The 1up Arcade Bar - LoDo

What a great place. Years ago, I brought a rock band here when bar hopping after their concert (Alien Ant Farm!). We had a great time then, and the place is still great. Returned for the first time in years to play some pinball, and it was great. They always get the newest machines, I was there for the release of King Kong pinball. Very cool, I will be back!

Retro arcade games and pinball, along with some old-school skeeball. A bar and video games? Yup, checking this out. The atmosphere can get loud with drinking and a digital jukebox. Had a good time watching a group of people trying to win a giant Mario doll. Worth it just watching that!

This is a bar. Walked into ten shots poured for a group then another round. Staff was friendly and we went to pinball tables. They are not setup correctly and more annoying is they'll take your quarters but if you need more you get tokens. They have some great titles just didn't play well. If you just want some drinks and novelty playing you'll have a good time. But if you think you'll have a good time playing these games if you're somewhat serious and love pinball stay away.

Went to play pinball. Lots of fun. Tons of games. A little hidden to find but definitely a place to find! Lots of people later in the day.

My ex-wife said this place sucked. So I had to check it out! It's great, good mix of retro and new. The bartender (neck tattoo and a support day drinking hat) was an absolute wonder and I haven't been treated that well in a while. Decorations are on point and obviously they've been keeping a good product going for a long time. Love to see people doing the model right.

The drinks were way over priced and incredibly sugary. When you change your money, they give you tokens not quarters. So I have a purse full of tokens because I put a 20 in. The staff was not very friendly. It definitely needs a good cleaning. But the selection of games was fantastic. Most of them appear to be working. The bathrooms were not kept very well, however.

Love that they have Robotron although the fire joystick is a bit ?sticky.? Have tons of pinball all fairly well maintained with typical pricing. Haven't eaten there or snacked so I can't comment on the food. Nice they provide a cooler of iced water and cups.

This place was a fun way to burn a couple hours. The drinks are fun premixed cocktails. The staff is friendly but feels like they are overworked. They have several of my classic games staples; Tron, TMNT, pinball, couple light gun games. They also had several 4 player pacman, which is great.You can put $20 in tokens on your tab (no less). The problem is that all the games take a single token and it's hard to go through that many by yourself. They do have a machine that does smaller denominations.

I always love visiting 1Up! We went on a Friday night after a Rockies game and it was very busy. We still were able to play all the games we wanted, just had to wait in line for some of them. Good selection of games and a lot of different kinds of pinball machines. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait too long to get drinks although it was hard to move around inside in certain areas. I personally enjoyed the Pac-Man machine which allowed 4 of us to play at once!

This worker ruined my experience. 1. Drinking on the job 2. on his phone the whole time 3. i noticed a machine was wobbly and when i let him know he laughed and then replied ?they're all wobbly bro?, then immediately went back in his phone. *photo attached for proof Other than that the games were classic and very fun.

My wife and I love this place. We enjoyed playing Pac-Man for hours and playing some pinball machines. This is a must when coming to Colorado. They also have twisted tea on tap

Great people great fun the place great my issue is what happened last night. I got forcibly removed for no reason and when security and a cop came to remove me, zip tied my wrists behind me, and walked me out. I hadn't even been there for long enough to buy more than a beer. Appalling.

I had such a fun time here! It was my first time at 1UP and I definitely had my $20-worth of fun. I spent a good chunk of time at the iconic Godzilla pinball machine. My friend and I enjoyed duking it out at the basketball hoops, although if you're unused to a crowd (everyone wants a turn with the hoops) looking while you're playing, I'd stick with another station. Had a great time here. Machines are are in working order. The fighting games certainly take alot of abuse from super wasted patrons. Nice beer and liquor selection. My favorite pinball machine was stranger things, but they have a-lot of amazing pinball and popular arcade. Cant wait to come back here on my next visit soon. Line to go inside was only a few minutes long. No cover charge.

Great service, staff was nice and when we accidents spilled a drink and cup they quickly came to clean it up and even offered a replacement. Don't put your drink on the slanted games, there are small drink ledges in between :) $20 for a bag of tokens wasn't bad and they lasted us a couple of hours. Even when they picked up and got busier we still have plenty of options for games. Fun place to have some fun cocktails and play some games!

Fun spot to kill time before or after a game at Coors Field. Great game variety and the drinks were excellent. Would definitely visit again.

