We've been going there for 9 years. Had several birthday parties for my kids there. The last several times we have gone the service has gotten worse and worse. A bunch of high school kids that are doing their best to avoid contacting customers or doing any actual work. Today we started off at the ice cream counter. I could see the guy in the kitchen for several minutes playing on his phone while several employees walked past us, in and out of the kitchen studiously ignoring us. I finally stopped one of them
We had a really good time here!!! We bowled for 2 hours and I didn't know we would have a server. I thought maybe we bowl then we had to sit and eat but nope. We did both in the 2 hours and I was very happy. Very impressed with the service and the place was clean! We absolutely loved coming here!! We will definitely be back when we are in town!! And it was decently priced for 2 hours of bowling. Not bad at all.
We went for the first time on a Sunday morning. Little did we know but they had a Sunday Special from 10am-1pm. The lanes were very smooth and nicely oiled. The equipment worked flawlessly, and the podium allowed traditional bowling or different pin setups and games. They have good food and drinks with lane service. Will definitely return!
Good service, very friendly staff, decent finger food, average bar tender speed-wise but did do a proper pour on my double vodka and cranberry, so the drink was well worth the modest price. Disappointing blowing lanes, if you're semi-serious about your bowling. The lanes and balls are in good shape, but the lighting in the private room is too dark, couldn't see the lane marks, our left lane kept failing to count pins knocked down, we had to use the edit scores feature often and our right lane wasn't resetti
Great place for birthday parties and to pass family time or with friends. Enough space for everyone. It's not the first time there but the last one birthday part organisation could be better regarding the service. We had 2 bowling lines and when the first one had balls blocked we were helped pretty fast, but when another line was blocked and we told about it to service, the guy told us that he is alone at the reception and nobody came to adjust the line. So we lost 20 min of bowling time for kids. That's di
We had a great time as a family. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and even more so. The establishment has carefully chosen its employees to take care of customers. The games are very fun. I recommend it.
Great time on a date night with my wife. The regular lanes were all full up, so we were offered and opted for the upgraded lanes off to the side. Prices aline with the industry norms. Check put their daily special. We went on Tuesday, 1/2 price bowling and $2 shoes. Nibbles were tasty bar style snacks and they also offered up a bunch of other goodies. We have only ever brought the kiddos and always enjoyed ourselves but it was a nice treat to have some nostalgic time away from our kids as well.
Super fun place to go in the area!! There's a game room that's pretty large. The pictures of it don't do justice for the size. There's a bar if you drink at all. (I don't but I imagine for people who do it would be good. Full size bar with lots of choices it looks like) Bowling is the funnest part for us. We just have a goofy fun time with it. If you are a veteran or active military member you get a free $10 game card just for being there. Cost is pretty good depending on size of party. They have deals for
Pretty good place to go with the family. I recommend make reservations well in advance because it gets packed. We order at the table and our food was delivered to our lane. Our waitress was amazing. The system allows you to play different games. It's pretty clean. They only have ball sizes in pair numbers (8, 10, 12, 14 etc.) The food was delicious, not the typical bowling alley.
So yes the games were fun but my overall experience was just not impressed. First I hate Pepsi so I had hoped for diet dr.pepper but they didn't have that. Then the pizza was like eating cardboard. It was so thin and cold and absolutely no flavor. The popcorn was stale like it had been there for days. I wouldn't come back to this place at all.
I really want to like this place. The food is pretty decent, I would say it's pretty close to something like Chili's and the drinks are good too. The bowling in the dark and unwillingness to help adjust our lane wasn't great. The arcade is hilariously overpriced.
We went to a Spare Time, Texas to try their acts throwing. And it exceeded all expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful and taught me and my wife how to throw the acts multiple different ways so that we would be successful and confident once they started our one hour session which was only $25 per person. They had multiple games that you can play once you got the hang of throwing the ax and they keep the scoreboard on the outside that is controlled by the score keeping tablet inside the cage. Y
Clean and very friendly. Will definitely go again. Good food and atmosphere when we visited.
