Swaders Sports Park

Swaders Sports Park

Reviews Summary

Swaders offers a mix of experiences with polarized reviews. Many praise its variety of activities (go-karts, laser tag, arcade) and fun atmosphere, especially for kids' parties, though some staff receive compliments for being helpful. However, frequent complaints highlight broken equipment, poor maintenance, inconsistent service, and high prices. Issues like understaffing, long waits, and untrained employees are recurring themes. While some families enjoy repeat visits, others leave frustrated due to technical failures, overcrowding, or unresponsive management. The value perception varies—some find it fair for the entertainment, while others deem it overpriced for the quality.

This was my boys first time going and they really enjoyed it. They enjoyed the go carts so much we did them back to back! They said next thing they come, hopefully they will be able to drive on the rookie side by themselves. And of course they enjoy the arcade and kids zone. We will be back soon! ??

Experience 10 out of 10 had a birthday party for my daughter who turned eight Haley without hostess and she was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive she was very interactive definitely took care of all our needs we didn't want or need for anything definitely recommend 10 out of 10

No free refills, no drink cups, even for water. Food is... okayish. Staff is great, though. Don't come if you have sensory issues - the whole place is loud, from the kids to the games to the speakers. To the owner who responded: Yes, I can appreciate that. But charging $3+ for a drink and then not allowing refills is a little outrageous. But, your business, your choice. Again, on the plus side, the staff was great. Especially the young lady at the cafe counter. I didn't catch her name (too loud), but she w

Brought my daughter here for a day out, everything was great. We did the 4 attractions and arcade games.. thank god we did the arcade before the attractions and got some good experiences. We went to do the go karts and literally me and my daughter are getting thrown into the guard rails by this big adult thinking it's funny. After no one said anything we just pulled in and ended the drive. My daughter was clearly uncomfortable to the point she wasn't even enjoying herself because she kept getting rammed. No

A great family fun Destination. We did go here for under $100 for three. That includes three attractions each. I think it's a good value overall. We had blast and have been coming for years. For $33 a person you can get 1 go-kart ride which was fantastic, 1 laser tag, one put put golf and $10 in the arcade. That's a nice afternoon for the money. Laser tag is low key all ages yes your grandma can go, fun time. The food was good! The pizza, we didn't get but it looked amazing. The prices were great. Only it

Paid for an outdoor activity that being said the go karts and due to lighting my interaction with the manager Payton was not good. He did not want to address his workers fir their customer service issues and I asked to speak with him a second time in an effort to be refunded for and Peyton refused to come speak with me. DESTINY on the other had was GREAT under the circumstances

This place is amazing! It's huge. It has an arcade, a large kid zone, a laser tag arena, a batting cage, putt putt course, and a go cart track. It's about $10 per activity. You can spend the entire day here.

We have been coming to Swaders since my little one was 3 years old. The atmosphere is still the same. The pricing is much higher now, but you still get a good deal. They offer birthday parties and corporate events. You do have to pay for each attraction, which consists of bowling, the kids zone, go karts, and indoor batting. My personal favorite is the laser tag I had the time of my life as an adult. The food court is reasonable and they have a nice amount of options. The workers are always pleasant and I h

My grandson loves Swaders. The video arcade has a variety of games. The Jungle Gym really can tire them out, lol. It was an enjoyable experience with my grandson. We didn't eat, I've heard good thing though.

Everyone had fun !!! Everything there to do but the go carts are the best

Took forever to get food and often struggled to get attention from staff. The food was alright though, great fries. I went on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. Wanted to go kart and the kids running it ignored us (the only two people in line) to talk and play on their phones. Paid 10 bucks for 2 waters and a slice of pizza. Service was terrible except for a girl at the counter. No wonder, it's just a bunch of underpaid kids running the place. We saw one adult worker. I wouldn't go again accept to walk aroun

My daughter and I chose to take my grandson there while he was visiting from South Carolina. We wanted to go somewhere that would be fun for a 12 year old boy, and he totally enjoyed himself. They both rode the go carts, while I held my grandbaby, watched them, and took pictures. They played games inside, and my oldest son, (my grandson's dad), joined us, and we all really enjoyed ourselves! As the mom, and grandma, I enjoyed watching them all play, and holding my grandbaby because she's not old enough to p

My family had so much fun today. I'm super glad we found this place. My daughter is only three and loved everything down to the laser tag. She said she can't wait to go back and play again.

My 2 kids were in line with only 3 other children and we waited well over 45 minutes for kids' go-karts. The 5 guys working the adult karts never even came over to acknowledge us or explain why our wait was so long. When one guy finally came over, he only allowed the 1st three kids on karts and made us wsit until the next round. Extremely disappointing experience.

