Pinball and retro video games, aplenty they have. Star Wars, Labyrinth, River Wild?ah, the Force flows through these machines! A Jedi's reflexes tested they shall be. Two tokens, the cost of pinball is. Fifty cents it equals. But patience, a Jedi must have, for video games?just twenty-five cents they require (at least the games I played). A deal most wise! For the locals, an Insider?s Club exists. Regular play, a privilege it grants. Strong in commitment, these players must be. Young Padawans, welcome th

Great bar and place to hang out in the community. There's a great selection of pin balls machines, some Japanese arcade games, a few consoles as well. Chill place to hang out! Will definitely go back!

First time visiting this location and it was so fun. $10 worth of credits can be split between two people and you can play for hours. Some games along the wall are free and don't require any tokens. Did not have any food or drinks so I can't comment on that but my partner did have a beer that was pretty good.

This is the best arcade I have ever visited. And I don't say that lightly. I have visited several arcades in Tokyo, and Super Abari legitimately has a wider rhythm game selection than pretty much all of them. And unlike many other arcades in the states, the prices are actually reasonable. 75 cents per play means that you can spend a decent amount of time in the arcade for only $5. Try that at a round1 and see how far $5 gets you. I can't speak much as to the bar scene since I was under 21 when I visited, bu

I love this bar, a lot! And I come here, a lot! The only downside is that if they do not have a food truck outside and they sell out of hot pockets... They are just out of all good other than the vending machine (which is just as expensive as the food, but less filling). The games are great, some are offline or broken, but they are usually speedy with fixing things.

I've been going to Abari for about two years now and have no plans on ever stopping! From the games themselves, to the welcoming hilarious employees, and great location Abari is THE video game bar of Charlotte (I will die on this hill) Parking is available both in the Abari lot and in a gravel lot right across the street (FREE)!! The drinks are great and don't break the bank. Same thing with the tokens; $5 gets you 20 tokens (other quantities available) I tell my friends who have never gone that it's the

Can't believe I had never been here before. This place is really cool even if you are not much of a gamer, it has a lot if nostalgia from games in the past. Lot's of games to choose from, kid friendly with adults (cause it is a bar too) I think during the daytime only. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking and across the street parking. Sometimes food trucks are there, but a couple of restaurants are within walking distance.

Came here for the first time the other day with my partner and was SO blown away!!! I love barcades and this one is the most eclectic one I've ever been to (no, seriously). I haven't heard of several of these and there are some super niche japanese games that are so fxkin fun!! The selection is insaaaaaane and the drink menu is pretty extensive too. They have N/A options and a snack vending machine + I saw they had a food truck outside as well :) Not to mention, they have a nice patio for chilling/smoking t

What a great pinball hall. Ive heard about it from friends but never stopped by because its about 40mins from home but is it worth it! Plenty of tables of all styles and designs. Games for all ages also. Plenty of games from when i was younger. It has a nice outdoor area and a good sized bar. I spent a good amount of time here today and i could see myself coming back. Its a bar also, so its 21+ after 6pm to my understanding.

Had such a great time here! This was my first time coming to the newer location, and I must say that I definitely enjoyed this location better than the last location they were previously. This space is much bigger and more organized, I feel. It didn't feel so cramped. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a bar and then a couch where you can play games on PS4 or Xbox. We played a few rounds of Mario Kart and loved it! There are some stairs that lead you down to the arcade. You have to purchase tokens

Great place to just come in and play some classic pinball. Games I remember here are games I saw when my dad took me and my brother to local bars in Charlotte back in the day and we would play, so I like the old school pinball and aesthetic vibe. Even a game like Fish Tales was a staple at the pier in Sunset Beach, NC so I get some good memories playing these gems. Overall a great place that's not too expensive either for some pinball games at 50? each. If you are a pinball fan new or old this place has y

I'm usually suspicious of arcade bars but this was the best one I've ever been to. Great drink specials. Unique beers and shots. Games are pay by the game but reasonably priced. It has the atmosphere and game selection of a cheesy corporate arcade bar with the bar and drinks of a dive bar. Perfect!

My wife and I were here for a popup market. We were surprised how big this place is. I have not played centipede in many decades. I will soon. Very nice bar with a good selection of beers. Staff is friendly. If in the Belmont neighborhood this place is worth a visit. I was told to go check out the back patio. I will after this review.

What a fun place. A true pinball lover's dream...open late. Not for families though. All pinball games are .50. $10 will give you great value. All my favorite games growing up, and in excellent condition. Set to non-expert playing parameters, too. Very clean throughout and friendly team. Beer selection seemed quite diverse (although I wasn't drinking). I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Charlotte. Beware of dirt parking lot across road when raining.

