Spare Time Lanes

Update: Stopped in for a few drinks at Spare Time and the bar must have undergone a major overhaul!!! The decor is absolutely legit and polished with all the greatest pop culture icons!! Danny Trejo, The Dude, Bob Marley, Keanu Reeves!!! This is by far the coolest bar in the Tricities at this point. The bartenders were great and authentic! The fried mushrooms were also delish and I am not sure why more bars don't have them. Fusbol, darts, beer pong, pool tables....what else do you need!?!

Spare Time Lanes is super fun. Definitely our go-to when we want to go bowling. The food is pricey, and a little skimming in some areas. We got taco salads and found there were hardly any toppings, mostly shredded lettuce. However, the bowling is fun and efficient. The monitors show cute animations after each turn, and it's a clean environment. The staff is also very friendly.

Nervous to post this review because of what the response to it could be. Read some of the previous low reviews and whoever owns the account responding is unprofessional and doesn't do good with the reviews customers post. Nice clean and organized. Little party for my son turned 5 years old. Top off provides an arcade with food and treats. Great place.

I have a lot to say about this place. At first coming in it seemed great but that quickly turned out to be false. Right off the bat, the prices were insanely expensive especially for two games. Mid way through the game, we start to notice that our bumpers got taken off for some of the people in our group. The only good thing is you can reserve a lane. The food is very expensive, they allow people to have their kids run around everywhere getting in the way and staying up at the lanes and you get less bowling because it's timed instead of by game. They started our game early so we only got one game and a couple frames wont go back, would rather wait longer and have fun then reserve and go somewhere that cost more and you get less

We went here the other night for a fun outing. Had a blast. I forgot how much fun bowling can be. Didn't try the food, maybe next time. We will be grabbing more friends and coming back. : )

This place is so clean and fun!! I live all the way in west Richland so normally I would go to atomic bowl, I called and they were so rude, and the wait time was so long for more expensive prices?? While over at spare times there was no wait and they were so sweet!! Thank you I will definitely come again!!

We're fairly new to the tri cities area so like most people, we read the reviews before deciding on a bowling place. It's a bowling alley with a bar. It also has an arcade, but I was unable to access it due to stairs. The video is of the bar, it was very spacious and comfortable to sit in. There's an outdoor smoking area. There is food served, and we had fries. A little spendy for basic bar food, but it tasted good. The drink was rum and coke and was $5.50. I enjoy coming to this place to bowl. It has number lanes to accommodate kids and light weight balls for them as well. They also serve food and drink. Attached they have a arcade that my kids enjoyed.

My school brought 140 fifth graders to Spare Time Lanes on an End-Of-Year field trip. The business was so clean and fun! The staff were professional, friendly, and polite to our adults and students. The lanes were all working, computers working, fun lights, and the bowlers could add their picture. Even with the 1.5 hour wait and rather heafty bill we had a good time. Friendly staff in the bowling alley.... but when we went into the arcade that was a different story. Webwaited for a good 5 min whole the guy stared at us instead of trying to help. And was rather rude about it.

Like the moving staircases of Hogwarts, things seem to often break and not work. We had to have our lane services four times in a two-game stretch. There are arcade games that excite, and limited food and drink options (that are not allowed in the bowling area). The best part was the 80s music selection.

Family friendly, $$ prices, arcade, good food (tip the cook!), and there is even glow in the dark fun at night. We went on a sunday afternoon, which was perfect-- 3:30 to 5:30.

Not only has this been a great place to work but it's been amazing to see all the new things spare time lanes have done, one of my favorites is the CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE option it's like mini games for kids and adults that pair with your bowling. There's so much more. As an employee and a customer its always colorful time fun time! Highly recommend!!

Great place to bring your family for a couple hours or more of fun. Very kid friendly when it's not league night. There is bowling, a game room, and pool tables. They even have food, like pizza and fries. The place is a little old, bit still look nice for the most part. Can't wait to go bowling again.

This place could really use some updating. The sensors kept messing up which pins were down and occasionally wouldn't register a strike or spare. The music was good and the staff was nice, although they were slow to fix our lane?s many issues.

