Skyline Lanes

Skyline Lanes

Reviews Summary

This bowling alley offers a mixed experience with strong opinions. Many praise its affordable prices, nostalgic old-school charm, and friendly staff, especially under new management. Positive reviews highlight great service, family atmosphere, and fun times. However, criticisms focus on rude staff (particularly one employee), outdated equipment, poor maintenance, and inconsistent food quality. Some find the dim lighting and loud music off-putting, while others enjoy the retro vibe. Lanes and balls often need upgrades, causing gameplay issues. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly spot with character, but service and upkeep vary widely.

Customer Reviews

We went on a Friday night (2 adults, 1 teenager). Less expensive than other options in town. It was full but not packed. There was only one lady working and she totally had it under control!! Kudos to her!! We had a great time!

I absolutely LOVED this bowling alley! Lane wise it needs some work, the oil patterns (what helps the ball move essentially) was WAY different then what you would find at the other local bowling alleys, but it gives the place its unique charm and challenges bowlers of any skill level. Aside from that, there was the normal problem with the pin setter (a pin was missing during one reset), it was a tad difficult to get the pins fixed after that (again being used to other bowling alleys with newer equipment) it

I'll will never step foot in the place ever again. The woman that runs the place is pretty rude. I've never gone bowling and was told by staff that a couldn't use certain balls. I was bowling with a shoulder injury and need to use a lighter ball than usual.

Clearly this place is very old and that is ok with me because the staff was kind and courteous. My only gripe is that they're missing the mark on perhaps one of the more important parts of bowling, having rental balls available. All of their bowling balls are clearly traded in previously custom cut balls. The holes are all in strange places, abnormal sizes and weights. When bowling you should be able to find things like medium, large, extra large finger hole for common weight balls (10,11,12,13). Not only

This place is awesome!!!!!! Great for kids, retro and nostalgic. And affordable. We can actually afford to take our kids without going broke. The shoes were new and they keep kids balls separate so they are easy to find.

This place has been a favorite of my family's for years. The whole family enjoys bowling without a lot of noise and reasonable prices. The snack bar has a good variety of food and drinks. They serve several varieties of beer. They are family owned and appreciate your business.

We normally play a game and able to hang out but today October 28 we told hurry up and get done, so others can used our lane that has bumpers we were told to rush my son and his friends so others can play .. also we order food cheese sandwiches which barely had any cheese on it the fries were fresh and hot that's only good thing about tonight bowling experience

Love the people there. They all are so friendly and helpful

Super nice people and great prices! Less than $50 for 4 people playing 2 games

The second we walked in it was very unwelcoming. The lady in red hair was very rude. First, we ordered snacks since hot food was down which was fine but she was very rude. She kept talking over us with an attitude. She rushed us as well since it was ?her time to bowl? and we just picked things we didn't even eat. Then, we were charged for 3 games but only got to play one because she was closing earlier then when they were suppose to close. We also heard her talking about us to her ?group? which was even mor

This was my first time ever going there. From the time my company and I walked in, management were on our case for whatever reason. My girlfriend walked In eating a rolls from Texas Roadhouse and was immediately approached with hostility. After 2 beers a piece, we were asked if we had a driver because ?we were drinking too much?, shortly after I was approached and was told I couldn't bowl with a certain ball due to weight. Which is fine, but still unnecessary to approach us. Lastly, the owner chased me outs

The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and pretty nasty for no reason. Been in customer service a long time. No reason to assume the worst about people or assume that they know the nuances of your business. Just explain politely and don't cut people off when they are talking to you. Very disappointing, at her age she should know better and have some standards of basic civility.

Great times with family and friends And a low cost

It was very affordable and fun. Beers were $4 each, food was cheap. The lanes could use some updating because our balls kept getting stuck and would take about 5 minutes to return or 4 would return all at once. It was nice but I didn't appreciate how our lane was sold out from underneath of us. We were 6 frames in a group gathered behind us. We just thought they were watching, nope as soon as we were done with our 10th frame they took over and kicked us out. I asked what happened and we're told that they're

Things were fairly priced. Lanes were decent. They provide 2 options for children when it comes to bowling, which is nice, so you don't have to bowl with bumpers. Will be back.

Definitely would not recommend coming to this place, especially if you have children. The workers were extremely rude as soon as we entered, making side comments every chance they got. We called before arriving telling them we had a total of 9 people, over the phone they were completely okay with that as soon as we entered they were mad because they ?didn't realize we were having a party? which was not the case at all. The service was horrible & the workers were rude the entire time. Will stick to pinnacle

A Clarksville gem. Great ambiance, service, music, and food. If you haven't been, I highly recommend. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful establishment. Also a plus, the owner is a kind, lovely, hard-working human being. I will not bowl anywhere else!!