I absolutely LOVE Super Abari Game Bar. Loads of classic games, Pac Man, Galaga and a few other classics are free to play along with the World's Largest Game Boy! Pinball is the main reason I go, and they have the latest games from Stern as well as classics i love from the 80s and 90s. This is a big spot for tournaments and league play and the techs keep them running fast and well, at only .50 a play! The crazy collection of new Japanese rhythm games as well as driving games is awesome. Great cocktails, be

This is an amazing Charlotte Gem, acting as a nerd paradise filled with arcade games! This is definitely a Pinball Machine focused arcade, but they also have OG 80s games like Pacman. They'll have anime playing in the background! During my visit, I was lucky enough to rewatch 1986 Dragon Ball where kid Goku turns into a Great Ape. Back when Yamaha could save the day! Highly suggest this place for a first or second date if you're anywhere on the nerd spectrum.

When you are in Charlotte and love arcades you have to stop here. It's a bar for +21 and up M-F. But on Saturday and Sundays kids can come in and play games from 12-6pm. My kids loved it! We played games from Japan and pinball games I've never seen before. After the kids played the arcade games they sat on the couch and played a round of PS4. This spot has nostalgia all over it with retro tv shows and cartoons playing in the background.

This arcade is a blast! It has everything you could ask for in an arcade. 2P Fighting games, beat em ups, shoot em ups, pinball, Japanese games, retro games, you name it. One major pitfall is that they don't allow 18+ on weekdays. I understand they serve alcohol, but all they have to do is put in some wrist band system. This arcade is near a major University and a Community College. The first group of people I can think of who have free time on a Thursday evening are young adults who are within the ages o

Brought my 14/11 yo boys here for the first time... Wow, great place! I gave them $20 in coins and it took a good 2 hours to deplete (and I spent the most, funneling coin after coin playing Ivan Stewart Super Off Road lol). Great place for a afternoon of fun.

i went with a group of friend on a saturday night earlier in march and it was simply put, game-tastic?hehe. the set up of this establishment was a top floor bottom floor layout with a small bar and a collection of tables chairs and even a couch to play the switch. the bottom floor was home to a multitude of games ranging from pinball machines to classics like pac-man. lots of your staple arcade games. my favorite had to be a machine from japan that plays up to four plays in a game show manner where players

Here is my decade long review for Abari. My favorite place in the city by far. Amazing staff, Atmosphere, selection of Pinball, Arcade, Rhythm, and other gaming options, all priced at the most reasonable you can find in the country. They support local restaurants, organizations, and communities! You can find leagues and sub communities here and meet new people with similar interests. Highly recommend you come hang out here (and join us for Pinball league).

Small selection on drinks, overly crowded and dirty. Would not recommend for large groups, barely could hear just one person talking next me. However, it's a great place to play arcade games and have a drink. Would be great to have a larger area of tables, at times no games are available and you're just standing in the way of others trying to walk around while waiting for a game to free up or just watching a friend play. Food is offered from a food truck that leaves around 11 p.m..

I have crippling social anxiety and the only place I go for fun outside of home is this barcade. The staff and the clientele create such a welcoming atmosphere; the place is often packed, and it has helped me over the past almost two years to overcome a lot of my social anxiety slowly and at my own pace. I make sure to go at least once every single month to play Area 51. I put on my cat headphones and I'm home away from home.

Came here on a trip to Charlotte. Its a nice barcade. They had a decent beer and cocktail selection that was affordable. I loved how the classic games were free to play. Every newer game was about a token to play. There's a token machine that accepts card and cash.

Bouncer was nice. Bartender was kind of rude and really seemed like he didn't want to be there. A pretty good handful of games ate our coins. Drinks tasted kind of off. The amount of games were decent even though half were pinballs. It was an ok time. Don't think we'll be going back.

Wonderful arcade bar! They give great value on the games. I spent $20 in tokens and could literally have played all night if I wanted to. Parking is also much better than the old location. Finally, the machines were all in excellent shape. You can tell that the owner and staff are proud to work here. Can't wait to go back!

