It all was okay. The service was slow but fine. The food was just okay as well. The arcade is VERY expensive. $20 was gone in minutes. A majority of games are likely several dollars per game. I didn't do the math of points to dollars per game. Bowling is a good deal though. $40 for a lane for an hour + $5 shoes per person. I'd return to just bowl but it's unlikely we will return to bowl.
Taking a moment to thank Luci/the Stratosphere team for making our event a success! The space was appealing, staff was friendly/timely (shout out our server, Amaya), and the food/drinks were great (we ordered pizzas, wraps, and a fruit platter). Our group loved the backyard space where we could decorate ahead of time and play the various active games like corn hole, bocci ball, and jenga. I recommend hosting your next event here!
So, perfectly fine place to go ax throwing. They have the same games/ boards as elsewhere. The service is great, and they have a full bar. The bowling lanes looked nice, but we weren't able to try them as they said they didn't have any available during 'social hour' (after two attempts on separate weeks, despite there being MANY empty lanes). The prices are quite high. But here's the reason I won't be going back - the food is comically bad! The bacon (see pic) on my burger was refrigerator cold. The white
Stratosphere, an indoor gaming center, offers a great experience for families, especially during the summer season. Our experience at Stratosphere in Eldersburg, Maryland, was enjoyable. The center is relatively new and not overly crowded, allowing us to explore all the games and try out axe throwing for the first time. Among the games, the huge race car simulation was our favorite. For all you Cruisin? race car game enthusiasts, it was even better than the real thing. While the service seemed a bit slow
Great place for the Eldersburg area. If you have kids or you're just looking for a hangout spot for you & your significant other...this is it. Call it an ALL in one.
The bowling, arcade, movie, etc. are all great! That gets 5 stars. The flatbread gets 1 star. That's a LOT of severely undercooked cheese there ?? Maybe cut the cheese in half and double the bake time. I hope the rest of their food is better.
What a fun place , with a good variety of activities for everyone. You can bowl, play arcade games, watch sports, have birthday parties or just hang out with some good drinks. The atmosphere is very lively, can get a bit noisy especially when kids party going on. Highly advise the parents keep a close watch on the runners so they don't get hurt. The bar food were surprisingly tasty, especially the chicken wings, the meat falls off the bone and flavor is on point. Since they have a full bar, so any drinks
We went for my best friends birthday and were definitely disappointed. Walked in at 6:15 to eat with axe throwing reservations at 8pm. Service was very slow and all over the place. Food was okay, I liked the build your own bowl option as I'm trying to eat healthier these days. Went back for Ace throwing and the 2 guys working back there are the only reason we enjoyed it. The 4 of us ordered beers, 3 of us got our drafts but my fianc?s bottle of miller lite took almost 45 minutes to come and we were give the
If I could give this zero stars I would. We came to play at the arcade with our 2 year old and paid for the 30 minutes of arcade play. There is probably a total of 30 games available. Of those games, this card only allows you to play on the ?blue? machines. The blue machines are about half of this. We played one game and walked to find another where we noticed most of the machines out of order, when we found another ?blue? machine, we scanned and the game didn't allow us to play. We tried 3 more times with
"meh" Experience for a Christmas party. Came here for company Christmas party. There was quite a bit to do but the service for our drinks was woefully slow. About 45 minutes to get our drinks served. After that it got a bit better. We has a buffet which was well ... you know ... a buffet at a entertainment place. A solid 5 out of 10. The place is Huge with lots to look at and do. Since our company is mostly singles I think that worked out well however the couples would have much preferred a nice res
This place is a great time. There is lots to do and the employees couldn't be nicer. It is always a great experience. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun place to chill
Chelsea was amazing! She was so attentive and personable; my kids loved her! I recommend this place to anyone who is trying to plan a birthday party or just a fun night. I tell them "Always ask for Chelsea!"
The buffalo chicken dip and barbecue chicken quesadilla were both awesome. The nachos and pizza were just OK. Cool place to hang out and let the kids play. Bowling and arcade are both good size. Great drink selection too.
Quiet on a Tuesday evening. We had fun bowling. The VR was ok, but not great. I will try axe throwing next time. Great lunch and happy hour game specials.
