I met the woman who would become my wife here a looong time ago! Some things have changed, but this establishment still remains a terrific place to meet up with friends, meet new ones and enjoy good music while skating.
Talk about bringing back memories of my childhood! My niece had her 10th birthday party here today and Skate City hasn't changed since I was 10! We use to skate all day on Sunday's. Parents would drop us off pay for multiple sessions and we'd just skate and eat and play games and all these years later it's wonderful to see kids still doing this. Now my knees and back aren't what they use to be but it was great to see the kids happy and skating! The party area was nice and we had it to ourselves for our tim
It's a wonderful atmosphere! Very clean, the Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the the food is typical for a place like this, nothing to complain about. The music feels a little dated at times, but it's not a huge deal.
Sad that this is one of the only skate places left around here. Its got good food and options of things to do for all ages. Still a great environment and really fun!
The old white man at the front thinks he's so tough by policing women's bodies. It's pathetic. The policy says that a woman's "front, back, and sides" must be covered. What does that even mean? A burqa? We were harassed for wearing high waisted pants and a tank top. If this too provocative for you, then YOU need to go see a psychologist because YOU are the problem. That guy is gross. Avoid at all costs. Your children are NOT SAFE.
My kids have recently learned to how to roller skate so they were so excited to go. Kids did have fun, but there was a friend of the worker that was skating backwards ALL night going very fast and weaving in and out of others. This made my kids so nervous as he would come so close to them. The one time, he came so close to my son that he actually lost his balance and fell and the worker saw it all happen and didn't even go check on my son. It is too bad this behavior is allowed because for beginner skaters,
At the end of the school year May 23, 2024 we went to skate city and my friends went also for the field trip and it was awesome and I want to go there but I can't, until the school takes me or my parents. I really enjoyed it though!
It's the only roller rink left in the Omaha metro area and they play decent music, so for that they get 4 stars. Otherwise, they don't do much upkeep on the rentals or floor. But again, at least it exists and appears to be thriving. Plenty of games for kids to play as well. They offer adult night on Tuesday that makes it more fun!
Skate City is biased against certain people for their dress code they will let other people dress a certain way but will bully someone for asking about the dress code and threaten to kick them out on ADULT NIGHT
MUCH FUN, but I would personally prefer better old school music, and also just saying? NEBRASKA NEEDS MORE ROLLER SKATING PLACES!!!! But I would rate this place a 9/10 ?????????
Old school roller skate rink, awesome place to take a group of friends and have fun ??. Ancient but well maintained for its age. Arcade games and carnival food too.
I love coming here, I attended skate city daycamp, and met a lot of new friends. The staff are very kind and friendly, and the food is pretty ok. I totally will be coming back to this place doon
The floor size is decent and the seating. The place was clean so that's good. I didn't like the fact that you can't wear hoodie. It's to cold outside. The sound system was also lackluster.
I've read reviews about the manager Dave being misogynistic and racist. Well you can add to the list that he's an ableist too. He literally asked what disability my sister has, which is in clear violation of the ADA. When we asked him to Google the ADA policies, he told us he "doesn't believe in Google" but then disappeared for 10 minutes (presumably to Google the ADA policies) before allowing us in with a service dog. What's upsetting is that roller skating became popular decades ago due to the black liber
My kids had a blast the manager or owner could have been a little nicer, but I'm going to say maybe it was a rough day. We'll be going back I do wish there was a rink more mid omaha or elkhorn area
December 27th was our daughter?s 8th birthday. She was soooo excited to spend the day skating and participating in the organized games on the skating floor. When it became time to play Limbo, our daughter was one of the last three players in the final round of the competition. Instead of taking the additional one to two minutes or less to finish the round, the young man running the activity stopped the game and stated there was not enough time to finish it. Our daughter and the two other girls in the compet
We went to Skate City and had an amazing time! It was my son's first time trying to skate. We rented one of their skate helpers and it made all the difference! My son built confidence and was learning how to skate!! Before we left he was already asking about when we could come again!!! Highly recommend this for a fun family activity!!!