This is such a cool bar. You walk in and you can be playing Super Marios on the couch. Drinks are available for purchase. There was a food truck outside as well. The food from the food truck was okay. However, I love all the games they have. Everyone is friendly. The pinball machines were lots of fun. And the OG games like Mrs. Pacman are free. We had such a great time. Highly recommend everyone try for a date night. Parking is across the street. Games are cheap. You get tokens. Games are 50 cents.....Today

WOW! i felt like I was back at the bowling alley arcade in 1995! A true blast from the past feel! This was an awesome experience with so many of my favorite pin ball and arcade games! I wanted to take the simpsons home with me lol mortal kombat was just as remembered it! Duck hunt REALLY brought back memories!

This place is awesome. The atmosphere is super unique, and there is a ton of variety in the games. The staff is super friendly and I love coming here with my family. I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Let me say I love this place. It was so much fun. BUT, I tasted no alcohol in my drinks. I'm not saying there was none but I had 4 drinks and I felt nothing. Same with my friend. We were so disappointed because we were really looking forward to coming here and this really messed it up for me. I highly suggest getting your drinks in before coming.

Fun place! Lots of games available to play, friendly staff, no nonsense! Places like these help people suffering from boredom! Bring your kids on the weekend, they'd love it too! (P.S. The quick-draw game is only one coin per play ??)

So glad I stopped!! Extremely nice host and bartender and very reasonable prices for games and drinks. They even have free play! Such a unique blend of game choices from pinball to shooting games that are not even in American. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! great for kid dates regular dates and everything in between !

This place is so cool! Lots of old time pin ball machines and button-mashing video games, a long with a few modern ones. All games are anywhere from 25-50 cents per play, and you can buy quarters with a card if you don't bring cash. I'm not a gamer but I had a great time with friends here! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because their liquor drinks are expensive, $16 for a double ?? compared to the beers that were $2.50, but I would go again!

No food, just food trucks. Ok mix of beers and liquor. Not enough good parking. The pinball machines are maintained beautifully and always the newest games. Good assortment of arcade cabinets from all decades.

Great throwback place with pinball and old arcade games. I loved this place and will definitely come back here again! Don't miss a great throw back arcade with drinks. There was a food truck outside but didn't eat there.

Stopped by in the area for a few hours. We saw they were doing a new years eve event so we checked it out. The place is such a vibe and I really loved the atmosphere! I loved the shelf dedicated to some of the sonic games. I'm a huge fan and collector so it was really cool seeing it!! Especially the segasonic Japanese arcade machine from 1993. I'm so happy I got a chance to play it (can I keep it, jk..)!! The other games were so fun as well. I'd definitely try to go again sometime whatever I come back in th

I looked this place up on the pinball map and as soon as i walked in i noticed how shiny all the pinball machines were. Super well maintained. Great selection of brand New and older pinball machines (and arcade machines). Big shoutout to the techs that maintain them (they told me they pop in 3 times a week). If you like pinball(or arcade machines) i would defenitly recommend. PS. I also got my name on the leaderboard (Rezzer) ??

Great pinball! Could be better lighting on a number of machines, since some were too dark to see. No gender-neutral bathrooms, which makes it not the safest space for non-binary people. (Apparently you have to ask staff to use a special restroom ??) Otherwise, the vibe is great! 50? pinball! Halloween was well-lit and my favorite play of the night

Love it here! The team is super friendly. The games are well kept. If there's a problem, there is someone there to fix it, or they reimburse your tokens. I won't go to any other barcade in Charlotte. Super Abari for life!

This is actually a new location after the original Abari location closed. ( Naming the place Super abari is the best thing ever). As a result a lot of old reviews incorrectly got ported over. I once said Paranoia Pinball was the only correct spot in Charlotte to play pinball (and is still my preference), but this place is now up there as well. Walking down the stairs and seeing the old tvs playing 80s scenes and hearing and seeing all the games was definitely a portal into the past. There was parking at the

Good selection of classic pinball machines. Snack machines and water dispenser were handy. Can't speak to the alcohol as I did not have any drinks while here.

What a pleasant way to spend time with friends! Such a throwback arcade that reminds me of where everyone used to hangout in the late 70s/early 80s. We all had a great time and can't wait for another game night!

The atmosphere is always relaxed here. There are a ton of pinball machines and the prices are very reasonable. The bartenders are friendly and quick. There is a side patio toward the back left of the building with views of the city, too.

Always a good time when coming here. Super laid back, nice beer selection. Can't bet the price for having some fun !

What a blast! We played pinball for hours and didn't break the bank to do so. We didn't eat or drink so I can't vouch for that :)

You won't find a better arcade bar anywhere! The staff is incredibly friendly. The techs work hard to keep the machines in great condition! Truly one of a kind??