Love the Kids Club league run by Coach Dave. My grandson has participated for the past two years now and loves it! Coach Dave is amazing and they have added an additional coach who is also great with the kids. The place is clean and well kept, unlike some other bowling facilities we have visited. The Game Center is also well kept and the staff very attentive if machines have an issue. Great staff in the redemption prize center! Always pleasant and friendly.
Awesome experience! Hope M. was very patience with my friends and family while we were trying to figure out what to do. She was very helpful with the prize area questions from everyone and gave each one of us recommendations as we weren't too sure on what to get. For laser tag which we've never done before she was very detailed about how everything works, demonstrating how to hold the shooter, where to shoot and how long everything would take. Although we did take quite a long time she was completely pati
It is like smaller version of Main Event but I like it better, especially the area between the lanes are much wider. Good place for kids birthdays. They had sliders instead of pizza, which was pretty good.
As for my first time, this place was awesome! Everyone was quite helpful in assisting my friend and I and the food and drinks were great. We were greeted with pleasantries and smiles from the moment we walked in the door, to the arcade, to the bar, and finally to the bowling lanes. The atmosphere is very welcoming. One very very minor detail that I might change or work on if I were manager would be to update the food and drink menus at the bar. I requested a drink that was no longer available due to some in
I want to recognize her by name but Mrs. Lashonda W . IS A WOMAN literally I can't thank her enough she's a beautiful and great woman she made sure I was safe and protected I really want a Manager to see this so she can be recognized I can't believe someone went out of their way to comfort me thank you again GOD BLESS YOU
Only place we can find a foosball table up north but the bar does not have grapefruit juice
My favorite bowling alley in town! They have deals during the week for bowling, arcade and food! Their boneless wings & mini sliders are soooo good!
Very clean place. Stuff was very friendly and the service was excellent. Enjoyed the food. Everyone had a great time. Large screen TVs were all over the place so we were able to keep an eye on the NBA playoffs. Parking was plentiful. Did not play any video games but there are quite a few of them. Would recommend this place and will likely go back again.
Spare time has a great deal to play all day ( video games, laser tag, bowling) . They also let kids do one free activity each day. However, the food is overpriced and slow. It took forever to get out food so the kids played with a video game set that was on the table. And they charged us for it! The service was blah One person took the order. Someone else delivered and we never saw waitstaff again. So much for getting ketchup on the fries. Maybe eat while you bowl so you won't notice the lousy servi
Although the game area seemed a bit small, there are plenty of bowling lanes. Went for a kid's birthday party and they had a great time. Played games and laser tag. It did seem like it would be a great place for a family night out. There's a restaurant and I believe a full bar. The staff was very nice, from the young woman who helped with the party food and drinks to the young men in the prize room. Very pleasant time. Customer service was a solid 5 stars.
It's a well kept bowling alley. It's a arcade. And it's a axe throwing alley. This one thing that makes them stand out is the food. All the food is delicious and reasonably priced.
Food was pretty good, typical bar food. We only did the arcade games for the kids and $20 took about an hour or so, if you didn't do the VR. It looks like bowling and axe throwing was a little better priced for the time you get. Will definitely go back again with the grandkids!
"Coach" is there to greet you & make sure you have everything you need. Mom & I had a fun time bowling & would recommend checking Spare Time in Pflugerville out. Only negative was the very, very loud music which really doesn't need to be that loud. Enough said, perhaps they'll lower the volume so we can hear the laughter from families & friends enjoying bowling & having yummy food brought out to your lane.
I love hatchet alley - axe throwing arena. Today was my first experience and it was super fun. Definitely recommend playing with friends and family.
My wife and came here for the first time tonight to take part in their Trivia Night! We had a great time and look forward to returning for their next one!
This is the second time we done a birthday at Sparetime! The first time was perfect! But, this time was okay...The birthday was months ago, but I wanted to write about our experience...I arrived at 12:00PM initally to come early to have time to prepare everything, but was told to come back at 12:30PM to have access to the room to decorate. When arriving back, the room was still not cleaned up (and yes they did tell me the room number we would be at) and that's us saying something because if not that room wa
So much fun with my kids and our friends!
