Had a great time with coworkers here. We have a large group and a league. Our company chose to have the handicap system, where it will account for your skill level. Since most of us suck and are just here for a good time, it works pretty well. They also got handicaps for kids of all ages. I saw one kid have a slide thingy for their bowling ball, a neat early bowling experience. They also got food and an arcade. Great place for large groups!

Cool place to go. Fun and clean. A bit disorganized though. If the bar tenders and cooks had more help, it could be even better. Also to have someone serving while seated at your lane instead of having to go back and forth so much on your own would be useful and I think most would be willing to tip well for that kind of service.

I've enjoyed this bowling center as I participate in a league each week. They recently upgraded the carpeting and have done an amazing job of creating a Game Center for kids and adults. The staff is super helpful and friendly and respond to any machine glitches quickly to keep the play moving. Check out their summer youth program if you have kids or even grandchildren visiting.

Brought my girls here for their first time bowling. They had plenty of low weight balls for them to use. The electronic system for the rails is great and never had a concern. We will be visiting more.

Cool place. I went to bowl yesterday with some friends. Played the video games as well. What an amazingly cool experience. It was my first time there. I loved it. And definitely a place I'll go back to. Fun, fun, fun.

Nice bowling alley, clean, good bar area. Big arcade area for kids. Decorated cute for Christmas.

Great experience all around ! The staff was friendly - the lanes are updated with a light show, big screen tv?s and it was very clean and inviting ! Also the game area was fun time had by all ages - Will definitely be back !

Newly renovated. They have big screens, lively music, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Came here with my family last weekend and had the worst time. The balls kept getting stuck behind the pins while we used them and took a very long time to return. We only had an hour of play time and almost half of that time was used waiting for balls to return, even after grabbing more to use. Not to mention the computer glitching and freezing while bowling. When I told management about this issue, they said "Yeah, we know. Just keep throwing them and hopefully it'll come back." and stared at me. When I as

Had a great time!! Took our 3 year old grandson to celebrate his birthday! We all had so much fun! Kelly, at the front desk, was a huge help in assisting us!

A good time was had! Food was a bit pricey for the portions, but it wasn't an overcrowded establishment. My children are already planning another event there soon

Fun bowling alley that seems well maintained. The staff was very helpful and responsive the entire time we were there.

We came here right when the pandemic really hit the fan and there was not a lot open during our visit from Belleville, Michigan to Chattanooga, TN. We came with a group of 6. I think they did an amazing job despite all that was happen. You could constantly see staff wiping down the lanes, spraying inside of the bowling balls, and making sure your rental shoes were clean & fresh as well. Of course it wasn't super crowded when we went, but I really appreciate the way they maintained the establishment.

Thank you Spare time for allowing us to use your facility for our Bowl for Babies fundraiser for March of Dimes.

Great atmosphere for the whole family! Clean, friendly, FUN! they do have a pro shop for the fancy bowlers! ?? *UPDATED* Nov 25, 2023 ~ Fri/Sat night glow in the dark bowling from 10 to midnight... Unlimited games so that's the best time to take the family!! If you're wanting a more focused game skip glow bowling... The crowd it attracts makes it impossible to focus and arrows are near impossible to see due to lighting (to be expected). AND NOW THERE'S A BRAND NEW ARCADE!! You can earn tickets for cool pri

Had a ball with ladies I care for. Celebrated her birthday, a few friends came. We had a great time all of the staff were wonderful, food was o.k. We'll be spending more time here. Thanks for the excellent service.

Had a great time! Staff is great, food is great, music is great, we just love it here. We get coupons for bogo and come on "unlimited bowling" nights and have a great time for a small amount of $$$. The competitor on Lee hwy is no match for this place, and that's why we travel the extra distance from Ringgold. :)

School was closed so went and sucked it up bowling - lanes were good, lots of ball options- finger holes and weight, shoes were the cutest ?????????

Pretty awesome bowling alley. The bar is cozy and Megan was an amazing bartender. The food was good bar food. Watch out for league night if you wanna bowl aka Wednesday. Lol. Go bowling here!

It's more expensive than other bowling alleys I've been too but this one is probably one of the nicer ones I've been to, so maybe that's why.

If you want fun, and reasonable prices as well as the most friendly front desk, then you need to go here. ??

Went in today with my husband, a Thursday at 4:15pm. We looked at the website first to make sure lanes were open and available. There were maybe 6 cars in the parking lot. When we got inside the lady at the counter was on a personal call. She ended the call with an "I've got walk ins, I'll call you back soon, love you." She asked if we were with a league, which we weren't. We just wanted a date night of casual bowling. She told us all the lanes were taken, "I don't have an open lane because I have to clear

Great place to go bowling. Friendly staff, pizza was great and boneless wings were awesome ?? Recommend for a fun family time.