Went for a family day out and the experience couldn't have been more horrible. Let's start with check in. Wanted to do axe throwing. Yes it's 15+ and I had two high schoolers with me but because they are under 16, they don't have ID and didn't have their school ids so they said no. So we asked what a school ID would do since it doesn't prove age. No response but we said its fine so we said bowling. One person said three hour wait and the person next to them said no wait. How is this even possible. Two worke
I originally reviewed Stratosphere with a 1 star rating for service. A HUGE thank you to Hillary for reaching out via email and providing her cell phone number so that we could discuss and remedy a situation that occurred yesterday. This is how a company should treat their patrons! Thank you!
Elizabeth was amazing! Wonderful service, very informative and plesent. The experience as a whole was great! Good deals, clean and a really fun time. We will definitely be back!
We took our son here for his 9th birthday and had a blast! Tuesday is half off bowling, we got a lane right away, the food was great, their flat bread pizzas are delicious and our son said it was the best burger he had in a long time. The arcade is great too with lots to offer and they give you refillable cards for the kids to use. Ax throwing wasn't open, but overall I highly recommend!!
Took the kids to get out of the house. We all got the hour play cards and wasn't told that they only work on some machines which limited us to only about 5 games. Got a table to sit and eat and we waited for 30 minutes and nobody ever came to serve us. We saw people who were sat after us and they had their food and drinks and we still never had a waitress/waiter come to our Table, or even address us. When we were sat the hostess told someone on her little mic that she sat a table. We ended up just leaving a
For starters, I love Stratosphere Social. We always have a wonderful time. Paige helped us in the front. She is really kind and supportive. My husband and I came here for axe throwing. We were supported by the lovely Elizabeth. She taught us how to be safe, made us laugh, and made sure we had fun. Of course we will be back! The service, fun times, and positive atmosphere make this place so special.
Came here to bowl for my husband?s birthday and for a nerf war for my son?s birthday. Great fun both times but I really think it's because of the exceptional staff! Want to shout out Amaya, Chelsea, Blake and Ben for taking care of us and helping us create great memories to last a lifetime ??
My husband and I had a 10th birthday party for our daughter. It was the best. We worked with the party coordinator Luci who was wonderful. She assisted us with picking a birthday package that was suitable for our lil guest and for the attending adults. The packages included bowling, nerf gun war, the arcade games which included Vr tokens, Axe throwing for the adults, 3 party room rental, rooftop rental for the adults, the green room rental for extra seating and a great food menu for the kids and plenty of
We had a lot of fun here for our date night. Love the new look of the place and how it went from a trampoline place to fun for everyone in the family to enjoy. The bar is very nice with lots of TV screens going. Could be a cool place to watch football games this fall. The food is excellent and I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be that good. Obviously, things are a bit different now with COVID, but this is definitely will be a place we go to again! We did bowling for an hour. The lanes are great and a
Had an amazing time at Stratosphere Social for my birthday! My family surprised me with a party there, and it turned out to be such a great experience. The food was better than expected, wings and pizza were solid choices. The arcade had a ton of fun selections, and I highly recommend trying the Godzilla VR and Jurassic Park games. The eight-person VR setup was a blast too! On top of all that, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They made sure everything ran smoothly and checked on us to make su
Our kids were required to pay for a cracked ball that was not their fault. Management did not handle the situation appropriately. I would not recommend going to a place that places blame of damaged items on kids!
I called to check on prices of the trampolines and was spoken to very rudely and hung up on. In your photos it shows pictures of trampolines. He insisted there were none. I tried to let them know there was, so they could be removed and folks wouldn't ask if there were trampolines and he hung up on me. He also spoke over me the whole time. Very rude and disrespectful!
My wife and I recently decided to go to Stratosphere Social for a night out. We used to take the kids there to jump on the trampolines, but haven't been back since the rebranding . What a great decision it turned out to be for a fun date night! From the time we got there Natalie at the front desk was taking great care of us. She told us about our options for gaming, axe throwing, and the 4D theater. She was very friendly, not at all pushy, and really knew what she was talking about. We ended up having a
We brought our summer campers for the trampolines and arcades. We had a family birthday party in the bowling area. We enjoyed the food several times over the past few months. The new Stratosphere Social is a homerun for Carroll County!
The food could definitely be better. Most of it tastes like it's was frozen and just thrown in the oven. Took forever for our food to come. The games could be better, kinda outdated. It could be a better experience if they upgraded the food and games
I didn't get to try the food but the drinks were good. Friendly staff clean atmosphere. Fun Games.