Went here for a scouting event, I was one of the 2 winners so that was pretty cool. If you are ordering food here I would highly recommend the chicken sandwich but if for multiple people the pizza is good too. The lanes are good and the staff are terrific, we had younger scouts so the ball wouldn't have enough momentum to make it to the end and the staff would balance on the rails to get it for us. 8.5/10 definitely one of the best bowling alleys in Clarksville, Tennessee .

Very retro. Odd wax patterns. I really loved the vibe and I bowled my best game there. My only complaint is that the balls I would usually use are around a 9 or 10, but I couldn't find anything below a 12 except on the women and children rack. Maybe I'm just weak idk.

I called this place to get information about booking a bday party (I had my Sons bday party here 3 years ago and it was awesome) I spoke with a lady named Becky. Becky informed me that she was the new owner and we chatted briefly about having the party. She informed me of the new hours of operation, she stated that business was down so they opened later in the day (we previously had the party at 2, she said they opened at 4 now) I told Becky I would give her a call back when I got a definite head count and

Affordable place to do some bowling. The technology could do with an upgrade but not necessary for a good game of bowling. The volume and location of speakers could be adjusted. Our lane was next to a speaker and it was extremely loud, and it was on a Sunday with barely anyone there. It didn't need to be that loud. Other than that, this place is great.

I used to love bowling at Skyline Lanes when I was posted at Ft. Campbell 2012-2015. Such a cozy bowling alley with great people! I bowled league here on Thursdays and it was such a wonderful experience. One of my favorite bowling alleys and I'm glad to see that they are still up and running. Greetings from Miami!

I would not come to this place this place sucks We brought our grand kids who is 6 an 3 an got charged as an Adult. Then we paid for 3 games an only bowled 1 an couldn't get our money back for the other 2 games. They are very rude an I see why people are at the pinnacle. An from now on that is where my family is going. I wish the other owners still owned this place. What A kind A wonderful people. Now we know why the place was empty I guess these people are desperate for people money. An after tonight I ca

This place is awful! The bathrooms were dirty, by the time our game was over we received our food. The pizza was burnt but we took it because we waited so long and then the pizza was not cut all the way per slices, my son had to eat his hot dog on his way home because it was so long to get our food. So, I asked for a knife to cut the pizza, and she gave me a plastic knife. I had to remind them of our drinks as well. Horrible don't go, go to Pinnacle! I really did want to even give them a one star!

Very awesome couple who own it! Very pleased with our visit. We will definitely be coming back to this lovely place! I hadn't found a place to enjoy my favorite hobby! There set up is perfect for an excellent night out bowling with serious intention or just having fun with your family and friends! Was definitely a place I will be going to a lot!

Turned around and left as soon as we walked in. We had our 3 kids with us and they were blasting rap music w the bass so loud it was like being inside of the speakers. It was vibrating the empty candy dispensers. Seen another large family turn around and leave right after us. It's ok if that's the vibe your going for but it's def. Not a "barn" atmosphere.

Honestly just disappointed. We go there all the time because it's not as packed as the pinnacle. However because they were having a slow night they decided to close early and not let us purchase a game. We got there at 8 and they close at 10. The doors weren't even locked and there was a couple in their bowling. Poor business decision to me honestly

It is family owned now. A family purchased it to protect the memory. Atmosphere feels like home. Concessions are delicious. I will be using their services again.

This was a super cheap, super friendly place. I have just moved here and went out with a friend here. The staff was all friendly, and for two to bowl, plus a pair of socks was $8 on a Sunday. We took our time bowling, then played a few arcade games (really old school) and ski hockey! As we left we got a friendly goodbye from the league bowlers, would recommend for a cheap fun night!

Its old and a little run down, but in a good way. It just has a genuine classic feel to the place that I just love. The employees are always super nice and are so understanding anf helpful of my clients with mental disabilities. And you just cant beat the prices

Pretty good place, they have a lot of lanes, and I mean it's hard to go wrong with bowling. I actually went for the pool tables, games are $0.50 each, and the tables are first come first served. They provide cues and chalk, and the tables are coin operated, so all I'd recommend you bring bringing is your own quarters. Fairly good cloth on the tables, plays nicely if I'm just looking to practice for a little bit. I only wish they had a separate table for an hourly rate that can be rented out, that would be n

We had time to share with these young ladies who were at risk And how to blast

This place is pretty neat. Very old building which made it pretty neat. Not to mention the pricing is great! Where I live for a family of 5 you easily spend $200 unless you get a Groupon. We spent way less than half of that.

