Tappers was nostalgia in a bottle. So many classic arcade games that instantly brought me back to my childhood. Games are free to play with a beverage purchase. Beverages have fun names related to various video games and pulp culture references. The layout of the facility is easy to navigate as the games are spaced out in a ring around the bar with custom wooden tables for your drinks between each machine. It is great to play vintage arcade games. We host an annual group meeting here and bring in our own food. The bar is fine and the games are a lot of fun.

So I don't know if they serve food but it's not needed here. Had about 45 mins to kill and this place is the spot. Game playing is free except for pinball playing. We enjoyed our time there it was a good vibe with friendly service. It's a spot I'll stop at again. " I'LL BE BACK" in my Arnold voice.

There are a few of these types of places popping up. This one is a phenomenal concept. They have some game systems set up with more contemporary games, a ton of old school, and then there is pinball. Sorry no Mappy as of the writing of this review. Beer? They got it. Plenty to chose from. Come by yourself. Come with friends. Whatever, but this place is top notch. Pinball is not free.

Loved this bar. Most games, other than pinball machines, are free. The drinks are fairly priced with a great craft selection and a nice selection of cocktails. Hand sanitizer at multiple locations. Drink stands to place your drink down with you while you play games. Areas to sit and chat. Plenty of room here for larger groups.

Tappers is a good place to go for some adult fun. My husband & I went & we had a great time. Everyone was nice & the place was clean. There were plenty of games to choose from. They do have a one drink minimum, alcoholic & non-alcoholic are available. All the games, except the pinball games, are free. Parking along the street is free.

Terrible drinks and service. Ordered an ?old fashioned? - turns out it's a pre mix, okay that's fine except it tasted really bad. Bartender said she had to charge me, couldn't give me something else, not even a beer instead. Asked the manager and she still said no. I immediately closed my tab and will not be coming back. Place is awesome. Free play on arcade games and $1 for pinball. They have all the newest stern pinballs! Not super busy one a Friday night and had a blast with friends.

Very fun atmosphere with good beer! They have a great selection of pinball games plus all the classic games are FREE! Really hard to not have a good time at this unique arcade bar in Indy.

We went right when they opened on Saturday afternoon. The bartenders were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. They have an excellent selection of games to play all of which are included as long as you are drinking except for the killer queen and pinball games. The cocktails are ok. Lots of fun! In Indianapolis for business and had this place recommended by a friend who used to reside here. I could spend a week here, drinking and playing classic arcade games. They also have retro systems, craft beer, premixed cocktails and pinball machines (which are the only ones that you need quarters for) Lastly the service was friendly and quick, overall amazing experience

They have been open for years and I have come to them for good fun and arcades... good functioning machines. They are passionate about their place. Way better than pretentious place like 8 bits. Snappp.

Tappers was a fun way to spend a bit of extra time near Lucas Oil Stadium. Lots of arcade games to play (everything is free except the pinball machines), tons of different drink options.

Freaking great time! Had 6 out of 7 games my Dad had in our basement when I was a kid! Good drinks and bartender. Would recommend going to take a trip down memory lane to all raised in the 80's!

I truly appreciated the extra effort to be understanding and kind. Customer service and problem solving could be better but we can all be little gentler with each other.

Wow. As a kid growing up loving arcade games this place has it all. Mostly beer a few cocktails. But games ohhhhh my it's has original Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, NBA Jam Tournament Edition, Killer Instinct, Tron, Ghost and Goblins, Defender, Burger Time it even has Punch Out and it has plenty of Pinball machines. Great place to have my first legal drink. The arcade machines are very cool, and all work very well. They have spots to set your drinks down on the sides of the arcade machines, which is a very nice touch. staff is quite friendly and very knowledgeable about the machines, and the drinks were very good.

Tons of classic arcade and video games with a whole aisle in the back dedicated to pinball. Great used of space and relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Drink quality and price is on par is other arcade bars in the area. Great tasting craft beer.

This is best barcade in Indy. That said, for a place called "Tappers" it had a somewhat limited selection drafts. Plenty of IPA's if thats what you like though. Great collection of pinball games.

My Happy Place! Tappers has always been great to go to and revive some arcade memories and play pinball (new and old)! I do not drink alcohol, so I do not have any insight on the drinks, but the fountain soda is a good mixture I must say. They are never pushy on making sure you order something, it is very relaxed and I've only met friendly people there.

Indy is so lucky to have this place. It's absolutely an arcade with great drinks and passionate staff NOT a bar full of drunk bros that has arcade machines. The place is exceptionally clean and machines are well maintained. Fun trivia and other events too. Definitely check it out.

Mt husband and I Took my 25 yr old son there. Great place for all ages with a wide variety of fun arcade games.

Amazing arcade bar with no cover charge. All the games are free. They have many arcade cabinets such as burger time, Q*bert, Centipede, Tron, Tappers, Mortal Kombat, Joust, etc. They also have a few pinball machines (these you do need to pay for) Luckily they have an ATM and a coin machine. Only downside is that they only take debit or credit, not cash. It isn't really a big deal though. Love this place. The ambiance is chill and their music choice is always great. The staff is super friendly and helpful!

Best arcade bar in Indy! It is clean and I like that while there is a variety of games, it also has enough space to not feel crowded. The drinks are unique and yummy. Make sure to bring ones for the games, the bar will give you change but it makes life easier if you bring your own. Over all wonderful experience!

First off, the bartenders are so patient and nice. I only had cash And it was $100 And one of the bartenders went into the back to get me changed personally. I know it was an inconvenience because of the amount of people that were there for that weekend, but I greatly appreciate their hospitality and their great location where all games are free except for pinball and that was amazing to experience. Will definitely go back again.

