This place seems in my opinion very cool. They have a arcade room now fun for adults and kids. The have Karaoke night every Wednesday @ 9pm. Stand up comedy night every Sunday 7:30. Live Band every weekend. Golf simulator. Banquet room that can accommodate 50 to 300 people. Bowling leagues. Check this place out.
I was a Photo Booth operator for an event that was there today. The staff is a 10 out of 10! Erin B. Is an AMAZING event manager!!!! They were very helpful getting everything figured out and going down to the fine details it is all worked out before the client walked through the door. They are very knowledgeable and attentive to everyone?s needs. I would recommend this venue to anyone that is having a small get together all the way to a huge gathering suck as a wedding or a work event.
Only reviewing the lunch buffet as that is all I experienced. Kind of small and limited with some great items. Even when it wasn't busy it was difficult to get to all the food if anybody else was up at the buffet because of the limited space and dead end. The stars of the show for me were the smoked chicken and the dessert cart. The chicken was delicious and smoky. The dessert cart had a lot of good options.
We had an impromptu 60th birthday party for my husband with all the kids and grandkids, everyone had a blast! The staff was so helpful, they truly catered to our every need!! Thank you so much!!
Haven't been here in awhile ( Woodys) Food was still pretty good. Service was not. I guess we had a girl named Paige but Cam took our order. Thank you Cam. I wish you were our server . Paige never checked on us so no refills on beverages. She did bring us to go boxes . Service is what brings people back. Nikki at the bar is phenomenal still. Love her. Don't need to come back for a while though. Sad. I was hoping the new owners would focus on service.
I made a reservation and paid in advance for our time slot on Saturday. When we arrived, the line was a bit long to check in but it moved quickly. We were assigned to lane 3. When we went to lane 3, there was a pile of someone?s dirty dishes on our table. We figured it was just busy and someone would be around to clean our table off. After 25 minutes, no one had been around to clean and I went to ask the front counter if someone could remove the dishes. When I asked, it was met with a blank stare. About 20
Erika, Erin and their entire team were absolutely AMAZING!! I hosted my finace?s 30th birthday party here. The food was so good I got compliments all night on how wonderful everything tasted. They were all set and ready to go when we arrived. As someone who has worked in customer service for a long time their customer service was TOP NOTCH! We were checked in on throughout the night and truly felt catered to. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend hosting a party here or even stopping in for a fun date night. Definit
The place actually looks pretty nice, recently being redone, but that's where the good part ends. The staff are not responsive and even dismissive when trying to fix lane issues. Lane 39 has a faulty sensor and will cycle pins even when a ball is not thrown. Came back over a week later and was placed on the same lane (which was not cleaned by waitstaff from previous guests but it was only a few cups and a pitcher so I guess not too bad) and the problem was not resolved. Is lane reliability so difficult? I u
I recently visited Spectrum lanes and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The service was top-notch ? the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It's clear that they truly care about their guests. A special shoutout goes to Nick, the cook, who really elevated the whole experience. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was prepared to perfection, and you could tell that Nick takes pride in his work. Whether it was the crispy fries,
Fantastic Atmosphere, Great Drinks, and Bowling Fun! This place is an absolute gem! Whether you're here for the bowling, the drinks, or just to hang out with friends, it never disappoints. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of lively and laid-back, with great music and a welcoming crowd. The bar is well-stocked with a great selection of drinks, and the bartenders are always friendly and quick with a pour. The bowling lanes are well-maintained, and the whole vibe makes for an awesome night out. Whether yo
Had breakfast with a large group of coworkers this morning (26 people). Food was ok, but the service was exceptional. I believe our server's name was Gail. The idea that one server could take care of that large of a group by herself, and to do it well, is certainly review worthy. Nice job!
We had the most incredible experience hosting our kid?s birthday party at the bowling alley, all thanks to Jessica! From the moment we arrived, Jessica made sure everything ran smoothly. She was warm, friendly, and super organized, making it feel like she had everything under control so we could just relax and enjoy the day. She went above and beyond to accommodate our group, from setting up the lanes to making sure everyone had their shoes, food, and drinks in hand. Not only was she efficient, but she was
Grandsons 6th birthday party was AMAZING. Bumpers and bowling aids for the little ones. VERY ATTENTIVE SERVICE. Good price!!! Included 90 minutes of bowling and cards for each kid for the arcade. Best place we've had for birthdays! We will be back!!
