Took the whole family , and they had a blast. There's a wide selection of arcade games to play and games for the adults to play if you wanted to. I think the amount of credit per machine is high, but you'll have that in any of these types of places. Overall, it was clean and maintained, and the kids had a blast!
This was my favorite part besides my hotel room. Lots of claw machines & games. Definitely recommend, specially if you have teens/young adult kids. Clean, the lady that did prizes was very nice & patient with everyone.
Pros: it's awesome that you can choose either paper tickets or e tickets. This makes the arcade experience more fun. Ticket prices in the prize area are decent, but you would need 3000+ tickets to get anything good. Cons: games are insanely overpriced and have been getting more expensive each time I go. Most games used to be 8, now 90% of them cost 10+ credits. They also removed a lot of their good games. (including new games that they got 1-2 years ago!) They also have 3-5 games that are "e tickets only"
Don't even bother with this place. The arcade has gotten so bad that it's not even funny. They made half of the games ?e ticket games? when they clearly have a ticket dispenser. What's the point of the paper ticket option when half of them give e tickets? Lots of games have been removed since last year, it seems like they moved most of their good games to the cedar point location. Not to mention each game costs 8 credits minimum, this place is not worth the cost or time anymore. Unless they actually make al
Took my family to Kalahari for a 3 day getaway. I have 0 complaints. The game room was awesome. A great selection of games and the attractions were fun and unique. I had kids from age ranges of 6-13 and all of them had a great time playing in the big game room!. The prices were to be as expected. I actually think they were reasonable. I bought the safari family package for four kids and ended up only spending more money because my husband and I got bored haha. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for geta
A fun place + the staff is very helpful Lots of different variety in their game experience
Awesome arcade if you don't mind the high pricing for everything. The crane machines were easy for kids to win prizes, especially the smaller to medium sized crane games. TONS of games here-- it impressed the entire family. We spent like 2 hrs here and our kids were going nuts on the machine and both of them spent over $200. LOL.
Kids had a blast we bought 2 $200 deal bundles well worth it The arcade definitely enhanced our time at Kalahari
Visited last night for date night with my partner and we were both completely disappointed. It's very overpriced, crowded, and there aren't enough employees to help with things. I had to go sit down while my partner stood in the prize area forever to check out. There was only one woman working and I had to go sit down because we were standing there too long. I'm also disappointed they don't have a shuttle from the parking lot to the front door. This is so harsh on people with disabilities and physical s
Fun and easy card system. No dance or rhythm games, no pinball! Very loud. Lots of games. A few will take your credits but not work, and some won't read a card at all. Overall, pretty okay. For $100 worth of credits, we won enough tickets to get a handful of candy.
Omg this place is soooo funnnnn we were at kalahari for more than a week and we went to gaming zone almost everyday!!!! The employees are so friendly and helping and more of all very hardworking especially L.A was so nice to us she explains everything so nicely and politely... we being love it here???????????????? 100% recommended ??????????????
Kids had a good time but the extra?s are completely over priced!
Its expensive like all things here at Kalahari. No attempts made to clean machines and touch points despite many signs saying they will. They don't stop anyone that's not wearing a mask and generally lack any supposed safety measures.
Save your money. I rarely give bad reviews, but this was substandard. The whole experience was over in about 15 minutes. There was very little intrigue or storyline. It was completely anticlimactic. We were shocked that it was over. Note that you will be assigned a room with strangers unless you have eight people. The staff was friendly. The design was flawed.
It was okay, a lot of the non ticket games have been removed. The prize area has been remodeled and looks really good. The only problem we saw was there was very little prizes for under 1000.
Been coming to Kalahari for years, also multiple times a year. This is the first time ever my husband & family were questioned if we knew an employee? This was due to the amount of tickets our family had won in 4 days (family of 5). We spend A LOT of money in the game room every trip. Often times spending more than our resort stay! It is appalling to have a Supervisor question a guest insinuating that we were given tickets/prizes from one of their employees (stealing!). Your supervisors can clearly see the
Great place for all ages ! The employees are very friendly and helpful. The arcade features nearly 250 of the biggest and best games, from the latest video and prize games, to amazing virtual reality You'll be seeing double - and maybe triple in a brightly colored Mirror Maze that is fun for the whole family. When you're done playing games, redeem your Prize Points in our huge walk-in Prize Store
We loved the escape room! So fun! We are ready to do the next one! :)
It was very fun for me and yeah but I'm still tried and I didn't get that much energy so It's a lot to be able not be a little more active and then I'm not sure what I can get
If you are not staying at this resort and you stop in to try this place, just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This resort is highly popular so everything was extremely crowded and overpriced. I will say the place seemed better maintained than any Great Wolf's Lodge, so that's a plus, if you decide to stay here.
