This place was a blast from the past for any kid from the 80?s! Super fun for the whole family- everyone is guaranteed to have a great time. They serve reasonably priced food & drinks (alcoholic & nonalcoholic) & have a space downstairs for live music. We will definitely be back soon!
Came out of town to take my daughter to her first concert here to see one of my favorite bands (she's also a fan). The arcade is great, they had one of my favorite beers there (Victory's Sour Monkey), the downstairs area with the stage reminds me of the small clubs I used to frequent when I was younger, and the sound system was perfect. Talked with one of the owners; super cool guy and I hope he's super proud of this cool business he's built with his business partner! I hope to make a trip back in the futur
New obsession unlocked: Playing Galaga while a live rock band is playing in the background. THANK YOU!!! I am beyond happy that a place like this now exists in Lynchburg, not only for the games but for the live music!! Games: Top notch! There are so many to choose from and I like how they switch out/get new games every now and then. Having the systems set up downstairs with big projection screens was a nice surprise and perfect for multiplayer games with friends! Music: I can't express how truly ecstati
My son and I decided to have a bit of old fashioned fun and visited the Super Rad Arcade in downtown Lynchburg. The cost was only $7 per person for unlimited gameplay, which I thought was a screaming deal. Sadly, after paying the fee, and entering the arcade the cheap price began to make sense. There were 4 pinball machines, but only 2 worked. They had several shooting games, but again, there were "Out of Order" signs on several. They had a few of the classics such as Pacman, Frogger, Asteroid, and Terri
Saw Pentagram show here. Great venue. Up close and personal stage set up. Free arcade games included with ticket price I guess.
This was our first visit with a big group of 6 - all big arcade fans. Cons: ? it felt like half the games we played were either out of order or had some sort of malfunction. Pinball flippers not working, joysticks not working, and some games just turned off completely. ? Loading the credits onto the games can be confusing. There are some where you press a button to load a credit in, but others where you have to get someone from the bar to put credits into the machine. ? Our biggest complaint - VALUE FOR MO
Super excited to have this place in Lynchburg. Full opening is scheduled for April 26. I took a walk through the space. Great game selection. Lots of room and a very fun atmosphere. Looking forward to hanging out there with friends after work for a beer.
My two friends and I went and it did not disappoint. Nostalgia is big right now and it hits all the right buttons. The food and beer are very simple but they just opened and are working on expanding. Cheap to get in at the moment with unlimited plays. It checks all the boxes for a fun night. Cheers.
It's such a fun "gem" in downtown! It has such a fun and inviting environment filled with nostalgia for all ages. Plus, the bands and events are a great way to further mingle within the community!
Super cool idea! You pay the entry fee ($7/person, I think) and just play for as long as you want without having to pay for the individual games. There are tons of games to choose from between the main level and the basement and they had snacks/soft drinks/alcohol at the snack bar. Love the music and the vibes!
Super Rad Arcade Bar is a great addition to Downtown Lynchburg's nightlife! They have a fantastic selection of retro and modern arcade games, and the atmosphere is fun and energetic. It's a perfect spot to hang out with friends, grab a drink, and play some games.
This Place is Coolest New Spot Downtown! Incredibly Reasonable Prices, Hours Of Fun, they also have Shows & local bands from time to time too! I'm so Excited there's such a cool place to hang out Downtown!
It's so fun! We've gone with our 4 year old and she loves to sit in my lap and play the car games. It's also a fun date night with well priced beer.
I attempted to book a birthday party for our son. I submitted the request online and never received the email confirmation that it said I would. I then emailed them twice to ask about this. I got no response so I sent a total of three Facebook messages. All three messages were read with no reply. This is definitely no way to run a business. Don't waste your time trying to plan something with them, it is more headache than it's worth.
Super Rad is THE spot, I hadn't been and my buddy had been begging me to come out. Went last night to the Smoke show and had an absolute blast of a time. Owner had the whole thing under control, everything is super well managed, and the arcade games are a blast. Whole place is just a great thing, love the concept and definitely will be back.
Super Rad Arcade is honestly super rad! This place is fun for kids or adults. Good selection and variety of games, snack bar. I love the live music events and late nights. Thanks for bringing the good vibes and creating somewhere fun to go in town ??
SUPER friendly staff, vibes are perfect for a gaming space (noodles and uwus upon request) Lots of games to play, live music, open space even with all the machines active. Been a few times so far and it's shaping up to be a frequent stop.