Me and my son had a great time with bowling and the arcade room, especially with the VR dinosaur game. Our bartender Pat passed the vibe check.
We had a school outing there and it was awesome! The management on site were amazing. They constantly asked how it was going and if we needed anything. The food was delicious and one of our food attendants, Natalie, was so helpful! She had a great attitude and was professional. Thank you Spectrum for a great event!
Having worked in the restaurant/bar business in the past, I tend to be a bit more observant of those in the service industry. Sadly, I find very few servers or bartenders who seem to know what great customer service means. The very first time Justin served me, however, he absolutely blew me away. The eye contact, professionalism, attention to detail and the way he engages with everyone..I could go on and on. He is AMAZING!! We will go out of our way just to see him and we are not alone. If you want to expe
Matt and Angie were so helpful when it came to figuring out what drinks sounded good for this occasion. Sad to see it was bought out, but happy I had the opportunity to have great customer service!
VIP bowling area is very disappointing for the price. managment was good but poor, inexperienced bar service with 10+ minute wait times, lanes breaking with no one to fix them, having to hunt down employees then wait 5 minutes for them. Started 25 minutes after booked time and was compensated in 2 free arcade games for 10 people in a 25 person party. The price compared to the experience does not equate. I would advise anyone from booking with this new company that controls the vip bowling until they're adeq
Had an amazing experience at spectrum lanes. Great service and a fun that can't be beat. I believe it was a manager, Nick, he really upped the vibe and gave us a great experience. Food and drinks were also amazing and will definitely be back for more.
I love this place! The bar makes amazing drinks that are well priced, the food is fantastic, and theres so much to do with live music, bowling and an arcade. I would like to thank one of the workers, Nick, for making sure our experience was the best!
Perfect Family Fun! Very clean, friendly staff, and plenty of lanes. Lots of accommodations for little kids so they can play as well!
This place is great when you can actually get a lane. It seems like whenever I go, they have a four-hour wait time, and you're constantly waiting for a manager. With the new owners came increased prices and smaller portions, and while they upgraded the screens and tables, the machines break down even more.
We had a great time at Spectrum Lanes. We celebrated a friends birthday and our host Jessica was the best! She was very nice, efficient, and knowledgeable of the food menu and drinks. We couldn't have asked for a better server and experience! We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family and also have them recommend Jessica as their host!
Our son had an 8yr old bday party here yesterday! It was amazing! They all had a blast and the service was incredible!! The server Annie and manager of our lane, Angela, were both great! Much improved with their recent upgrades and changes made. Highly recommend!
If only no stars was an option? Asked the staff to put bumpers up for the kids; ?oh yeah no problem we'll get right on that.? 30 minutes later still no bumpers come up for the kids and the games basically over. Cool. Staff with such dry personalities it felt like conversing with robots. Not sure what has changed in the past couple of years with management, but they clearly don't care to ensure their staff provides good customer service and care. So disappointing. Not sure I'll return anymore. Each visit is
What a great time I had yesterday with my coworkers and staff. We had two birthday celebrations and Angie, the manager, made sure to make the birthday girl and boy feel special! Thank you for everything Spectrum Woody Lanes! Not only was it a great time, but the food was amazing! We will certainly be back!
Spectrum lanes great place for family fun! We Had our dad?s 60th bday party there. Ages 1-60 had a blast kids coming and going from bowling to the arcade. I think we brought home 20 rubber ducks large and small. Great food and drinks service was amazing. Thank you Spectrum lanes for making my dad?s special day wonderful!!!
Had an amazing night with family and friends. Great atmosphere thanks to Jess. She was so amazing and attentive. She took great care of us. Looking forward to our next get together.
Sad they got bought out. Super cool place but very expensive. They got rid of the Family deal. Which was $82 for two pizzas and a lane for 1.5 hours for 4 people. With a reservation. Which I thought was reasonable and awesome. Now it's $120 for 4 with no food. Which even $100 for bowling seems absolutely wild to me.
