This is mainly for little kids. It's heavy on ticket games, from the traditional (skee-ball) to carnival staples (down the clown) to gambling addiction (coin pusher) to the truly bizarre (beer pong without the beer?you haven't seen anything until you've watched a six-year-old play beer pong). There are a few claw machines, too. We were able to drag out a few rolls of 250 tickets. For older players, it's got plenty of racing games and shoot ?em ups. But my favorite was the Street Fighter cabinet. It was one
Not very good. . Some games don't work at all .. while others barely work or some buttons are broken so the kids can't play it. Not very good arcade. Would recommend going to a different one?. not to mention the added bonus that half the games are not even in English so you have no idea how to play the game because you can't understand the directions
We rented the party room. We even got the discount online. It was cheap, and the staff was very nice. BUT? it was SO hot. If the AC was on it was barely working. And the party room was borderline uncomfortable. And then the cost of games, what.. the.. heck? 0.90 for a claw grab game? We thought $10 per kid would be plenty? nope! I would not host a party here again
This place is a really classic place, but last time I went some games were not working properly so yeah and I kinda miss the old vibe from games from the 2000s. But I still like this place, nickel Mania is Probably the one I like going more because it's cheaper and it's maintained well.
We took our family to the Nicklecade. Each of our children my husband I bought cards lock and loaded for a friendly family competition! We had a blast!! The games are far cheaper and very reasonable priced. Service was good.
I enjoyed the claw machines, unlike some other arcades you have a decent chance to come away from them with a prize. The staff is always engaging and polite. It's a great place to take a date or the family.
Most of the games were not working, staff seemed to be more on their phones and pointing and laughing at customers then really doing their jobs. I used to love going to the one in Riverdale, but sadly since it closed this was the closest option. I took my kids to reminisce old times and share that joy, but you don't even use Nickels anymore, now you load up a game card and lose more money on games that don't work properly, or don't pay out what you win with tickets. It Is sad that the owners don't seem to c
Good game options, the games were sometimes a little difficult or mature for kids. They didn't have basketball, which would be a nice addition. Prices were great though.
We had a fun time at the Nicklcade. It felt like the games where priced higher then the should be. I was happy they had a pinball machine. Those are the best. For us $10 per person lasted maybe 2 hours. Note to management please reduce the volume of the Fright Fear Land clown game. It was so loud it overpowered all the games around it ruining the experience.
We have been going to this location for a while. I noticed that they recently changed machines around and rearranged the whole building. I really like this new set up! The employees are so wonderful every time we go. This is such a fun activity for the kids and cheap. I did notice that there were a few machines that were out of order unfortunately but there were plenty others to play with so it made it worth out time.
Games selection was poor. No game was a nickel most over 50 cents. Ski ball was 55 cents. A bunch of broken games. Games to win ticket set on hard. Staff was nice. Spent over $30 in less than an hr.
This place is crazy expensive compared to other arcades. Me and the kids played on 20$ and it was about 30 mins. At nickle mania we played on $30 for almost 3 hours. Theres only like 25 games and 10 of em are broke. The employees are nice but this place doesn't have much to offer at all.
We had my 6 year old?s birthday party here on 1/20/25. The kids had a blast. The mystery prize bags were a big hit with the ticket redemption and the workers were super nice and helpful. I would definitely do a party here again. As a useful hint, though, there's a reason the party limit is 20. The party rooms are not huge. Our party of 20 was kinda squished in there.
Amazing place really! It's old games are working excellently and the new ones too! They are always looking for new ways to move stuff around and have fun. The only downside is the fact it's in a sketchy area and some games were broken
We had a blast! I saw posts on here about machines not working, but there was only 1 not working when we went and there was 2 of the same machine so it wasn't an issue to me. The staff was very accommodating.
I was a little disappointed that there were no pinball machines... But skeeball and the claw machines were fun. I like the card system that also saves your tickets so you do have a wad of paper in your pocket. The workers were very nice and friendly.
Feels like taking a time machine back to the 80?s! All the games we grew up playing. Employees were nice and helpful! Would definitely recommend for a birthday party! Kids had fun and it was a cheap outing.
