Pretty cool little pinball spot. Two friend and I visited on Thursday evening. We had the whole place to ourselves. We paid $10 each for unlimited play for 2 hours. Well worth it. The majority of the machines played very well to excellent. They had machines from the 1970's to modern day ones. I think they have ~45 machines, as well as a Super NES and a couple upright video game cabinets. There are a couple seating areas, one with two tables and a couple tucked away with couches and chairs. The pla
If you like pinball then this place is for you. It's a very chill atmosphere with lots of machines that are upkept. This is a hidden gem that you have to give a shot. Prices for all you can play for 2 hrs or all day are unbeatable. Frindley staff and a very clean facility. I can't wait to go back
I had never been before, it was a lot of fun. The staff was nice, they are a block or so south of KC Wheel. If you are doing a date night you could do mini golf, the wheel, and pinball all on the same block. They are located where the Blue Beetle signs are. All their machines were in great condition and they even had some antique pinball games. I took some photos of some of the machines, they have a lot more than what I took pictures of. There's a black light room in the back with more pinball machine
Came here for a crafting event and had a great time. They're an event space in addition to being a such a cool place to come play pinball. The vibes are immaculate. I'll definitely be back.
If you're serious about playing pinball, you have to visit this place in Kansas City. Lots of periods represented. All the machines are tuned to the best standards and you can get a couple hours in for 10 bucks or all day for 20. Not much better than that. About 33 machines on the floor at any given time. Very casual and cool staff, owner is a competitor, so he really cares about the machines. BYOB and BYOF, but they do sell snacks and drinks. Lots of places to sit and chill or work, they have free WiFi.
Great new location and very well maintained pinball machines. League night is great for new players and a great community!
When you walk in and the owner is right there playing, you know you're in a special place. Solid State is truly a gem of Kansas City. Super friendly atmosphere and the variety of machines is great. Pinball related merch shop was cool and there are machines for sale and a parts section if you've got the itch to have one of your own or need repairs. Been looking for a place like this after moving here from St. Louis back in 2020 and happy to say I've found the perfect one. Highly recommend if you like pinball
This is a great pinball place. Staff is friendly and the patrons have all been awesome. Games are well taken care of, and all you can play for a good price. If bars aren't your thing then this is a good place to hang out!
Super sweet. Pretty affordable to play all the games you want, lots of games are available on Insider connect. The guy working there gave my friend and I some pinball advice because we told him we were beginners. The atmosphere was very serene, not a whole lot of people in there with us. They've got an NES in a little pocket corner, mostly pinball machines of course. All of the machines are very well maintained and we even witnessed some repairs being done while we were there.
This new location is incredible. Lots of space, which is great for get-togethers or your kid's parties. All well maintained machines. If you're looking to get into pinball or are a seasoned pin-head, this spot has something for everyone. A true staple to the KC Pinball and Arcade community.
This place is a rare gem. They have an excellent mix of new, classic, and antique machines that are all in great condition. $10 for two hours of pinball is a hell of a deal. They even allow outside food and drink, as long as you keep it responsible and use a koozie for booze cuz kids. Another option is $20 for a day pass, and you're free to leave and come back later.
The best pinball in Kansas City. The machines are well cared for and the community is friendly and welcoming to people of all skill levels. The unlimited play for a set price makes it a great place to bring kids.
Solid State provides serious competition to Disney's claim of being the happiest place on earth. - Very, very well maintained games - Great selection of games - older EM's all the way through brand new releases - Hourly, all day, and monthly game pass options - Super friendly, knowledgeable staff and great ownership - Host of weekly league nights and monthly tournaments
Great pinball place with many machines ranging from the 60s to last week. Something for every pinhead here. Check out the dark room where you'll be glowing with anticipation when you walk in. Leagues (currently Wed nights) and tournaments (every 4th Sat) are ongoing. Nick and crew have really done a great job with the new place!
A very cool place to play a variety of pins in a neat building. The games are split between two levels, and you pay per hour. They have swag downstairs and their games are in good shape. Will definitely visit again when we are in KC.
