Sun Mountain Fun Center

Sun Mountain Fun Center

Reviews Summary

Overall, Sun Mountain Fun Center is highly praised for its diverse entertainment options (bowling, arcade, go-karts, laser tag) and family-friendly atmosphere, with many calling it a great value. Staff are often described as friendly and helpful, though a few reviews note occasional poor service. Food quality receives mixed feedback—some love the pizza, while others criticize burgers and wait times. Common complaints include long lines, understaffing during peak times, and occasional equipment issues (warped pool sticks, slow go-karts). Most visitors enjoy their experience despite minor drawbacks, with many planning return visits. Negative incidents (like the laser tag assault) are rare but notable. Recent updates post-COVID have improved the venue.

Customer Reviews

This place is super cool. Hands down best laser tag I have ever played. Best equipment, functioned the way it was supposed to with no issues. Mini golf is an awesome course just watch that you go the right way from hole 8-9. Staff was super friendly. Go carts are not the best and feel over priced for value but in no way offset all the awesome aspects of this place. We did not eat, bowl or get to do the bumper cars because they were shut down but we had an amazing time.

Great fun and great prices! Kids all had a blast !!

Great place to take the family for bowling, video games, go karts, mini golf... BUT, they definitely need to get better food, bowling lane food/drink service, and more points of sale so customers aren't waiting in line for 10+minutes to get beer/soda/food. A QR code that links to a POS or an app for easy ordering would make this place 5 stars.

We have the best time bowling here! Kids love the pizza and ice cream too.

See Below??for my ADULT tip! The Good- My partner and I come here once a month or so. We've got no kids, but it's a lot of fun here. We get some beers, shoot aliens, play air hockey. Nice to take your mind off things here. The kids will get enough tickets here to get some good loot unlike other places like this. The Bad- Hope you're not hungry, as the prices for food don't make a lot of sense here, and it doesn't taste great. Plus, set-up is all wrong at register - see tip. The Tip- Eat elsewhere first (

I had my older teens b-day party here. Spend probably $300+. Then I find out they signed the "anti-woke pledge" to be listed as such a business, with pseudo-american values. If a business seeks and signs this it is NOT BY ACCIDENT: they actively wanted to be listed there. I came with my neurodiverse teenager and his neurodiverse friends. Never again will we set foot in this place. And also the word will be spread in the diverse and loving and accepting part of the community that they should not either. I am

I went here with some friends on a whim to have some fun at the arcade. We were surprised to find that the price to play many games has gone up so much in recent years. It's hard to justify spending a dollar or more on a less than 30 second experience- Especially considering many games are broken, or don't work properly. On multiple occasions, we tried to play a game, only to find it didn't work at all, but still took our money. On top of that, the prize counter had abysmal options with ridiculous ticket

Its okay. It took almost an hour to get an order of fries. They were over cooked. It seemed as if the staff didn't even want to be there, not one friendly person. But my client enjoyed bowling.

Definitely would love to come again was sooo much fun for all ages golf was so pretty and laser tag was awesome too I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a good time

Lots to do, the card options are good value. You get to do a little bit of everything with them. Lots of activity going looks like they either adding or remodeling some things. Some games seem a bit steep in price. 20.00 goes very fast and then the return on tickets is pretty poor. Didn't try the food. The outdoor putting was busy and a few people were bowling. Didn't stay that long.

Not sure if the place is under new management or not but we likely won't be going back after last night which is sad because we like going there for birthdays or just a fun night of bowling. The seating area was filthy with melted chocolate ice cream on the cushions and the floor as well as a couple of fries on the floor, food crumbs and spilled juice or soda that had dried a sticky, black mess. This sticky substance was also in several places in the approach area and the lanes hasn't been oiled in I don't

Fun place for kiddos. The one thing is the waite. Not sure why they have two machines to pull out money, when there are 20 people in line, and only one works. The could make it a better experience to have more tellers and access to play. But overall kids loved it

This place is explicitly right-wing. Avoid at all costs if you are a minority, it's not worth the overly inflated costs to risk your personal safety. This place refuses to do birthday parties the way every other "amusement" locale does, despite birthdays being mentioned on their sign. There is always a large amount of trash on their side of the fence along the highway. Zero trust in this establishment or those who run it. Just go to lava lanes.