Good ole Nickelcade. Been coming here for years. The atmosphere certainly has improved. They've upgraded the machines to a card swipe. Prices are SO much higher which is why I give 3 stars. It's amazing how fast my money disappeared. This is not really a spend 2 hours place anymore. We used to entertain the whole family with a couple of cups full of quarters. Some of the upgrades also include a lot of violent games. I miss the old classic arcades. They had just a handful in the middle aisle. Air hockey wa
This place has went down hill. I have came here since I was a kid. The prizes are BAD and the games are NOT A NICKLE! We usually have a blast when we bring the kids. This time we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Our kids left bummed out and the prizes were way over priced in tickets as well. You're lucky to get a tootsie roll. For $60, go spend your money somewhere else.
Not very many games for younger kids to play. Can't earn a lot of tickets. The gal working was absolutely amazing though. I wish I caught her name.
This place is lousy. We go to Nickel Mania every Saturday with our daughter and the machines don't buy you much. At the end of $20 playing you will get 50 cents worth of treats. At Nickel Mania you get about $5 worth. The place is cleaner. I am not coming back.
We went expecting to pay a nickel for each game. We were disappointed that the game?s were more expensive. So games didn't work. Some were meh. Kids had fun despite it all.
Entertaining experience to its core. You can be here for a while playing with friends/family for a while with reasonable prices. There's a variety of prizes to choose from, definitely a top arcade to go to
Best staff, always friendly and kind. They alao have some of the best prizes and we love their mystery bags!
I'd GIVE IT A BIG FAT ZERO. SINCE CHANGE OF MANAGMENT THEY TOOK OUT THE HIGHER TICKET MACHINES. THERES QLOT OUT OF ORDER AND I WANT YOU TO LOOK AT HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE NOW FOR SIMPLE GAMES!!! DO NOT COME BACK HERE. IT IS NOT FOR FAMILIES OTHER PLACES ARE WAY CHEAPER NOW. Look at my pics before deciding to go. Not the place we remember sadly.
The service I received from this place was terrible, and its manager was somewhat to blame. I recommend that you train your staff and implement safety procedures to ensure no one else has a bad experience like I did. Do better!
Very nice staff. Kind of small compared to the West Jordan one. One of the party rooms smelled like a sewer line, though.
If I could give them no stars I would this place is horrible now it is no longer nickels and the place is ghetto and trashy. Chucky cheese is a steal compared to This place. Never again. Trash trash. Not a nickel they give you a card and games are like 35 cents for the toddler ones.
$3.00 a person to get in and games there are pricey. They didn't have any pinball machines. I prefer Nickelmania instead. It is $2.50 per person to get in and more options of games and they have tons of pinball machines.
The person working there on Thursday was AMAZING! She made it such a welcoming and fun experience for me and my family! Definitely coming back!
The place is nice enough; compared to other nickelcades, it is clean, the staff was nice, and the entry fee wasn't horrible at $3.00, but the issue is that for the price of each game, $10 doesn't last very long which would not be a big deal if all of the games worked properly, but a lot of them have some sort of issue.
It was fun and everything but some of the arcades need maintenance.
I gave it a four because some of the games were working other than that great place to spend time and fun with younger kids well even teenagers have fun and adults too it's just a great all-around fun place.
Fun but getting more expensive miss when you u had to Cary u cup of nickels around and have to turn in ur tickets now it all on a card but does make it easier to play
We came over Thanksgiving(coins), great! Here today after Christmas(no coins, cards). This place sucks! Most games are min .35 when they were .15 before. SkeeBall is .45? For one game! Very disappointed in this place! Can't say we'll be back anytime soon!
This place is a dump. The majority of their arcade games are in poor shape and don't function correctly. Gone are the days of 5 to 15 cent arcade games. Most of the games cost at least 30 cents. Why even call it Nickelcade when the games are nowhere near a nickel? This place use to be an affordable source of entertainment. It's disappointing to see a place that I used to love so much go so far downhill. The owners of this business have allowed their greed to ruin something good. It won't be long until they
We took my daughter here for her birthday 2 weeks ago. I was sad it wasn't like the location in Sandy, but the woman there helped us out a lot and even made us feel welcomed. Thank you for your hospitality! She deserves 5 stars too.
Pretty pricey considering it's a ?nickel arcade? it's 3$ admission and the games all cost minimum .35 cents to a dollar for one play and the games are very limited and jackpots are low. When we went to use our tickets they had two employees at the front chatting, one sitting not paying attention and another girl with a buzzcut would occasionally look but had no urgency to help us before we asked them if one of them could help us. If you want to go to a cheap arcade with fun, inexpensive games and good staff
You need a card for most of the games. Some take nickels. There is a 3 dollar entry fee in addition to whatever credits you buy. It was a fun visit overall.