We've come here many times now for school nights and it's always so much fun!
Very nostalgic and we had fun. However, we spent a lot of $ on multiple ultimate party packages and only received x1 of the advertised free skating passes for our kiddo. Combine that with spending a significant portion of the 2hr time in the admission line and the line for skates, I'm not sure that the juice is worth the squeeze.
Love coming here for adult mornings. Very peaceful. Don't care to visit during the evening hours
We had a great time, lost a star as the check in time is 2pm and we lost time waiting in line. Could find a way to speed it up so we can get the 2 hours we paid for
Good place for a family, kids love it. To me it feels dated
Adult skate nights are super fun, however, BEWARE. The skating rink is not completely flat, has warped floors, and you may end up tearing a meniscus like myself because of the old, beat up rink. I've been skating for over 10 years and this was my first major injury that required surgery and months of physical therapy all because the floor is warped & they don't want to fix it. My friends and I enjoyed skating here, however, we won't be back, so no one else gets injured.
Did my kids 9 year birthday party here best idea for a 9 year old they provided the pizza, ice cream, and 2 pitches full of your favorite beverage hours of skating and priceless fun. Great times with the family
The Family and I had a good time at Skate City this evening. I would suggest moving the Change Machine from right beside the ATM machine. I had to wait for the Lady at the ATM to finish so I would not have been all in her account. Go try them out.
Great place brings back the good times people should definitely check this place out!!
Love this place just because my children enjoy coming at least once a week , it has become our family night out of the week ,but the policy of no bags is ridiculous when it comes about a ?baby diaper bag? with diapers and formula and wipes and baby essentials as a baby needs. This rule should change ASAP!
We signed up for skate classes. The instructor and the crew were very patient. They have everything on the spot for a fun filled time - skates, food, a play area. It were nice if the play area was open during the classes so that the younger siblings could play there. We look forward to coming back!
I've been skating here since I was a kid, now it's my turn to bring my kids. Very fun, family friendly environment. They have "walkers" on wheels for beginners. New carpet looks great!
I just moved to omaha and was looking for a place to roller skate but with all the negative reviews on how women should dress is definitely a problem!!!
place used to be so good, now it's over crowded, over priced and their skates are old. No bags allowed, there is little kids everywhere, the music sucks and the floor needs to be re done so bad. 2019 was its prime, it used to only be 5-7$ it wasn't super crowded the music was good and the people were nice. Also the open skate hours are so bad. Place used to be open until 11pm
So much fun! I go here every week for adult skate and have a great time tricking myself into exercising ?? They have a lot of opportunities for everyone to skate and have fun. I love their holiday events too!
Kids has a good time. Hard to understand what DJ says when he is explaining what is happening.
Not worth the money I think they charge way to much with skate rental just to have them give you instructions on how it should be set up they have their own skating games and turns had fun because I went with my daughters but definitely not worth it same people from the place skate way to fast past all the people and almost made us fall a few tme cause of it spent $60 dollars for nothing ....smh
So I've been going here since I was a kid. So I started taking my kids there, it's a place my daughter and I go to every Wednesday to spend time together. The only thing I would change there would be the small toilets ?? and it would be nice to possibly get a new floor put in! Other than that, everyone that works there are such great people! We have such a great time and are continuing to make memories!
Wanted to go skating on a Friday night but had work until 8 but still wanted to come skate for at least 30 minutes because I haven't been in a long time. I get there at 8:30 and the manager ignores me completely and just stares at me until he finally tells me to read the sign that says they won't let anyone in after 8 in a 7-9 session. Drove 30 minutes for nothing and he was really rude about it.
Really fun place! We had a blast with the kids here. It's the only skating rink left in Omaha that I know of. I'd recommend showing up early to buy your tickets and get fitted for skates. The line was long, so it was 15 minutes before we got in and another 15 minutes before we got fitted for skates. In a 2 hour skate window, we wasted 30 minutes easily just waiting in lines.