Great place for childs birthday party 15$ a head they get pizza pop bumper cars bowling and 4 dollars in game tokens. Not to mention the party tom with the king or queen's throne. Plus a friendly and enthusiastic party boss to keep every thing organized and on schedule.

Sun Mountain is like the Family Fun Center of my childhood scaled down & combined with a bowling alley. Hours of operation are less than usual & understandable these days. But in all these years since they opened I've never seen a line out the door like today (3/12/22). Hopefully everyone remembers to be patient & kind to the employees.

Update 4/2024. More than ever this place is awesome. New bowling. Remodeled arcade. Somehow they came out better than ever pay pandemic. This place was great for kids and families. Great selection of fun things for kids plus beer and food too. Safe and had good prices for all the activities. Arcade had newer games. Overall fun for the whole family.

Had a blast spending a family night out at Sun Mountain Fun Center. Wasn't super busy and pretty much had run of everything! Have had a couple unhappy visits but they've done some excellent food, game and system updates since COVID shut downs, first time back since before 2020.

Very nice family environment. Big bowling area and very challenging mini golf course. Arcade has a lot of ticket games and some big name arcade games to play with friends and family. They also have gocarts and batting cages.

Took my grandkids. The pizza was amazing. Lots to do. They had a blast bowling, laser tag, and playing in the arcade.

Went to go ride go karts with my kiddos and was told after driving 30 mins there that they are only open on the weekends when there websites says it was open. Lifted with some mad and sad kiddos. Please update your website

Cool place to kill a few hours...but DONT EVER EST THEIR BURGERS. I have no clue what was on my $16 Mushroom and Swiss, literally made me throw up before I even left the place.

Food was meh. Pizza is better than lava lanes but was pretty dry. And my burger was meh as well. Staff was at least nice and cool

This place came out and said they support the ?anti-woke pledge.? I personally believe that businesses like this should not lean towards a political party. It's disappointing for me because I used to hang out with friends here.

Holy crud this place has gone downhill. None of the employees seem like they even know where they are. Kegs were set wrong - wrong beer. Every request was a ten minute wait. Even for shoes Bowling game ended early due to bug. Used to be the family hangout. I doubt we will be back.

This place is a shitshow. Both kiosks for game cards down, wont issue cards at counter. Lines out the door due to not enough employees. I could go on.

Great family friendly place to take the kiddos or friends. They have all the typical arcade games and some cool vintage kid rids when you first walk in. Good service, tasty Americana food. Bowling area was organized and sanitized between each group was up to play, they had every 3rd lane open to keep a good distance between groups that were bowling.

My son was assaulted during laser tag. Some punk kid got mad that he shot him and bashed my son in the back of the head with the laser gun. The employees could care less when he said something. He had a goose egg

We played mini golf and the arcade. They were both fun! Kids had a great time. Only bummer was we waited a while for an employee to help us at the ticket counter once we were done at the arcade. But once someone finally came over to help us they were very nice and polite. All in all it was a good time.

Almost $100 for one pizza and bowling. The pizza was ruined first time, lucky enough they didn't give too much grief, but for complaining they gave us cold fries. If I spend $26+ on a PEPPERONI pizza, it better at least have toppings on all pieces. The first one has 4 pieces completely void of even sauce, they tried to pass it off. And $50 for bowling... I don't want to go out anymore.... This is why.

We were honestly surprised at how much fun we had! We enjoyed bowling, mini golf and arcade games and we felt it very easy to spend a few hours. The mini golf course was a blast and had a great variance in difficulty of holes. However, it stacked up quickly as some of the holes were really tough and groups over two were taking awhile to move through them! Bowling was fun and we enjoyed getting to pick the background on our score screen! The arcade was small but had a wide variety of games. We put $20 on our

Great family fun!! Wonderful place to bring the whole family for affordable fun! Bowling is cheap the pizza is fair priced and the staff was amazing.