Great staff! way better than the nicklemania on state. I'll drive a little extra to come here instead when my son wants to play games
There aren't many good classic titles here, mostly just gambling machine and modern cast offs. These machines aren't really fun. Also surprised by the sheer number of broken machines on the floor! Half of the skeball machines were broken. TMNT only had ONE freaking controller working. And the air hockey machines were eating pucks up left and right. Not to mention, many of these machines expect 4-5 nickels per play. Also known as a 'quarter', which makes this less of a nickelcade and more of a arcade.
Lots of fun for a sons birthday however on Saturday June 29th the AC wasn't working so it was incredibly hot not only in the arcade but in the party room as well.
It's a pretty mediocre nicklecade. About 10 of the 50+ machines were broken or out of service. The place is a bit run down, and it feels kind of dirty in there. The staff were quite helpful and upbeat, though, which I very much appreciated. When a busted machine took our money they were quick to reimburse us. Had a good time. But if it felt cleaner and didn't smell so weird (it kinda smells weird in there) then I would quickly move my eating up to a 4.
Had a great time with a few of my friends here. It's a little more pricey than it's been in the past with a lot of the games ranging from $0.37-$0.55 tickets seemed a little difficult to win in the large amounts needed to buy the prizes unless you were good at the claw machines. Overall it's a pretty fun trip if you're willing to spend 10$ on an arcade.
Ever since they changed to cards and not nicles every game is attest 0.35$ now (7 nicles) instead of when they had nicles being 1 to 3 nicles each very sad and expensive they even still have stickers saying the old 5 cent prices while charging ten times that literally right next to it with the new card swipe things not to mention half the games are busted and don't even work but have this brand new bright glowing brick that takes your money
It's fine. The other ones around the valley are substantially better. Half the machines are janky/kind of broken. Seems more for older teens than littles. The staff was very attentive, so A+ to them. Just seems a bit overpriced compared to what you get at the others.
My kids enjoyed this place works was very greatful.
Have no clue why it's called Nickelcade when nothing is a nickel & basic games are 35-45 cents. My daughter scanned her card and was charged 45 cents for the small claw machine and there wasn't even enough prizes in the machine for the claw to reach any of them lol. The smell of this place was revolting and all the machines were overpriced. The machines barley gave any tickets to get any prizes. They charge an entry fee even for the adults who aren't playing anything. This place has gone downhill big time.
It's ok but nickle mania is bigger and has more games
Great prices. They keep up pretty well on the maintenance of games. We've been coming here for years and my kids love it!
I have so much fun their. They have improved so much. It used to be depressing and had a bad smell. Now, all their games work, it smells better and they have better staff. The games work and of course, some of them are rigged. But if you go. You will have fun. Make sure that you don't go on the weekend. It gets really packed and their are game hoggers. The week days are best.??
Dude it cost 19 nickels to play a game 95 cents. It's was always a good place to take kids but you mine as well take them to a family place we're you eat and play games mine and my kids cards were drained very quickly. Also I noticed it was very hard for younger kids to know if they had credits and one of the smaller younger children swiped there card and was so confused by the system. Nickelcade ain't the same love g great experienced I've always had there
I haven't been to this arcade in 15 years. I live in Ogden and I traveled out here with my son because it was the only arcade open on Sunday. We had a great time here. Wish they had more pinball but at least the one they have is a really good one.5 stars for being open on Sunday
The staff was helpful and one girl in specific was super friendly to my niece. She boosted her confidence a lot when she was playing one of the games. There was lots of arcade options and fun music playing. It was a great place to take my niece and nephew. Very family friendly, and cheap!
Had my granddaughter?s birthday here. This place has gone downhill the Games are expensive. In the 2 hours we spent here Nobody got tickets on any of the Claw machines. They used to have a nice little snack bar here, Not anymore. I think the cheapest game was 35cents which isn't bad. Most of the games cost around $1.00 we won't be going back here . I would recommend going to nickel Mania.
I was looking forward to visiting this favorite childhood place. Compared to other places I've been, the entrance fee was higher, 90 percent of the machines did not work properly(couldn't read coins going in, key buttons didn't work) Each game to play costs significantly more expensive to play. Many games were mislabeled on how many nickels it cost to play. However they may have given a few more tickets and that was nice if you want tickets. This place is smaller and has less games to choose from.