My kids have attended two birthday parties here and have really enjoyed it. It's very clean and pretty well maintained. The staff that is assigned to parties is very attentive. The wandering staff (or assigned to oversee areas) are pretty responsive. Definitely one of the better places in the jump party genre. Would certainly recommend.
It's absolutely true. You go as a guest, you leave his family. I was so happy with our evening.Abby was fantastic
Food 0/10 & not to mention been sick since I've ate there. Drinks 0/10, several ppl complained about drinks and we all were told they can't remake them. I was so upset i didn't even attempt to bowl or axe throw as i was highly upset about the food & drinks.
Not worth it if you are a bowler looking for some lanes, string pins is one thing, however there was virtually no oil on the lanes. Had to use my plastic spare ball the entire time and even then it would hook.
Amazing place!!! My first time, the drinks and food are beyond great!!! My family and I had the best time in this area. I will always come back back and visit this great place!!!!
Eh Dave & Busters is better. This place is small, food was very bland. I wouldn't go back. I didn't have a bad experience or anything like that, but it wasn't good enough to recommend to others or to go back.
Just Awesome, I felt like a big kid at an over the top Entertainment delight. Very clean, spacious, employees are so nice. The play passes are reasonably priced. And there are so many games to play, there's bowling, axe throwing, and even a virtual rollercoaster. Fun, Fun Fun!
Stratosphere Social is one of the coolest and most unique venues we've played. Plenty of fun activities for the entire family and prices were extremely reasonable. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We felt like kids again playing in the arcade and look forward to coming back for bowling and axe throwing!
Love it here. Great spot to take the kids on a rainy day or to have a birthday party. The kiddos love the bumper bowling!
I had Halle as my server and she was very nice.she checked on our table often ,she handled our large group pretty well.great place
Absolutely Wonderful!! Abby and the rest of the Staff are great! Its true that you go as Guests and leave as Family. We will be back!!
In May of 2022 we rented out the "Backyard" Sports area on a weeknight. We brought 15 of our senior dancers from Karen Sachs Academy of Dance to celebrate dancing together for so many years. Hillary (from the event team) was amazing to work with and pulled some strings to make this the best night ever. We bought play cards for the girls and played the outdoor games as well. The owner stopped by to say hello to us and we were so well taken care of! This is the PERFECT spot for a private party and they have s
It is so much fun here. I love the bowling. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
It was my 1st time to be inside the Stratosphere Social. It's also oir 1st networking event in almost 2 years. The manager accommodated us with all our requests to set up. I'm looking forward to my next event.
We love Stratosphere for everything. Trivia nights. Family bowling. Family gaming. School events. Birthday parties. Dinner and dessert. Whatever! The wait staff is always good. The food is way better than typical ?bar food,? and is clearly thought out well by a chef. There are always promotions or social events happening here, and there are semi-frequent staff-appreciation events where they close and focus on their team, which is nice to see, and well deserved. We will continue to routinely visit!
Trivia on Thursday nights is the best here. I just wish it was closer to where I live! Jorge was a great server. He was super attentive and friendly. 10/10 recommend!
Great staff. Good food. The jalape?o margarita was a treat.
From the moment we walked in the customer service was amazing!! I will give them that customer service is their strong suit. The food was nothing spectacular from what I could eat but not bad. However, my boyfriend noticed a creepy crawler under the table next to us and I didn't think anything of it until I went to the bathroom. I saw one roach on the ceiling and two roaches in the women?s bathroom. I came back to my table trying to finish my food (still giving it a chance) until I saw a roach on the chair
We were here for a business networking event and had a blast. Pretty cool spot, bowling, arcade games, corn hole, and AXE THROWING! (I love this new trend ??). The food is decent, lots of adult drink options, definitely worth a visit.
When we arrived the lady at the front desk was nice with explaining and answering all the questions we had. That was the only time we had someone nice. The rest of the staff wasn't friendly or attentive at all. We didn't order food because the staff said the food was terrible there. We did bowling as well, nobody came up to us while we were bowling to see if we needed any drinks, but others around us did. Staff kind of gave racist. The bowling, axe throwing, and the 3D movie were all fun though but terrible
The food is cheap easy reheat food. The food cost twice as much as expected and the portions are half of what you would expect. The servers were great. The atmosphere was loud but not crazy busy like Dave and Busters
The kids love this place! The best jump deal is on Friday and Saturday from 7-10 pm. It is a flat rate of $18 and it's glow in the dark with music.?? It also includes the Ninja warrior course and Dodge Ball!! My toddler and I have fun winning at the games while the older kids are jumping?? Gives a chance for Parents to chill too. The beats make you want to dance ????