The staff were very rude and unfriendly. I felt so out of place at this bowling alley. I've never been to a bowling alley where I was under such strict rules. I felt like I was at a job where I was being micro managed, and everything that I was doing was wrong. The drinks and food are way over priced, the technology on the isles was from the 90's at least. And to make it all worse me and my wife went with a couple as well and we wanted to play two games together. She said that we couldn't all play on one is

Went for my birthday started the game, waited 30 mins for the balls to come back out for the next turn, after about the 3rd time explaining issue to management, was told they would move us a lane over and they did. Once moved we tried resuming the game only now the projection screen atop the lane was blank and the computer had taken points from one of the player and gave to another as well as traded positions of turns in general. Instead of going to look at their system to understand what we were say they s

Very poor service!!! Employees snatched bowling balls from someone in my party?s hand. Claiming those balls were not allowed to be used but nowhere was it posted that they were off limits. Then another employee proceeded to yell at another person in our party about the ball in which they used based on gender when the ball was being used by the proper gender regardless if they were using it or not. When making the correct they were yelling and had an attitude the whole time. Not welcoming at all and the atmo

Yeah I may be a little old but these guys have been in business forever and I can't tell why, they are really nice people and they have great service, they always pay attention pay attention. If something goes wrong they are waiting to solve the problem. I will definitely be returning to this place every time I need a few good bowling frames. Did I mention most of the time it's 1.50 a game per person? That's unbeaten!!

Staff is very friendly. The lanes are a little older but in good shape. The pins seem to be older and don't have the pin action. But definitely worth it. We had a good time

Great place for family fun or a date night idea. Very Inexpensive. The staff is really friendly. It's kinda old school. Reminds of my childhood. The have bumpers for beginners. Arcade room, billiards, beer, drinks, snacks. They have league nights if you wanna get competitive. Highly recommend visiting this place, especially if your on a low budget.

Been coming here for 4 years now and it's always been fun. The music is usually a little too loud but that's fine. The new management seems to be an overall improvement

Very old school but great service and bowling is always a good time. The staff was very friendly and the lanes were in good condition. Will be going back for sure. Oh one more thing they were great with my kids. They have bumper lanes and ramps but only bad thing is they only had down to a size 1 shoe for kids.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I love the old school feel of this place! The staff is ALWAYS kind & helpful. They play a decent variety of music, and we always have a blast here!

Customer service was great. The atmosphere was good. Old machines n way if doing things but we really enjoyed this place

Retro place to bowl, my husband and I had a great time here. Staff was very friendly and the special burger and cheese fries were delicious! Will definitely be back.

Had a run in with the owner that was not only passive aggressive, but unprofessional and extremely off putting. By his attitude he got what he wanted. Not only did he run me off as was his intention, he also forever lost my business.

Wasn't supposed to close until 10PM but because they were slow, they closed early. Also, they are the same price as Pinnacle except both the inside and outside of Skyline was ghetto and deteriorating where as Pinnacle is updated and inviting. There was also a creepy guy sitting outside in the little wooden like jail off to the side of the building greeting people. 20/10 would not visit again.

Very nice staff. The ball return kept malfunctioning which messed up the scoring. I can imagine leagues would have a big problem with that, I did; it took the compeditiveness away from a friendly game

While yes the building is older & it is most definitely a old school atmosphere, for the price you cannot complain. My wife & I have been many times & never encountered rude or mean staff. Quite a few leagues bowl here & have said nothing bad about the lanes. Considering joining a league at this establishment myself!

Great place to bowl. There are lots of open lanes and the atmosphere is relaxing. They have a nice snack bar. Very friendly staff that goes out of their way to help if you have any problems on the lanes.

The place isn't well kept up. The lanes are severely dented and worn. The balls have severe pitting. I would bowl straight and the ball would veer to one side. The kitchen didn't start cooking my food until I came back and checked 10 minutes later. And lastly it's very hot while bowling. Cheap but I don't find it worth it

I like the feel of being in a family-owned and operated business. Everyone is always so friendly and service here is great. My favorite bowling alley in town, plus, the rates are much better.

I love it, an excellent location to unwind and have clean family fun. That food has me coming back for more. Excellent customer service, close proximity to emergency services

This place is not Ghetto as some have mentioned, obviously they don't know what Ghetto is. The house is a bit run down yes and sadly the parking lot and building are on the dark side. They do need to light up the building and the inside could use more lighting as well. The darkness of the building at night really kept me away for a while. Then, when I went inside, I was worried that the lanes might be run down and damage my bowling balls. But, I did practice and realized everything does work decent the

We recently visit bowling alley that has been around since the 1950s! Although it is not modernized it is truly nostalgic and like taking a step back in time! The people that own and work at the place are very friendly and super helpful! We enjoyed our visit!