What an awesome place!!! Bowling, arcade, huge area to sit and eat, highly recommend their pizza - sooo good! The go-karts were closed, so maybe next time! The bumper car area was pretty small, but awesome that it was indoors. Arcade had a pretty good selection of games. Overall great experience and will definitely be back!

Overpriced and hardly any working games. Disappointing. Go karts not open. Batting cages not open.

I know nothing is really the same as when we were little. I grew up going to this place, but I guess was just really underwhelmed bringing my daughters here. It was very dirty, lots of things broken down and unorganized. Not very much quality for your dollar with any activity. We really feel like the staff was annoyed with everyone.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Our family has always called it ?The Ticket Place? because it was too hard for us to say the actual name hahaha. To me, one of the biggest factors of having fun there growing up was the tickets. For children, it's so much more fun to have a wad of tickets than the system at Sun Mountain now, trying to understand the concept of checking their little credit card with some number on it. It's completely taken away a huge part of the experience. For a time, at

We have always loved this place! The new connect four basketball game was super fun. My only issue was it used to be tokens and you could win lots of tickets on certain games. It is very hard to win tickets now.

This is hands down the funnest place to enjoy family time together. The bowling lanes are fantastic the food has gotten healthier and better in the last year. The go-karts and mini golf and Gaming Center are excellent. There's so much to do you cannot take it in and an afternoon. Some of our best family times have been at this bowling alley. We have five kids that still love going there as adults with us.

Had a blast was visiting my daughter after 5 years she brought us here great prices and service great food and fast ??

Indoor games were an amazing price but on the flip side outdoor games were too pricey. Definitely do bumper cars it's a lot of fun for all ages. Also try a family night package it makes the visit more worthwhile!

Been coming here for YEARS! The VR and Laser tag are a nice addition! Our go karts kept stalling and our bowling lane was glitchy! But other than that, it's a fun place for the family!

My wife and I, (52) took our niece and nephew (13&15) for a little fun and gave each of us $20. We had so much fun! We've been here before and had fun as well. It took us over an hour to blow thru our $20 but we brought the kids back home with big smiles on their faces..

Only did the mini golf course, very fun! Lots of scenery and different plants / trees. Unfortunately go karts were closed, but seemed like a great area for multiple activities!

What happened to this place? You really can't be open past 8pm on weekends? There is over 150,000 ppl here with tourist. Get it together! By your awful response, the low staffing is probably due to very poor management. No wonder no wants to work there!

Great mini golf course, with easy and challenging holes. Clubs and balls are sanitized. Good for kids over 8 or so.

It was an OK place to take the kids at the last minute. It was shoddy service compared to most places. Until I took into account the age of the employees. All the employees I saw were young adults, which I was happy to see. After that realization, I lower my expectations a bit and enjoy myself.

Sun Mountain is one of the funnest places to spend time in Bend oregon. The lanes are fantastic the environment is great there's usually not a weight The shoes aren't in too bad a shape And the variety of games to play is Unmatched. The food is darn good and the beer is great. I'd highly recommend this for adults or an entire family.

A Dave and Busters place mixed with Chuck e cheese was a great place to visit

Great place to take the kid! Could probably spend all day there. Pros: -helpful staff -everything was very clean -affordable rates -great, organized section of bowling balls -lots of choices: arcade games, bowling, laser tag, go karts, bumper cars -lots of activities for different ages -food was pretty good -cleaning person was prompt to wipe down/sanitize surfaces -short wait time for food -TVs kept kids entertained when waiting for their turn to bowl Cons: -lanes are not oiled very well Advice: -buy yo

The new renovations are great the new added games and virtual reality are so much fun. I love the virtual reality game with zombies was a blast. I've never done anything with virtual reality but it was so easy. A revised menu and drink selection was a really nice addition. So many activities to do here. The only 2 issues were the lack of employees available to help customers and the hours of operation are to short now. They used to be open till late on the weekends and open 7 days a week but now only op

Pool tables need help, But the bowling alleys are beautifully polished.