Thank you for the birthday accomodation, they were very helpful and the price justifies the plusses we got. They also get a bowling pin remembrance where other could write on it.We never received the free game cards tho for the bday celebrant and attendees which is included in package which kinda saddens me but other than that it was okay

50$ for two games +60$ for three orders of chicken strips and soft drinks. The lane computer glitched multiple times, and every piece of chicken had gristle. Absolutely ridiculous.

We had a blast!!!! Great spot for family fun!!!!

Great family night out! Bowling is great... food leaves a lot to be desired. Just make some pizzas or something so we dont have to get take out before we bowl!

Attendant was super chill and helpful. We were very inexperienced and still felt welcomed. The place was very organized. This place is awesome!!

Spare Time bowling in Hixson is the best for family entertainment, great prices, food and drinks and the customer service from the staff is beyond amazing!!

Great customer service made sure kids had good time and was able to bowl and have fun

Great bowling environment but the lanes were almost empty on Friday night due to the extremely high prices.

Enjoyed the bowling lanes! Thanks for the good vibes

We brought my son there for his birthday. The lady at the counter was so awesome and he had a blast while we were there. I didn't get her name but she made his day.

I don't bowl often though I did as a kid. The atmosphere is current but brought back memories. Beer is available with a fairly limited food selection. Pitchers of beer? Don't know. They have plastic Dragons for the little kids to roll their balls, improves speed And direction. And they can slide down as well. Gutter ball rails on demand per frame. The almost private bar is GA Bulldog friendly. And the Bulldog fans show up big time for the games. Go GA!

It was a great place. Had a arcade area with some pretty good games. They seemed like they had good maintenance. The bowling itself was good. The lane we were originally at stopped working but that isn't a major problem. Isn't even a problem. But the workers moved us for free and gave us 800 tickets. It has a bar area with karaoke. I gave it 4 starts insted of 5 because it doesn't have enough sitting

Fun time at Junior Gold for my son

Had an amazing time we go most thursdays for the pizza deal and I've never wrote a review because it's pretty standard, but today not only did we get good service but Blake Compton made it extra special even helping me with my form when I asked! The service was great and I appreciate the help. Will make sure to come here instead of the other spare time even though it's a little further every time because of their help and service!

So, I'm pretty picky. I had a hard time deciding between 4 & 5 stars. But when I thought about the place overall...Great staff, clean and decent prices. I think the arcade area leaves a little to be desired, but its not really that bad and the bathrooms are fairly clean, but could use a baby changing station to be a little more family friendly! I haven't eaten anything there, so I honestly cant comment on food & drink.

Had fun this weekend with my friends but the facility did seem in a state of disrepair. The bar was terribly dirty and so were our tables. If you came just to bowl this is a good place I guess just don't expect top class accommodating.

a little pricey, but lots of fun and great service!

We had a group of 7, which included 4 children. The staff was all friendly. Staff was helpful and patient with the kiddos while they figured out which size shoes fit best. Nice and clean environment.

We celebrated my daughter?s 16th birthday here and had a wonderful experience. Two hours of bowling and more food than we could eat. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is descent. Things are a little above fair price. Although it's descent someone slipped a fake ten dollar bill in my wife's change from buying some adult beverages, so just be mindful of your change if you purchase anything.

I always go with family but I love also to go see there amazing bartender Megan she know her stuff about drinks. And she great to talk to they have karaoke in the bar as well. The only thing is there not really that many young people on the karaoke night that I went to. I would suggest try to find away to get the younger crowd in there.

The facility was clean and our food was made fresh when ordered. We had a lot of fun! The staff are really nice and accommodating to help with anything you need. With covid im not sure if they are taking extra precautions to clean the balls after usage though or anything to clean shoes more than their usual spray though. On a Saturday night there were plenty of lanes open even though it was a little crowded on the opposite end. Ill definitely return.

We went here tonight for cosmic bowling 2hrs one lane 7 people for 154.00. The blacklights where out and when we told them they had no more. (Cosmic bowling with no blacklights)The lane kept messing up our scores. The guy at the snack bar tried to cheat my 11 yr old niece out of some money. I feel like if the blacklights where out and not working you should not pay full price. Also the music could barley be heard. The bar music was louder. This place really needs improvements.

Pretty awesome at night, going during the day is definitely different. Guy let us go sit at our lane early before the 2 hour bowl or whatever it's called. The only place I'd go to bowl.

This place is always a whole family favorite. A whole family of 8 bowling two games for under $100 is always a win in my book. They guys up front are always nice and happy to help when one of the kids mess up a lane! Lol. Great place, great food, great atmosphere!

Fun atmosphere and a wide variety of entertainment for everyone. The only thing I didn't like is they had one bartender on staff and ordering a drink took a while. They weren't very busy at this time. It would take even longer during busy times.

