We had an absolute blast here this weekend!! Great place to hang out with the kiddos when it's raining!!!
Great location and selection of games. I give it 4 stars because a few games didn't have any tickets to give out, and nobody wants to hunt down a worker to get tickets. The place has an amazing atmosphere. Temperature was mid 50's so the place had a nice breeze running throughout its corridors. ??
Awesome arcade and game facility in Ocean City, MD. This place is huge and is located right on the lower end of the boardwalk. They have a large variety of games ranging from claw machines, skee ball, ticket redemption, and Arcades. You'll need to purchase a card with credits on it at the kiosk located inside. On certain games, you can win tickets that are applied to the card, which you can redeem for prizes. If you like gaming, be prepared to spend a lot of time in here having fun.
Child size casino. Lots of coin pushers and other minimal skill games of chance. Claw machines so loose you'd swear they were made of pasta. Lots of lights and loud noises meant to distract you from the $1-a-play rigged games. My kids had fun, but it was short lived by the rate this place chews through your wallet.
When there's no Dave and Buster's in the area, find the best local arcade! $50 went a long way... most games are either $1 or just $.50, so the yield was a lot of games to play. In fact, we stopped in 3 different times to use up all $50. The prizes Kyle chose definitely weren't worth $50, but it was fun time spent playing games and a couple hours worth of entertainment. Busy location even during the off-season. Lots of different games for all ages and lots of different prizes for all ages.
Too much fun! Maybe dim daytime lights for glare on machines..
Great game selection. New stuff, old stuff ( pinball) They have some really good ones for young kids as well. My daughter (2.5) had a great time at her first arcade. The guy who made change and the girl we exchanged tickets for prizes were both very friendly. They even gave my daughter a free upgrade on her prize ( a cheap wand) but she was blown away and I was impressed by the gesture.
Great fun for the kids regardless of my review. They aren't seeing what I see. Many of the machines are either broken or defective. Many of the machines take money and won't play games. The claw machines are completely rigged so you never win. The staff was very friendly.
We enjoy this arcade every time we visit! However this time, we broke a machine. Lol the employees did not mind coming over to help us multiple times, when we hit monster jackpot TWICE. They were kind when they had to replace the tickets. Highly recommend coming to this arcade!
This is my favorite arcade on the boardwalk. Some people will tell you that they're all the same with overpriced games to win tickets that get you junk prizes. But I would disagree. I say this has the best selection of games and the workers here are nice to deal with. If a game happens to have an issue you find one of them and they come right over and fix it for you. I enjoy arcades and video games in general. And like the experience of playing the games and the prizes are just an extra little bonus.
By far, our favorite arcade in Ocean City. The best prizes. The best games.
A great place to waste some time and money in hopes grabbing that plushed animal that you never knew you needed.
Great games and good prizes. Would like to see a better dollar-to-token ratio, but still plenty of fun!
The whole family had a blast!! So much fun we went back a 2nd time. We also tried other arcades (3 others) but SPORTSLAND was where it's at now! Marty's was cool too but it didn't have the same vibe as SPORTSLAND.
Another great arcade and friendly staff!
My overall is 4/5. Even though I come down to Ocean City 1 or 2 times a year, I do like coming to play the arcade games for fun and give away the tickets. But the claw machines this year didn't work or were ever able to hang on to anything long enough to get the prize. I wasn't the only one who had this problem. Last year was better seeing that 60%-70% of the time I received the prize I was aiming for. Part 2 - I understand that claw machines take skill and luck but when have the item in the claw and falls
We recently hit the double jackpot on the fish spin wheel I have it uploaded very fun arcade, uses quarters and or play card. Prizes are really cool. High recommend if you are walking the board walk
This fun arcade turned our stressful car trip (old van broke down and leaked) into a wonderful vacation. After the 3 hour car ride the event we went down there for ended up being a bad time. This arcade turned everything around. It honestly saved our trip. The staff there were SO nice, helpful, and invested in making sure customers were having fun! One of the managers named Robin was so sweet. She even let us know about where our favorite machine would be moved to for the next time we visited. The prizes we
My wife, my son and his 2 boys and myself stopped in for some arcade action. The grandchildren as well as there dad loved it. We were probably in there for over 2 hours. We all had a lot of fun. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.
Some of the games need fixing, but they did have great prizes. Claw machines are money grabbers, but have seen people win on them.. every 20 tries perhaps.
We spend hours at a time in this awesome arcade! There are many different games for kids and adults, the prizes are great, and the atmosphere is really fun! You can load funds onto a card or use cash and every game is reasonably priced. There is a great mix of vintage and new games too. We typically spend 3 out of 5 evenings here after a day on the beach and dinner out. We never get bored here! We are really hoping they are open for Thanksgiving weekend!