It's been a few years since I last took my family here. So much has changed, and we had a blast! The games, the outdoor activities, and the food were all awesome. Can't wait to come back.

I don't know how I've never heard of this place. It's a fun place to go for families. The facility is well laid out with numerous things to do for all ages. Laser tag, driving range, mini golf, go carts, duck pin bowling, arcade, and a restaurant that has reasonable prices. We will be bringing our family back for sure. The employees were very friendly and everything was clean and covid compliant.

Okay so we got there. We got our stuff. We went did go karting first we were good. We went put putting for a little. Then we went to get a drink. The lady had no idea what to do and got us our orders mixed up. Then we went go karting again. Then we got to first in line and me and my bestfriend had done the same stuff and then they charged his card twice so we couldn't do go karting. Then they told his mom he was holding up the line and needed to get back. The manger was super nice but the little high school

Always a great time to take the family. They have go-karts, Lazer tag, batting cages, putt-putt, driving range and a play place for the little ones to enjoy. Not to mention all the acarade games!!

Place and atmosphere is great for kids. Kitchen staff needs training on sanitation. I watched them all not change their gloves while touching their hair, hats, cash register and then customer?s food? Disgusting! Please retrain

The batting cages jam constantly with no workers around to fix the problem. I've seen people standing around waiting for 10-15 minutes and then finally go clear the jam themselves. THEN an employee comes out and fusses at them. Maybe they should have someone come by every few minutes to make sure things are feeding correctly since this is a known problem? If they fixed this, it would be great.

Great place to go with family and friends. They have lots of fun activities to do so you're never bored. Arcades, bowling, laser tag, mini golf, batting, go karts and a play area for kids plus many more. I have to say I will be back even though I live far away.

So fun loved the Go-karts wish we could have done the batting cages more but some were broken and not working but hopefully next time. Overall a great time!

Our NY trip was altered, so we're staying in the area for the holiday. Guest services and my God Daughter recommended Swaders. It was the perfect spot for my Grandson's to blow off some steam. We even saw a fellow Youth Basketball player from Wake Forest, NC. Great location when visiting from Franklinton, NC.

I gave this place a 4 star, only thing I had a problem with was pretzel bites and only got 5 for $3.00 and they were undersized. Other than that, will be glad to bring my 5 year old grandtwins back.

Very nice and a fun place to visit with kids. They have lots of activities....visit for my nephew bday...came in town from hampton had a great time.

This place was totally sick! Tourists and strangers alike, please visit this place. This place had so much to offer. Go Karting, mini golf with friends/family, laser tag, etc. The prices were pretty affordable. Offer via military discounts, too. Me and a couple of guys went there and had one of the best times of our lives. I'm sure anyone else would too. There is food you can pay for as well as snacks, beverages and an Arcade. Worth seeing.

Went Saturday night and my toddlers had a blast on the jungle gym. Also loved the slushies. Didn't get to try the bowling for kids but we will be back since we got there late. They stay open until ten which is a plus. Good spot to get out with the little ones.

Even tho it was super busy yesterday, Becca took the time and care to address all of my families issues concerns and needs were meet, even tho the batting cages kept running out of tokens and mini golf ran out of balls and two hour wait. We will still be back and hope they address these issues and questions. Hope they keep the staff on hand because they made the day happen.

Went for batting practice at the cages, there's two for slowpitch softball, yet one is not working. Prices are great, $2 for 20 pitches, you can't beat that. However, those 20 pitches run off in less than two minutes. Pitching machines need calibration for both distance, ball barely gets to the actual cage, and timing, some balls come back to back. You can see in the video where I thought balls would be coming to, and where I had to move in order to hit the ball. I talked with someone using the baseball ca

Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. There's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. We've been several times, and have always had great experiences.

Pleasant atmosphere! Wasn't crowded at all! I didn't go on the weekend so I have no idea what it's like on the weekends. Games were fun. They have a young staff that were very respectful!!!

My kids had a great time here . It is very pricey 8$ each for the go karts laser tag and playground. The food was good :). Overall I would still return. The playground was a big hit to for them even my oldest.