Great place to take my son skating! We both have a blast!
Fair pricing. Definitely has the vibe of childhood skating rink but it's definitely run down. I would recommend it for some family fun though.
Been going here for years now it's always a good time
Always a fun place for our school community events. It gets the kids out of the house and keeps them active. Not only do the kids have a great time, but the parents get to mingle and skate if they would like as well. The price is super reasonable, too.
We went to the 5-8 session and once done realized our car battery had died! The worker there heard us talking about it and immediately went out to find someone with jumper cables and a car to jump start us! Had it taken care of in 5 minutes! For this alone I give this company 5 stars! He was so kind and helpful and made a really stressful moment so easy! Plus they played the best songs! Reminded me of roller skating at my local rink in the early 2000?s :). We will definitely be going back!
Beware! This place is not safe for women or little girls. Despite receiving MULTIPLE one-star reviews on Google for disrespecting women and their bodies, the manager of this place continues to justify his disturbing actions. He is unsafe. I worry about the safety of little girls and what he may do to them when parents aren't looking. Keep your girls away!
I came here with my two teenage daughters and the older man at the front desk was leering in a way that I found very uncomfortable, despite them following the dress code. I was perusing the comments and saw a lot of similar incidents in the name of "decency". I will not be coming back.
Came to celebrate my daughters birthday and they wouldn't let us have our 12 cupcakes here because we had not paid for a party table, i spent the same amount and instead of being helpful and upgrading us. These things are stressful enough on parents and then making sure everyone gets to where they need. I am not a great coordinator, by any means nor do i know how to coordinate parties. Not everyone grew up having these things. I am upset in how we were treated and were not aware we could not bring in our ow
My kids are in a learn to skate and learn to play hockey classes. The owner to the instructors/coaches are awesome. They are patient and you can see they like working with the kids. I couldn't be happier that my kids skate here.
Thursday was pretty fun. I came for the adult nights and love skating without worrying about kids. But Tuesday sucked bad...the dj didnt really know what good 70s 80s 90s music was, he looked to be 18. Maybe 8 out of the 20 something people were wearing their own headphones lol.
Stopped by while in town, fairly nice small community rink. Floor is damaged in several places, made cross overs a bit sketchy especially in the back by the "colorful" wall. DJ was great accommodating my request for a backwards song (or two).
The rink management really needs to watch and monitor the skaters as well as they police their dress code. We went on a Sunday and there were adults and kids skating fast and reckless around little kids and inexperienced skaters. One lady wearing her own headphones sliced in between my 9 year old and her friend and clipped my daughter. My daughter crashed and split her lip really bad. A few weeks before something similar happened and my daughter fell and hurt her knee. I know that skating is inherently dang
TRASH establishment that absolutely wasted its potential to be a community hub. Owners have zero respect for the people who pay to be there, many of whom have been coming there for years. Can't wait for the day another rink runs this place out of business! The owner has a history of posting horrendously racist stuff on his Facebook, including a photo comparing George Floyd to a gorilla. They also have a ridiculous dress code policy on adult nights. A girl was showing less than an inch of her abdomen so th
Tired of having to pay to sit off to the side when my partner skates.. weekly we come out and half the time i pay to sit, half the time I don't. At least keep it consistent.
Went with my cousins and before we even got into the building the Manager/employee (Dave) stopped us and told me my shirt was against the dress code and I needed to put a jacket on. It showed about 1/2 an inch of skin. When we got in and put our skates on there were two more girls wearing shirts that were shorter than mine. So I tried to ask Dave why he said something to me but not the other girls and before I could even finish my question he said "maybe you should have a longer shirt on worry about yoursel
I wish i could give zero stars. Someone got on the mic to say that all of the girls were to stop dressing like "hoochie mommas" if they don't want to get kicked out and they need to wear shorts that go to their finger tips and no crop tops. This was on adult night....
