This place would actually be really cool. If all the games are at least most of the games worked. Actually, most of the games still work. They were probably only about 13 or 14 out of order out of service or didn't work correctly. The bowling lanes were pretty decent. Seems like a great place to have a birthday party. The laser tag is good and the food is actually pretty tasty too.
I had family in town and we went on a Saturday evening. There was no wait and we were put in the VIP area, it's away from everyone else and there are only 4 lanes in there so I absolutely loved it. We didn't order food but we did have drinks, they were rather pricey but hey, you can't win them all. I do recommend this place and I also suggest you check Groupon to see if they have a deal because you can buy it and you have 3 months to use it.
I came here with my bro and some of our family and friends. We were celebrating my bro's bachelor party 2 days before the day of his wedding. The bowling an laser tag were both fun experiences. Because it was not that busy, we were also able to order food and it did not take long at all to arrive. Overall I will definitely return whenever I get the chance.
Essy food order with kiosk though would have been good if they hadthe beer tap working but they had bottles so that worked out fine. Overall decent place and nice front and food staff. Best part no struggling with placing an order with kiosk. Food came quickly. Will Definitely come again.
Fun place. Pleasant staff. Clean facilities. Spent a family day there with my tiny humans. The wings and drink were good, but pizza isn't good. I would not recommend it or order the pizza again. The arcade was also nice to play and hang out at.
We had a great time at Spare time. We brought 10 people and lanes were available in 15 minutes. The food was good and moderately priced.
Awesome bowling alley! The general manager was super friendly, even though they were clearly short-staffed. There are lots of games, and the whole place has a fun, energetic vibe. It seems like they have good food too. Overall, a high-quality bowling alley worth checking out!
Really enjoy our visit! Arrive early for the after dark event so we spent a hour in the arcade won some tickets and got some great prizes. Bowling shoes are in great shape. We had an amazing Waitress and had some of the best food and drinks. Our teens had a blast and that's all the matters! Bathrooms could have used some service but overall great experience
I planned an event for a group of young girls and every single staff member went above and beyond. The manager was incredibly patient and kind and checked on my group periodically throughout the evening to make sure we were okay. At one point we were playing laser tag with 2 older kids, and as soon as one of the older kids said something distasteful to one of my girls one of the staff members shut it down immediately. They really did a good job helping me plan the event and even taking care of us once we
Kids had a blast. Employees were very kind and helped whenever needed. Food and beer were great.
Fantastic update to the old Holiday Bowl! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is lively with TVs and games everywhere, and the lanes are top-notch. Plus, the security and overall experience make it a great spot for a fun night out. Highly recommend!
We went for the arcade with kids and they had a blast! Seems like a fun environment for adults to gather - food was limited but good!
Family friendly ??. Mom and dad can have a drink. Kids can have food and play at the arcade along with bowling. Great place for family fun. They also have laser tag.
The staff was very nice and helpful and the prices aren't to bad either. They have a goodd variety of arcade games to play and also have laser tag. They have a bar and a area for food. They also have pretty good specials as well. Gotta go more to experience more.
Had the best experience! Julia was so pleasant to contact throughout our booking for company holiday party. We changed arrangements a few times. She was gracious. Gave us multiple options. Our team had a blast and will definitely do it again! Thank you Julia!
Awesome huge place to go bowling. Staff was friendly and quick service. Price for bowling was better than there competitors in Hixson. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.
It was mostly good except for the lady with curly hair at the reception she said 2 games at the beginning and I paid for them and bought drinks and everything and at the end she said it was only one game and that I had to pay again. She was also very sarcastic and didn't have good customer service. Everything was good the bar attendant was very good. Everyone was very nice except for the lady in the front desk I didn't like her attitude
Love this bowling alley! It can get a little busy, but they have a restaurant with plenty seating. The food is a little pricey, but honestly so worth it. Fast, friendly service that is felt everywhere in the building. Been back multiple times, and look forward to it in the future.
Very fun place to spend time with family
I have a great time here. There is a police presence at the door so I feel safe. The employees are friendly and help you save money when they can. The bowling shoes are in decent shape. The bathrooms were clean.
Great place to hang out with the family after the holidays and make wonderful memories!
Had a great time here! There are many options for food. Fare prices. Good place for a team bonding.