I love arcades but this place is trash. Aside from a standard entrance fee, the only reason its affordable is you pay what you play. This arcade has a horrible selection of games. Many of the games are out of order or malfunctioning in some way. The staff seemed irritated as I approached them multiple times to fix their games which were eating my nickels or not given tickets. Another frustration is that prices on most games were not marked. It was all around the worst arcade I have ever been to. Simply put,
Had a fun family day and chose to go here. Not too bad. No food so eat before u get there. Soda machine was broken so that sucked. But the games were fun ***love skiball*** and racked up enuf tickets to get a mechanical puppy that barks. (Honestly it is creepy.. green eyes and red light up tail) but it was fun for a random fun day outing with the family.
Priced well, staff who helped us was great, about 1/3 of the machines were out of order. Decent selection of games, though more 4 player games would be nice. Didn't feel too dirty. Just wish they'd better service their games. Literally of the 4 skiball lanes they had, only one was working. Grew up with this place as a kid. Still love it.
My kids always enjoy this place. Plenty to keep them entertained. My observations as an adult, there are always a handful of games not working, and I wish there were more high ticket earning prizes. This establishment currently still uses actual coin insertion and physical tickets but say it will be upgraded soon.
They took out alot of the old games and charge more for each game
Cool place and not too pricey to spend an hour or two. They have games for the smaller ones and the older kids. Obviously the prizes are mostly dollar store toys, but the fun is playing the games!
My 9 year old daughter is rating it a 4/5 stars. Her reason is that she played some fun games that had ticket dispensers, but they didn't dispense any tickets, so that was disappointing for her. Also, they didn't have the prize in stock that my daughter wanted. Overall fun time though. We won over 1000 tickets. I would take the family there again.
Who doesn't like a cheap night to play arcades games and get cheap prizes? My kids love it and it's a fun night. It had been a while since I last went. Now all your money goes on a card that you swipe at each game. Makes it a lot easier, so you don't have to hold a cup of nickles and your tickets. Just a card that keeps track of your tickets. If you still want to play the coin drop games, you swipe your card at a machine for a dollars worth of nickles.
It's not crowded ever, and that's because the games are ridiculously priced. So expensive.
Was pretty cool. Now instead of using clumsy bags of nickels they use refillable cards. The cards save your ticket points. It's all very clean now. Most of the games (other than the gun shooter games) are all working. The employees seem to actually enjoy working in an arcade. Took my 7 year old and we had a really good time for around 26 bucks.
I used to love this place as a kid. It was a dream come true. It's kind of sad that I came here as an adult with high expectations and was so severely let down. First, not every game is just one nickel. In fact, most require 3 or 4 nickels per play. Sure, that's better than a quarter like at most other arcades, but the difference between my expectations and what I got was pretty sad. Second, they have plenty of stickers that say "please let us know if any of the games are broken", but that system doesn't
I'm giving it two Stars because the staff was super helpful. The place needs some major updates. Many of the machines don't work, the ones that work quickly run out of tickets. It should probably be in a larger area to have greater variety of games for kids. The place is filthy and the machines are dirty. I mean you can see cobwebs and dust. Unless it's completely refurbished I will not be going back there.
Nickelcade with no Nickels? Doesn't seem right all the mechanisms for Nickels are still on the machines are being overridden for a money card system and the money cards just don't seem fun or accurate when your buying them especially when the girl selling them to you acts like she hates life your supposed to be excited when people walk in the door to game not a great attitude, the other issue half the machines are not getting regular maintenance no basketball shooting games the jackpot game where you try to
Used to go here when I was younger and I'm so upset. We mentioned going to the nicklemania to the employees and a guy there was like "we give mo re e tickets" and we got excited, but our money lasted minutes, some of the games in there are so expensive! Almost everything was doubled in price and there's a game in there that has a promise of high tickets that you don't realize a swipe is a whole dollar till after you did it a couple times. The machines didn't seem to actually give more tickets and items on t
We went to celebrate my granddaughter's 8th birthday. The kids had fun. However dealing with the female manager was a nightmare! We had a party of nine, that I paid for, however my pregnant daughter-in-law was late joining us and the manager refused to let her in saying she had to pay the $2.25 entrance fee and then called her a nasty name! Both of my sons went up to the desk and said we had paid for nine people, but the manager insisted that they had counted all of our people who had come in and it was nin
It is cheap, and a lot of fun, but you get what you pay for. The place is always a little bit dingy and smells faintly of wet diapers. My daughter loves coming here, but today she might have changed her mind. She hit the jackpot on one of the games and should have won several hundred tickets...the game did not give out anything. An employee saw this and said that she must not have actually landed on the jackpot, though you could plainly see she had.