Five stars are not enough. This place is awesome. It's frictionless fun for 80's 90's 00's gamers. All games have cup stands for beers and coins. Cash is not an issue as you can pay with card for quarters. Chill out room with Nintendo 64 and tons of arcade and pinball games

Cool spot. Most of the games are pinball so be prepared for that! Great spot for a date night or a smaller group of friends. There was a Vietnamese food truck when I went. Loved their Thai tea

Best Barcade I've ever been to! And the second best retro arcade I've been to ever outside of Funspot in NH and the value to coins/cash is really fantastic. Great local business to support!

This is a great arcade bar. Drink prices trend on the high side but the games are super cheap and well maintained. Top 3 Arcade bars I have ever visited.

Abari is such a great spot. Lots of different drink selections, liquors, cocktails, beers, seltzers & N/A beverages. They do have a homemade hot pocket kind of thing made by a local company but that's it for food inside. They usually have a food truck outside. Amazing selection of pinball machines and other games. They have a coin machine that you can use a card with. Games are reasonably priced and there's a few free ones as well! The staff is great and friendly. Love Caitlyn behind the bar!! This place is

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! The staff was wonderful, and the "regulars" made very friendly conversation about pinball and arcades, so we felt right at home. At .50 per game, you can play for hours here and barely spend more than $10, even at a novice level. There aren't a lot of places that have so many wonderfully working 90s machines! None of them are set particularly difficult, so it's definitely a great bar to come hang out if you're trying to get better at playing games- especially pinbal

Had a great night tonight at Super Abari Game Bar, in Charlotte. We were just in for a short family vacation and decided to find some local pinball and they had a great lineup. Games were in great shape, and only 50 cents a play, so my wife and I played a couple hours on $20. Bar staff was great, nice cocktail menu, and a good beer selection. Highly recommend!

That glow up though. The new spot reveals a very club/cruiseship like essence where you're greeted with the doorman and bar and then opens up to the game floor. Their selection of old school vs. new school games is unparalleled. Parking is pretty easy with lots next door and a lot across the street. Stop in and lose yourself in the symphony of great games and good times.

The arcade was amazing 10/10 recommend the reason why it's only four stars is because one game had broken but overall very good place for family!

If you are into pinball you don't want to miss this spot. It is exactly what you want to find when going to a pinball bar. All of the pinball games I played were in working order. They had lots of classics and new games too. The selection of local beers made up for the lackluster cocktails.

Wow, what a great arcade bar! Everyone was really nice, the games were in very good condition, and some of the older ones were on free play, which is a nice touch. Amazing getting to play Defender on a real machine again, gave me chills! They've got lots of pinball machines, from a broad time range (they had an old mechanical one, some revamped solid state classics like The Addams Family and Medieval Madness, up to a very recent Stern Jaws machine). Very fun place, 100% coming back here the next time I'

They sure are serious about their pinball but it's a good time any day of the week. Also, the price per play is extremely competitive.

Great place if you like to play pinball. They have an excellent collection of classics and the latest and greatest Sterns. Prices were very reasonable. I took my daughter on a Sunday afternoon and we both had a great time.

Fun and very unique (for CLT, anyway) place for adults and kids alike, even if it seems like a secret supper club based on the strange website and complete inability to contact them by phone. Huge selection of old school video games and the biggest selection of pinball I have ever seen. Be careful because you can burn through a lot of cash very quickly. I went with my two kiddos, ages 9 and 2.5. The 9 year old loved it. The place was definitely not geared for toddlers, but we made do (he enjoyed putting th

Very fun barcade with tons of games an drinks to keep you busy for an evening. The pinball collection was a really impressive!

Abari is my favorite place/bar in Charlotte, hands down. My husband and I frequent it often; sometimes 3 times a week (we love pinball, etc). Every bartender that works there is so kind. The pinball/arcade machines are always in perfect working order. There's always something new to do or some unique event going on. There's usually a great food truck, or you can get a hot pocket at the bar. Perfect. Honestly, a home away from home that I'm beyond glad exists. Charlotte is so much better because of this plac

So much fun!! The mocktails are amazing and they have the best rhythm game I've played yet

Great combination of pinball and arcade games. Drink prices are very reasonable. The owner Zach goes out of his way to make all his patrons feel welcomed regardless of their gaming skill level.

Wonderful arcade bar. I've visited numerous arcades in Las Vegas, Asheville, Chicago and Atlanta, this place is top notch. Lots of classic arcade, shooting, and music games. 37 pinball machines in good condition including Indiana Jones, Halloween, Willy Wonka, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Stranger Things. While I was there (on a Saturday night) not a single pinball machine was out of service. The place is open till 2am like a true bar, and offers liquor in addition to beer and nonalcoholic beverages.

