Went to just check it out for the first time and see what it's all about. the staff was very kind and easy to talk with which always makes the experience better. Prices are good and food also tastes good. Problem is that it's a small building, not a whole lot of room and tables aren't wide enough if you plan to play things like MTG, which was the main reason I went to the place, to see if this could be my groups new place to meet up and play MTG. if this place has more room and bigger tables, definitely wo

Fun place with several arcade games to choose from in addition to the (hudreds?) of board games. Food is nothing special, just snack foods warmed up in a toaster oven. We got the cheese curds and they were an absolute mess. We also got the mini corn dogs and they were slightly soggy. It was our first time ordering food here and probably wouldn't do so again. Our bartender made our visit feel so welcoming. Her enthusiasm, attentivness, and attitude made the the bar so much better.. Great prices on drinks! The built-in retro games are free and a blast. This place is AWESOME! I got to sip the Blue Shell's namesake cocktail and play Super Mario Bros 3 on an emulator with the classic NES controller. There were also a ton of arcade games and pinball! The music was mostly 90s rock and industrial that fed my nostalgia further, and apparently they even have D&D groups! I am definitely going back.

Went here to check out the pinball machines. Great prices, great drinks for really just being a mixture of canned concoctions and syrups, and we didn't have a bad interaction with any staff or customers. It was really just a bar that I felt I could go into and chill if I lived here. Also give a discount if you're a service industry worker, which was an unexpected surprise for my husband and I.

This is such a neat space! The game selection is good, for board games, arcade games, and retro games built into the bartop. It was a bit quiet on a Wednesday evening, but I'm sure it's a fantastic place on weekends. Seems like a good place to bring a date and challenge them for a high score...

Great atmosphere- if you are from the 80's to early 2000's, you will feel right at home in this Retro Barcade. Tons of games on the wall, active and engaged staff who work in a place they themselves would and do hang out at. Love this place, be sure to checkout all the events they do throughout the year

Super great place, lots of board games, retro video games, and arcade games. Just opened up and there were a good number of people on the opening night, less people earlier in the day (able to have a big table and play full rounds of Catan), so it'll be great for any any level of crowd. Definitely recommend. Owners are obviously super cool too.

If you like playing games and having a drink, this place is the place to go! The bar tender was awesome! She had the perfect blend of waiting our table and letting us play games. Food was good, prices accordingly, and they have your standard drinks to pick from. Grab a game or a deck and a few friends and get going to this place already!

My coworkers introduced me to this bar, and I enjoyed every moment I spent there with them. The food is good. The drinks are superb, and the atmosphere is inviting and friendly. The staff are also welcoming, professional, and made me feel right at home, as though the bar was their personal residence and I was an esteemed guest. The feel of the place is what I love most about it! I look forward to visiting again!

Large tables in the back for d&d or magic, fun drinks, and good quick food! Staff has always been pleasant, and they have pleanty of arcade games, board games, and choices of drinks. Always got something fun going on the tv too! Highly recommend joining the discord for event announcements like mtg drafts, mini painting nights, and much more!

Can't say enough good things about the Blue Shell. It's our go to place for a fun night out. It's perfect for adult gamer types. We enjoy all the costume events, paint and pints, and just playing board games. We are always welcomed in a friendly familiar way and the bar food is always hot and delicious. It's a cool joint!

A great place to play pinball, a few arcade games (not a huge selection), in-bar 'retro' systems like nes, Sega Genesis, Nintendo, tons of board games with an area in the back to play them. Several beers on tap and surprisingly good finger food with a good selection of sauce options!

Great place. I don't really like seltzers, but they had me try Orange Smash. It's a game changer. The most unbelievably tasty seltzer on the planet. But eh, don't bother with the food. It's straight up gross, and they didn't even cook it all the way. Still, there is an awesome variety of beverages and games. I'm thankful there's a space for the RP crowd in the back. Brought back memories when I used to play D&D.

Good service, bartender on Sunday was stellar fellow. Pins could be better maintained, way off bubble!! But otherwise, very good vibes.

This place is awesome. Described to me as a bar for people that hate bars. I'm not old enough to be a "boomer", but old enough to remember when most of these arcade games first came out. Wish they would have had places like this when I was younger. Don't like arcade games? No problem, as they have a ton of board games or card games that you can take to a table. Into MTG or D&D? This is coolest little place in town. Great place to come play board games card games, and they have such a huge supply I'm sure they'll have whatever it is you want to play already. Plus the built-in arcade games, and the old school video game consoles directly into the bar are super fun. Just last week I crushed Streets of Rage 2. Of course, they have a thoughtful selection of local beers, ciders, and sours, and they're open pretty late, all of which adds up to a pretty dope night with your friends.

Had a really good time here...its very low key, the staff is fantastic, and the place was very clean and well kept!! I had a couple friends in from out of town and we decided to go check it out, the beer selection was pretty good, and the finger foods were a nice touch. Loved the board games, and the pinball machines. Will definitely be going back sooner than later!

CDAs barcade with a huge selection of boardgames and other entertainment. The staff is superb and they consistently have a great selection of rotating taps. They serve some snack foods, and have some good food options nearby (relic BBQ right next door, Moontime down the street). The parking is mostly sidestreet but still really close. They don't yet have a liquor license, but they have canned mixed drinks if that's your thing.

What a cool joint on the East end of Sherman Ave! The place is bigger than it appears on the outside. Very friendly and attentive staff. We never had an empty glass the whole night. This gamer bar had some old school classic arcades, a couple pinball machines, and a plethora of board and card games on hand. Not too slow, not too busy, The Blue Shell is CdAs best bar for just enjoying an evening, meeting folks and having a good time. I've lived in CdA for 25 years and this is the sort of bar and community I always wish we'd had when I was younger. I'm beyond glad y'all are here and I can't wait to be a regular this winter.

Just okay. It's not a bad spot by any means, but it's a bit more geared towards table top gamers I feel. Was hoping for a bit more variety when it comes to the actual arcade side of things & drinks. Better than nothing for a small town though.

One of the best places I found in Coeur d'Alene really relaxed and you can play a board game if you want you can go out on the patio and they got the vintage 80s and 90s video games and pinball machines and the staff are really friendly and great and the drinks aren't bad either I'd suggest the blue shell