A fun place with a chill nostalgic vibe. Good spot to grab a few drinks with friends and play some pinball and other games. The arcade space was much bigger than I'd thought since it rolls around to the back. You're bound to find some game you enjoy.

Fantastic free to play retro arcade (with a purchase, doesn't have to be an alcoholic beverage). Great spot for those who love retro gaming including game consoles. The pinball machines do require you to pay for each play however.

Tappers is always a blast. Love that everything but pinball is free play, you just have to buy a drink. Their frozen drinks in the Capri sun bags are always a hit. Very few games are ever broken either. Can sometimes be crowded during peak times but never been horrible. Love their support of Pride month as well!

I love this place! Great drinks, great service, and a wide variety of Retro Arcade games. What more could you ask for!? I've been several times and will be back for more. Very busy on weekends, I might recommend going on weeknights for a more personal experience. Would give 5 Stars but I've dealt with a couple faulty controllers here and there on the main consoles like the Switch and Super Nintendo. But don't let that stop you from having a great time!

This place rocks! If you're an introvert like me and like video games this place is for you. They have so many games to play. All games are free except the pinball machines. The banana slushy drink is soooooo good. And the best game they have there is a SHREK PINBALL MACHINE. I literally only played Shrek, Frogger, and Q*bert. Such a fun place. Definitely my 2nd favorite bar now!

This location does not serve food, but the drink menu has something for everyone. The games are all free to play, except for the pinball. The game selection is good and I didn't come across any broken machines. If games are your thing, then you will like this place!

Love this place! Such a fun place to go solo or visit with friends. Has a 1 drink minimum. Games are free with the exception of the pinball machines. Tasty drinks. A few snacks available. Not a place to grab a meal. Love that there is a spot to place your drink/ purse next to every game. Hand sanitizer located throughout the building. Bathrooms are always clean.

I've been here twice; the first time I had an amazing experience - there were lots of games, the bar tenders were awesome, and the drinks were great. But the second time was a pretty bad experience - a lot of the games either didn't work well, or didn't work at all. I got a cocktail from the bar, took a sip and it wasn't very good. Tappers is rad! I love this concept of an arcade bar. They have a good selection of drink options as well as arcade games. The last time we went we saw they had expanded into an upper level accessed by a wide ramp. Though that day they were hosting a big screen gaming event and it was packed. So the availability to play all the things we wanted to was limited, but we still had a good time. Good for them for bringing the gaming community together.

Best bar in Indy!! I've been going here since they opened in 2016. The arcade machines are well-maintained (and free to play), beer is always fresh, and staff are helpful and quick. Most of the people you'll find here are also interesting and friendly. There's no kitchen here, I'm sure you can guess why. They also have a huge pinball section (not free, but still cool). This is pretty much the only bar I'll go to.

There's nothing about Freeplay retro video games, a party soundtrack, and local beer selection that won't have you saying "one more round".

So, it definitely captured the 80s arcade vibe. Games were fun. Pinball machine area was a bit crowded and the $1 per game price tag is a bit steep. Video games were generally 25 or 50 cents. Bar service was slow and drink prices were steep for the setting. That's said, it was definitely a fun night and my friends and I had a blast! *the response from the owner stating video games are free is great! Definitely offsets the drink prices.

Great selection and variety of games! We brought my sister here for her birthday and she had a lot of fun! I wish there was more than one racing game though. They have a good selection of beers, but I found it odd that the cocktails come out of a tap (they still tasted good). Lastly, they also don't sell shots which was disappointing since we were there for a birthday. Overall, good place to play some awesome games and drink some tasty beer.

Great place to play classic games. All games were functional and the layout was easy to navigate.

Really fun place! The atmosphere is chill and both times I've been it's not been that crowded. They have a good selection of games and an immense section of pinball which you do have to pay for. All other games are free. The music they played was lit and the decorations they had we're also really neat. I like the wide variety of games they had because if you didn't like something you could move on easily.

This is my number one spot! The beer list is always varied and interesting, the 60 arcade games are on free play, which is very unlike many other arcade bars in the country. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And on Tuesday nights they have a killer queen league night. Which is one of the best games ever and I love playing for a few hours, with my friends, and having a tasty beer. When in doubt, go have a tasty drink and play some games, you will enjoy it.

My driving partner brought me to this place, and we had a ball. If you enjoyed playing video games in an arcade setting as a kid, then you will enjoy this place. They serve alcohol and good sandwiches. They had all of the nostalgic fighting games that I enjoyed as a kid, and got to play them while having beers and cocktails. The best part is that most of the video games are FREE to play! You only have to pay for certain games on the upper deck. I had a good time at this place.

I went to Tappers Arcade Bar for the first time last night. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. The game selection is good. They had a few games down, but they're old arcade games - it's expected. I was very happy to see that they had domestic beer options along with a good list of craft beer. Edit: I wrote my review nearly a decade ago, but I find myself recommending Tappers. They offer alcohol, with other places don't. my favorite arcade in town (that goes to Boss Battle Games), but it's still a good time. The beer is the biggest upside. The downfall to it, which keeps me from going, to be honest, is the lack of space. It is always crowded and machines can fill up if they are the popular ones. Not to say I won't wait, but being elbow to elbow while waiting/playing is unfortunate.

This place is freaking fantastic. They have consoles hooked up to CRTs and arcade games that are free to play with drink purchases. Very clean, great part of town. I think the pinball machines are pay to play, but they have ~20 machines. This business model would do great anywhere!

I've been going here for several years! If you love older arcade games, pinball or playing video games in general, this is the place for you. Staff is always nice, always doing fun events, and the drinks are good. The drinks are a little pricey, but all games are free except pinball, so I think it's a fair trade off.