This place is INCREDIBLE!!! Finally!! A more than reasonably priced Arcade. You pay 10$ (annual memberships also available) and the Arcades are FREE. No quarters, no tokens, no change machines necessary. I played Cruisin World for over an hour straight. BEAT Time Crisis 5...which was AMAZING. I'd love to see them get MK2, Streetfighter 2, and Tekken TAG tournament tho. Also, DRAFT beer on TAP would be fantastic. But this place is constantly upgrading, it's gotten better Everytime I go. So I expect that tren
This place is awesome! Fun and friendly local owners that are knowledgeable about both gaming and music. Great variety of arcade games old and new and a variety of affordable snacks and drinks. I saw live music here and it was a packed house with a lively and diverse crowd. Make sure to check the website for upcoming live music events and reach out for private party booking needs. Support local!
Games are fun, but many are worn-out. Place is crowded, so you may have wait a long time to play the popular games.
I had a really fun time playing some old school arcade games here this evening! I'm glad to see an arcade close by now. I hope they get a pinball machine at some point.
This place is amazing. We have had our holiday staff party here and I have visited on my own plenty of times. Great staff, great arcade, great selection!
Stopped in with the family while visiting the area and couldn't be more pleased. Friendly staff, great games, and hours of fun for both the kids and the adults (Sunday was kids day, so it worked out perfectly!). There was a good variety of classic arcade games and even some consoles set up. Great prices, too!. Will definitely stop back in next time we are in the area to check that Pac Man high score!
$10 for all you can play arcade games is pretty unbeatable. Plus, between canned food drives, hosting local bands, and today's free day, they're constantly giving back to the community and trying to bring everyone together.
Compared to other arcades this one is very cheap. 10 dollars for one person to play ANY game as many times as you want. Recommend
A large selection of vintage arcade games (and growing), an affordable price for unlimited play on two floors, and you can have an adult beverage if you so desire!
A neat location. But of a bummer that several machines were down, but you can pay a one time fee and play all the arcade games that you want. They have some classics like X-Men, time crisis, and soul calibur, and even some golden oldies. It was a neat place to re-experience a major part of my childhood. It would have been much better if I'd have had a group of friends with me. Good selection of games, more than fair price, decent location, large space, pretty clean, staff was polite.
Right now, it costs $7 per person to enter, and then you can play all the games you want for free. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and hot food to keep you going while you're gaming. The place is two levels, and the owners are always working on getting new things into the arcade. They host a lot of fun events and are active members of the community; involved in local downtown events as well. I'm excited to watch Super Rad continue to grow.
Such a fun place to go! Unlimited games upstairs and live music downstairs! Love it!
Oh my gosh. Lynchburg has been needing for something like this for about 10 years. Please do more EDM nights especially if House or Trance artists make an appearance!
Absolutely loved this place. It is a great date night spot. Can't wait to go back and bring the kiddos. We went for goth night and had a blast! Will give a heads up that goth nights are very loud and when it is crowded you may have to wait awhile to get to the game you want, but still a very fun and well worth it.
Vintage games, nice environment. Great for kids during the day.
It's an arcade bar but unlike many arcade bars this place is very family friendly. They have games of every Era and unlike many arcade bars this place only charges you an entry fee and you can play all the games there as long as you want. If you are more interested in the bar portion the beer prices are pretty good. This is honestly my go to for my friends and I.
This is a really fun and affordable place to go for a date, to bring your kid, or just to hang out at. The staff is super sweet and helpful!
The place is getting better every day. It's improved so much since opening. Super happy to see it's growing in popularity. Would love to see some basketball games and maybe a couple more games that are suited for the 10 and under crowd but other than that it's great!
Super Rad is an amazing arcade nestled in Downtown Lynchburg. The vibes are immaculate, the games are fun to play by yourself or with a friend, and the prices are beyond fair. I love this place, and I hope it lasts a long, long time.
Had a blast here. We did go when they first opened so we decided to go back once they get the rest of their machines. It's a fun atmosphere and the staff is really friendly. Some of the machines weren't working but it wasn't a hug deal. I love that they had crazy taxi. It was my first time playing it and I just kept going back to it. I'd say it's a wonderful place to hang out.
Absolutely loved this place. $7 for all you can play, cheap drinks. My husband and I went on our anniversary and it was a great mix of people. We were definitely overdressed having come from a nice dinner, and I never felt weird or uncomfortable. Will absolutely be back!
Super cool. There are plenty of machines to entertain you for hours.
Took my 17 and 7 year old sons recently and had a good time. I was shocked that I didn't have to cash out for tokens/quarters at all. Just pay the flat rate at the door and everything is unlimited plays. They even had the Game Cube set up on one tv and a Super Nintendo (with the built in games) on another. The next time I go I'm starting a monthly membership!
The owner, Cullen, went above and beyond to accommodate us for my sons 16th birthday! Plus gave us passes to come back. Him and this place is an awesome gem added to downtown!
Easily one of the coolest places in downtown Lynchburg. Affordable, fun, and family friendly.