We had a great time, but that was one thing I didn't like. We had a group of people there and we was so hungry. They didn't open up the food court, until we got ready to leave. And we wasn't allowed to bring in any outside food. So we had to go elsewhere to get something to eat.

If you go early there's only one or two employees there. Overall great experience. With the exception of other people... I'd suggest, like I do with every bowling alley, to stagger lane assignments until full. One used, one unused, then one used again. So people have room between them. I can't ever get an answer as to why we as customers are always packed on top of each other.

Went to the spare time on Hixson, Tennessee. Upon entering we were not greeted. When we approached the counter there was a young lady who was white standing at the counter. She did not want to wait on us because we were black She walked off and the only black employee that worked there was out fixing a lane. He had to stop what he was doing to come and wait on us . We ordered food and all of the employees that was behind the counter was rude. I ordered my food and paid with a card, I even added a $5 dollar

Everything was great aside from the keypad to enter our names had many buttons that didn't work so the employee had to put it in at their desk.

It was okay. Building seemed kind of older and a little lackluster. Th prices were okay. My biggest complaint is that the snack bar girl was in the back constantly and it took about 10 min of us alternating going up to the counter between bowls to finally get service. Other employees saw us and didn't do anything. So, service not great.

Super fun. They were doing some remodeling, I look forward to seeing the finished product. Love the scoring devices. Lots of ball selections.

My grandson had his birthday here and he had an amazing time! They furnished decorations, food, drink and entertainment (bowling and arcade games), for a great price! Highly recommend!

We went for a team building event and they were able to put us together since they weren't too busy. We had a really good time. It has been a long time since I had been bowling and the electronic scoring system seems to be much better than I remember and we had no issues with it. The shoes that everyone in our group got appeared to be almost brand new so they have obviously replaced shoes recently. The only issue was that the new shoes or the floor condition didn't allow you to slide at all. We got use

If you think having a party here of 35 people might be a problem, you'd only be half right. Having that many people is a struggle, but not for the alley. We had a really good time, the lanes were great. However, I would caution against getting a drink. Not only is it $4 but you don't get refills. That's a bit of a steep price if you ask me. But! Enjoyed it.

My 6 year old went with her camp. She enjoyed it so much! She did not stop talking about it! The workers are friendly and full of laughs. I will be going back with my family really soon!

Kids had a blast very kid friendly place food a little expensive though but boys love it there

We come here every year for the bowling tournament. They do have some young staff but they are very friendly. They play good music- very family friendly! The prices on their menu aren't horrible like a lot of bowling alleys.

Not on a league, just casual bowlers. Shoes were a wee bit sticky. Very busy & service is good. Music isn't too loud & the bathrooms were clean. Good experience overall.

We could finally had a date night! We only had to wear a mask till we got to our lane then we could just have fun. Very nice staff (every single person we interacted with), very clean, and just a great night out!

Lots of fun, lots of money. Formerly Holiday Bowl #2. Site of my wife and I first date many years ago. If you got the money they have all you need for a fun evening, defiantly not for those on a budget.

Great place to go and roll a few frames with the family. Clean and comfortable with good food and beer on tap! Affordable pricing makes it hard to say no to this place!

Little pricey depending on what date you choose to go, but they do have daily specials. The actual place seemed a dated, dingy, and a bit dirty. I did not try any food or drinks. Despite it being outdated, we had fun and the place served it's purpose.

Terrible experience and service. My son and I paid $14 for one game. The lane kept breaking down and wouldn't reset. We could not bowl more than two throws at a time. No one answering the call button. In 5 frames i had to go the front desk 4 different times to get it to reset. When asked for a refund after giving up on the 4th attempt they would only pay back $2 as we already had ?played.? Needless to say we won't be back.

The person at the concession stand was rude ! We paid for the unlimited pizza and bowling and he acted like he didn't want to make us one pizza. He closed like 20 mins earlier then what we were told. He also try to say my fianc? ID was fake just to scan it and of course it was real. Never coming here again ! Staying at the brained one it's way better.

Really a great place for the office events to be conducted here, manager provided enough dedicated lines for us with standard pricing and she also supported very well for our food arrangements and they have good number of kids machine to be engaged and also the menu they had is also fine for both Veg and Non-veg dishes. The 2 reasons for 4 star rating is that they don't have the VIP Lounge as like their other location and also the kids game needs to be managed by us they don't have an option for providing s

Fun family environment, expensive bar drinks. Don't feed in to the hype of "unlimited bowling" from 9-11 on Thursdays.....if they aren't busy they will try and shut you down early. They turned our lane off 15 minutes until quit time and would not let us even finish our 10th frame.

Do not order food or beverage at this bowling alley there were gnats in my beer and the pizza was frozen in the middle. The food was disgusting. Bathrooms were very dirty toilet seats had pee on them and there was no toilet paper. This place is extremely dirty and smells bad. It is obviously very old and is an extremely need of a facelift and some febreze and bleach.

