Good facility. Locker room was clean. It's kinda small - having only one ice rink and the bleacher seats area is limited. It has arcade area for kids to play.
This place is an absolute dump. I truly cannot fathom how disgusting the bathrooms in the locker room are. The showers run exclusively cold water if you are brave enough to endure the mold. I have been in some run down rinks but this takes the cake. It is not expensive, complicated, or difficult to pressure wash and bleach bathrooms and locker rooms. If you plan on playing hockey here do not plan on showering after.
It was ok for a first timer without any lesson. Update:- we went again for classes and to my surprise really good with kids takes time to explain the lesson, Very encouraging.
So we didn't ice skate here. We heard that there was this kinda famous chef who rented out the kitchen on weekends?! So we show up and find this tiny food section near the arcade games. They had a regular menu and then a menu all in Spanish. The guys who were there really nice and helped us pick what we wanted. Apparently these are gourmet Venezuelan options & the burgers were absolutely amazing!! Like really how can burgers taste this good. There was a ton of meat (which to be honest I don't normally eat)
We have been coming here for almost two months. My son is taking the Learn to Skate classes and has learned so much already. Can't wait for the next round!
The place could use a remodel. It's kinda dark (very dim ceiling lights) in the cafe/arcade/party area. The kids had fun playing Lazer Tag and ice skating for a while. This place stays busy truck loads of ppl in & out.
Nice Family or Date spot... the Game Room is really nice. Me and my wife had a Awesome time watch little league Hockey teams play...
Great place for laser tag, ice skating, and indoor arcade type games. We completed 2 birthday parties there. 1 party for a boy and 1 for a girl. The place hosts hockey games, and the gaming area is busy only during half time or when one game finishes. Otherwise, it's not terribly crowded. They have a bar and street style food in the back. They served beer, and their cheeseburger was amazing.
What a wonderful place laser tag was awesome and ice rink was amazing great times great place I suggest if you want to do some family fun probably one of the best places I've ever been
Nice facility but awful skates! The skates were extremely worn, tattered string laces, ill-fitted, and smelled horrible! The staff was friendly, but was lacking in any type of hygiene training were germs are easily spread through used footwear with wet worn strings!
Great skating rink and staf were especially helpful. The ice cut well and was of perfect hardness. I had my own skates, but people I was with had to rent them and they were adequate for beginners.
A great place and the kids had an amazing time! Will definitely be going back very soon.
Rude rude rude rude and rude. Jennifer Simmons is the "owner" of the dive cafe inside with the overpriced fried food and terrible awful customer sevice. When someone says to their ONLY customers that it's too much work to refill the drinks you know there's a real issue (to name one thing). I understand it's separately owned cafe but it's in the same building and if I'm going out to spend over $100 on food and entertainment for my kids and I, I will definitely NOT go some place that I am treated terribly for
Skating lessons has commenced! The instructor was good and had an assistant for the "1st timers". What I didn't enjoy was the fact that they had 5 classes going on at the same time. Now you may think "its a big rink", but with 2 instructors in each class, about 8-10 kids per class... that adds up. Lessons were for 30 minutes. Then the students had 30 minutes of free skate. That was difficult as u had a variety of age ranges and skill levels, not to mention, they shortened the rink to allow the adults half t
Overall, fun place to get some skating in. Haven't been here in a while, so was a nice throwback. Didn't try the cafe, but looked pretty promising...definitely revamped from what it was some years ago. Ice was a solid B- this time...nice and hard, a little chippy, but a bit lumpy and fishbowled...it could really use some good edging and cross cutting maintenance to iron out the unevenness. What kind of kills my rating this time really is the overall cleanliness, especially the restroom leaves much to be
There are 2 full sized rinks in the area. This is THEE one to go to. Good ice, helpful workers, good food (when it's open), the lighting is good, has a small arcade, and laser tags. Make the right choice when it comes to rinks.
Updated to 5 stats because they've been making an effort to publish updated open session times on their social media. Thanks yall! -- Kind of hard to rate since there's a lot going on here. I'll break it down by activity: Ice skating is great. My daughter loves to come here and skate. For some reason it's really hard to figure out when they're open for public skating. Google only shows the building hours. Today, the website said they were open 12-2 but their phone recording said 1-5, and when I called they
Skate ring was fun and well maintained. Unfortunately no aids available for small children. Arcade seemed nice but most of the games were out of order. Also some were labeled ?winner every time? and did not allow for multiple attempts.