We had a great time while visiting family in Tennessee and we spent an evening at Spare Time. It was so fun. We won tons of games and got prizes before we left. Even a huge ball that we play with often. We'll definitely return.
Quick service. Nice employees. No delay in any aspect of the experience.
We celebrated our daughters birthday at this location over the weekend and could not have been more impressed! Typically we celebrate her birthday at Disney, but with the pandemic and a new baby we decided to stay a little closer to home this year. I was hesitant when she wanted me to look into a bowling alley, but we all had so much fun! Our host, Wendy, was the absolute sweetest and honestly made the experience special for us . They had decorations set up when we arrived, but we brought our own. Wendy h
It is what you would expect, a place to spend a quick $50-100 on flashing lights and entertainment for children.
Always a good time. Caught a New Years deal and was able to play laser tag for the same price.
Went and played 2 games of bowling and spent $80 in the arcade . The pins are connected to wires so no matter how hard you throw a ball it's almost impossible to hit a strike ! They don't open the cafe until 5 so no food and the arcade was mostly shut down or out of order . The prize area was closed as well .
Friendly staff Edit: I changed my review to 1 star since they have added these kiosks to order food and beverages it is kind of BS to the servers and I think they should be disabled while leagues and parties are going on. It's just rude and inconsiderate to the servers working and taking money from their pockets. Seems like corporate just wants money without taking care of their hard working employees
We visited the facility, but unfortunately, a snowstorm had hit the previous day, resulting in a shortage of staff. Consequently, we were unable to order food or drinks. Despite this setback, the facility was exceptionally well-maintained, and we enjoyed a a few games.
Amazing facelift!! Haven't been there in about 5 years. It reminds me of a small Dave and busters. We had an awesome time with the new halo arcade game!!
Super nice staff and good balls
This place is really cool, lots of space and a great esthetic. Pretty reasonable prices. There were some things that collectively impacted our experience in a negative way and could really use some attention. The first lane that we were on did not record our scores properly and resulted in me and my daughter not being credited for strikes. We were moved to another lane to start over, and the balls kept getting stuck, so we had to use extra balls. The arcade area had a couple of games that didn't work, and t
Service at the bar, the service at the tables, and the service at the lanes was all pretty awful. Also why does it cost $58 for 2 people to bowl for an hour? It's not worth it to go back. FAIL
First I one I've been since the name change and remodel. Took my grandson and nephew. It was very nice and clean. Love the decor. Got to bowl in VIP section! Very nice!
This bowling alley was extremely nice! Everything was very updated and well laid out. There was a large arcade and nice seating area to take a break for drinks and snacks. The lanes looked good and there was a touch screen pad used to input players and control the options. Super nice! Would visit again!
2nd year in a row doing NYE at Sparetime Bowling on Brainerd road. Absolutely LOVE IT. Great family friendly fun, good food, Manager Dewayne Gass keeps the party going and is really great at the hype. Kids and adults of all ages just having a really fun and safe night. The rest of the team is great as well. They keep it fun and are really helpful. 10/10!!!
We just celebrated my daughter?s 7th Birthday today at this location! Wow I am blown away by the management and staff. They were absolutely outstanding in every way possible. We were greeted by the manager immediately to let us know they would be glad to help with whatever we needed. We had a party attendant that helped us set up our tables with the decor we brought, got the food ordered, got each child?s bowling shoes, and everything above and beyond that. If you are looking for a great place for a party I
Always a fun time at spare time. The key ds love the arcade. It's always clean and plenty of equipment for everyone. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly.
Great family atmosphere. Courteous associates and wonderful amenities throughout.
We (me n my husband) thoroughly enjoyed the bowling, loved the place, food n drinks were bit expensive. Overall was good.
They had about 6 games that were out of order in the arcade but everything else was great
Loads of fun. Moderate pricing and well-managed. Had to reset the frames a few times, which was no big deal, but it did slow us down so that our last bowler needed more time for his last frame. I asked Patrick, the manager, for 60 more seconds. While it's not their protocol, he was accommodating. We were able to finish the game, and we appreciated the service. Five stars for management.
Every night they apparently have ?league night? with NO ADVERTISING!!! So if you want to go bowling after around 4 o'clock don't bother. Try explaining that to a four year old after they are crying because the bowling place doesn't allow people to bowl. Here's a concept- LEAVE AT LEAST ONE LANE OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC!