Staff were not helpful. There is a spinner that you can use if you have a physical ticket with the ending 3 digits 777 on it. I purchased a digital card which only gives me "digital tickets" which excluded me from participating in this hunt for a physical ticket ending in 777. I asked if I could transfer the digital tickets into physical and I was shutdown rather rudely by the manager. Her stating that "purchasing a digital card gives you bonus play" which doesn't even try to help the situation. Games here
Is awesome, they have great games a lot of game play. Great staff very nice. Nice prizes. Will be back to play
One of my favorite spots on the boardwalk. I am addicted to the Wizard of Oz game and have won many big ticket items. The staff and manager are always pleasant. This is one of my stops every day I am in OC.
Great place and a lot of fun for kids!
It's just a scam to get your money, every game is 1 dollar or more and they only give u like 10 tickets max per game. I got a magnet for like 700 tickets I spent about 20 bucks on credits. Went down the boardwalk and found the same magnet for 6.99 ??
STEAR CLEAR FROM THIS ARCADE! This place left a bad taste in my mouth after the experience I had last night?Horrible service. Broken down machines. ?Manager? with purple hair was very unhelpful and even got loud with me when I got my card stolen from the counter with everyone there. There was still money on the card and all I wanted was for her to exchange a toy my son had won in the claw machine. She refused and continued to say the machines never open?I'm not dumb i grew up going to the Jersey shore and h
My partner and I spent hours in this arcade! The staff is very friendly, funny, and amazing. They are always helpful and they have very good prizes. Games range from 25 cents to a dollar and it's definitely worth the money. In under 20 dollars my partner and I managed to acquire over 5000 tickets. Definitely worth a stop on your vacation.
We have been here 3 times now in the past 2 years, have spent over $120 and have yet to have a claw machine pay out. Read the reviews. The machines are rigged to not pick up prizes despite what the owner has posted here. The rest of the arcade is ok, only a few machines were down at the time of visit but the claw machines leave a sour taste to never come back.
Fun Fun Fun. The kids enjoyed themselves and for a reasonable price.
The place was packed. With people and game machines. There was so many machines and half of them had tape on the card swipes. There was barely enough space to breathe. The employees were talking over the phone on the loud speakers. The place was disgusting, I couldn't tell how long it had been since there was maintenance on anything. The only thing that gives this place 2 stars and not 1 is that only MOST of the claw machines were scams. We found only one machine that actually barely worked and my little br
Very cool, we won two big prices and kids were happy so happy. You will spend a lot of money to get some decent prices but the store it's clean and the AC works nicely!!!!
What a great time here at Sportland Arcade directly across from Thrasher's Fries on the boardwalk. Probably played Space Invaders for about 5 hours over a two day period. My grandchildren really got into the game as well. Won somewhere near 5000 tickets. They loved picking out their prizes. It was a great throwback since I was coming there in the early 70's. Have a great time. We did!!????
Update: thank you, didn't realize tickets are stored on the card! But still the skee ball machines we used were broken and the air hockey cut short before running out of time (locked up the puck) - change from one to two stars! Seems like half the machines are broken/none of the games give tickets (even ones that say they do) and so expensive!
SPORTLAND has the friendliest and helpful staff. Their games are well maintained and they hace great prizes
Good arcade but wizard of oz game a scam. You have to get 7 different cards to get the big ticket prize which I think 5,000 tickets. Guess what - they only put 6 of the 7 cards in the machine. There is no black dog card. Ever. Been going for 3 years twice a year and never a black dog card in the machine. Space Invaders is $1 a game but is the best value game for most tickets.
Great place to spend an hour or two when you're on the boardwalk! Made me feel like I was a teenager again! Great selection of games, though the basketball games seemed to be broken. Will definitely stop in again the next time I'm in Ocean City.
Went with my kids on 5/9/21. About 30 percent of the games were broken in some way, either eating money, jammed so they couldn't take money, not functioning properly once you got money in, or just turned off, and all of the ticket redemption machines were broken. Music selection was certainly interesting for mid afternoon on a Sunday with plenty of F words and N words. Not what I would describe as family friendly.
it was pretty fun not gonna lie
This place was fun. Good coin pushers and fair prices. My wife said the crane machines were loose and didn't win anything but everyone had fun.
We had a blast with $20.00. played a bunch of games and all the tickets made a certain 4 year old very happy picking out some nice prizes with the help of a very nice young lady. Will do it again.
You will spend a ton of money here if you let yourself (or your kids) but they are the nicest when it comes to giving the kids prizes. If you're a tad short on tickets, they are generally flexible about it, within reason. Very friendly staff. The place itself is kinda hectic and not every game works but hey... Its a classic stop on every boardwalk visit.