SUN SUN FUN FUN! A family favorite. Kids enjoy the arcade and bowling. It's a great snowy day location.

This small center offers loads of fun. From bumper cars, to bowling, to arcade that even has some 25 cent games, there is something for everyone in your family.

Big place lots of space lots to do and rely nice employees even when its super hectic they never make it seem like you are bothering them

Hot day in the area so we tried this fun center. Bowling was updated. Staff were cleaning all around. Video games all working. A solid stop for families to enjoy some AC...

Fun for the whole family!!! Laser tag coming soon!! We are excited for that!

Love this place! Their new laser tag is so fun. Great for most ages even my 5 year old daughter does well with it. Great lay out for the parents and older crowd to enjoy a night out as well. Not just a kid focused but kids love every thing about it as well. Definitely recommend.

I'm wonderful place to have a little fun The bowling is cheap

Love the new games, prices are decent but overall the new atmosphere is cool! My favorite game too play is still the jurassic park game, definitely a classic. The new games are also very fun to play

It's a really fun spot. But the lines to get food and drink can be really outrageous sometimes. I wish they had a better system. Also they only have 2 kiosks to load the play cards for the arcade and so that line can be really long also. But fun arcade and lots of other activities to do that I have yet to experience, but I plan on it at some point.

Great service and very clean. There were plenty of game choices, lots of lanes and great drinks. The only complaint is that we were charged twice for our game of bowling. This was not enough to stop us from wanting to come back however.

There was tons to do and I loved that my three year old could do the bumper cars on her own. The mini golf was fun but the farm equipment was not very safe for little kids to be around. It seemed like a tetanus shot waiting to happen for my three year old but she loved playing with her own golf ball and club. The food I ordered was not good. I had a "california" bowl and did not like it at all. It was obvious that they microwaved the rice and imitation crab. Yuck. The deep fried corn dog and fries we

They were all super friendly staff.

We dropped by for a round of miniature golf and were treated to 18 holes thereof. No waiting on a Thursday afternoon, the staff were friendly and efficient, the other putters on the course were chill, and a good time was had. The tastefully creative use of vintage farming and manufacturing equipment on the golf course was a nice touch as well.

We enjoyed it there. The people working there were pleasant and helpful. Lots of things to do. Shooting pool, batting cage, bowling, go carts, video games. Decent prices. We'll be back for another fun time for sure.

This place is an awesome place to take our niece and nephew out and still enjoy ourselves as well! Adult entertainment and fun for the little ones too, it doesn't get any better than a cheese pretzel an soft-serve ice cream cone and big huge smiles on the kids faces from all the sensory overloaded games!!!!! Got to love feeling like a kid at any age!

We put our name on bowling and waited over an hr and we never had our buzzer go off. We went up and said something, and they said they were full, no apologies, or nothing. Front staff did not want to work there, it seemed like. P

Great time for our 9-year-old and all her friends. They have bowling, mini putt-putt, bumper cars, VR, video games, and a snack counter with hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries.

This place is amazing! Great indoor fun on a hot day. Decent pricing, and the arcade has games that cater to all ages. They do have height requirements for go-carts and other activities but you won't be disappointed if you can't do those just yet. Pricing was decent for the amount of fun and laughs you can have as a family! Staff was friendly and helpful.

Went bowling and did the arcade it was pretty awesome

Kids had a great time, but the food line was awful. Despite major basketball and wrestling events happening on the same weekend, they were not staffed appropriately to handle the crowds 45 min-hour wait times just to order. Kids got to play while adults ordered food. Highly recommend as long as you don't visit on a major tournament weekend.