Used to be a great place to have fun. We spent an average of $500 per month between bowling twice a week, meals, and Sunday Night Funnies and eating the buffet and other miscellaneous meals throughout the week. It WAS our home away from home. So sad. They were recently bought out by a greedy corporation and they have raised prices ( doubled in some cases) to unrealistic levels. Families would have to take out loans to bowl or eat there. They blast loud music, even when there are only a few people there
We did a customer event here and Angela the manager went above and beyond to make our guest were happy. I highly recommend this place.
Since new owners changes for seating REALLY SUCK!! When high schools bowl there, there is at least 5 to 7 kids per lane. No tables to sit at for us grandparents and families of bowlers? They only have tall snack bars and high stools to sit on, PROBLEM IS SOME OF US USE WALKERS AND ARE OLDER, not handicap friendly at all. So example, so for 4 lanes of high school students bowling the is approximately 20 to 25 kids on 4 lanes!!! But with the snack bar seating there is only at MOST ROOM FOR 10 SEATS AVAILABLE
Used to be better: - Food and drink prices have massively increased! My favorite drink by 3 dollars. - Games in the bar area are extremely loud. - Free Wi-Fi... forget it, they slowed it down to the point where it doesn't work. - League bowling: They have decided to not allow lane separation between the league and walk in bowlers. So at times you will have children bowling while you are in your approach. I only gave this review 2 stars because a good portion of the staff are amazing.
Booked events there for 130+ people for several years. With the new owners the price for the event nearly doubled in the first year and we had to work our own event stocking food and drinks due to them not staffing well. Steve did amazing but just had little to no help for a very large group. Complaints fell on deaf ears to the people in charge of events.
It's a not very busy Saturday afternoon and these tables remain dirty the whole time I was there. Gross.
I wanted to write a review sharing my amazing experience with Spectrum recently. My family and I decided to get together while my sister was in town for a short time. We wanted something fun to do so we all decided on bowling after many of us realized we hadn't been in a long time. As we decided what to do at Spectrum we quickly realized we wanted to be in the VIP area with the bar and the amazing atmosphere. We started one of our two games of bowling but eventually the manager for the night approached and
Absolutely love love love and adore Mason!!! One of the best bartenders and company a girl could know! Huge sweetie.
4.5/5? Really clean place. Vibe was nice and there a considerable amount of room. Why the -.5? How many armed security guards do you need? Especially when those individuals don't carry the presence of being competent with that weapon. Kinda throws you off a bit.
Its more expensive to bowl here after bowlero took over. There are no per game or hourly prices listed on their website. So you will need to call and ask. The lanes are not in the greatest shape with some concrete damage where the lanes start. I get issues with the pin setters pretty often. The new arcade expansion is pretty good, and they have some fun games. Mikes Marks pro shop is inside. Good place to shop for supplies. The big pros for bowlero/spectrum is the hours and amount of lanes. They are open ea
Our bartender, Patrick, took such good care of us, was lighthearted and kind, and seemed to handle the pressure of the busy night so well! Totally recommend and will be visiting again based on that awesome service!
Recent change in ownership has led to significant lack of customer service: 1. Asked several folks what time they stopped serving food on weekends - not one person new the answer out of 4 people 2. Cost to bowl increased substantially - $5.49 per game and the machines don't even work properly (dropping pins) and not counting right 3. Called two different times to verify hours of opening on Sunday 1) said they opened at 9AM 2) said they opened at 7AM - actually opened at 11AM 4. Employee was smoking beh
We came here for a bowling birthday party, and it was really enjoyable. We rented a lane in the VIP lounge and it was really worth it, and I would recommend it. The pizzas were good, but salty. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. 2 hours of bowling, in the VIP lounge, with pizza and soft drink, was 95 dollars. There were lots of other food on the menu as well.
Today's 3:20 25 is there this morning at 8:00 wait until 8:45 no waitress so we left. Waitress came as we we're leaving to take our order but never gave us a menu to look at . And while we were sitting there a table of six showed up took their order first
1 star for the good loaded tater tots. Zero stars for the overpriced bowling alleys that are not properly oiled, a rack that froze up multiple times, and worst of all was the sticky approach that had no slide at all and caused loss of balance issues when trying to bowl normally. I am still affected by a bad fall due to that issue 1 week ago.