Great place to have some fun, arcade games worked well and it wasn't too crowded on a Friday afternoon. I just think that the drinks were a bit expensive and we were told before even sipping it ?the drink has about two or 3 shots? as a fair warning or heads up in case we ask? Not sure but wife and I are lightweight because we don't drink really at all and with these drinks we felt nothing, despite that it still was a great experience ??

This place is a very cool video game arcade with lots of great old school games new school games and pinball machines I love to hear lots of great beer specials during their happy hour too

Great place for pinball and old school arcade games. It has a good selection of domestic beers (including Rainier which is a favourite of mine) as well as a good selection of 40oz beers as well. The staff were really friendly as well.

This place was suggested when we came into town. I am not disappointed either. It was well down memory lane with the arcade games. The pizza was good, too. The server was great!

We were happy to find a place to play some pinball near our Airbnb. They were cool with us bringing our 9 month old in until 6pm when it becomes adults only. Totally get it. The arcade seemed to be about 1/2 pinball 1/2 arcade games and the games take quarters or tokens at the same value. We had fun and would recommend spending an hour or two in there pumping quarters. Super fun arcade/bar for adults only! Every game is 50? or less. Most cost 25?. They have a lot of the popular old school games and a bunch of pinball machines. There is a pinball league night so I would avoid that night because then it's long waits. Drinks are a little on the expensive side but the games are so cheap it balances out!

This place is like Chuck E Cheese for gown ups. They have all sorts of old arcade games. The drinks aren't too badly priced and they have the best shots. The vibe here is really laid back, probably mostly mid to late 20s. They ID at the door so you can't get in without one. There's standing room but also seats for small and larger groups

Great spot if you want to relive your childhood memories! They have a good selection of beers and the staff are really friendly/helpful. The place can get crowded though so arrive early to make sure you spend the maximum amount of time playing games!

The male Bartender told me "the more you hold your credit card the more likely I am to ignore you." Terrible service, terrible atmosphere. I understand it's St Patty's weekend but there's a line between busy and rude he crossed. Not another dollar here

Fun, classic games, cold drinks, and a loud soundtrack just like an old arcade. There are a ton of arcade and pinball games and a handful of group games (Mario Kart and Pac-Man). It does get busy and seems small at first but there's room enough to wander and explore, and chill with friends in one of their large booths or other nooks. Great bar. Mar 2023

Super awesome and fun place to hang out with people and have some drinks or play arcade games. Plenty of cabinets and other games to choose from, including jenga, house of the dead and frogger. They have a decent beer and alcohol selection too. A great place to spend your quarters for sure

What a great basement dive to relive the 80s/90s (with the potential exception of including a full service bar. That might not have gone over as well with a room full of minors back then...) The selection of games covers many classics and are both console and pinball with a few other types thrown in. The bar brew and drinks are higher quality but you still could possibly find PBRs here. Great place to just be and live in the moment.

Female bartender on Saturday night obscenely overcharged me. The shots were $5. I ordered two doubles. $20 right? WRONG -- she charged me $36. I would appreciate a response from management.

Great beers on tap, dark and cozy... And beer holders!! Almost all games are 25 to 50 cents and we had a blast on a holiday weekend before heading to dinner. Definitely recommended!

Visiting Denver, I saw 1Up Arcade and Bar nearby. Curious, I checked out its website, which will show you what games are available once you choose a location. I was completely hooked when I saws CarnEvil and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker! These are two ultra rare units so I was very excited to play them again after literal decades. We went to 1up on a Saturday night; it wasn't super busy but the arcade space isn't huge compared to the other locations. There was no wait at the bar and it was easy enough to navigate the crowds despite groups standing around in the middle of the floor. There is an ATM that will change your cash into tokens (NOT quarters) and you can add a $20 bag of tokens into your tab at the bar if you don't have cash, so they've made it super accessible to play. The games themselves are in varying states of condition

Place is poppin, with an entrance befitting a fancy club. Outside area is awesome, with the requisite giant jenga. Skee ball is always a plus, too! Solid variety of games and dope drinks, a must for a night out in the area.

If you are feeling going back in time to have some arcade fun, this is it. Tons of games from the old days to enjoy. There's the worlds biggest Pac-Man game there. Its really cheap too - 25cents to 50cents.

This place is always an absolute blast. Whenever my wife and I go out on a date night downtown whether that be a sporting event or a nice dinner. This place is always on our plan of places to go. Bartenders are extremely friendly, games are a blast, and they do a good job with security. Some people were starting to get rowdy and start fighting and security was quick to get them out before it escalated. Stopped by for happy hour (on Sunday) and had a blast. Happy hour primarily offers a variety of cheap shots. There's also a good variety of games there, which are generally well priced. At other arcade bars around I'm hard pressed to find games for 25?, but there were quite a few here.