Come on Swaders. This review is for the mini golf section. You should be ashamed to take people's money when they bring their families here to have fun with their kids. The only two courses you have are in disrepair. The fountains are not working. The greens are horrible. If someone were to just blow off the greens with a leaf blower that would be a huge improvement.Out of the entire Appomattox course we only found 1 ball retriever. Come on we had two 6 year olds with us. Speakers sit everywhere in the rock

The food service was terrible. The wait time was extremely long and the food was nasty. I watched the cooks/servers in the back playing/laughing and talking instead of working. One girl in the back didn't have gloves on and was openly eating and helping with orders. The dining area was nasty and nobody bothered to come wipe a table down or sweep up anything. I watched a few people return their food orders because the food was not cooked properly or was not what they asked for. Super unprofessional. My kids

Very kid friendly and great staff. My son really enjoyed himself and didn't want to leave! The Go-Kart staff let me and my son go so we weren't waiting too long for the singles to go, as he was becoming inpatient. Recommend to anyone.

This is a great place for family, friends and fun, lots of fun!!! You can play video games you can have all sorts of fun from riding golf cart, golf, game room, bowling and much more!

It should not take 30 min to an hour receive any of the mediocre food they serve. Took 40 min to get cold cinnamon pretzel bites. The guy in front of us waiting 30 min for a hotdog is insane. There were 4 people just hanging out, while 1 guy was preparing food. The arcade experience was fine enough even though the VR attraction was malfunctioning. The poor concession experience killed the whole experience because it's annoying to think they can't be more efficient with there food service. *Update based on t

Mixed review!! The outside part was great! Go, Karts, batting cages, etc. However, I spent over $150 for two kids to play arcade games, and about 20% of the games did not work.

Took my son when we passed through the area at the recommendation of a local. I paid 60 bucks for the 2 of us and it was a complete waste of money. It started out going well until a constant flow of taxis started dropping off groups of people. The groups would jump in front of you in every line and the employees just stood there and watched. It got to the point where my son couldn't do anything because of it and that's when we gave up and left. I wouldn't want to take my family there if I was ever back in t

This is a great spot for a family fun night. We went on a friday and basically had the place to ourselves. The games are affordable they had a virtual reality game which was tons of fun. They had great video games lots variety. It was clean and the staff were attentive. VERY well done! I was impressed and that is hard to do.

My wife and I decided to get out the house and have a little fun, just the 2 of us. Headed to Swaders for an afternoon of we time. Upon arrival we went to the food station to get a snack. The young employees were not really professional, but we overlooked it to have a good time playing the games. The first game we played was the basketball, we had 5 back to back sessions competing against the other shooting the ball into the hoop. And I can admit, she beat me everytime lol. Anyway we purchased 2 play cards

Great place for kids! Parties, etc. Huge selection of video games n entertainment! Laser tag as well! Miniature bowling n food prices are reasonable...

We had a really fun afternoon playing miniature golf and duck pin bowling.

Love playing skee ball, they have great games but no pinball machines.

Had an Ultimate Party Blowout for my son?s Birthday. Was told after arriving, whoever planned my party over the phone doesn't usually plan parties. Was told no outside food when told otherwise by the planner. Had to purchase an extra play card for my son when I was told the Birthday boy was included in the package. Mark the manager that day was extremely rude and condescending and asked if I could add. Just acted like I just wanted something for free. When all I wanted was to speak to an adult in the buildi

My son had his birthday there and it was definitely one to remember, but not in a good way. The host did not know her job description, as host, therefore I had to do everything. Sweating, running down food, drinks, etc and entertaining the kids while she disappeared after dropping different items off. She was not prepared whatsoever. For parties larger than 8 kids, they should have more than one host. It was a chaotic day! I could have ?rented space ? anywhere. It was far from enjoyable and not worth the m

I Had so much fun, amazing place to bring kids

Nice out of the way spot. Really clean but the snack shop has no ketchup or cheese for the fries. Lol. Hopefully, next time ??

We had our son's birthday party here, and it was great. Our hostess and her helpers were fantastic and very attentive, and everyone had an excellent time. The kids loved the pizza, cupcakes, and of course, the arcade and attractions! Especially the go-karts.

We had a blast! We come often today was the 12 year anniversary. Our son had a great time. A few games took our money but they are great about putting it back on the card. My only complaint is the ticket counter everytime it seems only 1 person is working and line is always extremely long. Other then that we love swaders! It is a little overstimulated. From all the loud lights and sounds.

It was cute. First time visiting with my boys (10&16) since we moved to VA. They have batting cages, Go-cart racing, Lazer tag, Like a jungle gym thingy and an Arcade with a few games to play. They may have a concessions stand but we didn't visit there on this trip. They do have like a center kind of like Chuck E Cheese where you can get little chachkies and such. We didn't really stop over there. The place was clean. The staff were helpful. Overall for someplace local and low key this was fun for my kids.

Fun times! Go-karts, intense arcade. Great for people watching. Family friendly. Lovely staff.