The creative club here is so fun! The pinball machines have a huge variety.
There is a wide variety of pinball machines. There was even an old arcade game with lots of games to choose from. Will definitely be going back.
Great independent spot to hang out and play some games. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!
Fantastic Pinball Joint. lots of variety, play all day options. Best place in the KC area with well maintained machines.
Great space! Games are well maintained, and the owner is very nice. Definitely the best place I've found to play pinball in KC.
Refreshing my review since SSPS has moved from their old spot. If it was possible to give 6 stars I would. The new location is an extremely welcoming and special space. Great to visit if you're a veteran player or just starting out! If you've been thinking about checking it out, you owe yourself at least one visit!
Great atmosphere. Nice mix of old and new machines. Everything is well maintenance and play great!
Great place, huge variety of pinball machines from all era's .... machines are maintained phenomenally!!! Absolutely a must do!!!
Although I've never actively sought out pinball, our recent team outing to this pinball arcade was undoubtedly enjoyable. The venue offered a diverse selection of machines to cater to various interests, ensuring that everyone, regardless of skill level, had a fantastic time. The staff at the Solid State went out of their way to be helpful and were extremely kind.
A truly fun spot! So many games to choose from. Came here with a group and we ended up playing for two hours. Be sure to do the multiplayer mode on the machines! Makes it so fun.
This place is great. The machines don't take quarters, it's a flat 10 bucks for 2 hours of play. I took my kids and they had a blast There are a couple of arcade machines with a library of retro games, and tons of beautiful pinball machines new and old to play on. They have a cozy lounge area and snacks. The guy behind the counter
Discovered Solid State after eating at the Combine (pizza/restaurant in the same building). This is such a wonderful addition to Kansas City! They have TONS and TONS of pinball machines. The staff on-hand when we came in was so friendly to our kids, taught us new games, and just was wonderful all around. We payed $5 to play for an hour (per person) and it was the best thing for my 5 year old son. He loved it! Great little snack bar selection (chips, candy, soda), clean bathroom, really nicely run place. Hop
We had a fantastic time! You can't beat the pricing! I wish I lived closer so I could go every week! The owner is a very nice down to earth guy, he is super friendly and informative. There is a great variety of games and they are kept up well. I will definitely go back when I get back to that area.
Pinball. Pinball. Pinball. The new location in the KCMO Crossroads district is huge. About 40 meticulously maintained pinball machines, are you kidding me?! From old classic pins to the new tables, it's a time capsule of great pinball. (Get a full listing on the Pinball Map app.) Plenty of Parking. The owners are awesome. This spot and the 403 club are the OGs of KC Pinball. Thanks Solid State!
Great atmosphere. Great games. Awesome variety. A highlight of my visit to KC. Definitely going back. P.S. When you enter on the main level, there's a change machine with a doorbell like button. Press that and someone will come up from basement so you can pay. Or you can try to find the basement yourself.
This is the best place to play pinball in the entire Kansas City area. They have over 40 pinball games that are beautifully maintained. If you do have a problem, they usually try to fix it on the spot. They get new games fairly regularly, too.
Awesome place to play pinball. Great new facility. Friendly people. I highly recommend it for everyone.
If you like to play pinball you have to come check out Solid State. They have a great selection of awesome titles from all eras of pinball history. The machines are in top-notch shape. Nick was so friendly and fun to talk pinball with. I saw him disinfecting games, while chatting with customers, and making everyone feel welcome. My wife and I purchased one of their machines. The price was fair and the machine was in great shape. Nick worked hard to get it ready for us to take home. It was just a great expe
Had a great time venturing into the pinball underworld and overworld (second game room found on main level) of Solid State Pinball Supply. Awesome assortment on newer and old school machines. We had a fun time in thirty person tournament, getting to play a great mix of machines. Very informative bunch! Great people and great knowledge of games and associated repairs. Will definitely return!!