The place was very busy one the wet day of April 7th. The staff was not friendly at all. We stood in line waiting to be asked if we needed help. It appeared as if managers were there viewing spectators and not offering any help to the staff. A very polite lady finally offered to help us just before being pulled away to handle another task! Rain was in the forecast for the day we were there and a staff member stated they are swamped on wet days. Why wasn't ENOUGH STAFF there?... Despite the above passage my
Our very large family just had the best kids? birthday celebration ever at Spare Time! Patrick (Manager), Julia (Event Planner), Jackson (Party Host), and Matt (Bartender) made sure everyone in our party had a fantastic time! Everything here is unbelievably clean and the entire staff works their butts off to make sure the entire place is spotless and that all equipment is working properly. Highly recommend Spare Time for any celebration!!! We'll definitely be back!
Nice clean place to have kids of fun with friends and family. They offer things for little ones also. The whole family will have a blast!
Police patrolling the floor. 9 people assigned to one bowling lane. Food is cold coming out of the kitchen. They forget to put alcohol in the drinks because the bartender is 16. The bowling lanes randomly break in the middle of a game. Not sure how this place makes money but I know how they steal it. 0 stars.
George the assistant manager doesn't allow you to have the rails up after spending $60 there if nobody in your party is under 12 years old. Got a refund but terrible service don't recommend coming
Went and played laser tag. It felt great to be up and active!
Great place to go with the family and friends. They have food and drinks for adults too. Bowling, laser tag, and arcade. The bathroom are clean the staff is friendly too.
Loved it. Friendly staff. Food good. Nice.
They change their discount rules depending on who's working. I'm sure ownership wouldn't be happy losing revenue over their staffs discretion. I really wanted to come here regularly but the rate shouldn't be changing every week, this is unethical. Horrible experience every time. This is a bowling alley, not the stock market. No wonder there's so many issues.
Nice people, cool place but make a reservation. For everything. Bowling, laser tag, even the bathroom. It says walk ins welcome, but make a reservation.
We celebrated an adult birthday party in the VIP Room and it was a blast! Lilly Bynum, the event planner, made the planning so so easy and was quick to respond. She greeted us before the event began and showed us around and introduced us to the bar staff, all of whom were so nice and fun. The food was good and came out exactly when I had requested. They provided everything, even for the cupcakes that we brought. We were even able to pick our own music as well, which was very accommodating. Highly recommend!
Me and the whole group hated the string pins.. they sucked. The vip room is trash now????
A bit understaffed the day we went. We still had a blast just had to utilize more patience than I wanted ??
Sucks how you can charge a card but can't use it for laser tag. Nice overall
Great amd up to date environment, friendly service and not too bad for a busy night, good food and drinks served to us as well! Lanes are very clean and fair. Restrooms were also kept clean throughout the night. Will definitely be back regularly.
Amazing! Had a wonderful experience and the staff were friendly. I recommend the game where you have to hit the button with the hammer JUST right, not with as much strength but in the Goldilocks zone. It's pretty easy to get the 500 ticket jackpot on that game.
My experience could be greatly influenced by how my children were acting but there were a few things I noticed. First I do think it was white a high price for 1 game. Second we did have to ask to get the balls to come back. Also weren't told how to put up the bumpers. Very nice alley. Clean and the booths at each lane were much nicer than the hard chairs.
Great space. Surprisingly good food, awesome environment kid friendly
My cousins birthday was a lot of fun and we had someone on standby the entire time if we had any questions they were there to answer! The pizza was very good! And in the arcade my 3 year old won a few different machines jackpots but I didn't get nearly as lucky but enjoyed some skee ball the only thing that was slightly could improve on is the set up for the parties at the lanes no one really could use the seats because we would have to climb over each other so we stood in a penguin style huddle mostly lol
wonderful environment and staff, excellent space to spend time with company
Honestly a terrible experience. I go bowling all the time and don't usually complain. But this was a terrible time. We arrive and pay for bowling and before I could even pay and say thank you the lady is screaming at people at the top of her lungs. Like why are you yelling in my face ? Rude. Second the lane was barely working. Wasn't counting scores, balls were getting stuck and the lane was shutting down. So my husband went to tell someone to reset it. And the MANAGER LAUGHED IN HIS FACE!! Like seriously !