Great Place to let kids run free?.Arcade was fun, but go carts was the kids favorite?Employees very nice?..Didn't try the food because every worker was eating outside food that's a sign to me food not good there! Will be returning for Boys Birthday

We visited there on Saturday 2/24. One of the worst experience I have ever had. 1. Go kart was not working. Understand track was wet, but there was no intent from crew to do anything about this. 2. Baseball cage was not working. 3. VR remotes were not working, so we had to play a zombie game, which involved guns, crew member set us up just to find out one of 3 players was having technical issues and was not able to participate. 4. We went to order food; fries and nuggets. Two crew members on register tak

too expensive. every arcade game cost over $2 to play and the kids play area cost $9 fornthe jungle gym the laser tag didn't work. lots of stuff was out of order. the go karts cost 9 dollars and only got 3 laps and halfway through the last lap they cut the power to slow you down..... yea I'm actually leaving right now and didn't get to ay laser tag so you can tell your truth all you want but I'm walking out of there and didn't play laser tag and still have 8 attraction tickets

Great place for kids ! Friendly staff ...You will love this place on the weekends or special occasions.

Great atmosphere for everyone!! Kids will love it along with guardian..

Went as a private party! Super cool place with helpful staff!

My kids and I love to go here to play, eat and have fun. The cost to play the games is a lot, anywhere from $2-$8 per play, and the package deals seem like a good deal but when two kids are playing games they'll go through the money in about 3 minutes. Laser tag is pretty fun but the staff stall to make you feel like you're getting more play time. We still had a great time!

Awesome fun place to go with the family. Attractions well maintained and facility is clean. Really enjoued the go karts which were fully functional and the most exciting part of the visit. Great service.

Took my son 4 years old of course he had fun but why are the games and food so expensive. It cost $9 to play in the lil jungle gym area. Unlimited but still too much for that. Food area people need more training. I don't know how long the food and icees take should not be an answer. Sunday 5/21/24 rather take him somewhere else they will not see another dime of my money.

My 5 year old?s birthday party was scheduled for today. Apparently they decided to close for 10 days due to COVID. I understand that part but they called to confirm my party details on Sept 5. Then, on Sept 8, they called and left a VM, which I never got because my VM wasn't set up, saying that they'd be closed and to call them back. I think one call and VM is a pretty sad, insufficient effort to put forward for someone who was going to be spending $250+ at their establishment. They could have sent an email

This place has something for everyone!! Brought two teenagers, an 11 year old and a toddler and everyone had a blast!! Super clean, lots of game choices and activities for all ages!

Environment was super fun my kids had an amazing time! Manager was awesome and helped us out with a few of the machines, she was super lovely and made the experience 10000 times better. Keep it up!

Just went and it was really bad the 4 player air hockey thing broke then the batting cages weren't even working the 40 and 50mph cages broke and then the slow pitch softball didn't even shoot out the balls and the fast pitch throws were all the place idk how this place is even functioning

Super impressed. The place is awesome and has so much to do to keep the entire family busy and happy. The girls at the front desk could definitely use some training. We had questions since it was our first time and they had no answers.

Hardly any of the arcade games worked, the air hockey table took our money, but had no puck. Fiance and I chalked it up to the place being lousy only to see a group of teenagers using our money with the missing puck. No employee would take responsibility for anything, I asked a boy at one of the registers for change for the lockers and was told he couldn't do that only to see him do it immediately for someone else. Maybe this place isn't LGBT friendly and/or outright racist? Certainly would explain why we w

We like coming here as it's a fun place that is close by. Our son loves the huge play area they have, and we as a family love the arcade and mini golf. We have not tried the go carts or laser tag. One negative is the cost. It's $9 per experience, per person, unless you get a package deal which saves a few, but many bucks.

Me and my family had the WORST experience at this park. We drove from Fredericksburg VA to come out during my daughter?s spring break, and I brought along her best friend. I asked questions about the rules. We were not informed it was single use. The girl we spoke with seemed apologetic and I asked questions to try to avoid a miscommunication. I had paid under this miscommunication. The man that was working with her that seemed to have been a superior was rude and cold. When I spoke to whom I'm assuming

There system for paying for attractions is complicated to me. The price for the run of the park is fair but to call it run of the park isn't accurate. It includes three attractions. We did kill a few hours time and for 5 people to spend just $30...I won't complain.

We definitely enjoyed this place. We wanted our grandson to have fun filled 7th birthday. We will be back. Happy Birthday!! ?? ?? ??

Prices were reasonable, didn't get to go cart because of the rain, lots of activities for the kids, pizza was really good, some of the food was cold, but overall great experience.