Don't go to this place. I'm really over the way the owners of this place are treating people. The last half of the year they have been so rude and mean especially to women. The dress code policy is sexist and misogynistic . . It's a place to workout, let women wear tank tops! It's really hard when it's the only rink in the city and they are pushing it. The owners feel the right to talk down and so rudely to adult women. Gals came up to me to tell me that Dave and his wife told them to ?wear a shirt that fit
This place is a piece of history. My oldest son goes on the weekends and my youngest has attended the summer "daycare" program. They both love the place. I feel comfortable as a parent trusting the staff to make sure my kids are well taken care of. The staff is always more than nice and really interact with the children. In today's world, it's tough to find somewhere safe for our children to go. I would absolutely recommend you check it out!
This establishment is harassing and targeting women if they are showing any minuscule amount of skin. Too much shoulder or a sliver of stomach and they are telling you to cover it up? Sorry are we in middle school again, I thought this was a place where people go to dance, be themselves and have fun; not to be harassed by a man telling me what i can and cannot wear? On ?adult? night telling specifically only woman to cover up? Nudity and a sliver of my back/mid drift showing are very different things. I wou
My granddaughter goes there and the people who work there is spreading rumors about little kids. I believe the workers who are doing it should stop doing it. Or just quit working there.
Anyone that bullies a minor child needs to fired. There is a worker there that has been bullying my daugther for no reason. This is not professional at all !!!!! This establishment is a joke !!!!
Management awesome they are always nice and friendly
Most the staff hate their job and it shows, every other month I'd remember the terrible night I spent at this place. Old guy at front desk was the worst
Very friendly. Great customer service. Would recommend it. My kiddos had so much fun. We will go again. These guys are really good with the kids
I went here as a kid and it hasn't changed. Still love it and taking my kids.
I absolutely love this place. We've gone to Wednesday?s Tiny Tot skate 6 times now and, not only is it a great value, but the guys running it are amazing with kids. They remembered my son?s name the very next visit and he looks forward to seeing them every week because they are so interactive and encouraging on the skate floor. I also ordered skates here and they sized my son and handled it all. The facility is really clean too.
Went on a Saturday for a Birthday Party. It was busy. The staff was plentiful but not really the best customer service. All young. The music was ok, the games were all working the prizes were ok. I spent 20 in tokens to get a bouncy ball, a mini dinosaur, an eraser, and a ring. Pizza was ok, kids loved the Icees.
Always do my niece's party here every year. It's always a great time and the employees are awesome.
Great place to take the kids and fun for adults too!
There's not many roller skating rinks open around town anymore. Skate City is great & my daughter & I go roller skating at least twice a month. Great prices, food, & music. The rink could be refurbished as there are many dips toward the back of the rink but other then that, it's a great place to skate. They do have a police officer present on Saturday nights for security. You also cannot bring in any bags on Saturday nights. The concession stand is cash only.
I was discriminated against because I am a brown man with an accent. I wanted to enjoy my day at Skate City, but was treated poorly by the man at the front desk. I don't want to go back.
Lots of fun here. Had a blast. Took my family and they had a blast also. Music was AWESOME and they even stop to clean the floor to eliminate unnecessary falls due to debris on the skating rink. At the end of the night they even offered half-price hotdogs. Really enjoyed my visit. They also offer an 18 and up night twice a month
Took my kids here and I can't believe the prices!! First off we didn't realize family skate was from 5 to 8. Second how is it $8 with just admission and $15 if you need skates?? My kids got there @ 6:30 and still had to pay full admission. This place hasn't had an upgrade in decades!!! How do you charge that much?? Then my kids said the workers are rude. Apparently when they got to the window to pay they were shocked it was $30 for both of them. The comment the staff made was, "why are these kids looking at
Their times were confusing. When your party is over you can't stay to free skate. The pizza was terrible and the pretzel had way too much salt.