It's a nice place to have fun and feel like a child again (if you're an adult??) Especially if you go with friends and family..it's an enjoyable experience.
Fun throwing axes!! They also have a bowling alley, virtual reality video games and a full bar! This was a great night out and we look forward to coming back!
$17 for a shot of tequila? Was there a half hour, bill was $107. Complete rip off. Good idea, awful place.
Nice place, Saturdays seem very busy, no place to sit and eat, pretty decent place for kids to play games. Bowling, Ax throwing, 3d games. Gonna try again on an off day with the grandkids to check out the menu.
I was axe throwing and Ryan was so helpful and amazing!!! Couldn't ask for a better associate!!! I highly recommend the axe throwing!
My family and I had a blast playing the arcade games and bowling. The food and drinks were amazing! Can't wait to go back and try the ax throwing!
The service was outstanding! Amaya went over and beyond for my family and made my nephew have an amazing birthday!
Absolutely fantastic service by Jorge! We had 4 separate families bowling; he was so patient as we figured out what to order and then helped us transition to a dining table from the bowling area? with all our orders of food and drink! He is such a friendly, helpful and kind person. Thanks for making our visit so very enjoyable!
Great atmosphere. Only was able to do the arcade because bowling was full. Restaurant could have better/more options, but overall good experience.
My boyfriend took me on a date here for the first time yesterday and we had such a great time. Although it isn't super big there are a lot of activities to choose from. We did axe throwing and my boyfriend missed almost every one ??. We also did the Vr experience and it was so cool they had so many realist features, like the feeling of bugs crawling on you and the feeling of rain. + we bowled there was a 2hr wait but it was worth it. They played great music and the food was so good. I recommend the Chicken
Really had a great time. Thank you to the Barback Allen. And bartender Tabitha for the great experience.
Great place to hang out, have been here may times to hang out and for events. Drinks have def improved. Axe throwing is a lot of fun. Would like to be able to reserve bowling time.
The concept is good, but management and customer service are sorely lacking and the food was nothing to write home about. We held a team building event in the backyard area. At the last minute (and only because I called to confirm we were good to go), I was told that my contact was leaving and she (POC2) would handle my event. This was said in a begrudging way and I did not get the same positive, happy to help vibe from her at all. I had chosen the burgers, dogs and sides for our lunch, and it was mediocre
Kind of like a fun house for adults, they focus on drinks and things limited to people at least 18+ or 21+. Not fun for kids or teens at all. (Boooo stinky not fun) Also their arcade sucks and they have a limited amount of games which do get very boring after an hour.
My family enjoyed ourselves but the food was mid at best. The environment was pretty cool. Some of the young people who work there were very professional, kind and helpful. Others were not. We will revisit to see if this was a one-time occurrence.
Really cool atmosphere... food was great...staff was awesome!!! Highly.... highly recommend this place for family and friends!!! ??????
Wow! I just had a really bad time going to stratosphere social. We went for my son?s birthday and planned on bowling with just the 4 of us. We were put on a 45 minute wait, so we decided to play arcade games and eat at the bar. 45 minutes rolls past, and we start to notice that new walk-in customers are being served immediately and set up with their bowling alleys. My husband stands in line to comment on our observation. The person at the front desk says ?oh yea we sent you the text just now?. He cleans off
I was here as a vendor for an event. I love how they support organizations in the community. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The buffalo chicken tots were A+. I am excited to come back to play games!
We had a great birthday party and the hosts were great. Our host waiter Jorge was awesome. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday such a wonderful and memorable time!
I cannot put to words how amazing the service was literally from the time I walked through the door. I had had a LONG and trying day, still pressed my way for a team building outing, and without knowing that I was running on fumes I was immediately greeted by Natalie who was so pleasant and welcoming that she felt like a walking hug. Here I was content with that, and then I Elizabeth just brought such a calming presence. Amaya was SO attentive and encouraging. Trust me, I hear what I'm saying, too, and can?