Took my two younger kids bowling here the other day. We had a great time. The prices were okay( I'd come back on a day with specials), the food was pretty good, the place was very clean, service was great, and the bowling games were fun. We especially loved the game where bowling gets your picture some weird glasses and funny hats. The only thing I didn't love about it is that the finger holes of the balls all seemed a bit greasy. I suppose having a lot of fried food on the menu leads to that. My kids and
Wonderful! Environment was clean. Masks worn. Sanitized bowling ?? areas. Handicapped accessible. The bowling was fun especially with the computerized game options. Lazer tag was 10 minutes and we had a blast. We played several games and we were able to play as a couple. They have beer and specials. Bowling specials. Was great for all ages.
The food here is delicious! The arcade games are reasonably priced compared to other similar places. I have yet to bowl here but will definitely come back to do so.
Tuesday evening they have half priced bowling and 2$ shoe rentals so we show up. Bowling alley is empty but they won't let anyone bowl because it's league night. Pretty sus
It's been a while since we've been here, but it was just as fun as we remembered. Plus, we tried the brunch today, and it was amazing!
Just went today! Really amazing, Like laser tag, bowling everything! I really recommend this amazing place!!
It's fun. It could use more arcade games but the food and drinks are delicious
Everyone is super friendly! Love the summer discount days and kid passes!!!
Excellent place if you want to celebrate your children's birthday. Good price, excellent attention, they serve you good food. The hosts are super attentive and aware of everything. And most importantly, the children have a lot of fun. I recommend it.
Great servers, i went in the other night, ordered my pizza (as usual) and I had the best server, i think her name was Monique, or maybe moniqua, Anyways, she was great. I even thought she was the manager at first!
Great family fun location with weekly specials to save money and a good management team. My kids love that they can play laser tag and that the arcade has so many fun games. Almost all games cost $1 which is a bit pricey, but you can bowl or play laser tag for more bang for your buck. Also the funnel fries are a definite must try, and worth coming for all by themselves!!!!
have to split time between here and another awesome austin place, the bowling is always good, weekend specials make that affordable, the arcade is amazing, also ran into a great bowling counter guy named Joe and also a greeter named Devyn who was amazing to chat with
Great service. Waitress and hostess were amazing. They took great care of our group.
We went to Spare Time tonight to have drinks with friends and let the kids play games. We sat in the restaurant area and never got served. We went to the bar to get all of our drinks. For food, we finally had an extremely reluctant waitress come to take our order. She had to come back 3 times to get it right, and then she never came back. We never saw her again. Worst service ever. We were there for at least an hour before she came to get our order. It was not that busy and there were only 2 other tables at
Took my son here, to play Lazer tag our game started at 8pm, (game play is 15 minutes)so after he wanted to bowl, he really enjoys bowling. The wait was 2hrs, I told him that it was to long for us to wait till 1030. I recommend to make a reservation if you decide to go bowling, this way you will not have any issues with having to wait.
If this place removed speedball, I would give it no stars and avoid going. Good place to bowl. Decent barfood. Breakfast is pretty good. (Don't tell anyone). Beer is surprisingly cold.
Not happy! We went in for bowling and there were no lanes available. So instead, the kids played arcade games which were very overpriced. Some of the machines were broken. We decided to eat there before leaving. That was a mistake! The food was not good. The pizza was burned, service was slow, and they even forgot one of the meals and didn't bring it until everyone else was done eating. It was also way too expensive for what it was. One order of fries was $6.50. We were up-charged for ranch. The total came
Latest Review: No bartender for about 7 min got drink orders wrong. Tried to eat food waiting almost 15 minutes after being seated for the waiter to come only to find him flirting with another employee in the back (seen through the window to the kitchen area) and still no drinks. This place has never seemed to recover all the while employees see customers waiting at the bar but would rather talk with their friends for 10 min. See photo.... Newer review: Last review we went for arcades and most of them wer
Very difficult to find anyone at the front desk. Our kids played for an hour and we wanted to get toys in exchange for the points but they were busy counting something. Someone stole our Minecraft cards from one game station and we wanted to report, but no one was at the front desk. It's supposed to close at 1am, so why is no one around to talk to ? We are never coming back here except to turn in the points in exchange for toys. Bad experience.