Really nice place -- clean. However, it cost almost a hundred dollars for 5 of us to play 1 game and we were bowling along at a nice clip. Pretty pricey. Also, for half the game the pins weren't setting correctly. There was always at least one that fell over when they were set. Thought about saying something, but that would have used our time and we were in the clock.

Not a big fan of the string pin system. To each their own but personally I don't like how the pins fall compared to standard pins. Great for recreation but for sport I'm not convinced.

Updated review since the installation of string pins. My overall impression is that this is not a good value. They charge per person, per hour rather than just charging per lane, per hour. It costs me $36 for myself and my son (including shoes for him) for one hour. The slower you bowl/the more people you have the less games you get in. This punishes larger groups or slower bowlers. We got 5 games in (2 for each of us and 1 for me.) The same number of games at Atomic Bowl would cost about $20 including shoe

Bowling is getting expensive, too. It's a nice bowling alley. I like the layout, it's mostly clean, and there's a good-sized arcade. That said, pizza would have been $30, we paid $55 for an hour for 3 people. Kids are not cheaper.

While a bit pricey to bowl ($15 an hour PER PERSON), the bowling experience was adequate. Unfortunately, the arcade experience was HORRIBLE! They specifically advertise the arcade being open until 11 on the day I visited, so around 10:30 I loaded a card with $20 (knowing the games were way over priced, I figured it'd be easy to blow in the time remaining). have to update my review. Sat up at the bar today and the kitchen had extremely loud music blasting out to the bar. I mean echoing obnoxiously in your face. People came in and put music on the jukebox but kitchen music is still overtaking it. So it sounds like a mess. Huge turn off. Recently remodeled and it was done very well. The new bar is fantastic and we really enjoyed the staff.

There place is a little above average, as far as clean and well kept. However, the bowling pricing is high. If you want to go just pick up a few games you can only reserve lanes 2hrs out and they charge you a booking fee. If you go to the lanes and find they are not busy they still charge 2x as much as other alleys I've been to and I have been to several alleys while traveling around.

Kids had a great time at the arcade; good selection of games to play. The bowling side was a little full, which was expected for a Saturday afternoon. Our lane did keep getting stuck but they gave us extra play time to make up for it. Great experience overall. Fun time for the family. Food was good but a little expensive so plan accordingly.

It's not one star because at least it's clean and well lit. After a second chance it's official though, the experience here is poor in comparison to other alleys. Wish I could give this place 0 stars and whoever "Roowie" or whoever was working 3/30 @8:30pm. I called and requested a 80$ refund because we had barely booked our reservation and had no ability to cancel within two hours because the reservation was less than 2hrs. I will forever talk badly about this place and tell the entire community to avoid this place and go to Jokers to bowl. Terrible service and terrible employee.

I came to the arcade this time and did not try anything else. It is a good time, the games are priced fairly compared to other arcades in the area. Only one machine was down and we all had fun. We paid for 2 lanes for 2 hours for a group of 8, 2 people didn't show up and so we put the 6 of us into each lane so we could all play in both games. The bald guy up front deleted our game halfway through and said we can only have 4 people in each game since we reserved for 8 people. This makes no sense as we were paying by the hour, not by the game. Each lane can have up to 8 people in it, so idk why he got mad we had 6.

I had a big party planned. Went in to the blowing alley to make reservations. As per the rude lady that works there. I am doing this on my computer, so you have to make your reservation online, it's self explanatory. The online reservation, allows 5 people per lane. (Its up to 8 people on the game screen) You only get an hour per lane reservation. So for 21 people you have to pay for 5 lanes. At $16 and change per person. That doesn't include a $2 shoe rental. Me and friends enjoy coming here every other day. Some lanes can be slow, but can be fixed by telling someone upfront in no time. The arcade is nice as well. Employees are helpful and nice. Overall a great place to hang with family and friends. :)

Its both a family friendly environment for the recreation bowlers while also providing good, well maintained lanes and a professional environment for the more serious league bowlers. What a mess. Had my family there I got there early to get lanes , because they "don't" do reservations although they are "available " online. Go ahead and try the online service didn't work at all. We got there had a tab at the bar ordered food at the lanes on my tab. My wife ordered the food . When the food showed up my wife was in the restroom . The lady delivering the food demanded a recipet it was on a tab !! I don't have a receipt yet. I had to walk all the way to bar to show her we ordered the pizza.