On the Fun Scale, this is 5 stars and 10/10!!! However on the customer service side...it's regrettably poor. I planned a child's birthday and purchased over $500 dollars worth of credit/gift cards. On their website they offer bonus value when purchasing specific amounts. The manager told me they did not honor it in person. I asked if it would be easier to just order it online then and receive it from them. She informed me that, "I am the only one that can approve them and I'm pretty busy so you may not get

I told manager that our pretzel was very hard and not edible and that we paid 10 dollars to play pool with every single stick being extremely warpped.. and she did absolutely nothing. Said thank you for the feedback.

Okay service. Majority of arcade games worked fine. I don't mind a wait when I am told the wait time. Was told 30 minute wait for bowling. A full hour later was again told oh just 30 minutes longer. 2 hours of total wait time before I was able to bowl. This would not be an issue if I was told an actual estimated wait time. The employees working never actually thought it would be as short as I was told.

Fun place to take your family. Really busy during the weekends. Bowling could be a little bit better though. When bowling with your kids they usually like the bumpers up. The bumpers don't synchronize so you are stuck with bumpers up all the time or down all the time. You would think you could cater to both parties. All in all great place to hang out. They really need to put one in Redmond.

The bowling and arcade have always been alot of fun. My friend and I took our kids to play mini golf for the first time and that is a pathetic course. It was covered in debris and water puddles. The putters were more crooked than a politician and it's in general dirty and very very dated. I definitely wont ever do that part of sun mountain again unless they give it a little love and make it significantly less ghetto. You are located in Bend, gotta get with the times.

Seen it off the highway and decided to go right then. Kids had a blast. They absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave. Wasn't too terribly expensive and plenty to do. We will definitely be going again.

Absolutely fun for the family go carts video games bowling beer batting cages.

This place is super awesome, lots of fun for all. Cosmic bowling is a riot, go carts are fun but a little slow for my tastes.

I had heard some horror stories from my mom, but honestly, this place ain't bad. The garlic fries we ordered while bowling were a little lackluster, but I ain't losing sleep over it. It's not a bad place to hang out if you don't mind the cacophony of kids.

We had so much fun, we went 2 days in a row. I was only in town for a few days to visit grandkids and this was where we spent the time. They have so much to do here and the package option was so reasonable but we actually ran out of time and didn't even get to do all the options that was included in the package. The bowling and the putt putt golf are lengthy activities, so if you get the package that comes with all the activities, you might want to make sure you've got plenty of time for all of it. We did

Pretty solid place to take a family with kids (and adults) of all ages to play arcades, laser tag, bowl, and more. And they have beer! They took advantage of the pandemic to update aspects of their facility, and it looked like they're upgrading the bar area to expand to quite a few taps. The laser tag center was impressive, with both the layout and the equipment (the best we've seen by far). We did not get to try out the go karts (looked relatively short) or miniature golf (looked pretty interesting) bu

The family and myself were visiting from California and I've heard about Californians not being loved in oregon lol but let me say we had a blast at sun mountain! We were greeted with smiles left and right. We went on a Sunday night and the go carts were empty!! So we had a few spins, did a round of bowling and ended the night with the arcade. Drove back to our airbnb and realized my son's phone was missing traced it back to sun mountain but unfortunately they were already closed and didn't open until Wedne

Great experience at the go carts. It was my son's first time. Those running the course were very kind and patient. Took the time to go over everything about the go carts with him. Will be coming back soon.

Brought my 19 and 20 yr old and we all had a blast! VR was lots of fun. Good arcade games. Bowled one of my best games in a long while, only downer was GoKarts were closed on the day

The family had fun once we got checked in. The staff were courteous and friendly but very short staffed. They did the best they could so not a big deal to me food was good but it all came down to the kids. And they had a GREAT TIME!

Our family enjoyed this location, we tried the go karts, laser tag, and batting cage, which were all fun. Everyone there was kind and respectful.

Had a blast here. Took 9 and 10 yo daughters here for bowling while visiting Bend on Spring Break. Bowling prices super reasonable. Decided to opt for Laser Tag instead of spending money on arcade and they loved it.

Best daddy daughter date! She had a blast, and honestly so did I! ??

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