Took my son for a school event. The staff who was on the rink was more than willing to assist my son when he fell. It was the first time for my son and he fell alot. I applaud the young man who helped my son by getting him a new skate buddy (support rack) and assured him that it wouldn't break again. The two young men at the food court area were more occupied with their phones than the customers. They are the reason for the 4 stars. The other reason is what happened to the wood floors? There is no traction
My son had a lot of fun here in a Friday night. Having a Security guard made me feel more comfortable with leaving him to be with his friends. Someone to assist in the parking lot at closing time was awesome as well!
Zero supervision. Staff isn't required to follow the rules and zoom around the rink knocking down littler kids for fun. Left with 85% of the kids I brought, hurt from being knocked down from teen skaters doing whatever they wish. Thank you though, you've inspired me to create some competition.
Fun family time with skating lessons for all ages that are very affordable.
I took my out-of-town extended family (4 adults and 7 kids) there yesterday afternoon (a Friday). All the staff from the ticket counter to the skate rental counter to the snack bar were incredibly friendly and courteous. I worked at a skating rink when I was a teenager so I know how rough people in general can be on the skates and the establishment. The rink was very well maintained and a safe environment for families to have some good clean fun! And the price was right! The kids wanted to stay longer
this was the worst experience of my life. came from out of town looking for something todo customer service was terrible. really sad everyone was extremely rude for no reason. they told us we couldn't come in because of a dress code, cool went and changed and was still being terribly rude and wouldn't let us in. to the owner BE BETTER AND GET BETTER EMPLOYEES
Kids took me for mother's day
This place was okay. Probably will not be back. Not impressed that the little play area costed extra to play on. We didn't realize it cost extra for our children to play in the play area and went ahead and let our kids play on it. While my kids were playing on it, one of the employees told my kids in a rude manner they need to get out now unless they had $3.00 to pay. This could have been something she could have told us instead of my children. When we mentioned another child that was in there that di
Love this place, My kids love love love it, great music everyone is very friendly and great family place:) Highly recommend
Very welcoming, went on a Sunday expecting a very busy place although there wasn't many people and they had games on the skating rink
Fairly clean, family oriented, could use some policing when multiple kids decide to skate against the grain when during peak hours. Could be dangerous.
We took our 6 year old here and had a great time. The staff was great and I was happy with the variety of music they played. When I talked to the staff I found out about women's roller hockey and decided to join. It's a blast. I highly recommend!
Awesome ring with lot of fun things to do. Arcade, food and skates- right place for kids to learn There are open to public skating on Wednesdays at 6-8 pm at 4$ per person and 2$ skate rental. For beginners there is skate mate available for 4$ which will be useful for first two sessions and then kids will learn to skate. there are games in between conducted to keep us entertained DJ is playing very good music Kids friendly skate ring
Best place to go! Fun for kids ?? Hugs from the German family ??
Had fun considering it's the only roller skate place left. Good music and fun lights. The price was a little high and the building and skates haven't been updated maybe ever (even though that might be part of the charm). Downside is we went on Adult Night and there was a group of older people that act like professionals and look down on all the rookies that can't skate well. They act like they should be the only ones allowed to skate. Other than that, pretty great time.
Parents skate free on Saturdays 1100-1300. Good pricw, friendly staff, crowd is well mannered. Usually not crowded at all. Only gave four stars because the skate floor is a little bit lumpy. Otherwise a really good experience and a great value.
I've been coming to Skate City since I was eight years old. I went from going to day camp to coming as an adult?and even worked for the Franks. Dave, Michelle, and Kaila are some of the most kind-hearted people. They get to know you on a personal level, and you become apart of the Skate City Family! They provide a fun secure environment for the whole family! If you're looking for a more mature music night no worries they have an Adult Night catered for adult fun! Thank you, Dave, Michelle, and Kaila for let
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