Such a fun place to go to even if you are an adult! Bowling is fun and so is the arcade ?? , perfect for a date night, family outing or just to hang out with your friends. Go!
My 5 year old had the pleasure of getting FREE bowling lessons here at Spare Time Texas. She had a blast! Coach was amazing!! Wish it could last longer. Thank you so much Coach!
I did not stay & make the experience just yet. Stopped in for the first time while dropping off my adult children for the activities. Staff was all nice & helpful for first timers. Very clean for a Saturday afternoon. Decor very exciting & inviting. They did bowling & the arcade. Had a great time. Make sure to check for their daily specials.
Very helpful staff. Nice bowling lanes. The food choices are good but not exceptional.
Great place to play bowling and arcade games. Also great beer selection.
This was such a fun place to take my 6 year old. We bowled, played games and enjoyed a meal. She wants to have her next birthday party here. It was clean, including the bathrooms. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
Why advertise Sunday Funday from 10am-1pm but then have league bowling play with a 2-hour wait when showing up at 11am. Place had an empty parking lot, but full of false advertising. Nothing fun for the family about this.
Neat and clean place for some family fun. Arcade games are good for kids and the laser tag is a good time pass for family.
Great location for kids birthday parties! Kids really enjoyed bowling and the party room was set up nicely. Only thing I would improve is the dollar amount given on the game cards that are included with the purchase of a party package. A $5 game card for each kid didn't go very far for the arcade games.
We didn't look ahead and arrived to find it was league night, so we didn't get to bowl, which was son's birthday request. We did still have a great time with unlimited laser tag and arcades. We also ate dinner in their Cafe. The food was really good, and our server was super sweet to our birthday boy. He even got a special birthday brownie topped with ice cream. We hosted my older son's birthday at this same location a couple of years ago (but actually rented the party room) and were just as pleased then. I
Lots of fun. Love the daily specials. Some of the arcade games don't work so that was a bummer. Food was decent and so was service.
Drinks at the bar were good. Sampler was delicious. We did not reserve a land for bowling and we were told it'll be 1h30min wait time. After 2 hours we checked the link and we saw we were 5th in line and the people before us were waiting for over 3hrs. We canceled our spot and left. On the other hand, it looked like the people who were actually bowling were having a good time. We will give this place another chance and probably prepare better knowing that it requires a longer wait time. Staff were super yo
Invites by family gathered to spend time great atmosphere, great place for family to spend time and enjoy.
This place was cool! Lots of games and the bowling had a great atmosphere. Really nice lanes and great staff! Our servers name was Gage and he was incredibly attentive and helpful. Highly recommend!
Went for a kids birthday party. Food was great. The staff was very friendly and took care of everything. Had fun bowling, Playing Lazer tag, and just generally running around.
Great place for hangout with friends and family. Not so big but better option for the neighborhood. Food is really good.
This place is way better than Dave and buster. The environment is controlled, the employees are friendly and very helpful. I have been 2x this month and looking forward to many more outings there. I can't forget the food and the drinks were awesome and worth the price. I had a Pfun time.
We had the pleasure of having our company Christmas party at this location. I would highly recommend this place for any company party. They were so organized the quality of food was amazing. We had the Pin House which I would recommend its private 8 bowling lanes, a bar and lounge where we set up appetizers. What impressed me the most was the service from booking to arriving the managers were right there what can we do for you, to the servers.Wow! the staff were amazing from Melanie booking the party to Ste
The bowling alley does not allow for ramps for little kids. Absolutely ridiculous policy!
We like this place a lot. Specially during vacations. We had my kids birthdays here too. With that I'm not too happy cause the people that supposed to help with the party didn't help a lot with the kids. I feel I had to do everything for the kids. I had other party were the parents doesn't need to do anything and that wonderful. Otherwise this place is very good.
Loved this place just moved here from Florida and was very impressed. Shout out to Diego for making my experience a 10/10
Fun time with a great summer deal! I wished I would have known earlier so that I could have taken my kids more.