A great time was had by all.. age 3 to 73!!
Very fun and nice atmosphere. Food is a bit pricey but good. We went on a Saturday night, there was 1hr and a half wait to bowl so we grabbed a bite to eat while we waited to bowl. Food, drinks, 2 bowling lanes for an hour for 12 people $280.
We first went to eat at the bar grill. The server ?India? was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The food was pretty good. I got the Piggy Burger. Sheesh. That patty was thick. We also got the Cowboy Tots as a starter which was interesting and tasty. The food is a little on the pricey side but still good food. For having unlimited game time on Tuesdays from 9p-12a it was very quiet. Besides my wife and I there was maybe 2 other small groups. Unlimited game play does not allow you to earn tickets which is k
Had a great time at the new years eve celebration. Great place, great food and staff are awesome.
Julia, the events coordinator, Stormie, our host, and George, the kitchen manager, absolutely made sure we had a fantastic time! Our company planned an impromptu visit and we absolutely loved it! Great atmosphere, food, and fun!
Good luck getting good service when you order food. Here's just a few things that went wrong during our visit on 5/28/24 at 6:30pm. First, I had 2 bugs in my wine when the waitress brought it out. Second, I had to track down someone to take care of us when we wanted to order food. Third, didn't see the waitress again after we ordered and we were just wanting some refills on our drinks. We told the front desk that we needed refills and after waiting for about 20 minutes we had to ask the front desk again. If
First time it was nice family place me and fiance had a lunch bowling date with out the kids enjoyed it
I really liked the individual bumper option during the game!
Had a Groupon and which they won't allow reservations for. When we arrived it was a 2.5hr wait. Wish they had explained that with the coupon. Manager did his best to accommodate us even checking with the Hixon location.
Top tier experience and great for Christians and non Christians alike. Amplify was amazing!!
It's an alright bowling alley. Definitely one of the better ones in Chattanooga. Paying 55 dollars for 2 games for 2 adults and a kid is too pricey. The lanes are always super oiled up during open play and hard to get my hammer ball to grip the lane to curve. Unless you go during one of the late night all you can bowl hours, there are better activities for the family to do.
Had a blast and love the atmosphere!! The 2 hr bowling special from 9pm-11pm for $10 is awesome, but we felt like they were trying to close down early. They closed the game shop at 10:15, and started announcing last call for food/drinks at 10:20, but after we asked if we could still play games they opened it back up. They ended up shutting all the games down at 10:55, but I nderstand that is probably their protocol! Overall we had a good night! I give it a 3 star rating and would visit again??
Great father/son time for Memorial Day! Had a massive pretzel and the atmosphere was fun, video games were crazy (they have all the things) we will be back again soon thanks Spare Time!
Love spare time Great place to take the family or for the 21+ a bar to enjoy some great drinks.
Our go to bowling alley. Staff is amazing. Stormy makes us smile every time we see her.
Was glad to see that they have hired Chattanooga Police as guards to keep it family friendly & safe for kids. Was a bit disappointed in the price of a single game of bowling for 4 people though. Arcade had some fun games. And I like that the tickets go on a card now instead of paper. All in all, a good family friendly place.
Fun time. Went for my nieces birthday party and it was very well worth it. The kid that was our birthday host was great with the kids and interacted great with the parents too. All around fun.
0.5 stars. Brought my family to bowl on a Thursday afternoon, EVERY lane was taken by a school on a field trip AND the kitchen was closed. There was no sign or anything. If you know you have an event that will require every single lane the kitchen to be closed , maybe close to the public or ATLEAST put up a sign.
Probably the best bowling experience I've ever had. The food choices here are awesome. Not standard bowling alley fare. The extra experiences, (the arcade, the lighting, the videos) make it a fun place to just hang out. It's a great place.
Cute family establishment
The venue is nice and would be great for business or league bowling. However, this is not the place to go for fun family entertainment. We arrived around 5:30pm to bowl and all lanes were completely full up for the remainder of the night. I feel that after the remodel many lanes were reduced to make room for the bar and lounge area. This is supposed to be a bowling alley not a bar. Apparently they have half the venue for VIP bowling lanes but do not open them for non vip members even when the 8-10 regular l
This place was really cool! The staff was great! Great time!
Fabulous customer service, everything was clean, food was great!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