I don't have anything to compare it to, since this was our first escape room. We had a blast with three of our twenty-something "kids"! Our hints got stuck at the first challenge but we still figured out our and escaped with 5 minutes or so to spare. Recommended!
We had a great time playing the Escape from Planet Obscuro! The staff was really helpful and friendly throughout the game. If we got stuck, they were able to help us out. At the same time, we wished it could've been a little more elaborate and taken a bit more time. Overall, very fun.
The games are fun and there is a variety. Space is very limited and a lot of games were breaking down our entire stay. We had a hard time finding anyone to assist us when games stopped working or wasn't giving the tickets we won. A few of the prize counter people were very rude as well. Rolling eyes when my kids asked a question about a prize. I understand that its a busy venue and I'm sure they deal with a lot but it wasn't necessary to roll eyes at my 5 year old for asking about the prize he wanted. (He
Young girls had a blast, as one that was buying it's an arm and a leg to play. Bought a $25 100 credit card and the cost of a lot of the attractions needed a lot of credits. 2 girls played 2 games with that 100 credits. There's a lot to pick from and there's some that only charged 3-6 credits, anything actually cool charged 40+ credits... Adults who brought the kids couldn't even afford to play after paying for the kids. Only reason this is a 4 star is because the girls loved playing, I hated the price or i
Great staff and when a machine malfunctions they fix it. Great options for every age.
went to the Big Game Room for spring break with some friends, very enjoyable experience. wide variety of games to choose, Rin by the counter was a delight to talk to!! she was super helpful and kind when we asked for assistance
I enjoyed the game room. Must state this was during the week of Christmas and that makes some things understandable. Several time during our stay caused us to receive game cards for free play. However the whack a mole had card readers that ate game credits. Several time others would us a game machine and win when we played no tickets would dispense from monopoly and others. Later we saw several crew techs working on the systems and labeling machine for non play and then we saw crew diligently working to cor
Our family did the Desert room (Lost in Time i believe it was called) It was me, my partner, and our 8 year old. It was just difficult enough to make us really think and problem solve, but not too hard that the child struggled to understand. We had a blast! The only downside was our tablet died almost immediately after the door shut, but the two lovely workers present, Lacee and Sammy, were able to give us our prompts for each puzzle as needed over the intercom. They were very sweet and helpful and an absol
The shorter time of the escape rooms at Kalahari makes it better for smaller kids than some of the 1 hour escape rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The escape rooms are a little different and more computer/simulation-based than others we've done but overall a good experience.
I love going here. The staff is always the friendliest. They try their hardest to fix any issue if it arises. I also enjoy their food. The polite attentive staff plus all the great fun games makes this a fun frequent stop for us.
It's like a large Chuck E Cheese. Most of the games give you tickets to turn in for items. Most of the games are meant for smaller kids. The prizes are also geared for smaller kids. My 11 year old son only wanted a candy bar. I would say kids around 8 and younger would like it more.
Games are fun but pricey. Spent more than the trips stay in here by over double if not triple. Games would take credits then not work. Claw machines wouldnt grab till after pulling up. I know machines arent perfect and expected this, just not as often as this was happening. Lines are 25+ mins for prize counter. They have 2 maybe 3 people working to fix the game or reswipe for you to get your credits back and you spend a lot of time standing and waiting. Other than that is was very fun for all of us
The children played all night long, they even completed a whole game of Halo. The food was worth the price. We felt safe especially during the COVID-19 and we had such a great time!!
Me and my friends did the escape rooms and almost didnt escape! It wasnt too hard but it wasnt easy and when we got stuck the helper gave us little hints that helped a lot and it didnt affect our time! 10/10 would recommend to anybody who wants to try escape rooms!
This attendant was super kind and waited as we were a few minutes late. The mission was fun and allowed us to all work together. The puzzles were immediately obvious so it kept it interesting.