Awesome environment & vibe. They provide so many arcade games & pinball machines of course. Love that the center bar provides beer from local breweries. Staff was nice and even let my friend taste some beers. I didn't run into any broken machines which was a plus. I highly recommend stopping by.

If you ever played in an arcade in the 90s, you have to come here for the nostalgia. They have Area 51, House of the Dead, X-Men, The Simpsons, Michael Jackson Moonwalker, NBA Jam, and many many others. Most games are a quarter, the pinball games are all two quarters.

We went on our way to a Rockies game. We had 2 children during the afternoon and they wanted to stay instead of going to the game. They have cool pinball machines and arcade games (Punchout, Paper Boy, and life size Pac man) for only $0.25 to $0.50. We ordered food and drinks for 4 ppl and had a few mixed drinks for under $67.00. The lady and man at the bar were so friendly! We will always come back here when we come in town. Aesthetically it was a dope bar, lots of stickers and graffiti. Shots were pricey and the drinks were decent. It was a cool experience and the pinball machines were so much fun!

This place made me feel like a child all over again. I hate that we found this place right before we move. Please please open one in Colorado Springs!!!! They have a large selection of games from the 80 on up, that will bring you right back to your childhood. What more could you ask for?

Perfect blend of dive bar and barcade. Un-pretentious, fun and good beer list. Some of the game pads were a bit sticky (it's a bar...), but it didn't wreck the evening. We stuck to the pinball side, but the arcade games were plentiful. Busy but not overly packed.

Sooo fun with great vibes and fun employees. Only wish there were more Mario cart machines as there were lines for them. They have atms and change machines to use the arcade games. Older arcade cabinets (like Michael Jackson?s Moonwalker!) and the biggest Pac-Man screen in the world (floor to ceiling) this place has decent cabinets. Too loud, too rowdy, kinda felt unsafe. Saw a bartender serve a dude that was already WAY too drunk, they eventually got kicked out. Got the impression that the games weren't regularly wiped down. Kinda got the ick being in there. One of the machines took our money & there wasn't anyone to help. Great concept, but was overwhelmingly noisy & packed with sloppy drunk college folks.

Trashy. The staff at this establishment are awful, the woman bartender was overwhelmed and performed poor service. Also the security was not accommodating to us when we had an issue with a homeless man harassing us. This place gives 1up a bad rep. If you want to have a good 1up experience, go to the location on colfax. The staff there are amazing and there's more than double the games to choose from!

Unlike other barcades I've been to this one seems to try to profit more off games sales than booze. Things like pinball cost a dollar to play and there seemed to be only a few group games so it's a great place to drink alone or with one other person. Limited beer menu unless they just didn't have others publicly posted.

Cool place to kill some time. The games are pretty cheap and the drinks are what you'd expect to pay being downtown. The bathroom however does smell atrocious. Kinda what I'd imagine what a gallon of concentrated piss would smell like.

Apparently the world's largest Pac Man is a thing, and it's as fun as it sounds. The bar staff is always very quick for a crowded venue, and the shots are flowing for a decent price! Most fun on a week day or earlier in the day before it gets too crowded to play games, but even when it's busy, the wait isn't too long for games.

They just opened so people might have missed this. It's a great place for food or drinks before or after a show at the Summit Music Hall.

I was only there to pass a little bit of time before heading to the airport. So I didn't have any think to eat or drink. And it was pretty dead at that time, so I can't give an opinion on either of those things. But I think they had a nice variety of arcade style video and pinball games. They even had a couple of skee ball games.

Great place to grab drinks and play a few games. Usually packed with patrons but the vibe is usually good and people are having fun and cutting loose. Game selection is decent with the majority being older games like Tetris/Turtles/Galaga/Simpsons and a big row of pinball machines. Have fun!

Lots of fun, especially for a 40-something who played these games back when they were new. Could use some cleaning, but on their defense they might have been hit hard by the busy weekend crowd too. Set the high score is Galaga, so that counts for a win.

Fun! Throwback to the 80s. We loved this place on our visit to Denver. Lots of good pinball machines and classic video games like Pac-Man, Galaga and Frogger. What?!?!? Games are inexpensive to play and they have a full bar. This is an adults playground. Definitely a hidden gem in downtown Denver.