Avoid if you have kids. Took my 6-year old in for free skate at 2pm on a Saturday. Was told that kids had ?abused their privilege? to have buckets and that they took them away. Surrounded by a bunch of older kids shouting expletives on the ice. This is not the place to come. $35 down the drain.
Kids love it, nice little arcade with all tickets & credits going onto a card, which can be spent at a toy-vending machine (no staff to bargain/haggle with...). Laser Tag is treated like an elite sport, so don't just show up and expect to play; check "game times" and prepare ahead of time (and even still the roster might be filled up already) My two boys were so disappointed when we showed up and there wasn't another laser tag game for 2 hours...
Really expensive. The ice quality is pretty good, but there is a gap between the boards and the ice. That can be a hazard. Also not a fan of lessons going on during public skate. If it was a Basic 1- Basic 3 lesson, fine, but if I am not supposed to skate backwards or spin or jump, neither should a kid in a lesson.
Always friendly staff at the front counter. Went to watch a hockey game, temp is actually not bad inside the rink. The area for spectators is small, nice beer choices with food options, good time and over all good experience.
Excellent rink! We had a family of 8 on the ice and it was well maintained and not highly busy during our 12-2 slot. The skates were in good condition and the customer service was good. We will be back again.
Had my son's 9th birthday party there yesterday playing laser tag. We arrived early and were greeted by our host. He seemed eager to help us, however, he kept disappearing leaving long spells without being seen. The party area was very dark leaving it very difficult to take pictures. Our group went in to play their laser tag missions and I eagerly awaited for them to return to the party area. Sadly my son came out in tears. For over half of the time his laser gun did not work! They attempted to fix it howev
Kind of pricey - $14 per person, but because they have an arcade, you can skate, then come out to play games to warm up, then go back in for more skating!
Had a good time. The attendants on the ice are very quick to help when someone falls. The bar looks like it's pretty nice though we didn't try it this time. Price is great for skating and rental. Overall I would recommend it for sure.
I had fun! However, the music. They only played slow jams and pop music. Like even the pop stations play some rap with some pop along with classics. I was expecting differently especially for a Saturday night. Everything else is fun though! Loved the food and the game room.
Paid for 8 kids to do laser tag - was told by woman on phone it would be play for 40-45mins however the boys got 3 games for 6 mins each. Barely 20m. Little bait and switch on the time promise. One star added bc laser tag is fun as heck
Been to this place many times and always take a bunch of my kids friends with me. Last experience left a bad taste in my mouth. In past they've always accepted any coupons via mobile phone. I prefer to not print more than necessary and always thought them accepting coupons from a phone app was a good step for the environment. All large coupon businesses accept mobile apps (i.e. Groupon, Living Social, etc...) I tried to use the coupon via phone again and was told they are no longer doing that and they requ
SNP is awesome. My kids take figure skating and hockey lessons and they love it! Staff is very friendly and accommodating and answer any and all questions. The bathrooms do need an update and are pretty gross.
I wanted to go skating today and waited in line 15 min trying to give them my business. The line didn't move. Not sure what the problem was with the guy at the front. There was obvious issues and nobody behind the counter seemed to care about the rest of the patrons in line. There were 2 registers and there wasn't any effort made. Poor service
Overpriced in my opinion, and sort of run down. The idea of having lazer tag, arcade and ice rink in the same place is great- and probably why they stay in business. So I'm giving it 3 stars for entertainment. My son loves the lazer tag and wants his birthday there but I might try to find another place. Last time we were there, I went to ask for help with something (broken arcade machine) and the teenagers at the counter chatting acted annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation. Pretty typical of th
Great rink great time. Only wish we won ??. Thanks skate nation. We had a great time and my son enjoyed the gaming room. So made the ride worth it for him. Hope to come back and win that PlayStation! And the next hockey game.
Very good ice sheet, encouraging and friendly staff. I appreciate that it's not too noisy during the Friday daytime public session.
Had a very good time, really enjoyed myself
There is Hockey in Richmond, Va. And its growing. Heres one of the few places to go. They also have an big arcade, laser tag, rentals if you need gear for the visit. Locker rooms or big bathrooms. And if waiting for somebody, they also have a small, connected restaurant and/or bar with lots of TVs playing sports. Highly recommend and was/is great experience for my son during the pandemic. Close to everything in the westend (shopping, restaurants, movies, mall, etc) Highly recommended for kids, they do
Love the skate instructors! My son has been taking lessons here since November and each teacher and helpers have been great. He has learned a lot by there individual attention to each student. I will mention that the public skating is also a decent deal for people who do not take lessons. If you rent skates it's only $12 for 2-4 hours of skating (depending on the time you go). Definitely recommend if you are wanting to learn how to skate.