Great little arcade good bang for your buck.
I wish i read reviews before coming here...Literally never go here. Spent 90$ in 1 hour, half the machines are out of order, many just steal your money without any notice, you can't call it a nickel cade if you don't have or use any nickels.. go somewhere else, anywear but here, unless you wish to waste money and a fleeting experience... sorry, but this place use to be cool, now.. not so much.. maybe they will change someday
High touch points, obviously. But it just feels dirty. Doesn't smell especially good either. But my kids love it! And it makes for a pretty cheap outing. They almost always have coupons too. Skee ball is my favorite and the 2 person video game where you shoot aliens (super retro).
Most of the games were operating. And if there was an issue the staff was very helpful. It didn't take too long to get help and the staff really cared. (even the young ones) they even had a section of classic games that were free to play. I actually had more fun with those then most others. Also it was very clean. Like. Fresh carpet clean.
A lot of the machines were a ripoff, we spent a decent amount of money. We didn't get the tickets or the game was broken and not marked. They ate our money. Feel lucky I'm giving 3 stars I had a lot of fun with my boy and for that I gave three
This was a fun place to visit with the kids.
I went here with my friends and I sure did enjoy coming back here after like 5 years and boy have the games changed some take money which not every arcade game always it perfect some out of order which you see in an arcade and you so many family's having fun like most people did. And the prizes are a lot of tickets if you play the right games you can get a lot of tickets to go and get almost anything and yes some of the stuff cost a lot of tickets but then how do you think this place makes money and yes the
Took my roommates 6yr daughter there for about an hour. She won 603 tickets on the coin drop game. She was so excited and happy. It was kinda aggravating that only 1of the ticket counting machines was working, all n all she had a good time and it didn't cost a lot of money.
Most the machines worked, we went through the week and it was very slow but exciting! Definitely family friendly and fair prices, highly recommend, only downfall I saw was some lack of more games/rides. Tickets were semi hard to get, but the ticket counter and customer service was great ??
Place had a weird smell like the other reviews mention. A good chunk of the machines were out of order. Had multiple machines give less tickets than were won, and got tired of trying to get nickles back if the machines ate them. Overall it wasn't a horrible way to waste a few hours because it was so cheap for admission and games.
Though this is a very fun place to go and a very cheap arcade, I would not recommend going there. The last time I went, all of the employees were rude, the whole place smelled like a mix of cigarettes and urine and only about 10 of the games worked. It's nice that it's cheap and still has the traditional arcade method with coins and tickets, but if you don't care about that I would recommend going to the nickel-mania in Midvale. It is way better than this one.
I went here for my nephew's birthday and actual had a great time! It was really crowded there but they had plenty of games to keep everyone busy! Staff was alright. Hit and miss depending on who was helping you, but overall, a very friendly and fun experience.
Half of the machines do not work, if you are not playing you still have to pay to get in, tickets are not easily earned and the gift toys they have for ticket trade are out dated and extremely cheap. However, children do not care about the quality of their small treasures and the few two players games that work are enjoyable. The photo makes the carpet seem more vibrant than it is, it is an old building. Still cheap fun, good for broke people like me ??
used to be me and my boyfriends favorite place, i was so excited to use the tickets and nickels, to find out that they were gone and replaced with cards was heart breaking, not only the fact that the cards were being used, more than 1/2 the games were broken. all the employees were very rude. i will not be coming back.
We loved going here. It's a tradition whenever we have a baby I take the other kids while mom is in the hospital. Sadly it is breaking down. The air tables don't work and the Skee Ball kept stopping. The whole place just feels dirty/messy. Several of the games last 20 seconds. Not worth the increased cost of $0.35 per play. I understand inflation cost and the negative side of increased minimum wage. But can't you make the game last 10-20 seconds longer. Or let each play be two tries on some of the simple ga
If you can get past the smell of throw-up at the entrance this place is fun and cheap. I'm a child of 90's arcades and this is the closest I have to reliving the golden years of Arcades. You can tell they don't care to repair or maintain the machines, but there is some charm to that. Will this machine take my nickel and not give me a credit? Will this skeeball have any balls in it? How many hands have touched this joystick? The place is one huge chance game. Speaking of change games, it seems that this is w
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