If you didn't know that this place existed neither did I. So much fun and I agree that it blows away Main Event. We rented the Pin House and all of our friends loved the food, atmosphere, and fun. Will definitely visit often.
Showed up to celebrate a birthday. Had someone the worst customer service I've ever gotten anywhere. You can truly tell people here don't like their jobs. I had to get up and search for my waitress. Never got refills etc. food was ok service was awful. People in front didn't explain the process of playing games etc. in order to get anything done we had to hunt down a server to then go find our server.
Brought my son here for his birthday last minute. We went to the dinning room to eat first. Our server Amber was so kind and accommodating to us even though we were a large party with kids. Bowling was fun and the kiddos loved the laser tag. Service unmatched, will be back!
We had our Christmas office party here. The food was good. Pizza and spring rolls are recommended. They had booked a private bowling room. It can easily fit 25 to 30. Fun place to have a small gathering. I don't know much about the cost, but I will update you all after my visit again.
Came here at about 11:56am and got a really negative vibe from the old man that's always at the front. I immediately got my family and left! You will never make me spend my money where I'm not wanted!! Again today is my birthday I refuse to be around negative energy!
First time ever visiting and was very disappointed with the customer service. The host at the front was not professional, was rude when we asked for a table so we could order food. The waitress was not very helpful when ordering our food, we asked for some condiments and ended up having to find them ourselves. I always appreciate good quality customer service. We felt we were being a bother to the waitress?s and should not feel that way. We were not rude or demanding to have this type of reaction from the
Great expierience! Ethan S. Was a really accommodating. He opened up the arcade for me after just closing it, and was patient with my friends and I. This was my first time, and I'd come back when I'm in the area.
GrandHeirs had a ball. The only suggestion I have is all arcade games and VR experiences should be in working condition.
This place is amazing. Truly a local gem. my daughter enjoyed her 10th Bday party and everything was handled easily, affordably and smoothly. They also give so much back to the local community! Chelsea and Rachel are wonderful!
Great place. Plenty of lanes and even if they are full the game room is awesome. Always stop in with the family when I visit and we have a blast. The food is really good too.
This place is a rip off I had my daughter birthday party here last Friday and it was the worst time ever they rushed us to bowl and I was told the pizza the kids was being served was nice and hot. That was not true they feed the kids cold pizza then got upset with me about complaining about it. Then after we came out the room from playing lazar tag I was then approached by the host to hurry up and pay my tab did not have time to play games or nothing.then my guest ordered wings and drinks and the server was
My partner and I love visiting places where we can play games that earn tickets and exchange them for prizes, and we had an amazing experience recently. We want to give a special shoutout to Gary, one of the employees, who went above and beyond for us. I had been waiting for a specific prize that wasn't available, and Gary personally made sure to track it down and get it for me. His effort and kindness truly made our day, and we are so grateful for the outstanding service he provided. Highly recommend this
Very clean and family friendly place. Loved the attentive wait staff that brought food and drinks to our lane
My sister treated us to an evening at spare time, and we had such a blast! They had video games, laser tag, bowling, a full-service bar. The kids had so much fun playing all the games they wanted and we played laser tag multiple times. The bowling was really fun too, I highly recommend.
Great place for hanging out and group gatherings. Good staff and service. Price was affordable.
Gabby & Chelsea were NOT helpful at all in helping me resolve a simple customer service issue. They gave me the run around & dismissed me. I asked for no cheese on a salad, they acted like I was attempting to rob a bank. It was as simple as? Let me talk to the kitchen so they can remake it. I offered to send a copy of my bank info proving the purchase & photos, (I was at work on a break). They had every excuse in the book, not to provide decent customer service. Chelsea said, I'm a manager but not in that
Our big party of family members had a great time at Spare Time for the Sunday Funday. The location was full of guests, however, all patrons were taken care of easily by the staff. We did order food and adult beverages, which arrived in a timely manner. The food was delicious. There seemed to be a few kids parties going at the time as kids seemed to enjoy the arcade. The bathrooms were spacious and easy to get to. We certainly will be visiting again.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