Great time for both kids and adults. Lots of game choices and fun prizes for kids. They also have an escape room, laser tag, 9 hole blacklight mini golf, mini bowling and a 7D theater. Just prepare yourself to spend some money tho. Also you don't have to stay at Kalahari resort to go to the Big Game Room, anyone can come in and use it!
The escape room was a lot of fun! Alyssa B was awesome! She made it a great experience! It was challenging enough for adults yet kids could participate too. Thank you!
Loved this place as a kid, it's still fun but you cant play anything for under 9 credits, which Is over $2. Kinda a rip off, but $80 lasted me and my girlfriend about an hour of frugal use, would definitely not recommend this place unless you are already at the waterpark and want to spend a good amount of $
I'm giving this arcade two stars because they did have many games up and running to be fair. Extremely overpriced and I mean extremely... You get very little for your money and a lot of the games weren't working very much understaffed they were very busy I would never go back never... I didn't tell my kids this because I didn't want them to feel bad I made the best of a bummer situation. My advice take your kids someplace else.
From arcade games to video games, this place has a great variety of entertainment.
My children absolutely loved here and enjoyed handing in their tickets to choose some prices. The staff were very helpful when we experienced issues with our card.
I like this arcade because it is modern and upbeat unlike run down outdated Cedar Point Hotel Breakers arcade room. It has the fun foto booth, fun spinning games, the fun Wizards of oz and fun Charlie and the chocolate factory. The Mario Brothers prize game is attractive. It has 7d motion theater, laser tag and much more. The staff is very friendly. The pricing is fair to everyone. The only con is they need more staff to keep up with the crowds.
Had a good time but machines and games kept running out of tickets and had to flag someone down to add more on numerous occasions. Overall atmosphere was nice, workers were friendly and accommodating.
It really is huge lots of different games most games are 10 credits which means with the $100 package(500 credits) only last 2 kids about 30 to 40 mins got really expensive really fast. But all in all great place very clean and friendly.
Ralph at the escape room was so fun, funny, engaged, and charismatic. Aden at the arcade counter was very informative and patient. The maintenance guy that had to replace the battery in our door was so helpful and quick and kind with our nosey four year old.
StepmaniaX cabinet is in very good shape! It's online with the content filter TURNED OFF! Calculated cost is around $2-2.40 per play, or $1-1.20 a song. Not too bad considering how stupidly expensive this game usually is to play. Highly recommend giving it a shot for any rhythm gamers in the area!
All of our first escape rooms ever! Family of 5 ( kids 4, 7, and 8) had a lot of fun. Age appropriate for all ages - everyone was able to contribute.
Today is 8/30th. All games shut down. Couldn't play a game as if 11 p.m. yall state game room closes at. 12 midnight. Yet, all games are shut down at 11 pm all that needs to be done is update the times stated on Google. then it would be 5 stars... great variety of games and still open pretty late
Cool new games, big, large prize selection, right next to small restaurant. Area where you pay for mini golf/laser tag is badly understaffed, waited about 35 min in line because one worker was swamped with customers. Mini golf is too small and underwhelming. Smell from the water park is quite potent, could probably use a cleaning. Also the prize counter seems understaffed as well.
Nice selection of games. Does get crazy since indoor part of water emtpies into the space. I do say the ticket redemption machines are all stuff together. I think 4 with 2 or 3 sides to use. 3 of the sides were broke.
We had a great adventure in the Kalahari escape room. We did the dessert escape and loved the moving pillar! We would definitely recommend it ! We can't wait for the next one.
Pretty fun escape rooms family friendly. A couple things didn't work but nothing major was a lot of fun Alyssa B and Isaiah were awesome! Great customer service!
Amazing fun time.. Rob was a great help took the time out breakdown each packages and what they gave us and Made the family experience personal and I loved to see that 20/10 can't wait to come back again!
A little more straightforward than other escape rooms, you are guided on a single task at a time rather than having a lot going on at once. Still fun, good for families.
My kids had a wonderful time here. We will be back!!!
A lot of machines out if order at nights. Poorer value than usual at an arcade. A few fun ones at decent prices though. 8-10 bucks for a 3 min go on a weak VR is crazy.
My girlfriend and I came here for her 21st birthday and we decided to give the planet obscura a try & it was definitely worth it. it's something for the whole family or just you and a friend, i would definitely recommend it.