Has lunch today ordered the Reuben and paid the $3.50 up charge for fries. Also ordered a soda. The reuben was the worst one I've ever had. Bread was burned black on one half and did not eat. The corned beef was like finely chopped bits of meat. Not good. Huge helping of fries unfortunately they were not very good either. Was charged $4.99 for my cherry coke. It has been awhile since we ate there but we will not be going back. Very disappointed.
Nice place, great staff and very helpful. Good food choices and medium prices. Good place for bowling and hanging with friends. They have VIP room for parties and lanes specifically for the party.
I'm not sure if the waitress is blind or just plain useless. I've been walking up to the bar for over 2.5 hours without zero service. Please don't waste your time.
I love bringing the whole family here! We bounce from bowling to the arcade and sprinkle some food in there. Very welcoming staff!
Dropped in here at the spur of the moment with my son. Craig's cruisers next door was insanely busy, so I asked my 8 year old son if he would rather go bowling. He didn't hesitate with a loud YES! Staff was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
lot of fun and s?per kind customer service
The drinks were quick. The Buffalo chicken pizza is great. Pat and Justin are a hoot!
First yes I have a large family. But paying over $140 for 2 hrs of bowling but only actually bowling for about 1.5 hrs because the lanes kept malfunctioning was a bit irritating and having only one person working food and beverages causing large wait times is ridiculous all on its own. I think I'll find other bowling to use next time.
Mackenzie was awesome she was very helpful and courteous. Great front desk presence.
Been bowling here for years! Kids have been in the youth program the last 14 years and they love it. House is clean, staff is professional and the lanes are well maintained.
Pinsetters are terrible!!! Drop pins, scrape off spares, deck jam after deck jam. Get used to using the reset button, and then going to the desk to report IF SOMEONE IS THERE. A terrible place if you want a good bowling experience. What a joke, and I'm not laughing ??
Jessica Cross Was So Amazing We Recently Had A Group Outing And She Was Patient Kind And Maintained Us So Well ! That Woman Is A Rockstar When It Comes To Tending To Guests We Felt The Love !
Had a great time with the whole family today. Cam Olman helped us get set up with bumpers for the kids and was super helpfull with all our needs ! Excellent customer service !
This place is kind of doing it all and winning. Staff at the bowling alley is accommodating whether you are there for a single game or a large group. Arcade is fun, geared mostly for teenagers and up but a couple of options for youngers. I havent been to the sports bar since the renovation or the banquet facilities but they look inviting. I have to give props to management for keeping this large multifaceted complex running smoothly.
This review is for the bowling side. Ever since they were bought out food service went down hill, I'm talking to the waiter and he walks away when I'm still talking. Portions have gotten smaller also guess they have to make their money back since they bought out the old owners.
New Owners No good! My sister made a reservation by mistake because after seeing that it was gonna be $90 for 3 people seemed ridiculous. We called to cancel the reservation and they said that we couldn't cancel a reservation! Ridiculous there are way cheaper bowling allies this one is overpriced Sincerely Disappointed
I love this place but the bartender Pat keeps me coming back! Super friendly and does a great job behind the bar! Definitely my favorite bartender!! ????
We have been going to Spectrum/Woodys for several years! Justin is by far the most helpful and responsive bartender. He makes the experience fun!
The employees are really nice and patient. Their burgers are amazing and my kids always want the pizza pillows.
Went for my husband's work thing, we had alot of fun didn't think I was so good at bowling. The food was delicious and the my son couldn't stay away from the arcade.
We just had a Christmas party there and was somewhat disappointed. The actual bowling was not great. The pins were not set in correct locations, the computers needed reset multiple times. The lanes were not in good condition for anyone who actually knows how to bowl. The prices have increased dramatically since last year (spent more money with less people). The food was ok but we have already decided we will not be going back next year.
Very nice on the VIP side with new lanes and a new fully stocked bar with a decent draft selection. The older side is still good and now that they have virtual golf as well it is even better. Great place for dinner and then bowling or golf!
Jessica went above and beyond for my group when we were there! Always a happy face when o see her!!! Excellent service and attitude!!!