My family is starting to bowl together quite regularly and this location happens to be the most convenient. For the most part the staff is ok, the lanes are ok, but for whatever reason for the past 2 months we've had annoying issues each lane we have been on. Sometimes more pins will be up than what the score says or the lane will get frozen. Over all the place is just OK

Very expensive. Snack bar was closed at 1p on a Sunday afternoon. My grandson had a good time. A lot of the games in the game room were out of order If not for him I wouldn't have gone at all.

It's Extremely expensive to bowl here. 17$ for 3 games is HIGH. The lane surfaces are great but they flood them with oil so that people like me who bowl competitively have a tough time actually hooking the ball any where you throw it on the lane. Staff is nice and polite but sometimes that doesn't make up for the crazy high per game prices( and the price per game includes shoes but if you don't need rental shoes like me why should I have to pay that much?) also it's kinda dark on the lanes too. Hard to see

Insanely expensive for the services offered. Staff was not helpful or friendly. Waited in line at the conssession stand to get a beer and after getting to the front of the line I was told I would have to order alcohol at the bar. I went into the bar and the line was to the back of the room. After 20 minutes of standing in that line with no moving I gave up. Came back out to the conssession stand and they were handing someone a beer.

We love Spare Time Hixson!!! The Kids Summer Program is fantastic! They are always kind to our son. Looking forward to heading back this week!

Spare Time employees are wonderful, kind, helpful and very special people. The atmosphere is family like, except when the bar is open, then sometimes there are people who may drink to much and can get nasty, but the staff does take care of that person quickly. I enjoy bowling here, not just on the league, but with friends and family.

We had a ball here, no pun intended lol very clean even the rest rooms were clean. Watch our kids play we were laughing our butts off. Would recommend if you want to do something after dinner, go here and just have fun.

Wow !! Went to Holiday Bowl to bowl in a tournament last weekend, they have been running this for 15+years, always was a decent house shot and scoring was usually pretty good, all changed as they decided to use a sport shot pattern the 95% of people cant bowl on. I saw people with 180+ averages not even hit 100. Why would they do this?? Maybe this is their last year running it, if not I know of 30-50 people that wont be back as well as 20+ that asked us how it went, We told them to save the gas and entry fe

Horrible experience. Food was overcooked, you have to pay for refills on soda, and when told 4x me and the Mrs wanted a total of 4 games to play against each other we only got 2...never will go back. Gladly will stay in Brainerd.

Not happy with this place, paid for all you can bowl birthday deal with free pizza but we stayed unroll almost closing and they turned off ourlanes when we only had 4 frames left to bowl. They cut us off short and when we asked for our free pizza they said they were out and weren't gonna make anymore. At this time it was actually about 15 min. unroll closing. Still they should honor what they sell. Mean spirited staff.

My son bowls for his high school bowling team. They lead staff heard that the coach wanted him to move up to a heavier ball and they jumped in and gave us 2 bowling balls the exact weight needed. The balls were donated by an elder to help our high school kids. A great experience.

Its your standard bowling alley. They still have a feel that league bowlers enjoy but still have done a little remodeling to also appease the night crowds. This location though at least didnt go crazy with the updates like its sister location in Brainard has. While the other location has a whole dining room setup, this location still has the snack bar. The pizza is average for what youd expect. The lane conditions seem to vary week to week at least through this summer. Granted weather conditions play a part

Had so much fun going but due to covid they don't allow pitchers of beer to be used anymore. If you go and do want to have one or two you have to go inside the bar and bring it back out to your Lane and it's not very effecient or cost effective bc inside the bar its$6-$8 a single beer! So this review is left Just as a heads up if you're planning on going with a party of 4-5 or more people that drink one or more each. Since the pandemic if you haven't been just know You won't get pitchers here.

This bowling alley is really nice but a little pricey. For a group of 8 with 2 games and shoes was $133.28. I guess you could say, You get what you pay for. Restrooms were super clean, water fountsins worked and the lanes were well taken care of. I love the set-up of the lanes as well. We ordered 2 large pizzas, appetizers and drinks and spent a little over $100. The food was like your typical sports bar food. All in all it was a great time with the fam bam!

AWESOME!!! Place. I loved the atmosphere and the people were so nice plus the food was great as well.

It was a fun time visiting the car show out in the parking lot but when we took our kiddo inside to play games in the arcade most of the games were broken and none of them gave out tickets for him to spend at the ticket shop BONUS TIP the claw rubber duck game that says winner every time is true at least he got 8 rubber ducks for $10 worth of play credits down fall he missed out on over 72 tickets but he had fun and we did to spending time together but when it was time to leave and he walked by the prize ti

Nicely updated alley. Very comfortable layout. Management is courteous and accommodating. We bring the kids every holiday for a fun afternoon out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