Hopeful that this business is here to stay in Downtown Lynchburg. Went here with some friends and had an absolute blast for an affordable price! Tons of games of all varieties and such a unique atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend stopping in for even a half-hour and playing some games!
Such a fun and unique place! My family and I have a blast here! My husband and I enjoyed showing our 12 year old son all the old games we used to play growing up.
Tons of fun, retro arcade games! Loved going here and remembering how much I missed going to arcades. Staff was very friendly and you can tell a lot of love is going into making this place great. Love the business model of a pay to enter and then play as many games as you want instead of paying out the nose per game like at soulless Dave and Busters Hope to see this place grow and do really well. Go play some games and grab some drinks!
Super Rad is super rad! Amazing selection of arcade games and drinks. Great local space with community events and music.
Whoever said money can't buy happiness has never exchanged their currency for a few hours at this establishment! Kidding aside, it checked all the boxes for style, vibe, nostalgia feeling, etc. Unfortunately, some of the games were down, but not an absurd amount. Will be returning for sure when I have some more time!
I gave this 3/5, but it is well worth stopping by. The price is right ($7 per person for all day). That was really nice. I think that's probably half the price of a similar place in Roanoke. Here's my issue: Super Rad's available game selection was good but could have been better. There were a number of good classic shooting games, like Silent Scope - but at least two were broken and out of service. This made it hard to get a turn on the the few ones that did work. They also had an early Arrcade 1 Up ver
Neat arcade in downtown Lynchburg, family friendly and good spot to grab a drink with friends. Staff are very nice. Good selection of games to start, love to see Virtual On, Tekken 5, and others, hope to see more rhythm and dance games in the future. $5 for all you can play, can't beat it.
Just left and I'm so excited that Lynchburg now has an arcade bar that hosts fun events. Left a few high scores on the machines while enjoying some beers and dancing to some great jams. Perfect Saturday night.
Really awesome place! 5$ for a ton of cool arcade games. Definitely worth it. I'm excited to see if they do more with alcohol and food in the future.
This is a place Lynchburg really needed. There were a lot of games and it's a fun environment. The night I went, they had a face painter named Nicole who was so talented and kind. I highly recommend coming here.
This place took us right back to playing video games at the convenient store on the corner back home! All the favorites, friendly employees, and it doesn't break the bank to go have some fun! Also one of the few places open late here in Lynchburg.
I love this place so much. I wish they'd get the skeeball machine going
Great venue and totally understanding. Thank you again !
This place was amazing! Staff was friendly, very clean facilities and lots of vintage and more current games! 10 of 10, will definitely go again!
Great place. Lots of retro games
This place is a gem. We have a membership and i take the kids frequently. Has some old school arcade vibes along with modern nerd appeal.
Incredible time with throw back games. The vibe was great, and the unlimited game play was refreshing and made it easier to flow between games.
Best old school place to go to just have a fun time! Laid back and kids enjoyed every minute of it for a fair price!! We need more places like this period!!
Lots of multi-player arcade games -- perfect for a date night downtown. Went with my nephew and his friends. Fun vibe & friendly workers. Lots of different game areas in the basement as well.
Great place, some games didn't work but they are still filling out the place. For the price I have zero complaints!
Amazing place!! My 8 year old nephew and 6 year old niece absolutely LOVED the place. It's definitely a place for all ages
For $5, you too can play Asteroid until your hands cramp. This place is already a much needed addition to Lynchburg, and has tremendous potential.
Great place to have some fun for all ages for only $7. Highly recommend!
Have been multiple times and it gets better every time with new stuff! There's also a really unhinged game that I forget the name of that I keep getting a little farther on each time! Great for kids and adults.
Came here with some friends that were out of town and we had a blast! Reasonably priced fun in downtown Lynchburg!
This place is absolutely amazing, I've been there twice and I am so glad to have a place like this in our community
The place that Lynchburg needed. $7 to get in and play all day. A variety of games, snacky food, and cold beverages. We will be back.
Awesome place. Many classic games and great staff.
most fun you can have in lynchburg!
Great place. Pay entry fee and game all night
I feel like the best is yet to come. What a great spot and cool building for an arcade!
Once their ABC license is approved, they'll be worthy of 10 stars
Nice place. Kids loved it.
This place is a dream come true! A must visit location in the Lynchburg area.
Lots of games, adult beverages, and food.
Great downtown barcade with a good variety of games and drinks
Really cool space to unwind and play some old retro games. Highly recommend.
Fun time with my friend and my daughter on a Saturday afternoon.
Awesome place with lots of games and cheap price, yay!
This place is indeed Super Rad.
Good to see someone adding more things to do in Lynchburg!
Great food and delicious nachos!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