My daughter had a great time ice skating here! The building was a little dated and the bathrooms weren't the cleanest but the staff was friendly! We will return for sure.
Took my teen girls there and we had a great time. The building is a bit run down, and the front door is basically in an alley so it is kind of hard to find. Didnt do the laser tag, only skated and played a few games. The place isnt fabulous but not over-priced and we had a really good time. Will be going back again.
Great place for kids and adults alike! Good food, good service great prices on drinks and fun!! If you're gonna come spectate at the ice arena being something to sit on, metal bleachers!! All around cool little place.
I am having a great time here with adult Learn to Skate! The facility is very accessible and friendly, and the staff was very helpful when I had questions about signing up. Always wanted to learn how to ice skate, and there are a lot more people in adult classes than I imagined. It's never too late!
Gone here a couple of time with my dad. He plays hockey there with one of the teams and the little game area is pretty neat. They have laser tag and food there, too. It's rarely ever super crowded unless there is an event of some kind.
Really disappointed by the poor customer service. Paid $26 for 2 girls to skate without realizing that public skate time ended 1 hour later. They were SO disappointed. Cashier told me she only tells people buying tickets when there's 30 minutes left. She seemed annoyed that I even questioned this. We won't be back.
Why does it say you're only open 2 hours at a time at most?
It is a really nice place and I enjoy it there, but the customer service is horrible. I called there one day to ask a couple questions, and they had an attitude because they couldn't comprehend the questions I was asking. The couple people that I had to deal with had nasty tones and were pretty rude. Other than that, it's a pretty nice rink and lots to do.
Nice place overall but Lasertag game was supposed to start at 815 and didnt start until around 850. Representatives should have advised there was a delay prior to us waiting 45 minutes when we had no plans to play video games.
This location is pretty much one of two places you can go to ice skate in the Richmond area. The public skate times is pretty much for only two hours when available. Their website isn't the easiest to navigate either and they also do not clean the ice half way through public skating so the ice condition gets pretty horrible by the second hour. Be sure to check your skates before you try them on because a few of their skates have bent blades which will make skating even harder to learn if it is your first ti
Richmond Skating is a nice place to spend your Sunday afternoon with friends or solo. The ice skating ring is sizable and can fit a great number of patrons. Monitors are available to help you back up on your feet, thou they don't seem to put any priority on teaching proper technique to avoid falling in the first place. This location offers a fast food sit-in 'cantina' and a limited number of arcade machines. They have hockey teams practice here constantly so check their schedule before coming out. The one c
Went here during public skating with my family friendly staff at the counter Attentive rink guards to check on people if they trip or fall Could get a little crowded at times Middle part of the rink was used by figure skaters for practice. Rental shoes are uncomfortable best if you bring your own.
Good multi use venue, ice surface a little roughened up near Zamboni gates, but love it's location. Take off one star only because the cafe/bar never seems to be open for business!!!
Ice skating was fun but laser tag definitely took the cake. I love the different games you can choose from to play!
Kids had a blast! We did open skate for 2 hours then arcade for another hour. We win a ton of great and big prizes.
Normally love this place however when I went to laser tag this particular time, my gun was not completely on the entire time, it shot singular shots every once and a while when I was holding both buttons and the trigger, I went to get help and they reset my vest, after it still did not work and I could not find anyone in the arena for the rest of the matches.
Amazing facility, I always have an amazing time with my friends here. The staff is always super nice, and helps you out with whatever size skates you need.
Great skating rink. My kids loved it, it wasn't too crowded and the employees were nice.
Solid local rink. Management keeps the hockey leagues running smoothly. Has many attractions outside of hockey that drives customers to the rink, lazer tag and the arcade. Good for children's parties.
Needs a good cleaning and renovation. Doesn't appear anything has been replaced since opening many years ago. SkateNation at Short Pump is cleaner and has nice bleachers for watching.
No stick time for hockey players. Way too much emphasis on figure skaters, even though they're still trash with all their available ice time. This is the reason why kids in Richmond can't compete skill wise at hockey literally anywhere else. I think kids in Arizona aka the desert where ice literally doesn't exist are better than us. A man is just trying to get better but I can't. #getridofthisfigureskatingtrash
Showed up for laser tag after buying a groupon. Even though there's plenty of staff they said they can't do any laser tag until 4. But next week they can do it earlier because the print out says so. I have some disappointed kids.