I had an amazing afternoon here with my family while in town for a wedding. The bartender was awesome and recommended great restaurants around. A diverse selection of arcade and pinball games with my top favorites: Deadpool, Godzilla, and Midevil Madness on the the floor. $10 in game tokens kept me busy for a while!

One of the best arcades I've ever been to! I came mainly for the pinball and the machines were all in fantastic condition. I encountered very few notable issues while playing. I'll definitely be returning if I'm in the area again.

Food Truck for great variety of fries and empanadas. The drinks were nice! Wish there would be a little more a variety for the games.

This is a really fun spot. Lifetime membership is only $1 and arcade games are 25 - 50 cents to play. They have an area set up with a tv, couch, and old school gaming systems (Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64) where you can play all the classics for free. It's a really nostalgic feel. The place also has a bar, I recommend the Princess Peach!

One of the last places you can find many classic arcade games and pinball machines. I found Mars Attacks! The bartenders are pretty awesome too.

Dropped in because we found it on the Mill District map. Good beer, friendly staff, big selection of games especially pinball. We've been to ?barcades ? in Raleigh, Portland, rock Hill, this is the cleanest we have ever experienced. We will be back with friends.

This place was really fun! The drinks are reasonably priced, the games are plentiful & nostalgic. Hubby & I went there Saturday evening with some work friends, & the place was packed. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I have an 8 year old who would love this place, so I will have to lookout for your 'kid friendly' hours so she can partake in the arcade fun too! Will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, fun games (including dozens of pinball machines), amazing staff and owners. The games are affordable and kept in great condition and they swap them out fairly regularly so I get to play something new each time I go. They regularly have a food truck out front if you need a snack to go with your drink!

We went for a Maker?s Market and LOVED it! It was a Sunday, I brought my nieces & nephew (15 & 9), and they've already asked to go back. They have a great selection of pinball and other games, plus some gaming consoles set up at TVs to use. They use tokens, most games take 2, and I only spent $20 on the 4 of us and we had a great time. The bartenders were super nice and helpful, and they give free refills on kids soda. They drinks were really nice- homemade syrups and such- and relatively inexpensive. Ca

My favorite arcade bar in town. Has a ton of the best pinball games around. Also has other arcade games which are good too. There is a five vs. five Queen Bee joust type game that is super easy to learn and highly addictive. They also have a fast draw game that is great fun too. Beer options are good and they also have super cheap PBR!!

This place is awesome! Great games, people, smoking area and PBR tall boys! They had one of my favorite fighting games from my teenage years, Time Killers!! A rare find!

Great place! Loads of pinball and classic games. Drinks are reasonable and bartenders quick. Many classic games like Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man are set to free play.

We had a wonderful experience! If you like arcade games, then you'll love this place. The staff are nice n friendly. Some games are free! We would definitely recommend this barcade for first timer?s!!!

Definitely love going to this place since Abari game bar closed down. This is a cute little spot to hang with friends or go on a first date. Didn't give 5 stars because the place is a little small so the game options are limited and there are a lot more pinball machines than necessary. But overall decent game selection, good priced drinks and fun retro games.

Loved this place , great selection of games and impressive collection of pinball machines, was definitely impressed

Awesome. Liquor. Beer. Video games. It's own parking lot. what more do you want? This place is perfect. Owner Zach is a great human and owner and cares about the community around his bar and those who come in. Awesome bar. Awesome crowd. Awesome bartenders. Awesome drinks. I love Abari.

Overall a fun little place and enjoyed the vibes all together here

amazing place for nostalgic game play

No food to rate, except for the local made hot pockets which are great

Wow, this place is a must see. If you want to go back to some old school video arcade this is the best place to go. All the games were in excellent condition. My 2 adult sons and I got $40. Worth of tokens and spent the next 3 hours playing. This place even had a bar!!! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Super Abari Game Bar is a gem for arcade enthusiasts! The wide selection of pinball machines and arcade games guarantees hours of fun. Their daily drink specials are a bonus, and the outside patio adds to the vibrant atmosphere. Great spot to hang out with friends and unleash your inner child!

Been wanting to play initial d stage 8 Infinity for awhile now and I literally had a blast playing this game. The staff at super abari are super friendly and helpful.this place is a must visit if your in Charlotte

We visited from out of town to go for my bday and the doorman was great, the barman was great and the games WERE AWESOME I got relive my childhood and try new games I've never seen 10/10

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?