All the cranes are rigged, and most of the attendants working there are extremely unfriendly. The manager and another attendant were rude and seemed bothered when you ask for help. Not a friendly welcoming place, will not be back. You can actually win prizes at Marty?s Playland right next to this arcade anyway
All the machines that actually require sound (rhythm games, games that have sound cues) are very quiet. Many of the machines have quarter slots that do not work and eat quarters without notice. Still, has a fun selection of games, and much more reasonable prices than Dave & Busters
I love this place !!! I visit wveey time I'm in town (usually 3-4 times a year) I just love the nostalgia of feeling like a little kid in the arcade playing with the quarters u find in the couch or get from doing chores and being covered in how many tickets you get and showing all your friends what you won at the arcade. I love the old school feeling of it and hope that it never changes. Can't wait to show my kids what playing in an arcade actual feels like.
My husband loves arcades. We stopped in to check out the games and ended up spending about two hours there. Needless to say he got enough tickets to get our little 2 year old a stuffed animal and a bunch of bath Ducky's. It was a blast back to childhood for sure.
We went to visit the boardwalk and got stuck during a storm... luckily had our change with us and played some games to pass the time!
Labor Day weekend, many games took money but didn't show credits. Most games were $1. Loud, dirty, crowded. Game room attendants were ready to go back to their eastern block homeland. You should plan to spend $30 per hour on two kids minimum. They had fun.
More expensive than I expected compared to arcades that we typically go to on vacation. The claw machines have the lowest win rate I've ever seen and the prizes from tickets were cheap garbage items.
It's an arcade with a big selection of claw machines and games. The con is each claw machine is rigged with a payout of 1 out of 50 or so tries. It'll pull you in by picking the plush up but will just release once it's lifted up. I'm usually great at the quick drop ball game and the one I tried just wasn't working right, the balls were dropping when I didn't even press the button. On top of that, the sound wasn't on. Dizzy chicken is another one that is super difficult when it shouldn't be. The two games th
We had a good time. A lot of the games were "out of order". The amount of each game has doubled in the last year. The prizes for your tickets unfortunately have gotten worse.
Class place. My daughter and I played a few games that took our money, we told the manager and not only did they credit the game, they ended up giving us extra credits. The staff couldn't have been any nicer. We will definitely continue playing games here.
I don't know if it was just our lucky day, but we had a great outcome with crane games and amounts of tickets! Great games and atmosphere.
Was there november 21 w 4 kids over 150 dollars spent 1 stuffed animal from claw machine a very small container of slime , and some oriental trading junk. Very disappointing. Will go elsewhere next time. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR CLAW MACHINES, WASTE OF MONEY.
Claw machines are usually the games that require the most skill in arcades. With all the lining up perfectly and what not. This place doesnt require any skill cause you will never win. $30 spent on multiple claw machines. Never a win. The machine picks up the prize and it is either too weak to hold onto the item or as others have stated they just drop them once it gets to the top in the fasion of "falling out of the claws". Waste of money.
It's a fun place. We spent 70 bucks for My 10 year old son and he got 1900 points. So he got a stuffed animal (1500 points) and 2 cheap toys.
Much better than next door. Bright, happy, games work, tickets count correctly, and a great variety of prizes. Friendly attentive staff.
We played skeeball, two machines were broken. Two other games ate money. Air hockey ate money and the attendant activated the machine, but it didn't keep score. There was only one working ticket machine. As a result while we waited in line to redeem our silly small number of tickets, we watched multiple people curse out attendants in front of small children. This place was kind of a wreck, but I guess some people like it judging by the person feeding in 2000 tickets and continuously jamming the one working
It's an arcade. Games are super fun but it's a little cramped. Place isn't super clean but it's the boardwalk so people are gonna make a mess and assume they're too good to pick it up. The staff are very helpful as long as you can find them and really clamor for their attention. The only "downside" are the claw machines that hold prizes that are unwinnable through tickets. You want Pok?mon? A clepto cat? No amount of tickets get them. You have to burn through $20s in the claw machines. We staked one out for
Tons of fun! You want to make sure you have some money to play here though, each game costs about a dollar. Great place for kids and adults.
My father has been coming since 1972 and me and my gf will continue to come we love it here i remember when you had pop a ball when I was only 5 years old and roll the ball spin to win we all love ocean city and robin the manager
Terrible experience. Staff was apathetic at best, and multiple staff members harassed my boyfriend and I when we won a beanbag grand prize a few times (it's not a difficult game) by immediately moving bags around, even taking them out of my hand. Most importantly, no staff member wore a mask in the middle of a global pandemic, and I plan on alerting the local health department about their negligence. Ps- If you want to see a businesses true colors, watch how management responds to criticism online. Most o
Worst arcade on the boardwalk took my boys in there yesterday spent $80 between the both if them n hardly walked out with anything most of the machines had tape over them or you needed actual quarters to play when what is the sense if having a game card to swipe if you need quarters!! Then all the claw machine will pick somthing up and drop it half way thru to the end I will definitely not spend my money in this arcade!