The people were great, but the ice was terrible. We were there for 2 hours and the Zamboni want used once. It was like skating on cobblestone. Run it once an hour like most other places.
My daughter is irreputably diswraught by your poor customer service and innapropriate personel. Susie has special needs and all she wanted was to be on the ice for her birthday party. Instead of being respectfully asked to leave, a staff member pushed her off the ice with the quote, "Move retard." Please don't support this company, do not walk in its doors, do not even look in the eyes of the staff. I will never return, i hope you won't either.
Online hours say they're open until 9:30 pm on Saturday. Arrived around 3:45 PM and found out skating closes at 4. Thanks SkateNation for wasting an hour of my time and tricking me into driving through Short Pump traffic.
Great place for Lazer tag and the kids will love the arcade games too. Haven't tried the ice skating but it looked like a great time and would be a lot of fun.
So the laser tag is pretty fun. Nice course and well working guns. It's just the games are mostly out of order or just generally dysfunctional.
The staff & laser tag made a great night at Hanukkah on Ice with Chabad. Open for the whole community to enjoy, it was a safe night for young & old.
I love this place for my first time with my friend was awesome but the staff who was in charge with the rental skate seem just a little bit rude but overall I would love to come back and have fun!!!????
Walked in today for the first time to see about public skate and no one was the front desk. Once I found someone I asked and the man was rude and dismissive. Before I was done he walked away and got on the phone. According to one of the younger associates he is a manager but was not the manager on duty.
Nice local rink, good for learning, hockey, or synchronized skating. Benches are metal and COLD (bring a cushion). Seating on one side only. Tucked away so you have to know where it is. Parking can be a pain.
Great place for a 10-year old's birthday party. Not too crowded, and the folks at the counter are friendly and helpful.
Really educated people. It was my first time ice skating and one of the staff helped me tie my ice skates. It was really fun and I wish to go there every once in 2 weeks!
2 words...lazer...tag...what a workout...but FUN!!! Lets not forget the ice skating is AMAZING!!! You can rent skates or bring your own!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!! I have loved this place since I was a kid!!??
My. Brother plays here and the staff are great. Johnathan is a exceptional employee
Ice skating, laser tag, food and games. Great family fun
Standard ice skating ring! The only issue was near the men's locker room which is right next to the area people put their skates on... the smell coming from there was (to put it mildly) terrible!
Good times. Good people. Good fun. Good games. The home team split - won the first game, but lost the second. Still, it was another good experience.
This skate center does not understand customer service at all. They charge $5 a person to come watch a skating competition and don't tell anyone that they'll only take cash or check. They tell me to go to an atm in their building and the atm doesn't even work. Get with the times and get a Square...no one does only cash anymore
Took my daughter there for her friend's birthday outing and we all had a really good time.
Fun for the grandchildren. I also at 67 still enjoy when the crowd thins out. Clean environment and friendly staff.
Had a BLAST! only lasted an hour ?? bring cash for the lockers ($1.60) staff couldn't give me cash & the ATM was non-functional.
Had my son's laser tag birthday party there. All the kids had a lot of fun.
The arcade is way over price but it was fun with my daughter and I didn't go there for the arcade the ice skating was great.
Is this place even open for business? I've gone up there two months ago and there was a sign saying they were temporarily closed for maintenance. They leave no public messages and they don't answer any calls. Please update your phone messages if you are closed.
This place brought back memories and I had so much fun, my daughter is obsessed with this place now and the games are a bonus for her as well. Lol
Laser tag was fun. Good Frozen drinks at the bar.
It was an amazing Experience I loved it ! and me and my mom are thinking to sigh me up for skating lessons and I'm really excited ??
Love the place but would love to see the ice properly prepped near the zamboni bay doors. That has been a problem for about 15 years now.
People were very friendly. Nothing too crazy, just get your skates and go! Would recommend this place
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, rhythm games in arcades are a vibrant hit in 2025! Titles like Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania deliver high-energy fun, blending music, movement, and precision. Modern machines boast vivid displays, booming sound systems, and diverse song libraries, from J-pop to EDM. They challenge reflexes and rhythm, with competitive leaderboards and tournaments fostering a lively community. Arcade dance floors are regularly packed, proving rhythm games’ immersive, physical thrill keeps them a standout in today’s gaming scene.
Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