It's a great place to go have drinks, Jimmy is hawsome and he makes bomb drinks. We go there quite often, the staff at the Bar are friendly and they make you feel at home. Keep up the good attitude and great drinks??

Not a fun experience here. There's no air conditioning, there was no one manning the concession stand, the vending machine was nearly empty, and they didn't allow us to bring our own drink in for the kids. Thankfully the owner wasn't rude, but they made it really difficult to give them more of our money.

Used to love it, a little divey but had fun. Last time they were dead, no music on, check-in guy looked miserable, place was filthier than usual, 2 lanes broke, had to ask for help even though they were watching, and ended up just leaving... bummer. Giving this place a 1 star rating is being overly generous. I rented a room for my son's first birthday THREE months before the planned date. When I went to go decorate the room for my son's party they sent me to a little "party room". This room was a small unfinished, filthy carpeted, half painted joke. Had my sons party here the 26th of January and it was awesome the prices were more than fair the pizza was good. my kids loved the loved the jump house they provided for the party the staff was super accommodating. we had a great time would definetly book again!

Bowling was fun, and they had ramps for my toddler to use. My only gripe was that each rack of balls only had one weight. Had to walk nearly to the other side of the alley to find a ball that was the right weight.

Great bowling alley- lanes were about 80% full on a Saturday night, was able to get one right away. $35 for 2 shoe rentals and an hour of bowling, unlimited games, very reasonable, easy-to-understand pricing. This is a great place for birthday parties, date night, or a fun time out with friend. The arcade has its own party room and the arcade games are easy to use. Instead of token you get a game card that you can load money onto to play any of the games. Very family friendly but still fun for adults.

Many lanes, and a cool arcade, even fun for adults. Has a big room to host a part, the pizza smelled delicious. My only complaint was that the staff was less than friendly. They all acted like they hated being there and a question disconviened them. Best bowling in the Tri! The fact that you can reserve a lane, all in it's own, just about puts it in that position. But on top of that, all the equipment actually works, and the building is in good shape. (Looking at you, Atomic) Add to that, a well lit parking lot, friendly, helpful staff, and bumpers on demand for the kids in your group, and I don't see us going anywhere else in town every again!

Definitely a place to have some fun and laughs.This bowling alley keeps there lights on then some of the ones back at home in Vegas. So that was one of the differences I noticed and that the bowling area wasn't as slippery as Sams Town bowling area, so that definitely was a plus. Smaller place but one to definitely have fun with friends and family. The employees were very friendly and it was well maintained.

My partner?s family and myself went for her nephews 5th birthday when we arrived the woman up front was incredibly short with us she informed us that they only had one lane who's bumpers actually functioned she said well we can give ramps for them if they breakdown like they tend to do. The parents of the child had called and asked if they did party reservations they informed them no first come first serve but the lady informed us at checkout that a party had reserved those lanes for a birthday party at 130

Really nice people working there. It was me and my middle daughter and my 3 and half year ol grandson. He loves it. They even have dinosaur ball rollers for the little ones. Good times.

Birthday party in the arcade. The guy in charge came out with his gloves on touched his nose twice and went back to the kitchen and started making pizzas--I followed him NO he did not change gloves. Tables were decorated pink and lavender for a 7 year old boys party. Very dissatisfied...will NOT recommend. I was not rude to your staff, it was a different person. It was ok we kinda got rushed an it was not even to busy even though we paid for 2 games it cut us off before we were done so idk if we will go back to that one but other than that it was ok an a lil spendy but the kids enjoyed!

This review is strictly from my experience last night: both lanes my group was on had major issues. Spent entire time waiting for balls to return, resetting pins/frames, pinsetter kept freezing, frame scores not being recorded correctly, standing at counter for assistance. Gal at counter was more argumentative than helpful.

Nice facility with friendly staff. Great place to take kids for a night out, they get tired of bowling and there is a convenient arcade apparently that's a thing for a bowling alley to have now, which is not unreasonable. It's not necessarily cheap but it's not expensive either. It's cheaper than a movie that's for sure. It's clean and easy to have fun with the kids because there is food and drinks.