Staff are ok. Games are old worn out some barely work. It used to be allot better back when Kay and Ed jester owned and operated it. Now i don't know about it anymore. Go and decide for yourself i guess. Don't let my review stop you.
Great variety of games. Friendly staff members. The arcade itself was very clean. This arcade has a prize area with prizes for all ages. Almost all of the claw machines are one dollar. Slot machines are 1 dollar for 12 credits.
Our family has been going to Sportland Arcade for years. My favorite is the Elvis coin drop which keeps getting harder and harder to conquer. The staff is always helpful and quick to care for your needs. TY!
Most of the games had tape over the pay areas and or dont work. A lot of the games that do work are malfunctioning or not giving tickets when they do work. I was denied a good 1k or so tickets from various games. I walked by a claw machine with the claw itself ripped from the base and the prize door broken off. This was 6/21/21. I did win a peppa pig out of a claw machine on the 1st try or Id give it 1 star ????? this used to be my favorite of the 3 arcades between the inlet and 3rd street but not anymore.
Staff is very attentive if you run out of tickets or your machine malfunctions. Wide variety of fun games and claw machines, my kids loved this place best of all on the Boardwalk.
Loved playing the fans here. I kept breaking the machine though... lol. The cards kept getting stuck but there was staff there that helped me every time!
Been coming here since I was 9 yrs old, still just as fun as I remember. This was our first family vacation, my fiance and I, and we had a blast. We're huge arcade fans and this is the spot!
Very cool arcade, probably the best on the OC boardwalk. Brings back great memories as a child. Also happy to see they keep it very clean, and most (if not all) machines are up and running everytime I've been there
This is our go to arcade on the Boardwalk. When I was a kid, I was always at Marty's, and that place holds a nostalgic place for me, but Sportland just has superior options for games, in some cases at lower prices than next door. We still go to Marty's for the old-school skeeball games and the ballrolling poker games in the back, but for pure arcade games, we stop at Sportland. The staff is great and we see many of them in the summers and winters.
My family and I always have tons of fun playing in this arcade. They have nice ticket redemption prizes as well. It's always a must have place to visit for us everytime we're here.
Friendly staff, very few of any broken games. Decent payouts and prizes. Fan of the cards over tickets and quarters. Remember to look for your 777 tickets to soon the prize wheel!
It's a great arcade for kids and grown ups!! It has a wide variety of new and old games! From Pac-Man to the new virtual reality type. They also have a lot of ticket games to win prizes and treats for the little ones!!!
came into here to play some of the claw machines?we spent $40 and walked out with nothing. the cranes barely work, no matter how many times it lands on it and gets to the top it always falls. biggest scam and waste of money.. we live here too and come here often & it never changes. this arcade really just isn't fun anymore.
I thought this was a great arcade for the value and variety of games and prizes. The prizes were attainable and the tickets were generous within the games. My only suggestion would be that they would have sanitizer available and maybe evidence of attempts to clean the machines periodically.
Very fun. Easy to load the cards and play. Nice selection of prizes.
The best arcade in Ocean City! They always have the newest games, and their selection of prizes is top notch! My family always spends a great deal of time here every year!
Very fun place to go. Great prizes and great atmosphere. Lots of fun games to play for the whole family
lot of machines didn't give out tickets . either broken or just out of tickets . Did get a few plushies from the claw machines . It kinda made up for going home with a card full of e-tickets I couldn't use
Us and the grandkids had fun, but spent too much money there
Put a dollar in quarters in one of the crane machines and was told "You didnt see that there was no crane?" By some foreign moron who should be back to wherever he came from. Absolutely terrible customer service and I'm out of a buck. Dont go here. I'd go for a mile walk up to fun city before I come back here.
Skee Ball was, is,and always has been a blast, especially when you have someone to cheer on. Tickets you win can be used to get prizes. Lowest value prizes are 30 tickets, next up requires 100 tickets. Customers access change machines and automatic ticket counters that print a receipt with the number of tickets counted. Come back several days to qualify for bigger and better prizes.
Typical arcade place with loud musical and 'Don't want to be here employees'. Most of games cost $1, very few $0.50. It is on yhe board walk so public metered parking is available very close.
Nice arcade. Most games are fairly priced. Usually come way with a decent amount of tickets.
Love it here! Busy or not, the staff are willing to help when the machine malfunctions. Our kids had a blast and it offers a nice break from the sun.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