This was Woody's when I was last in the Grand Rapids area and my favorite place to watch football. It's completely remodeled and now has multiple bar areas. Many options and it's beautiful. There were people having dinner, people having a drink and watching the band, people dancing and a few bowling. It was a very age diverse crowd. We sat at the bar located between the bowling alley and the club area so we could both hear the very excellent band and still easily chat. This is the original bar and I'm so gl
The new ownership is amazing! My friend and I had an issue with an existing card and they took care of it right away. They also supplied us with a gift for our classroom (we are teachers) Thank you so much!
Wife and I have patronized for years, 3-5 times a week for affordable entertainment. Eat, Bowl & day drink with 2 different groups of friends twice a week, comedy show religiously on Sundays & buffet at least once a week. Got to know the partners a bit, made new friends there and boosted the establishment often. New owners have totally lost our patronage. Pricing has gotten beyond ignoring, some are 2x what they were 3 weeks ago. We are done, will miss it but we have to vote with OUR dollars & not pad a pro
If you like comedy, I highly recommend Sunday Night Funnies. Every Sunday @ 7:30pm. For bowling, there's 3 different "sections" all with separate aesthetics. All 3 bars are solid and the bowling is fun. The "VIP" section is super cool. Definitely recommend.
It is WAY too difficult to make a VIP lane reservation! Can't be done on the website OR over the phone. You have to leave a message with sales and wait hours to be called back. This is the most inconvenient bowling lane reservation process I've ever experienced.
I can't wait to go back and bowl with my son again. He had a blast with all the different bowling games he could play on the screen. And it doesn't smell like the bowling alley I grew up going too!
Ordered TWO Spicy Chicken Wraps. Nowhere on the menu does it say anything about tomatoes. Yet here I am with more than a handful of tomatoes in my wrap. Either train your staff accordingly or get rid of food all together. Pathetic!
Spectrum was fun. My grandchildren took me there to celebrate my birthday. It was great experience hanging with my grandchildren.
Now this is a very cool place. It is expensive but the bowling alley, the live band the dancing, so worth it, the food. On the other hand I would recommend go there early if you're looking for food outside of that if you show up late like at 9 PM. You're stuck with pizza and fried foods which is good but I ordered an appetizer and my food and they brought everything out instead of my appetizer first then my food. So I had all this food to eat which I didn't want to eat that much food all at the same time.
Bartender Pat is extremely friendly and accommodating, makes a mean margarita, an excellent Paddington Bear shot, and is simply one of the finest Grand Rapids has to offer!
Went on a work outing here and I'll have to say it was fun. We went at about 2p.m on a friday and rented the VIP room. Had our own waitress who was a pleasure to have serve us. Great price on the package deal. All inclusive meaning 2 hours of bowling 2 pizzas and 2 pitchers for one set price
Pat was very nice he made sure we had everything we needed he made sure our food was hot & drinks ready thank you Patt was really nice and down to earth !
My kids love going here for the arcade , the food , the bowling and the simulator. They always have fun and it makes for a good family day.
Very awesome customer service... angie is the bees knees ??
Took my kid to have some fun. Only wanted to play a few games. Midway in our games our balls got stuck. Called for assistance 4 different times in person and on the computer system. Waited 30 minutes just for some help. Finally our balls came back but the lane lights were shut off. Couldn't even see anything. Then went to return the shoes had to wait in line 10 min just to leave. Not a fun experience. Maybe I'll stick to my other place.
Good price for bowling and rental shoes. Great place to take the family for some fun and bowling. Bar service is a bit slow, but the bartenders are very friendly and pricing is very reasonable. Ordered appetizers and they were plentiful and good. Overall a good experience.
I've been a regular at this place for the last 5 years since the ownership change it went downhill I'm a league bowler and I won't return there next year the staff is rude and don't communicate well at all the customer is never right I've never experienced that in customer service
New arcade, sports bar bowling area are really cool. Had a party there, and they really uped their game from the last time we were there!
Had company Christmas party here, the room we were in was great had its own bar and lanes. Plenty of room for hanging out. Employees were great.
Went for a bowling event, staff went out of their way to make us all feel welcome and our hostess at the bar Celia recommend me an awesome drink called a boarding pass if you like coconut this is for you! Great bowling lanes atmosphere was great, and the music was just right for a fun night. If you're looking to host an event here I would recommend 100% Five stars!
Always have the best time here! And Angie is the best, my makes my night every time!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
