The South Beach arcade is generally well-regarded, with many praising its classic Jersey shore vibe, family-friendly atmosphere, and variety of games. Most reviews highlight clean facilities, friendly staff, and fun experiences, especially for kids. While some appreciate the winnable prizes and fair pricing during promotions, others criticize rigged machines, particularly claw games, and occasional technical issues. Customer Reviews

Still open! Even when every business in closed in the boardwalk. The aign said they are open the whole year round... sounds like fun is still here. Went inside and pretty much all the arcade games are still open and there were a bunch of people inside. Nice time to play, no lines and pretty much you have the whole arcade for yourself and your friends! And oh it said its half the price at certain time!

South Beach is the Point arcade I've been going to my whole life. Might not be the biggest on the boardwalk but it's definitely my favorite. My husband and I stopped in on Friday and had so much fun. We were excited to learn games are half price every day from 3 to 5. We also were excited to find some claw machine prizes can be traded in for earned game points. We very excitedly traded points for a seagull stuffed animal!

Not fair for the little kids. They should do something exciting for the little kids. 4, 5 and 6 years old.

This place is tricking people with the claw machines. It is a scam. It is a scam, because they are not providing a fair opportunity to win they are attracting people to the machine even though they know that the claw will not work. All the games had the plushies and toys very close and thigh, that practice is very usual for the claw machines. The Care Bears game had toys dispersed and very close to the hole, many people were attracted to the game. I scanned my play card and the claw didn't drop to pick the

Overall very fun getting tickets is fun and the ticket roll machines are the best for earning them fast

Handicap accessible. Handicap bathrooms are available. Clean arcade and bathrooms. Wide variety of games. Friendly staff.

Amazing arcade! My 2.5-year-old played for 2 hours during their half price game days and best part was we only spent $25! Also you get a lot more stuff with your points then most arcades!

The E-tickets are easy and fast to get, especially on monopoly. The prizes are great. I won a cup, an animal snack bag toy, and a coster. I would definitely recommend it.

Been going here for 25 years and me and the family have always had a blast. Games change ever year or so and the staff are attentive. Solid prize selection. I wish they went back to doing the high score list every year though, that was extra fun.

Excellent view of the beach. Super candy shop.

I brought both of my daughters there yesterday Thursday 3/24/22 and found the Experience was less than great! Expensive and the men working the counter were Expressionless and made it feel that we were bothering them! It made me rush my daughters out of there definitely not the experience I remember as a kid! Tried it again today 1/29/23 same experience???? I should?ve known better

The people who work there all were so helpful. They helped with a game that malfunctioned and Jay was so helpful when our card got misplaced. He was able to pull up our missing card so we didn't lose all the tickets we worked to get all week.

Beter Arcade Thean Others Please Open One In Phily?

Really fun time! Went during Happy Hour and ime card with 25$ worth of play was so worth it for me and a friend. Not 5 stars since we couldnt get our Play Card to work on all the machines and we lost a few credits. Prizes up front arent very good but we did well at the claw machines and those prizes are great.

Been coming to the South Beach arcade for years, almost always a good time. They keep clean, classic Jersey shore arcade experience.

Do not try any claw machines except for the ticket ones. Any big prizes you want won't pick up. The claw will literally pick them all of the way up and drop them at random times. Not worth it.

I realize it's a business but paying just to see the ocean ain't exactly my cup of tea.

Great arcade to keep the kids amused and the adults!! Very clean

The games at this arcade are rigged way more than anywhere else, don't bother coming. You can play the same claw machine 20 times and pick up the prize each time without winning it. Your skills don't matter here, it's rigged to drop the prize, that is if the claw even closes tightly enough around it. It's rare to see someone winning at this arcade, you're much better off at Pavillion.

Go for happy hour for great deals on games. Cranes are winnable but stick to the smaller prizes. Win the easiest as you are allowed to substitute for the prize you want in the machine.

Been coming here for years and have gotten to know the staff and everyone is friendly and helpful. Smaller then some other but just as fun. The family always has a great time.

Pricey, the prizes are stupid. You need to spend hundreds of dollars to win a $10 prize. The lights can give you epileptic seizures outside the building. The claw machines will pick up a prize then the claw is defective or rigged because all of a sudden it'll let it go. Disappointing.