This place was hyped up in social media so we were interested in seeing what is was all about. I have an autistic adult daughter who loves bowling so on her birthday we decided to come here with family. We were 13 people, 3 kids, 2 teenagers and 8 adults. The website said the bowling lanes were in first come, first serve basis, which was understandable with only party packages having actual reservations. When we first stepped in it was instantly a disappointment. Social media made it seem as if it was a hug
The place looks good. However, if you just turned 21 make sure your id is not vertical. I came here for happy hour and games but was immediately turned down at the bar because mines was not horizontal. I wish I would?ve known this before driving 40 minutes. Also I looked up Maryland?s liquor license and it does not say I have to have a horizontal license.
My first time going and I went for my birthday (7/8). I had a amazing time and the young lady by the name of Lindsey was wonderful. She helped me and my friends get set up with axe throwing right before her shift was over. I thank her and her great team that was working that night! Jay was our bartender/waiter he was amazing as well! Update (8/25/2023): I have to add Katie to the list because she also assisted me for my birthday. I am here for another friend?s birthday and Lindsey again was amazing!
Best bowling alley I've ever been to! A waitress tends to your food and drink needs at the bowling lane, awesome. Rachel was super nice and very attentive. I might need to get out more, had no idea. There's more here than bowling, another visit is needed
The space was very nice. We had to wait for over an hour to get to the Ax Throwing, but once we got to throw it was extremely fun. We tried some nachos which where piled high with toppings but served cold??. The drinks were good and our service was good. We would go back
Went for the first time last week and we (two 35 year old adults and a 14 month old) loved it. The baby loved the lights and food options for kiddos and the adults LOVED the food as well. The waitress was so attentive, kind, patient, friendly, and nice as well. Highly recommend, looking forward to going back!
We had a blast at Stratosphere last week where we had a birthday party for our daughter and her friends! The place is so clean and food and drinks were delicious! Bowling lanes are blast. One disappointment was that there were several arcade games that were not working for service. JORGE was our host and was kind, super helpful, great with the kids, went the extra mile!
This place is fun for the whole family! We visited Stratosphere on a Friday night. We tried out a few drinks and appetizers during their Happy Hour which was great! We also had fun at the Axe Throwing games and Virtual Reality (7-D) game seats! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back to check out the bowling and other games.
Very disappointed with my last visit. Drove 40 min to bring my family for dinner and bowling to celebrate my moms birthday. Food was ok but bowling experience was terrible. They put 7 people on one lane even though I asked for 2 lanes. Would only let me book one hr on the lane and said I could add time when that hr was up. When I tried to add another hr I was told they were on a wait and I could of did it at the beginning, which is what I tried to do and was denied. Couldn't even finish one game with so man
We recently had our 9 year old's birthday party here and it was a fantastic experience. Collin ran the nerf war part of the party and he was great - let the kids have fun and do their thing while also monitoring for safety. Virginia was the team member assigned to our party and she was also great - brought us our food and drink requests promptly, was continually checking in, handled our spills/messes with grace (a very necessary thing with a group of 9 year old boys). It's not the cheapest place for a part
I had my birthday party here last night and let me just say it was absolutely perfect. Everyone agreed that they could not have had any more fun and they all loved it here!! Every detail was taken care of for me so I could just chill and let loose. I had two bowling lanes reserved for a 4 hour block and our server, Jay, was consistently checking in to make sure we were all having a good time and our drink/ food orders were taken care of. I also had a few appetizer platters ordered which the chef brought out
This place is awesome! From the beginning to the the end of our visit we had the best customer service given by Elizabeth at the front counter. Her energy was right on point for this Playland. If you want something fun to do anytime and with anyone stop by and be sure to have Elizabeth as your tour guide. Good customer service is so hard to find. I will deffiently be back
We came and visited during the Tuesday bowling special. While the price was reasonable the wait staff leaves much to be desired. They completely ignored our group and served every other group around us. I'm not sure why we were ignored but we were.
I can not say enough about this place. I've had my son?s last four birthdays here. Lindsay, the event coordinator, was amazing!! She was completely accommodating to all of our needs. Our server Jordan, and our bartender Tracy were great! The owner even stopped by to make sure everything was going well. The service, food, and drinks were top notch. Most importantly, my son had the best birthday. So thankful for the incredible staff and all of their hard work.
Chelsea was an amazing server and made our experience wonderful for the New Year 2025!!
Amazing service from our prompt, professional and cheerful server. About 15 ingredients were unavailable in menu items when we ordered food, but it was the day before Thanksgiving. Great selection of beer, and super fun atmosphere.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