I spent 40 bucks in less than 10 mins for 1 child. Tried to play in the play area but some kid threw up in it so my child didn't get to even play in that. However, the manager was kind enough to refund the money for that. I just think the cost to play the games for what little amount of tickets you get for playing the games is just a rip off. But that's my opinion. Overall, the few workers I interacted with were kind and courteous. Just a bit overpriced to play the games for tickets.

Fun place okay prices for the kidzone and a great way for kids to play when raining outside. The arcade is over priced with most being $1.50 to $2 per play and a the prizes taking a lot of tickets.

I've taken my nephews here quite a few times over the years. All the games and laser tag are fun. The golf clubs could use some upgrades. The go karts get pretty busy, so we usually have to wait a while. It's an enjoyable time.

Seems like a fun place but the staff is incompetent. Started a birthday party at 1. It's now 3 and the kids haven't been able to play a single game, or do a single activity. Staff is just staring at each other behind the counter And don't seem to care enough about breathing to function like adults. Oh and the games are $2 a pop. $8 birthday card kept the kids entertained for less than 10min.

I brought my son here to celebrate his birthday. Their website incorrectly stated that they were not scheduling parties due to being short staffed. When we arrived almost an hour away from where we live, we were told that we could not bring his cake inside unless we had a party scheduled...thankfully it wasn't super hot that day so the cake survived lol but I was very annoyed. The kids had a good time though so that was most important.

We had my son's 3rd Birthday party at Swaders and it was a great experience! The staff were so accommodating and helpful and they made the whole process a breeze! I definitely will do more birthday parties here as well as come back to just play.

Always love supporting this place and I'm glad they made some upgrades/maintenance on the driving range. It's been my only gripe for years but I wish they had some type of gazebo or something to just get out of the sun during the warmer months. I know my golf group and I would definitely visit more in the summer and stay longer if this was in place. With top golf and drive shack not in this area it would be great to see a local mainstay jump on it. Just some shade that's all lol.

Came to Swaders looking to have some fun while visiting my husband at Gregg Adams. He had been telling me what a good time he had had the last time he was in training, and he wanted to take me. Needless to say,we left disappointed. The go kart track was out of service, and that was the main reason we went. We decided to go try the arcade, and loaded some money onto a card. We very quickly realized that the games were ridiculously expensive to play. Most games were 2.50-3.00 per play & barely awarded you any ti

We wouldn't do a party here again. We were rushed in and out of the party room. The party last an hour but if you and your party isn't there on time they start the time regardless. Spoke with the manager and she stated the at is the rule across the board and that how it works for them. The amusement park is good but I wouldn't do a party here again. It was a waste of money trying to have kids rush to eat pizza that wasn't good and cupcake and ice cream in one hour.

Not only have we used them to celebrate a birthday but they're always a fun trip for the kids while also being fun for the adults too!

not great ?? i was super hungry when we arrived so i immediately went to order some food. i ordered, waited 40ish mins (which i can prove bc i have the time my card swiped on my phone and a time stamped photo of the food at the table, uneaten) and then when i got the food, i realized it was frozen, microwaved food like a great value brand, plastic wrapped, microwaveable burger. they did have a sign up that said in a rush the orders might take 30-60 mins and an average order would take 10-15. there was no r

So amazing loved every min.. My niece Birthday and we had Super fun with the Family

First the girl at the children's area made me pay a second time I tried to explain I had paid and the kids had on their arm band. She said they were the wrong day arm band. I went to the manager. I had the right day arm band and showed her my receipt she refunded my money back to my card. I had my great grand children's third ages 21/2 and 18 months. They were in the section that had a sign saying Children 3 and under. Large kids ages ranging from 8 to 22 kept coming into that section and knocking the kids

I went here in June but the first time I went was January, last time I went in June the power went out for the whole day but my other experiences were good and every time I go here I just be coming here for the go kart racing which is my favorite experience here and the arcade is where I go for the most and my 3yr old brother celebrated his birthday there so he mostly likes the indoor playground experience. I would go here everyday if I would

Fun activities for the kids and nice premises but the service, knowledge, and communication of employees was so poor. It was like everyone was afraid to speak and explain things. Staff needs more training on communication and guiding customers. Also wait in the food area was very long, that area was understaffed.

Amazing... For the small price of 200, you can get the minimum experience of one go-kart ride. (JK) ? Pricing - It's alright, but the arcade seems like a blowoff compared to the attractions. ? Attractions - Very fun and much well worth it. The timing is alright for 9 bucks a piece. I would recommend trying the Laser tag and GoKarts. ?Customer service/ Worker interaction - I very much respect the employees here. They have lots of respect for everyone, answer your questions, and have a good chat with you. I d

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