Poorly run place. No PROPER diaper. Hanging station just a hard counter top. They leave the door WIDE OPEN! after decades of coming here since childhood my how things have changed. You have cleaners vacumming while your walking so you trip...listen if you want to keep making money then don't rush people out of your way!

Small arcade with several types of games throughout. Skee ball is much more reasonable to beat the high score here, and they tend to update some games each year. Doesn't seem to get as crowded as some of the other arcades along the boardwalk.

It was ok. One thing i ask is if the could add a wall between the squishmallow clips machine because I got one I wanted it was about to go in but it went to the other machine

Games are limited and some were not in working order. We visited in peak season, so I'm sure upkeep is difficult. Prize selection was adequate for my kids.

Very fun, like most arcades, some tots are hard to get, but there were various games that you could win prizes, like how i won an avocado plushie.

I took my granddaughter to South Beach boardwalk and I will be back before the ?? summer is gone that's what we like to do for my granddaughter and they have plenty of rides for the kids

The staff is very polite and kind. I don't know how they work without air-conditioned workplace...it was dreadfully hot

A very nice arcade on the Jersey Shore. Clean with a lot of fun games and very helpful friendly staff. Never had a bad experience here. I will enjoy coming here for years to come.

Smaller selection of games than its sibling South Arcade. A plus is that cards and tickets are good at both. Half price games 2-4 weekdays.

Love it! They have so many safty protocols in place I feel safe here. Not to many people and they are constantly cleaning. Great escape

I've been a member of this arcade for many years. I go there every month. They have games for everyone and every age!

Great for kids who are big enough to enjoy it.some rides not in use.wood be nice if shade was provided and ice when you bought a ?? drink!

Too many machines charge you prepaid card multiple times. Also, almost every single two player machine would take payments for 2 player but only one player mode would work. This desperately needs to be fixed. It is fraud and false advertising. Not enough for me to care but none the less.

Overpriced games, the claw machines are a total scam and miss the days when a 10.00 roll of quarters lasted longer than 2 chance games! Really 5.00 a play.....

The worst arcade on the shore. Ate all of our money and almost all of the games are broken. No employees even bothered to help or care. Would not recommend coming here. Take your money elsewhere.

Place was empty, not surprising given it's off season. My son and I were the only ones in there. My son has some special needs, I'm not sure if someone working there today intentionally reset his skee ball machine a few times, if so thank you. ??

This is the kind've arcade that no one really cares about so they just set their machines to get as much money as possible so they dont have to shut down. I mean honestly at this point no one ever wins here and their prizes remain the same for months. Disappointing.

It's a fun place! The prizes cost a lot of tickets, but the people are nice and the game selection is great!

Took 3 of my grandkids here today and had a blast! Great family fun for everyone!

Worst arcade. Spent 20 dollars on a claw machine which released every time it pulled it to the top. Then to come find out a worker was setting the claw machines to release as soon as it got to the top with the toy on the other side.

Looks like crossy road arcade makes them busy re-filling tickets so they reset the game, bonus tickets reduce from 1000 to 250. Still playable.

My little grandaughter loved it she had a great time . It has many different things to do

Nicest staff ever and came home with loads of great exciting prizes. Such a good time for all ages!

I have an affinity for arcades at the shore. I just feel like nostalgia here. Its very clean and family friendly, too.

I believe the grabbing machines are fixed so they take your money and don't give out very few prizes

First time in point pleasant and the service was awful. Wouldn't come here again. Treated all my friends with disrespect

Great value for the money spent. Very helpful and patient staff as the kids picked prizes.

It's fun to play games here. Just don't expect to win a real prize. You'll be lucky to get a stick of gum afterwards!

Lots of games open all year round. Something nice to do on a cold winter day or beautiful summer night.

My favorite arcade on the boardwalk for sure.

Awesome place to play old school and new games. Plus, they sell fried oreos next door. Decadent!!!

Very fun kids love it Games always work

My favorite Arcade, great variety of games. Got my new TV today from saving points!!

A nice place for playing some arcades and try some luck, trying to get a prize.

Open all year!! Small, but a great place to take little ones.

Machines keep breaking down claw game keep dropping prizes when go to top never holds prizes

Great arcade, lots of fun games here!!

Games and prizes. Combined with the AC! What more could you ask for on a Summer visit?

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are virtual reality games in arcades worth playing?

Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