Many, much and several pinball. If you can find it and be there when they are open then you are going to play some pretty sweet pinball. They have old tables and new tables and all sorts of stuff. I really enjoyed it and there are other businesses in the same building. But the pinball is where it's at. The most tables of any single venue in Kansas City that I'm aware of. So that is something and maybe worth putting on a website along with easier to find hours and pricing.
Best spot in the city for pinball and great people too!
Attended a work team outing here, and it was an amazing and unique place. Such a fun way to get people together, they were so flexible and friendly working with us, would definitely recommend for a team event or a fun night out!
This place is great! Needed a few things for our pinball machine at home, they were very helpful in finding everything we needed. My son and I had a ton of fun playing all of the machines in the arcade. We will definitely be back soon.
Wife threw me a surprise Birthday Party at Solid State and what a blast! Outstanding selection of Pinball machines, a few vintage arcade machines , great pizza and draft beer selection. Thanks to the management for a special night. Will definitely return and recommend!
What a great find! My husband and I found this place via pinside. Amazing assortment of pins! Friendly staff, well air conditioned and clean! Wonderful value for price to play! Convenient location next to a restaurant/bar for food and drinks.
Absolutely one of the best places to play pinball in the Midwest! An absolute gem in the heart of Kansas City. Great variety of machines from all eras of pinball. Very knowledgeable staff and wonderful selection of repair parts.
We had a great time! Even better than expected. They have awesome games and vintage machines that feel like stepping back in time. You get to play and feel the history of pinball. Everyone there was extremely nice too. So cool!
Solid State is a low-key throwback to the kind of arcade where we hung out as kids--a little rough around the edges, affordable, zero percent corporate, lots to discover. We held our nine-year-old's birthday party there, and Nick went out of his way to welcome us (organizing a Street Fighter tournament, etc.). Kids and adults alike had a great time. Solid State is an under-the-radar Kansas City gem.
Lots and lots of pinball. Many games I had not seen in years. 5 bucks an hour for all you can play. By the looks of it, they also buy sell and repair as well. Probably the best place on KC if you want to play pinball
My daughter took me for Fathers Day and we had an awesome time. I talked to her the following day and thanked her and she said "my wrist is sore today" . I laughed. It was a great experience.
If you like pinball, you can play all day for $20.00, if you have repairs, they will get you the right parts or give you advice for the proper parts and even looked up what I needed. I could spend way to much money here, and most likely will. The machine highlights for me Rick and Morty, Elvira, The Walking Dead, and Sword of Fury, because everyone needs to hear Lionman!!
Super cool place. A good deal $5 for an hour of unlimited games. They have a good selection of games and you can watch the owner rebuild old pinball machines right in front of you.
A very cool and fun place to hang and enjoy some pinball - both old and new. Very reasonable rates, and food/drinks are available at the Combine restaurant within the same building.
Cool hang out spot with sofa and booths. If you are not playing pinball and just waiting around for your pinball-addicted husband, they won't charge you an entry fee.
I love this place, such a good deal $5 an hour all you can play or $20 for the whole night and tons of cool games new and old. Best of all if your working on your own machine they stock a tin of parts and know their stuff!
Great place! Super friendly, super clean, nice staff.
How cool to have this in KC! Tons of games in great shape as they're for sale. Classics like Monster Bash and Medieval Madness. Price is right, too.
became a great jedi youth on the star wars episode one table and it was a dream come true. 10/10 recommending to a friend right now.
Great gem of a place in KC for experts and beginners. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, they are the real deal!
Flippin awesome. The people that work there are awesome. The games are awesome. The experience is awesome.
Great place. The owner is super cool. Highly recommend. My wife and I go there weekly.
Man this place is a blast from the past!! Absolutely love it! Definitely going back!!!
Great location. Ultra friendly and helpful. Met Nick and Carrie. Going back tomorrow!
Awesome and knowledgeable staff and outstanding selection of games to play from. Highly recommend you stop by if you get a chance!
Nice place, pinball machine's and parts galore! Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great place to get your pinball machine or parts.
Awesome Place, Awesome folks!
This place is an absolute gem!
Great pinball arcade
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