Red headed Lady at front desk was rude, someone who clearly dislikes their job should not be running the checkin counter

I wish I could give it no stars. Waterlogged pins from the flood move like concrete-I feel sorry for the workers and patrons. Torn seats from the 50's- small dank seedy atmosphere. Please bulldoze this and make better use of that real estate because this is not a business it must be a front for something else going on upstairs. You have a print button on your 60's technology Atari screens and you don't have a printer!! I am ashamed.

Always smiles and a fun good place to go relax and play a few rounds of pool or bowling. Wouldn't wanna go anywhere else. Faculty are always kind and down to earth friendly people.

Older place. Technology probably 1970?s? But a place to bowl. If you're into pre 90?s tech and looks, this is your place. Not bad had a good time.

I could not find a ball that was the proper weight for me. All the balls had incredibly small holes or the holes were too far apart. I couldn't play without hurting my fingers, left after just one game.

The lanes are in great shape, but the building is otherwise in disrepair and needs touching up. The service was great, and the kids had fun, but we only played a round. The pricing is good, too!!

This place is old, but not rustic. Dilapidated barn with bowling lanes is the closest phrase I can come up with. The shoes are ripped and falling apart. The positive thing is that their fee is all-inclusive. You don't have to pay to rent the messed up footwear. It has never been crowded when I have gone there. There are usually a few families in there, but most lanes are available. They can put up bumpers for you, if you are bowling with children. They are manual kind that are installed at the start. Once

I came here with family and it was so fun!! Brian was very nice to us and helped out a lot!! The other lady was also helpful and sweet! I really recommend this place for a good bowling time!! :)

Nice place to go relax n have some family fun. Friendly people n not bad concession stand either, can even unwind with a beer if so desired!

Always have fun. Nice place. The ramps that children use is old & not smooth making my kids balls roll in the gutter almost every time.

The hubby and i love this place. Good staff, good pizza and good times

Thank you for making my 8 year old granddaughter a wonderful time for her birthday. I bought a new ball at the pro shop, the shop keeper was very knowledgeable.

We love going here. Not too crowded, great prices. With two teenagers it's hard finding stuff to do, this is perfect!

I love this place so much. It's kinda out of date but that's what makes this place so great. Highly recommend going here to just hangout and play a few games with friends.

Place has that old feel. But is a great place to bowl and is nice. Some arcade game and pool. Also get burgers, chips ,drinks, etc. Pretty cheap. We did 2 people 2 games $10

Locally owned bowling alley was amazing!! Had a great time socializing with family and employees. Employees were very helpful to make tonight an enjoyable evening with family.

Loved the place and have only had good memories being there

Took church group kids to bowling. Had a great time, pizza and sprite was served. A real good pleasant atmosphere. Awesome staff.

i understand its an older establishment but omg was it hot in there. i couldnt believe it. besides tht it wasnt to bad. prices are probably the best thing about this place. it was only 10 bucks for two games.

Had a great time. We went during the day and it was a very laid back environment. Plan to visit again soon.

Kinda of an old place. Really wish it would get updated. The prices are reason especially on sundays. Bring your own ball, because most of the good balls are either nowhere to be found or has gum in the holes.

Very nice environment for adults and kids I had a great time with my husband and brother and sister-in-law I would definitely go back

Very old atmosphere and outdated for the price. For just a few cents more you can go to pinnacle and they have much better vibes

Worst experience EVER. First ever for grand kids. Scoring computer did not work. Trying to get help with equipment was a failure. I suggest you go somewhere else to bowl.

This place is the worst bowlingalley I have ever been to. It is falling apart. Customer service is horrendous and the Lane kept getting stuck and turning off on us. There were no bumpers for my kids and barely a ramp for them. I will never be going there again. The bathrooms were horrible and everything is out of date. Only have music if you pay for it.

This is the exact place you want to go have fun with your friends, drink some beer, and throw some strikes! Great prices and staff.

The new owner of Skyline Lanes The Barn is FANTASTIC! Her attitude is very positive and outgoing, we will definitely be going back!!

Great place to bowl, very nostalgic and the staff does a great job. Prefer skyline over pinnacle any day!

Cool place. Everything is older/ vintage. Real comfort food. The people who run it are nice and down to earth.

The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The employees are pleasant and helpful.

Great lanes, friendly and knowable staff! Glad to find a "real" bowling alley amongst these other corporate rip-off organizations! Thanks for a great, affordable, afternoon with my granddaughter!

Been coming to this Alley ever since I was a little kid. Great friendly environment, great staff, great leagues. Love it here!

The people are very pleasant. Have fun there, gonna start league there. Great place to go.

I've been bowling here many times, and there is no place like it! I love the atmosphere and the staff does everything they can to make your experience great!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