My family loves there arcade! There is so much to do! From mini bowling , laser tag, virtual reality, mini golf ,7d theater and tons of arcade games!! You can get 500 tokens for 100 bucks!
The escape room was a great experience with friends. Challenging but not frustrating. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Would recommend trying it out.
Me and two other friends did the planet escape room and had a blast! Definitely worth checking out while staying! The price was also reasonable
Bought 8 game cards for the family. They advertised VR play. Children were turned down for vr first night saying to small. Second night we were told they couldn't do a group vr that we were not only told they could do on cards if they were taller the first night but also a VR we did on the same game card the last time we came to the game room about a month ago. Kalahari we will be back to. Game room we will no longer participate in. Sadly we have 4 FULL CARDS that we can not use.
Very great place to take the kids I took three of them I did spend a lot of money and all we did was go to the video game area spent $400 in 5 hours?? it was fun though but it did hurt my feelings afterwards?? they do have a ton of games but it is very populated
Crowed as always. Zero covid prevention, sanitizing or social distancing. Don't be surprise if people bump into you, the stairs are very dangerous. I love 7D game, etc.
The room was extremely fun and very interactive. You really had to pay attention to everything or you won't get it. Very cool and we got through it!
The Vr arcade is a bit lackluster in its current state. But with some changes it could be a lot better. First off the controllers suck, I think switching to index controllers would be an excellent change. Valve index controllers have finger tracking, more input buttons, and the index controllers have thumbsticks which are neccessary for good VR. The headset cable should be loosened a bit so it restricts head movement less. Also ssd's would make loading faster. These small changes plus more games would make
Awesome fun escape room. Nice staff as well. Exceptional work from Alyssa B. at Kalahari!!! If your ever in Sandusky stop on by the arcade and play some of the escape rooms!!!
Awesome experience and a lot of fun for the kids.
A little more challenging then I thought tried it out with two kids and my partner (the kids had no patience lol) fun experience I would do it again!
Aura pulled 4 girls got dem numbers finna call em tonight
A little pricey, but my grandkids love to come here for a special treat every now and again. We are lucky to live in a neighboring town.
This was great but there is zero supervision by staff so the teenagers monopolize the machines and don't allow any of the little kids to have fun. Its almost dangerous the way they are running around with no one watching them
Very nice variety of fun games. There is something for everyone here. Any issue that was experienced was quickly resolved by the staff!
We always enjoy our visit to Kalahari and all of its attractions. Family had a great time and their VR attractions and escape rooms are good as well.
Lots of games, a bar nearby for adults. Has games of chance, VR games and a great photo area with a few different themes.
Its fun, standard arcade experience with a lot of games. There was a VR experience, escape room and a snack bar. It's a little expensive so be ready to spend but its worth it.
BEST ESCAPE ROOM EVER! This was such a fun experience for my first escape room! Friendly staff and a clean place! Wasn't too hard and wasn't too easy!!
An expensive way to spend some time after the water parks close, cool games that give tickets to get prizes. It gets crowded with people
Game prices are not fair kind of expensive I feel like if you are staying at the resort Kalahari that you should receive some sort of discount for their game room
Pandemic game room experience is basically the opposite of what the resort states. No capacity limits, no mask enforcement. But masks seem to be optional in all areas of the resort.
i followed the live stream from cedar couple at big arcade and it was so great to follow and Tyler is so helpfull such An amezing arcade game room
Awesome games. Please consider lowering your prices. You need a few hundred dollars for a family of 4 to truelly enjoy it.
I came here for vacation and Rob was such a great help! He went above and beyond to ensure we had fun. Awesome place.
We had a fun time trying to escape!! They did have some problems with card key. But over all good.
Pretty good escape room. Kind of easy, but I think the mechanical parts are tons of fun and well made! Staff is helpful.
Had an awesome time lots of games. Escape Rooms and Virtual reality things. If you get a lot of tickets you can get some awesome stuff
For my first time ever going to Kalahari I really enjoyed myself especially the game room I won a lot of tickets and went home with a lot of prizes will I be back yes sir indeed....
Lots of games, but the prizes are just sad and they cost so many tickets you can't possibly get anything remotely cool spending short of $250
Sometimes games won't work properly or dispense tickets, machines in disrepair, lots of children not being supervised. Used to be better
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
