each. Well worth the 10 bucks

I had blast and my daughter did too. I really enjoyed it have not had fun like this in such a long time! It was awesome!!

This is an absolute amazing place! Me and my family love it! If you are reading this right now... COME TO THE BOX ARCADE! You will not regret it!

If you have some time, drop the Hamilton like Erin Burr and enjoy times of past when the Hamilton was a roll of George's.

I love the games and atmosphere. A little too loud with the music playing along with the games, but still a great place for the kids!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this little place. All the games I played when I was a kid. Lol. Talk about a walk down memory lane! I felt like a kid all over again!

The box arcade switch?s the games around almost every time I go, but it is fun to play all the old and some of the newer games.

The man working this place is always very friendly. 10 bucks for unlimited play is an affordable activity that's great for all ages!

yeah MS PACMAN.. I can see how at busy times it wouldnt be as fun or economical.. we went both sat and sunday late afternoon, it was great.. I think it's not known enough to make that a problem..

Great place to go to in have some fun with the family really nice people and a bunch of games

Great place the $10 admission is nice for all you can play

Has a great variety of games and actual consoles it's only 10 bucks a person so as long as you've got at least an hour it's worth it

Really awesome place to take your kids or just for part of fun date night.

Not bad, old arcade game machines! Fee $10.00 all you can play!

It was awesome total bang for your buck payed ten dollars and its pay to get in and free to play

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pinball tables still good in this modern age?

Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
